We stayed here for 3 nights in June 2018. We found the room big, clean and tidy. It took a few seconds to work out where the bed was as we had a wall bed. The rooms get serviced twice a week but that wasn't a problem at all. We were on the 4th floor, so there was no noise from the nightclub, although hubby said that he could hear it outside. Staff always available and helpful. Plenty of eating places around and the short walk to the beach. We didn't use the kitchen, other than the microwave but great to have plates to heat up food. It had a lift, ice machine, laundry facilities. My parcel didn't arrive in time from USA and it was not a problem for them to re-direct it to my home. Sure, if you want a 5 star hotel (and pay for it), don't stay here, but we couldn't really fault the place for what we paid. We moved to this hotel from Ala Moana and in hindsight, we would have been very happy staying at Kuhio Banyan Club for the whole of our stay in Oahu.

Priced reasonable there is an additional charge but you get that back after you check out. The room was big and roomy. Clean right in the middle of town.

My personal disclaimer lol : For those of us that are used to and expect the bare minimum quality and comfort of places like Ramada or Holiday Inn Express, this place will definitely be a disappointment. If you are however fine with less quality, less comfort meaning your standard is lower than say a Ramada, then maybe you will be fine. Except for that loud music. Stay away! Horrible place. Posting this May 12th, 2018. The only nightclub on the entire island is right next to it — it’s crazy on Saturday nights but the boom boom of the music can be heard ANY DAY OF THE WEEK. The room doesn’t look that bad but the rest of the hotel looks pretty crappy and at 3am we could hear tons and tons of people screaming and laughing while we were trying to sleep! I know this is a cheaper place honestly you are way better off paying the extra 20 or 30 bucks a night and stay at the Ramada Waikiki — and actually expensive for such a place! — looks much more decent and no freaking night club or anything loud ruining your sleep. Also they charge $20 a day for “resort fees” which actually includes beach towels, chairs, scuba gear etc. So if you are staying there use those perks because you will pay for them anyway.

This place is a must! I did not see a single bug or critters during my 10 days stay. They have beach essentials that you can borrow during your stay as well as hair dryer and iron board. The location was the best part about this hotel; it is located near absolutely everything from restaurants, convenient stores and most importantly, the beach! The house keepers were a bit confusing since they didn't really give us a time range as to when they would be cleaning the room.

Clean rooms, location could be a bit closer to the beach. Room service is quick and pleasant. We had an ac issue, but front desk handled it immediately.

Terrible terrible! They had me paid 150$ for some kind of fee when we checked out. No Parking! Room dont smell nice. Dirty. It should be $50 a night or less… Terrible. Front staff never smile… Never going there again.

Good location for walking. They close at 10 and if you lose your room key they will charge you $45 to open your door. There is no parking, all the parking garages around here are 15 to $22 a night so if this is a long-term stay plan on carrying your luggage at least 1/2 Mile to the hotel. The room is nice the bed pulls out of a cabinet there is is small box TV, AC window unit, mini fridge, microwave, coffee pot, small cooking area, only a shower no bathtub. All in all nice room nothing more.

The staff was very friendly, we got to rent beach chairs, towels, snorkeling equipment, etc. For free! (Well, It's included in the resort fee). Love the kitchenettes, very organized. We did see a quite a few bugs in our room… the room definitely could've been cleaner. The main downside is how loud it is. No matter what time of night it was we could hear loud people out in the hallway as well as from the courtyard below. Also this is located in the middle of a shopping center and next to a bar, so if you don't hear people talking, you'll probably hear the loud music from the bar. Our room had our window facing out to the street so all night we would hear the sounds of beeping and cars driving by. Also, they advertise free Wi-Fi but… if you can even get on it, it rarely ever works. All together we did enjoy our stay considering the cheap price we paid, but I will probably look for a better located hotel on my next visit though.

Kuhio Banyan Club was perfect for us. Super friendly staff, room with kitchenette and close to the beach. Centrally located to many good places to eat. Provided free checkout of beach gear like chairs and towels. Comfy bed. Nothing fancy but clean and comfy.

It's not nice. The bed is noisy. If you go on a honeymoon is a bochinche… The good thing is that you provide snorkel equipment and chairs Faith Beach.

Hard to find. No parking is problematic. Old fashioned and basic but very clean.

It's an OK place to stay if you want to go cheap. Very loud club right next to the hotel which is loud all night. Random drugged up lady outside urinating in daylight. Facilities were OK except for the rooms sharing a door with the room next door. You can hear people shouting and talking while they walk back to their rooms. Overall it's cheap and convenient, personally I would prefer to stay somewhere else next time. Also no parking.

Fold out bed that didn't seem to be necessary. Adjoined to a night club that plays music until 3am, which comes in through slated windows in the bathroom that do not close. One of them cannot even be reached as it was installed above a closet. When calling maintenance to have the windows closed, nobody showed up. Despite all of this, it is in a pretty nice location that is a block or two away from many groceries, restaurants, the international marketplace, the aforementioned club, and 3 coffee shops. If you plan to be touring or doing adventure sports this is a great budget stay, but the resort itself is not structured to enjoy being stayed in.

Located directly across from the international market on Kuhio. Perfect room for our needs, kitchenette, queen bed and available laundry machines. Just a few blocks from the beach and great staff. AC in room and a nice entertainment set up. Not the newest stuff but perfect for sleeping and meals. The hot water does work, but you have to wait for a few minutes probably because no one takes a warm shower here.

Great location for walking to many shopping opportunities, 2 blocks to Waikiki Beach, Walking distance to Waikiki Zoo & Waikiki Aquarium. Friendly front desk staff & maids Free wake-boards,. No parking on site. However they can get you connected with a guy who can rent you a private parking spot for $15 a day. TV and Wi-Fi need updated.

The area was convenient… but it smelt terrible! They charge a $15 resort fee which I have no idea why because it is defiantly not a resort. They also put a hold on my funds in the amount of $250 which I have still yet to get back. I definitely am frustrated and would not recommend it.

Good price clean and awesome location.

The room is exactly what we needed. Studio style with a full kitchen. The bathroom was a lil warm but we weren't in the room long enough to care. They lend out beach gear (towels, mats, umbrellas, inflatables) for free! It's located by so many eateries, we didn't need a car or public transportation once.

Coffee pot had moldy bag of coffee in it room not very clean when we got it every time we took showers penises and stick figures with penises showed up on the mirror. We never got cleaned out the whole time we stayed or toilet paper Beach equipment we got charged for using $15 a day was crappy and broken and ended up costing me more money to go rent stuff and when I told the manager they told me there was nothing they can do about it.

Although the place is located at the heart of the city, parking is really a big issue here… going for a budget hotel and then ending up spending almost 200-300$ on parking is not really a good experience when on a vacation. Otherwise, the location is amazing. Its like 10mins walk to the Waikiki Beach and they provide towels and beach chairs. So +1 for that.

Not sure why some reviews are bad. Front desk people were very friendly and helpful. Room was clean, kitchen was well equipped, bed was comfortable, location is AMAZING right near kalakaua in Waikiki by the beach, the $15 resort fee includes unlimited access to beach gear such as towels, floats, snorkels etc. Prices are unbeatable. If you are looking for a five star experience, this is obviously not what you'd want.

In a nutshell, not even worth one star. Expedia booked this establishment for us. The staff from the start were pretty shady, the room was horrendous by site and smell. When trying to negotiate out of our reservation, management was completely unwilling to accomodate any requests and was extremely condescending. How they stay in business is beyond me. Save a dollar and book anywhere else.

Room was clean and comfortable. A little dated but still nice. May not be great for families but we enjoyed it. Good location, within a short walk to beaches and shopping. Staff is very friendly and helpful. Overall it is very good for couples.

My only minor complaint about this place is that there is a club or strip club downstairs called "Playbar Waikiki", with loud music, but not bad enough to send me somewhere else. The hotel itself isn't bad as these other reviews are making it seem. I was briefed on the lockout policy, and price, if I were to not have my key, and also desk hours, which I had no use for it after I checked in. They give you a key to get in after hours, and simple thing; if you don't have it you get charged, so take it with you, if you are planning to be out late. The hotel isn't fancy; somethings are outdated, but I honestly didn't care about all of that. I was well aware of it prior to staying here. There is a kitchen inside of the room; it's kind of like a studio, with everything you need already inside: pots, pans, dishwasher, even a stereo! The room has a pullout bed, but I avoided using it on the first night, due to wanting to watch television while I fell asleep, which the TV sits next to the bed vs diagonal from it. At this hotel you are surrounded by everything you would need to make your trip cheap, and fun, but like I said my only complaint is the club, or it might be a strip club downstairs, but I can't blame Kuhio for that. Kuhio does has Wifi in the hotel, and also issues out things to use at Waikiki beach for free, if requested.

This is a real dump. The bed folds down out of the wall. Very noisy. No where to park. I was so disappointed I only stayed one night of my 7 day stay.

FFF — — My friend got stood up at this hotel, was left stranded with no place to sleep. They only have ppl work till 10pm and my friend pd a cab 50us to get there one way fr airport. Beds were very lousy. I saw pics and they look like foam. My friend got athletes foot from using the shower there. Mgmt was rude to my friend — I was on the ph on hold and heard everything they said. Go somewhere else. Do yourself a favor! I'll never stay here!

The check-in clerk was great, the room was small but clean, and the location is within walking distance to most anything you could want in Waikiki. The only complaint is could see someone having would be noise, due to a nearby night club, but our particular room was far enough away that it didn't bother us.

This ia very smart HOTEL,,, they choose on positive feedback,,, people dont want to see the feedback 3 yars ago,,, they need to know what happened now,,, I had this hotel,,,, and I would love to say this is good HOTEL except the working personal infront desk,, two big ladies were so so rude,,, but guys were awesome,, they were so very nice,,, the HOTEL has exelent location, also the price was the best,, the best is ever I could emagine,, thanks guys.

Looked a bit dodgeh at first ut the rooms are good. Clean and cool andwith good amenities.

This was the worst Hotel ever the room wasnt clean drity carpet and shower had hair everywhere in it. Hot water didnt work in the shower. Also the first night there was a fire in the Hotel had to wait outside for two hours while the owner came running over laughing about it talking about how she was next door drinking and didnt even notice the hotel was on fire. I wouldnt ever recommend this place to anyone.

Good price, good friendly staff, nice distance from the beach, and right across the international market. Nice kitchen and nicely stocked. It is NOT a baby friendly place. Housekeeping comes once a week, they won't replace towels, we had to ask to use the vacuum, night club is open until 4ish. Not to mention our stove and counter outlets didn't work fot 2 days and it took them 2 days to figure out how to switch the breaker. I hope we get out deposit back. We are under the impression they will find a reason to keep it. This place is definitely a penny pincher place.

I'm having a great time in the RCI condo exchange here. I'm on the 4th floor, and have used the kitchenette for several days to make breakfast, brunch and dinner. The location can't be beat for the price in Waikiki — we are adjacent to Dukes' Lane and across Kuhio Ave. From the International Market and an ABC store. Maybe people from outside Hawaii don't realize what things cost in Honolulu? I have found the staff to be friendly and the room (an efficiency studio with murphy bed) clean and comfy and more than adequate. The fact that I can wheel myself to the beach in my wheelchair in less than 10 minutes is a plus! Yes there is city noise — turn up the fan at night folks! Point it away from you if you don't want the breeze.

Great place to stay. I'm a night owl so when it comes to the nightclub down stairs. If you can't beat them join them.

I've been spending a week in Waikiki at this hotel/timeshare for years. It's quaint and in the perfect location — right across from the International Market. It's far more an authentic Hawaiian experience than staying at the usual hotel chains. It's surrounded by restaurants run by the locals. It has easy access to public transportation. The rooms are simple and unassuming "studio" by units, but always clean. There has always been a simple kitchen that is nicely equipped — a real plus for anyone who needs a special diet. Street noise from a local club can be an issue, but that's the price you pay for the convenience. The beach is within easy walking distance. The staff is friendly. If you want a pool, concierge, souvenir shop, and room service — skip this place. If you want to enjoy the simplicity of the 1950's Hawaii — it's well worth the money.
