This motel would've received 5 stars from me if it wasn't for two things I didn't like about it: 1) They nickel and dime you… I was very upset to find out we had to pay to park our rental car at the hotel we were paying almost $1000 for the week to stay there. My husband and I had to pay $28 a day to park there, there was no parking on the street. 2) The shower was HORRIBLE! It would fluctuate between freezing icy cold and scalding hot. If you're anything like me those showers are a jump start to the day. Other than that the hotel was great. The staff was great, nice and friendly. The beds were comfortable, sheets and pillows were soft and plush. The temp of the room was perfect and easily controlled. We had our own balcony which overlooked the city which was romantic at night! We were two blocks from the beach and within walking distance of all the charming Hawaiian souvenir shops and places to eat. Technically you don't really need a rental car unless you're going to venture outside of this little area for something like a Walmart etc… cheaper things, lol. If you're going on any tours, luau, etc you're within walking distance of all the shuttle bus stops. Despite the 2 things I didn't like about this hotel I would still stay there again and I still recommend it to anyone looking for a fairly priced Hawaiian hotel in the heart of all the action. Staff were friendly, patient, accommodating. Especially Yuta at front desk and Jay the bellman. Rooms were clean and lots of space for storage (closet in bathroom).

Stayed here for 6 nights in a studio with a kitchen including a stovetop and a fridge. The check in was quick and so was The check out. The kitchen is very limited with very few kitchenware and utensils (no spatula, 1 steak knife, no pan for the oven and few plates). Bathroom is outdated and greatly needs renovations. The lighting is very poor. The bed was comfortable. We could hear loud music every night even thought we were on the 12th floor. Location was great (close to grocery stores and many other places. The only reason why we'd come back here is the price which was reasonable.

If you're going to stay in Waikiki, it's a decent Landing place for the price. I wouldn't plan on hanging out there very much though :-) lots to do outside obviously. Parking is a pain, so just plan to walk everywhere. Definitely nothing fancy, but more affordable then the others around!

For 17 days I stayed at this hotel. The price is inexpensive compared to most other hotels; however in my opinion you get what you pay for. The parking was horrible as the same steep ramp is used for both incoming and outgoing cars. Sometimes you have to wait for a line of cars to exit so that you may enter and the turns are extremely tight. The lobby is rather small and usually quiet crowded especially around 3 in the afternoon. Speaking of 3 pm that is the check-in time, don't bother showing up early because they do not make exceptions for early check-ins (military included). The washer and dryer facilities were adequate for a 17 day stay but I would not want to use them on a regular basis. Now the room, highly suggest that you get a upper floor room if possible. The wait at the elevator will suck but the noise coming from the adult entertainment building next door is very load and goes will past 2 am in the morning each night. If you want to get any peaceful uninterrupted sleep the first five or six floors are a bust. On the positive side the staff seemed to be very helpful but woefully understaffed. They did the best they could do given their limited resources. If you are looking for a cheap option and do not mind a variety of small inconveniences I would say it is adequate for a few days. Anything longer than a five day stay will wear on your nerves after a while.

Very affordable. No frills but that was ideal for me. Friendly staff. Close to a lot of great restaurants and nightlife. Be aware that there are hidden fees with this and other hotels (I guess that is the norm in Hawaii). The taxes are understandable but I wasn't prepared for the Amenity Fee ($25) or the $28 parking that was advertised as "included in the reservation. " Overall though, it was still much more affordable than any other hotel and still provided amenities. I cannot speak to the quality of the amenities though since I did not check those out.

I have to say this is a fair hotel for a fair price in Waikiki. The staff is very friendly, helpful and accommodating. We had a few issues with our room and when we mentioned it, they were more than willing to switch us to another room, to shampoo the carpet for our new room and left chocolate, cookies and a few bottles of water. The hotel definitely needs some updating though. The pool was beautiful. Be prepared to pay $27 in resort amenity fees on top of your room cost as well as $28 a day to park. (Hint, we drove around and found parking along the canal behind the hotel for free or on street parking after hours when they stop checking the meters. This saved us a lot of money we would have spent in parking fees).

While needing a refurbishment in the near future, Ohia was well appointed, comfortable and clean. Staff were friendly and helpful. It was appreciated that when room coffee was out of stock for a few days — coffee was available in the foyer. The shuttle bus was really useful, but the app struggled if one bus was down: a written map and timetable would have been helpful. Access to the bus would have been appreciated on the day we were waiting for our room.

It was ok, dated. Location good for central and shopping, noisy as to be expected in town and older building. Friendly helpful staff. Cheap and cheerful. Would I stay again, no, only because there's nicer quieter places further up towards Diamond Head etc.

Was kind of thrown off at first because we couldn't find our room. It was the only room that was outside the fire exit of the building so had to go back downstairs and be shown. Overall good stay and good location but the sister hotel aqua bamboo is better.

The hotel is an older hotel. Our restroom had tile that had been painted over with white peeing paint. There is an additional $25 resort fee per night, but it is hard to find justification for it based on the services they provide. There is no complimentary breakfast. There is also a gentleman's club next door that pumps music into the early hours, which made it hard to sleep. On the bright side, the beds were comfy and the air conditioning worked well.

Old like style but very clean and kept well.

Recently I’ve stayed in many different hotels because I’m in between apartments currently & this hotel was my least favorite. First of all they charge a deposit up front for service animals which is illegal & doubled the amount of the normal pet deposit they require & it could take up to 10 business days before it is refunded. Second, don’t bother checking in before 3pm or you’ll be waiting in the lobby along with a dozen other guests until that time. And don’t bother asking for a late check out. They’ll give you an extra 30 minutes but you’ll have to be completely packed up, out of your room & will have to wait in the lobby (again) during that 30 minutes. The hotel employees were nice but seemed like they couldn’t budge on anything to accommodate guests. The rooms were ok. As I quote a previous post on this hotel, “You get what you pay for. ”

Friendly helpful staff Busy at checkin 3pm Nice room, neat & clean, with kitchenette & balcony. Free Wi-Fi, DVDs & beach towels Only bad thing is shower pressure poor. Great location central & close to everything. Good value really. 4 1/2 stars if they could fix the shower pressure.

Rooms with kitchen can be a good money savings for travelers. Not fancy but clean, comfortable and located right in the heart of Waikiki. Can be a bit noisy at night on Friday and Saturday nights so try to stay on the upper floors. Resort fee includes beach towels, which can be handy. Free DVD and game rentals can keep the kids busy.

Great location. Nice staff however room very noisy, even know we were on the 8th floor the balcony door didn't seem to seal properly and nothing major but curtains could be a bit thicker we were all up as soon as the sun was up… Carpet throughout the property needs update. But U get what U pay for. Would still consider it on our next visit.

The hotel was nice and clean. Rooms were small but not bad. The morning staff were nice and friendly. The only person we had a problem with was one the night clerks. He was abrasive and right on the edge of rude. Everyone else was helpful and always greeted us with a smile.

Average for the price. Not much parking (that seems to be a theme in Waikiki) but plenty of things within walking distance. 10 to 15 minute walk from the beach, zoo, aquarium, etc. The rooms are decent sized, but in need of some updates. My only complaint (other than the parking situation) is that other hotels seem to offer more amenities for around the same price. This hotel does not offer breakfast, shuttle, or laundry service (but does have some coin operated units).

Warning! No hot water! This is the absolute worst hotel you can spend your money at in Waikiki. I went to my first room and found there was trash in the trash can dirty towels in the sink I was sneezing really bad so I just looked around to bed and saw dust this been there so long behind it you could make a blanket. I got them to switch me to a different room at which point I found there was no hot water after dealing with this for 2 days and the maintenance person coming by three times he said just let the water run for 30 minutes and all three sinks and it will be okay, he was wrong it never got hot I swapped rooms two more times the fourth room had hot water. These rooms are by no means clean and the amenities or horrible. The only thing here is a pool and it's not even a good one for $5 more you can stay at a really nice hotel with four times the amenities.

1# Hotel is in prime location. Beach is one and half blocks away. Everything is near. Everything!. All the buses are near here, restaurants. Shop till your hearts drops. The hotel is a outdated and can use big time upgrades. Particular the bathroom and kitchen decor. But if decor is not a factor then yes I would suggest this hotel. Balcony in room is a plus. The kitchen is a plus. The location is a plus. Bed was comfortable. You get free dvd rentals everyday. Kitchen comes with all utensils, pots, pans etc etc. Not sure if all rooms come with kitchen. But I had a studio kitchenette. You get $5 off the big kahuna restaurant if you don't require a room cleaned everyday. Overall I say yes to this place.

Staff was friendly and helpful not including the short tempered night man on the front desk. He was extremely rude and could use a class on customer service. The other front desk workers were exceptionally helpful and gracious. No problems with the room it was exactly as stated on-line. The amenities were well worth the fee. Best deal so far and I am more than happy to extend my stay for another night.

Stayed here for a week. The room was on the small side but clean. We got a room with a kitchen. We saved a lot of money making breakfast everyday. The best part about this hotel is it's location. Close to the beach and in the middle of prime shipping and eateries. Grocery store down the street made getting food to prepare helped a lot as well. **Watch out for the parking garage, the angle is horrible and with a fully loaded car you will scrape frame** very limited parking. Recommend if ballin on a budget with the kids.

Reasonable hotel, but not as good looking and great as many pictures suggest. Building is old and rooms are dated. Carpet is old and stained. Poorly maintained. Like most of hotels in Waikiki, a resort fee is charged, eventhough the hotel is barely a 'resort'. Location is great. Staff is helpful and mostly very nice. Kitchen in the room is good. Overall reasonable, but there may be better value in Waikiki for a similar price.

If you're looking for privacy and quick service, look somewhere else. The check in process is astoundingly bad. It takes forever for them to check in one guest. If there's a line, just come back, or bail on this hotel completely. After 45 minutes to check in with just 3 guests ahead of us at the start, we finally got to our room only to find it still occupied! The poor guests already in the room were shocked as they were in their underwear.

They didn't confirm reservations in advance, no airport shuttle to take you to hotel, hotel excess tax on top of regular tax, the hotel is old so the key pad kept falling off, the air conditioner (and you needed) wasn't working good right, hot and cold toilet was lose, but it was centrally located in Waikiki three blocks from waikiki beach swimmed every day made up for the other stuff. The staff was wonderful very helpful would I stay here again I would say yes.

The price was good in comparison to other local hotels. The room was simple and clean. We also had a kitchenette which was nice and convenient, although there wasn't a microwave. The bathroom is where I have a problem. I didn't feel comfortable taking a shower without shower shoes. It honestly felt like it wasn't getting clean for a majority of the time I was there. In addition to this, they charge for things that you may not even use. For example, they have old playstations in the room and a RedBox-like movie dispenser in the lobby. We never used it but it was still a necessary fee that we had to pay, and that was only one of the "amenities" that you weren't given the option to pay but rather had to even if you wouldn't want it. The people are nice though, and if you have a car take the option of paying for their parking garage! Surprisingly you'll save money! Other parking places are more expensive for overnight parking or are far away.

Great price. Great value. Five minute walk to beach access. Loads of food and bars around the hotel. Great alternative to those fancy overly priced resorts.

I like this place because it is affordable. Its well kept and on the older side but not to pretesious. The staff is always friendly and every time I have needed parking I have never had a problem. Which is something to be said for Waikiki. It is close to some great shops and more than a few incredible restaurants. And I like the fact that if I did want to attempt to cook anything we could since the place comes with a stove. .

Room was not ready right away. Rooms are smallish but cozy. Shower doesn't have any spot to place shampoos. Hotel close enough to walk to the beach and other destinations.

This hotel is cheap which is the only reason I stayed there. With that said, it's a total hole. The rooms are grimy, there are patched holes in the walls. No microwaves in the rooms, although mine had a stove which was alright. The staff is nice but the hotel is crowded and with little attention to detail. Stay here if money is more important than a nice room.

Ver good location, but old hotel. The water in the shower suddenly gets hot enough to burn you. But the worst part was the hidden fees that didn't show in the reservation, but on check-in you're informed you have to pay an extra 18 dollars a day!

For the price this hotel offers great amenities they even had a free DVD kiosk. It's in a perfect location near everything in Waikiki. The only negative was the strong bleach smell in the room.

You get what you pay for, the room is small and moderate. The bed is nothing to call home about. However, it's a cheap hotel in waikiki! The fridge in the room was so great and helpful. The air conditioning was amazing as well. The hotel felt safe and secure. The toiletries are Hawaiian tropic brand, so you know you're going to smell great! Overall, one of my favorite places to stay in Waikiki.

We stayed here last night with our 1 year old twins. I didn't want to but we were exhausted and didn't want to fight with parking. It was a MESS! They gave us a crib in a room that didn't even have room for it. We had to crawl over the top of the bed to get to the bathroom. The room was nice for one or two people but We told them we had twins… And they gave us a shoebox of a room. The parking situation is awful. Scraped the entire underside of my car pulling out. The lobby smelled very strong, no doubt it could trigger someone with asthma. I do not recommend. There's a Marriott one block away that is much nicer and is gonna be the same price by the time you pay for parking.

The worst hotel we have ever been to! Dirty, poor customer service! Terrible.

Rooms are not that clean, building is a little bit old. You get what you pay for. Shuttle drivers are nice though. Pool is small and not very inviting. Everyone in the front desk are nice and very helpful except for the older man, Ted, who works during night shift. He talks and complains about customers to other employees while he's on the front desk area while clients are sitting or standing in the lobby. The iced water in the lobby for guests is a plus.

First room had a lot of little cock roaches (6 to 7 spotted as soon as we walked in), however the staff was very friendly and helpful in changing our rooms. Second room appeared cleaner, but after sleeping in it for two nights, my wife and I were covered in bites that I'm assuming was bed bugs. The hotel also charges lots of hidden fees. The advertised rate of $105 per night ended up being $295 for two nights, and that's without room service. All in all it was a dirty, scam of a hotel. The staff was always very polite and helpful though, which is the only saving grace of this establishment.

Need to definitely update the rooms. ESP the ones right next to the new nightclub. Quite noisy. Horrible shower pressure. Definitely need update bathrooms. Staff is amazing tho. Giving it 3 stars for the great staff. Would give it a 2 based on just hotel quality. But pretty amazing price point for the location. The area is definitely on the up and up with great international market place right across the street.

Room was compact, older appliances, no A. C controls just fan control. Not sure if it had air conditioning or just a good room fan but I guess it was adequate none of us were excessively hot or cold. For the price the room was good, it served its purpose and even if older and a tad run down it was still overall ok. If you're picky, look elsewhere, if you just need a decent place to rest in between your various Hawaiian excursions and don't want to be "hotel poor" then look no further.

We stayed in room 209. First the Hotel itself is located on a One Way Street so be prepared to circle the block a couple of times since they don't have any pull-up parking for Check-In. The Parking Garage is tiny downstairs and the Lobby looks like it hasn't been maintained in Years. When we got to the room it was rundown and dingy. Two Outlets out of the entire room worked and the rest of the Room was as unmaintened as the Lobby.

Poor experience checking in after a long day. Beds not very comfortable. Very loud around the hotel. Needs a lot of updating in the rooms. I've stayed at other Aqua properties that are much better. This one will not be on my return list.

I was told it would have been 120 per night including tax. I stayed for two nights. When I arrived there they had me sign a form for an additional tax charge of 15 per night which equaled to 30. So total should have been more than 135 per night. I just checked my statement and I was charged 150 TWICE, PLUS ANOTHER 250! Im mortified they overcharged me and it could have gone unoticed if I hadn't checked my bank statements. The lobby looked undone.

Me and my girlfirend recently stayed there and hated it. The room was very old with the walls falling apart. We were there for three days and never got room service. The parking garage was also very small and very expensive. Worst of all there was a lot of hidden fees. All in all the price was just absolutely not worth it. So many different and better hotels in Hawaii. Will never go again.

I would give it 2 stars but, my stay really reflected 1 star. Poor car park access. The entire building was under a renovation but no warning on its listing, still charge full price. For the same price, I would get any place much better. Noisy at night too. I got out after one night with a 3 night booked. Not recommend.

The Aqua Resorts have great locations! I stayed at the Wave in Waikiki.
