Reviews of The Laylow, Autograph Collection 4*
If sitting on pillows is wrong, I don’t want to be right! …. I LOVE sitting on those pillows because they’re so big and comfy! … Pillows are for more than just sleeping, they’re meant to be SAT ON!
Pre-flight cocktails at Laylow were absolutely fabulous 🍹
Excellent clean accommodations ❣️
Best service and best location! Would come back to this hotel over and over again!
Great service, good food the waiter was very polite and friendly.
Great hotel! Good food, fun pool, and clean rooms.
I visited here in 2018 for my honeymoon and it was a wonderful trip. The hotel is central to everything and the food and staff were great! I can’t wait to visit again and bring my children with us!
I love love this hotel! Super trendy with a MCM flare. The bar and restaurant is awesome with live music and GREAT service. Very personable and Jeremy makes everyone feel welcomed. So great to see such a positive environment. The Mai Tai is yummy! A great place to stay! 5 🌟🌟🌟
This boutique style hotel is located just a couple of blocks from Waikiki beach and next to the international market. Nestled between both the ocean and the city, it is definitely a great place to stay if this is your first time in Oahu as you are walking distance of some great places to venture. It gives off a modern upscale hotel, with a boutique feel. The lobby offers the hideout, a restaurant/bar, which provides delicious food and drinks. They start breakfast early at 6am, so for those of you early birds trying to get to your tourists spots early, you can go down and enjoy your breakfast before the crowds. They have an array of offerings for breakfast, but if you are in a pinch for time, you can grab one of their many selections of pastries. If you are the first, you may even be able to get a masubi! There is a happy hour between 5-6 (don’t miss out on their cocktails, they are *chefs kiss*), with dinner starting shortly after, so if you time it right, you can get your pregame before starting dinner. On the weekends, get there early for some live tunes. During the earlier part of the evening, there are some cool artist that perform and at the later evenings, a DJ. We weren’t able to enjoy the pool, because you know, the ocean… but if we did, they offer activities at the pool in the afternoon, including free shaved ice! If you have a car, no worries! They have valet service; a really good one too.
Everything about our stay was amazing. From the decor to the cocktails to the service, we enjoyed every moment of our staycation weekend!
Nice, updated hotel, good music and ambiance. Friendly and attentive staff.
Awesome hotel — perfect location — excellent hotel bar / restaurant — just a bit pricey — kid friendly pool — loved our stay.
Great hotel with a beautiful and hip aesthetic! Love the location and the hotel restaurant — make sure to try the macadamia nut pancakes at breakfast. Parking is easy under the hotel or at the International Marketplace just steps away. Definitely recommend!
Had a good stay at the lay low! Walk downstairs and into the busy strip—close to shops, restaurants etc. Parking available also as well as overflow parking! Recommend if you wanna stay right in Waikiki. Great prime location!
Great boutique hotel with all kinds of mid century modern touches throughout. Central location, helpful staff, beautiful pool!
Gorgeous small boutique hotel. 10 min walk from the beach.
Centrally located in the Waikiki area; very convenient
* The property and room are tastefully done; great island vacation vibe
* Staff is friendly, polite, and accommodating; Ashley at front desk is a real asset
Overall, we had a very nice and pleasant stay. Would definitely return, and recommend!
Love this charming boutique hotel — part of the Autograph collection by Marriott. High end amenities in a small upscale setting. Lovely pool and live outdoor nightly entertainment.
Loved our week-long stay at the Laylow Waikiki. Great location, great staff, and great place to relax, shop, or enjoy Waikiki even though our stay was during COVID-19. Excellent restaurants nearby with Paia Fish Market just steps away and the International Marketplace Mall and ABC store right next door. Waikiki Beach and Dukes are just a short walk away via the International Marketplace. Food at the Hideout due breakfast was great and hanging out to the live music in the evenings was fun. We will be returning again in the future. Mahalo! — mit Wendy Shigekawa Okada.
The staff here are great. The beds are big and comfy. The pool is nice but it’s a basic city pool with no view. Showers are nice. Location is AMAZING. Walk to everything in Waikiki. Prices are a bit too high and there’s no coffee maker in the room : (
You guys and gals are the best… I've been staying here on and off for work for the past week… by far the friendliest staff ever… shout out to Suzanne and Ashleigh for going above and beyond for making us feel like part of the Lay Low family… Mahalo!
We had a great time and enjoyed the hotel and pool! We felt very safe, wore our masks, washed our hands and used hand sanitizer. I highly recommend staying at the Laylow hotel! Friendly staff, very clean, cute rooms, nice pool, restaurant had live music on Saturday and just a great experience!
Great location. Wonderful staff. Beautiful spacious rooms.
Love everything about this hotel from the staffs to the decorations! Super duper cute print that matches everywhere and the staffs are super nice and friendly! It's located in Waikiki, next to all the nice restaurants and stores. I definitely recommend this place.
I rarely ever leave reviews… last night my grandmother’s ring was accidentally slammed in the safe door. When we realized it, it was cracked, bent, and missing 4 diamonds. We could not find the diamonds anywhere but thought they might have slipped in some small cracks. The night manager was extremely helpful and called in an engineer. Unfortunately, the engineer did not have the proper tools. They set up for the head engineer to come in the next day, a Saturday, and work with the day manager to remove and disassemble the safe to see if they were where we thought. They worked for an hour to remove the safe and we did find the largest diamond. I am beyond grateful for their help and every employee we encountered went above and beyond for our entire two days here before boarding our cruise. If I am ever here again, I will be at Laylow!
The Hideout has amazing food and service! Great atmosphere on an outside deck.
Strongly recommended. First time here celebrating my birthday — very impressed by everything. — с Steve Gordana Naidenov.
Came a day early for a work trip and used points. They gave away my balcony room that I checked into a day early and gave me a ground level room where the sliding glass doors are at the public pool. Air conditioner sounds like a freight train but better then the elevator and walk-in talkies I hear. But best thing is I’m in Hawaii and have to keep floor to ceiling blinds closed like I’m in a prison so the people at pool can’t watch me. Oh and they tried to call it an upgrade to add insult to injury. Just one of a series of epic MARRIOTT fails lately.
Reception desk was very helpful and welcoming. Our room was clean and comfortable with a balcony overlooking the pool area. Lots of comfortable seating around the pool with fruit-infused water and fresh fruit available. Lots of dining choices within walking distance and just a short walk to the beach. We actually didn't have anything to complain about at all!
Incredible experience, hotel is beautiful, manager Ashley is amazing. Great food, drinks, location.
Beautiful place to stay. We were in walking distance to so many restaurants and the shopping malls were awesome. I can’t wait to go back.
Staff was wonderful, so friendly. The food ar the hideout was amazing. Great location!
I really enjoyed staying here on vacation. Your staff was very nice and friendly. It was my first time coming to Hawaii and I loved your hotel it was very comfortable and relaxing.
Love this hotel. Can’t say enough. Right in the middle of everything. Room was spacious and clean. Staff was wonderful. Would definitely return.
Laylow was amazing! We stayed there for a week and for a wedding! The bar was off the hook, the staff, great drinks, and very spacious! Rooms were also super cool!
Great rooms, comfortable beds, and good entertainment. The food at their Hide Out restaurant was below average in my opinion.
Their breakfast coffee bar is pricey but good!
I’ll be back!
We had such a wonderful stay at the LayLow. The location was brilliant, styling was on point, the service was wonderful and the food was amazing.
However, our favorite moment was with Matt the Ukelele shredder, who gave a wonderful lesson. Thank you all for your great hospitality. Mahalo, we’ll be back for sure!
Such a beautiful vintage yet minders hotel.
There’s something cool to look at around every corner.
And the staff-they are so welcoming, and enjoyable to work with whether checking in, getting morning coffee, having a cocktail or dinning.
I look forward to staying that this hotel each time I come to Oahu.
First time staying here and really enjoyed our stay. Staff were friendly and helpful. Free shaved ice everyday at 1 pm. Big hit with the kids! Pool was great too!
The attention to detail in this hotel, in both the rooms and common areas, is impeccable. First Autograph Collection property I’ve stayed at, and I’m seriously impressed. A high level of service compliments the visual feast of gorgeous mid-mod furnishings.
Best hotel in Waikiki. Hip vibe especially Hideout Bar where food, cocktails & entertainment are fabulous. Staff very friendly, nothing is ever a problem. Rooms spacious, ultra comfortable king size beds, roomy efficient bathrooms & great showers. Decor so funky, retro meets modern, adding to cool, fun ambience of hotel. On Kuhio, surrounded by a variety of interesting and affordable eating places, ideal location. Beach less than 5 minutes walk away.
If anybody is trying to find good deals on hotels visit HoteIBully. Com booked a hotel on there and they had the best rates anywhere! Hidden gem within the sea of toursit-centric generic shops and restaurants. Cool retro vibe in the decor and room details which carries over into the coffee bar and restaurant. Grab an early morning espresso with the sunrise and watch the streets come alive from the comfort of the open air lobby lounge and patio. Or chill in your room with the provided ukulele and watch lessons on YouTube. Retreat back to the hotel in the evenings for chill live music and creative cocktails.
Great location — walking distance to the beach and a ton of great food and shopping. Clean and spacious lobby, restaurant, bar, and bathrooms. Friendly and helpful concierge got us booked for the Ocean Joy snorkeling and sunset cruise with a $50 discount. Pool area is small, but clean, sunny, and private. The hotel also provides a few bicycles for guests to use around town at no extra cost.
This hotel knows how to treat its guests. 5 star across the board. They get the details right and offer some great surprises. If you are debating on a hotel in Waikiki, this one is worth every penny, and then some.

Great hotel. Walking distance to beach, food & coffee. Tight drop off area. Pool area isn't very private. Restaurant is great. Rooms are super nice, trendy decor. Balconies & views are great.
Laylow has excellent location. The staff is friendly and helpful. The hotel itself is absolutely beautiful. Just as the others from the Autograph Collection, there is focus on every detail. The rooms are beautiful and comfortable. The pool area and gym are small but well maintained and relaxing. Love the restaurant, coffee shop, all the plants, the swings and everything about the lobby area. A great hotel in beautiful Waikiki.
Did a walk through for my nieces wedding next year for group booking. Such an awesome place! I think I'll do a staycation there to further investigate the amenities offered! Staff is awesome however my niece lives in Korea and is having difficulty getting anyone from sales to get back to her after many email attempts. Fingers crossed they get back to her soon. Front desk staff was wonderful!
Booked a room for a single night on the executive floor. Definitely worth the extra cost because the executive floors had a complimentary food and coffee bar. Lots of complimentary food and water in the room (as well as free sandals). The complimentary continental breakfast wasn't really a full breakfast, just ham and cheese croissants and orange juice. Beds were very comfortable. Excellent service. Hotel is perfectly located near downtown shopping and restaurants.
The Hotel Boutique is good, the location is very good, but this fatal that at the exit of the stay you do charges for use of pool, for use of gym, for use of Wi-Fi, etc… No matter whether you occupied them or not.
Not impressed. As a frequent guest at Marriott properties and more specifically autograph collection properties; I was pretty disappointed in the lay low. The room was nothing special. No lounge and no free breakfast. They did offer a $15 voucher because of this, but 15 does not get you much. Soda was $5.00. The pool service was basically non existent. The seating at the pool is very minimal and the pool itself is tiny. There were quite a few children in it pretty regularly. Due to the location the pool does not get much sunlight. There are a few hours of the day that you can get sun but the rest is spent in shadows. Housekeeping left dirty glasses and an empty wine bottle on the entertainment center for 3 days. I attempted to call the front desk 3 times and let it ring until it automatically disconnected me. I found it easier and more time efficient to go to valet and request the car in person. The valet guys were great. The bar was busy every night and the staff was great. Friendly and they open for coffee at 4 a. M. Which is great for Eastern time zone people still adjusting to the time change. The food was great and the fresh squeezed orange juice is the best I've ever had. They have balconies off of the rooms but you cannot smoke out there. They will charge you $250 if you smoke out there. We were unaware that you weren't allowed to smoke out there. They were kind enough to remove the charge when I asked about it.
Jason, was great at the front. He genuinely cares about his guests and is knowledgeable about the area. Unfortunately they are losing a star because not everyone shares the same customer service skills. Two women in particular. My bags that were being held for check out were also mishandled and separated, thankfully my bag wasn’t claimed by someone else. The rooms themselves are designed will, though there are rooms located right next to the elevator which was a poor design choice. On Saturday night they had a live DJ that created a fun experience. The restaurant here is also a decent place to grab a bite, but expensive and there are limited options.
It's been hit or miss with autograph collection hotels, with Laylow being a 'Hit'. Rooms were of good quality with nice local decor, plus sandals! Location is not on the beach but close enough (a block). Staff is friendly and attentive. Personally wish the pool had a hot tub, and was open later. Would easily book again.
Room — The room was incredibly comfortable and well decorated, the accent wall and pieces really gave it a Hawaiian feel while still fitting their modern theme. Facility — The pool, main hall and eatery (known as the Hideout) are all connected once you arrive up the escalator. While the pool isn't massive, it is comfortable and is designed to flow very well. The main hall and check in area is trendy and staffed every time we passed by. The employees were always helpful and happy. Which brings us to the Hideout: While we didn't have lunch we did have breakfast and dinner, both times I was incredibly impressed with the food and service, I recommend their tacos and buckwheat pancakes. Overall — I've stayed at several resorts on the strip in Waikiki now, but this is by far my favorite. When I return I will definitely be staying here again. Sidenote — The music was really great played through the hotel and at night for the performances in the Hideout.
I stayed here to change it up from the Beach Marriott. This is a very modern style rooms. There is not an executive lounge nor is there free breakfast. They have a small snack area with coffee and sometimes hot breakfast sandwiches but otherwise nothing that is fulfilling. My most disappointment came from the inability to reach someone at the front desk. I would call and leave the room phone ringing for 2 minutes before hanging up just to try again in 5 minutes and repeat the same situation. Otherwise the staff is very friendly and it is located in a very convenient location for walking.
Really great and attentive staff. There are a lot of shops and restaurants options very close. The hotel is only a couple blocks from the beach. The rooms were clean and updated. Nice balcony to sit and enjoy the views. A few fun extras upon check-in with the resort fee.
Boutique hotel in very central Waikiki location. Good if you want a more relaxed experience that is not too hectic and overrun with kids. Newer interiors and service level was attentive, prompt and friendly. We enjoyed some of their nice guest perks like free Ukulele lessons, pool etc. Nice expresso bar for the mornings and bar bar for the evenings… overall, enjoyable and relaxing stay.
The location was nice as we had access to many different things around us. The room was nice, but lighting was controlled by a bunch of lamps which I did not like as it took awhile to turn them all on or off. The service was great! Very nice and friendly. Would definitely want to go back.
Rooms are modern, comfortable and well laid out, with thoughtful touches and technology. The common areas are clean and nicely appointed with attractive fixtures and really solid design. Furniture is comfortable and the staff is incredibly friendly. The food in the restaurant is great, though service can be a touch slow. It's Hawaii though, so everything runs on island time. Great location too!
The hotel has a good casual fun vibe. Rooms were very nice. Our island view was of a parking garage. This hotel is probably not the place to stay if your looking for a view. Breakfast area was very pleasant and food delicious. Great bar/ outside eating area. Didn't eat dinner at the restaurant but the menu looked very reasonably priced for Honolulu. Outside bar seating needs to be reserved. Our room was not ready at 4:30 when we checked in but they gave us free drinks at the bar. It was Christmas week so everywhere in Honolulu was very busy. Elevators were problematic as one was not working for the 3 days we spent there. We used the stairs. They should paint and decorate the staircase and encourage patrons to use it. (If your on the lower 6 or so floors) It was the perfect place to stay before moving on to the big island.
Not too expensive for where it is. Friendly staff and decent food and drinks. Loved the salmon avocado toast. The hotel is relatively small. Not much space to hang out other than at the pool area or bar but with so much going on outside, that’s not an issue. Rooms are pretty good and spacious. They have a cool modern retro feel.
Easily the best of the 3 different Marriott properties I stayed at while in Oahu in terms of modernity and style. They actually made an effort of recognizing Platinum-level members (unlike the other Marriott hotels here), including a welcome gift basket! Boutique hotel-type charm, trendy coffee bar and restaurant, high-quality toiletry supplies and mini-fridge, pool area designed for lounging, modern bathrooms (kudos to the designers for using shower tiles designed to look like dark rich wood). I would describe the room decor as a modern take on 60s trendy surfer/SoCal. Nice plush comfy beds. And of course it's in the heart of Waikiki if you're looking for touristic convenience. However, a lot of what appears attractive is mostly surface. While the pool is designed for lounging, it's useless as an actual pool because of its standing-level depth and small size. All the rooms have balconies but none have a view of the beach — you're either looking at a parking garage or at northern Waikiki. The gorgeous decor and bathrooms won't hold up because there are obvious signs the cleaners don't do a detailed enough job and so the grime will just continue to build. And despite the rooms being new, the walls are paper thin. Suggestions to the hotel: please install hooks on the bathroom wall. The current bathroom design makes no sense (at least for the Junior suites) — why are there no hooks along the wide empty wall for hanging clothes or towels?
Very nice, modern hotel. The decor is very hip, but we found it impractical most of the time. Things like no hooks in the shower area, weird chairs and couches that look cool but aren't comfortable. And the bed was very uncomfortable to me. I think they are catering to a younger crowd. The bar and lounge area is very nice and very friendly staff. The drinks and food items were very hip as well. Overall a nice place, but I do think they are catering to a younger crowd which is totally fine, but we would probably not stay here again. Tho I would recommend it you if that's what you are looking for!
Location is amazing. Hotel is really hip. Coffee bar is really top notch and the cocktail bar "hideout" has amazing drinks! Definitely will recommend to any couple or young family.
I really liked it here, very modern and funky. Lovely pool, great service. The hideout bar is a great place to just hang out, great atmosphere. One disappointing & confusing thing though is when sitting at the bar we needed to show a passport to get a drink. Normal ID was not adequate. Even though we are hotel guests. But prior to that we were sitting at the firepit and they were happy to just keep bringing cocktails over to us. Didn't need a passport then.
Very nice hotel, super friendly staff. It's a little pricey but it's worth it. They have happy hour and live music in the evening. Rooms were nice and big. Best of all when you get into your room they have a small gift basket with sandal, a bag of chips, high c chew and some cookies. Great place over all.
Excellent hotel. Clean, fresh and a cool contemporary style. Rooms are well sized and beds comfortable. Food in the Hideout Restaurant is good.
This is an update to a previously 5 star rating when I visited this hotel in Aug 2017. It went from being the best Marriott experience to close to the worst. The two elevators were insufficient for a large hotel and one elevator was broke down so it took approximately 15 minutes to get on. No joke. Since I had to go back to my room twice, it messed up our schedule and had to cancel breakfast. The lobby areas were way to much noise to make business calls. They were playing the hotel music way too loud there. I had to go into the fire exit stairwell to make a business call. The concierge was late the morning we needed him. When he showed up he looked very young and did not have the knowledge or ability to help us. Also the room was small and an almost empty liquid body soap bottle. They charge an additional $25 fee at the hotel. Not sure for what… maybe a resort fee. I will not return here.
Wow, what a property! Fantastic Marriott boutique in the heart of Waikiki. Stayed in this building years ago when it was an Aqua, and couldn't have imagined the renovations I'm seeing. Great open air bar/restaurant on lobby level but it desperately needs a TV or 4. After checking in I wanted nothing more than to sit and catch a game before my room was ready. But without TVs I ended up walking down the street to a sports bar. Too bad my $50 had to go somewhere else. Staff is fantastic, especially Jeff (as the bartender he had to tell me no games were available) and looking forward to the rest of my stay.
The Laylow, a boutique 1960’s Hawaii retro hotel with mid-century flair is centrally located in Waikiki on Kuhio Avenue. It is right across the street from the notable restaurant, Marukame Udon. It is a 10-minute walk from the world-famous Waikiki Beach. Would not recommend for anyone that wants to be right on the beach. It is, however, a short walk or even shorter Uber ride away. Check-In is an escalator ride up from Kuhio Ave. The hotel is right next door to Michael Mina’s …establishment, The Street. If you were walking on Kuhio, you probably wouldn’t notice Laylow as it tries to encompass the concept of its’ title, a place where you can lay low in the chaos of Waikiki. Its bar Hideout has a similar concept. Once you reach the top of the escalator, you’re greeted with mid-century furniture and leafy palms. On the lobby floor, you’ll find the Restaurant, Bar (Hideout), Coffee Shop, Saltwater Pool, Gift Shop, and where your clients check in. The saltwater pool provides infused water and cocktail service from the bar. They also include complimentary shave ice. Fun fact: Hawaiians don’t call it shaved ice, for some reason they knock off the d. Reason for a 4: Long wait time at The Hideout for Guests and no Hawaiian coffee at the coffee bar. Room: Sync your phone up to the TV and play music from the Bluetooth connection. Included in the $25 Resort Fee are complimentary snacks, thongs or slippers (flip flops), and a ukulele in your room.
Clean, comfortable and convenient! Centrally located downtown Waikiki near International Market Place. Restaurant food was fresh and excellent, however we avoided the drinks; (soda and alcohol) too expensive and low quality. Beautiful and relaxing pool with comfortable seating. Valet was always very prompt. Beds were comfortable. I enjoyed the free slippers as a fun souvenir. Would LOVE to stay there again!
Fantastic hotel in downtown Waikiki. The rooms are very clean and the staff is very accommodating. The hotel is a short walk to the beach, food, and lots of great shopping.
Definitely the most fun decor for any hotel we've stayed at. The staff is always friendly and helpful. They serve great coffee and drinks at the bar and have a great welcome package. We loved it so much we stayed here exclusively for multiple trips this year.
Where do I begin, my flight was early, my room wasn't ready which is understandable, however they had a room exactly the same on the next floor down so they happily let us move into there. Elevators work fine — I read elsewhere they were slow, not true. Clean rooms. The bed is super comfy, the service has been good, I'm in an executive room which includes daily refreshments. Woke up to coffee which was great along with a chocolate crossaint — also delicious. Great location. So far everything's been fabulous, also great value for money. I will stay here again. The welcome pack was also lovely, 2 pairs of flip flops, bottled water snacks and bickies. Love the Laylow.
A fabulous hotel with great staff, good location and great outdoor pool area. Would definitely recommend to friends. Room was also comfortable. Don't forget to visit Dean and Deluca for happy hour, what a treat!
Crafty decor — it's like a tropical theme Pinterest board came to life. Great value and even greater lounge areas and bar. The pool doesn't get much sun because of where it's located but the beach is right down the street. Valet here is everything, which is why you will see so many locals hanging out on the sandy lanai bar. Great music check the calendar.
The hotel really is a hidden gem. My wife and I visited here for our anniversary. The staff are wonderful and the decor is great. The pillows are a bit too big and gave my wife a terrible cramp in her neck that soured the entire visit. The pool is very nice and not too crowded. The bar was cool with good food and interesting drinks. If I stay here again, I will definitely ask for a cabana room. Those open straight to the pool with swings on the lanai. As platinum elites, we were told we were upgraded. All they did was put us in a room with two King beds. That doesn't make much sense when it's just my wife and me. A sitting area would have been much better. For the price, I prefer the Marriott by Queen's Beach. More pools, a hot tub, better views.
Centrally located in Waikiki, this is a classy and well decorated hotel with a classic Hawaiian look and feel. Our deluxe room was furnished with all the essential amenities in addition to thoughtful decor which greatly contributed to the ambience. The Laylow has an outdoor salt water pool and is within walking distance to Waikiki beach and many shops and restaurants. Overall, a great experience — would definitely stay here again on our next trip out!
The valet set up is very different. Needs improvements for better traffic flow and wait time. Nice bamboo and plants and design for pool. Love the gift shop. Love the swinging chairs. Cute design. Staff is nice. Need to sell bbq sauce from the hideout. Gift shop is expensive.
Five star service at a three star price! Love the relaxed vibe at the Laylow. It's such a great location close to the International Marketplace, beach, and tons of new and delicious restaurants although you definitely shouldn't miss out on the delicious food and fabulous service at the Hideout. The lounge chairs and firepits make it a perfect place for a girls night out. We just had the Ballet Hawaii Rubies Preview cocktail party at the Laylow and event staff, especially Patricia and Ben, couldn't have been more helpful or welcoming. Thank you all so much for welcoming us!
My husband and I could not have been more impressed by this hotel and staff!
We arrived slightly early for check in and our room was already ready, and we were given an upgrade! Our room was beautifully decorated. The king size bed was very comfortable, and we were also given a roll away crib for our infant. The room had a smart TV as well! When we got in our room we had a baset full of complementary goodies for us (including snacks and adorable slippers! )
Such a nice touch!
The hotel itself
Is absolutely stunning! So many places to lounge and relax. The pool was so incredibly, we spent a lot of our time lounging pool side.
We had drinks at the hideout restaurant, they were good, but a little pricey. It was also quite busy, but we still got great service.
We also had breakfast at the hideout, it was very delicious and we had good service again.
Every encounter we had with all the staff was a pleasant one, we will definetly be back
To stay! We didn't want to leave.
Good spot for some heavy pupus or less formal dinner. Enjoyed the open air space, good live music. Service was good & food came out pretty quick. Ordered poke & pork belly appetizers & excellent. Thai chicken flatbread equally good.
$14 for glass of Reisling, bit much, but was good & didn't stop me from having 3. Definitely will go back, especially on a nice warm waikiki late afternoon/evening.
The beach chairs were great and included with the resort fee. Fairly quick access to Waikiki via Dukes Ave. Staff was great, I recommend taking part in the Wednesday meet & greet happy hour. Kuhio Ave can be a little sketchy, but as young city-based travelers it didn't bother us.
Terrible hotel, front desk asked for $100 deposit but next morning I'm check out front desk said there is no $100 cash deposit? Online showed hotel require for $100 deposit per stay but end up hotel or staff steal customer money. This was my first and last time to stay this hotel that staff stealing money from customer. Kuo Chuan Lin Room # 914
Fairly average for the price. Free Wi-Fi is always good, but drops out numerous times an hour. Reasonable view for the location. Very friendly staff. Quite dated.
Good location right across the street from Marukame Udon. It’s an affordable hotel with a dated interior. There can be noise from the street late into the evening, but our room was on a high enough floor that it didn’t really bother us.
The location is perfect — right in the middle of Waikiki and all the tourist spots. The rooms are very affordable and nice and the service is even better.
It's a decent room but it looks cleaner on the pictures. Needs a renovation for sure and its next to construction, so it's loud all morning. Parking is so small and expensive. The TVs are super small. The staff is nice and super attentive.
Nice comforting rooms, too much noise because of the construction next door. Our floor smell like weed. Is very limited and have to go next door if it's full. Rooms look clean but need a renovation.
This hotel was a mixed bag of impressions. Decently priced (at the discounted rate on Expedia), but the quality of the hotel in general was pretty poor. The room was heavily worn and dated looking. The bathroom was small and minimal. Generally not very inviting. The hotel staff was very nice and helpful, especially the concierge. The worst of this hotel is that one side faces a parking deck, and at 6AM every morning (and 3-4PM each evening, if you're taking a nap) it is impossible to sleep due to the noise from cars going in and out of the parking deck which is immediately across the alley from the room. Also, at the time, a significant amount of construction was going on in the blocks surrounding the hotel, so construction noise was a real problem. All of that and the fact of no complimentary breakfast made this hotel a poor choice. You're better off paying an extra $20-$40 per night to stay at a Hyatt or something that offers more comfort and free breakfast (since coffee/food is expensive in Waikiki, this might really be worth it).
I stayed in Aqua Waikiki Wave for a night and wish I hadn't. The hotel itself is beautiful and the rooms are a little dated and the staff is friendly. However if you are in an outer room, you will hear a lot of street noise (buses/garbage trucks, leaf blowers, motorocycles, people) starting around 5am. Being a light sleeper you can see the issue.
Sorry excuse for a hotel. TERRIBLE parking situation. There was a parking garage that fit, maybe, 20 cars? It was full and people were even parked illegally. And all the front desk people were willing to say was "yeah, just double park and get checked in, and then you can figure it out. " The only elevator was "behind the car mechanic in the back". WTH? So, we went ahead and took the shortest route to the lobby, lugging all our luggage up the stairs to the lobby. Inside the lobby, the nightmare continued. I've seen Days Inns and La Quintas that were nicer than this place. There's a desk that says "bellhop" but is there anyone behind it? NOPE. Didn't see a bellhop the entire time we stayed here. So people just had to lug their luggage up and down the stairs to the ghetto parking garage all day. The hallways aren't very well ventilated and its humid and smells! The carpet is old and worn and the walls are cheaply painted. Lighting is florescent and there are no security cameras. We got a suite with 3 beds and the sliding door to one of the bedrooms was completely missing an entire panel so we couldn't get any privacy because it wouldn't close. The bathroom looks like it had recently been renovated, but when I went to shower, there was a USED bar of soap! Makes you wonder what else the maid service missed when they cleaned the room. The television is PATHETIC. 3 beds, but only one 32" LCD TV and one 22" LCD TV. There are four channels. No freakin' joke.
I have read a lot of misleading reviews about this hotel. Please do not be fouled by them. The staff was very VERY friendly except for one lady at the front counter. Asian lady (dont have her name) just needs better training. All staff was very helpful and friendly from check in to check out. My son and I had a GREAT stay this last week. We didn't wanna leave. The lady at the concierge desk for so super sweet and gave us great info about the tours we purchased. We felt very positive about w our choices and the money we spent. (Waikiki is a money pit) but very well worth it. We wanted to especially thank the room service people especially Marilyn. She was ever so sweet, so professional and loving. She gave us the best care and service ever. We had the best experience here at this hotel. Mahalos to all the staff. Hope to visit again soon and will stay here again. Mahalo xoxo.
Loved it♡ everything was nice. shuttles, towels, dvds, gym, everything. so great, can walk to the beach, can walk to the mall, everything is here.
The staff here was amazing! Brenda the house keeper was on point everything was always in tack. I even enjoyed watching the new markets place construction workers build so fast every morning to see so much progress! The front desk staff was all very nice. Praked in the parking lot on sit. Yes I would totally come again.
A ripoff hotel lots of bad financial transaction you do not know what you really owe. This company overcharged my bank account. The services are not of the standard expected for the price. A scam when you ask the clerks what are you paying for. The charges are never accurate. You will never know what you are paying for. Fraud with parking charge are excessive.
Our first time to waikiki, we stayed at this hotel. At night it was HOT, if you open balcony, its super loud outside, this place (waikiki) never sleeps. Few days passed, we got upgraded to better room, corner room, higher floor. Less noise, better location. Rooms are clean, staff is friendly. Its a 3 star hotel. Great if you're on a budget.
This is a lousy hotel. Perhaps the worst hotel I had stayed at. Their cleanliness is OK. Their facilities are functional. For a 3-star hotel I give them a 7/10 for their hardware. But as a service business, their software is waaaaaaaaaaaaaaay too bad. Yes, I mean their people, their staff are the worst I have dealt with. Here are two example from my personal experience: 1. The front desk girl lied to our faces on the first day. We rented some baby stuff from a rental company. They were delivered right before we checked in (around 8:00pm). But when we checked in, the front desk girl (around 25 year old) told us they are not here. We called the rental company, they are closed for business. We were so disappointed because we went to Hawaii for my daughter's 1-year birthday and without the baby stuff we can do nothing. But after we had a short dinner and went back to the hotel (around 9:30pm), the same girl told us our stuff had arrived while we were out. We knew she was lying right away because the rental company closed at 5:00 there is no way they were here while we were having dinner. And the second day the manager of rental company called us (because we complained in the voicemail) and confirmed we were the first they delivered on that day. We were very surprised. The girl was too lazy to take a look at the storage room (10 ft. Away behind her) so she just told us it's not here. 2. The front desk lady was very rude to my request.
Impossible to find even a space to drop off luggage. Unhelpful staff. Rigid rules to make life impossible.
Location was great. If you don't mind a huge construction site adjacent to the hotel that operates Mon-Fri 7am-6pm and Sat 8am-6pm. Love those jackhammers! Close to many shops and restaurants and "close enough" to the beach. Our flight got in early and we had called to see if we could check in early. They said we could, but our rooms were still occupied by the previous guests. At noon, we called to see if they had checked out and were told they had. I asked if we could get a huge favor and see if those rooms could be cleaned next. At 2:00pm, we went up to the desk to see if they were ready and were abruptly told "Not until 3:00pm. " I asked if rooms normally took 3 hours to clean and I had spoken with the guest service manager who assured me the rooms were being cleaned since we had family that flew in at 6am and had gotten them a hotel to rest in, but they had to check out at 11am. One of the two elevators was broken 3 out of the 6 days we were there (every other day). The concierge told us to take the service elevator as the lobby would fill up with guests who had just checked in, making it impossible to get up since there were 15 floors and it stopped on each floor on the way up and again on the way down. We'd gladly take the stairs but 15 floors is quite a hike. On Wednesdays they do have a nice cocktail hour/reception. It'd be nice to have it every day vs just one day a week. Our rooms were clean and our room attendant was wonderful and sweet.
Decent hotel for the price. Very convenient location in the heart of downtown Waikiki and around a mile from Waikiki beach. If you are booking via hotwire, be careful about hidden charges, I was charged an extra convenience fee for amenities offered by the hotel (free Wi-Fi! among others) over and above the money I paid online using hotwire.
If you want to stay at a place that's the closest to Marukame Udon, this would be the place. If you want to stay at a place that's loud during the night, even on the 8th floor, this would be the place. If you want to stay at a place that's got the impossible underground parking underneath the hotel, this would be the place. Yes, I would say location wise in Waikiki, it's centralized. Downstairs it's the internnational marketplace (make sure you bargain with them, there are great little gems here for tourists if you don't want to go to the Aloha stadium) The place is so centralized, it's very inconvenient to park here and if you have lots of luggage, it's even worse. To take a service elevator, you have to find someone with a card key. So if you have strollers, kids, wheelchair, I'd say good luck because they have minimal staff here. Oh speaking of staff, yes most of them are friendly. The Samoan guy who helps with the baggage is extremely nice as well as the other guy at the bell desk. But I can't say the same about the skinny guy who works here over the counter. I did supposedly get a complimentary upgrade here. We go the room at the end of the hall that overlooks Kuhio and Marukame Ramen. I booked my reservation through Amextravel but according to the guy over the counter, all other business if not booked direct with them is through Orbitz. Again, yes it was loud where we were but the room was large. Our room was dated. Really dated.
Very nice experiance at this hotel, staff was excellent, room clean and modern. Two blocks from everything! No complaints from me, other people have complained about this hotel, but if you want peice and quiet go out in the country and find a hotel out of the city.

Very nice rooms, odd but interesting design and furnishings. Great bar and restaurant. A few things need to be changed for me to return again though. 1. Bed placement is difficult for the person on one side of the bed. To close to the wall. 2. No in room coffee maker. Deal breaker for us. 3. Couch is very uncomfortable, useable but worthless to sit on.
