Hotel was dirty, sticky microwave/bedside tables/surfaces. Splattered coffee on walls. Water damaged dirty bathroom, parking is hard/impossible to find even after paying 35 a night to park. No open desk for quick inquiries, have to wait 30+ minutes at peak times to even get help with basic things like room key issues ect. I would not recommend this hotel if you’re looking for a nice place to stay. If you’re looking to crash, the linen was clean. I was stressed out on my vacation between the rooms being uncomfortable/unclean and not wanting to leave with my car so I wouldn’t lose my parking spot. I did bring this up to management and got a few free breakfasts so I guess that’s a plus.

Great service on arrival!

Spent two nights in their Kona Tower room with a queen bed and pull out sofa bed. Bedding was comfortable. Room was a bit small but did the job I needed it for. Loved the close proximity to the Ala Moana Shopping Center because food availability in the hotel is pretty much non-existent. There is a Starbucks in the hotel but service is very slow. Overall my stay was pleasant and I would definitely stay here again. Didn't interact much with any of the staff so no rating on that.

Took advantage of the downtown location to walk to lunch/dinner, and shopping at the mall. It was great. Room was clean and Starbucks located at the lobby.

I was amazed with the beautiful renovation this hotel been through. They have come into the 21st century with key cards for elevators and rooms. Alot of spending in the gift shops and clothing stores. The Star Bucks draws a big crowd especially in the mornings. You can have "me" time for massages, mani-pedis and getting a haircut or color! Stay fit at the pool or fitness center. The 36th Floor is fine dining and a bar to spend time with your loved one!

This hotel connects to Ala Moana mall with an overpass. Staff is super friendly. Room is kinda small. Toiletries could’ve included at least tooth brushes and shampoo/ conditioner. Only had soap, body wash, lotion and a shower cap. Towels were thin. Bed was comfortable. Pillows were tiny. AC shuts on and off and is loud enough for you to notice.

Very poor customer services, our room was dirty there was food in the refrigerator and the type of room was not what I paid for. Took almost two hours to check-in. When a problem is reported the employee just try to bully you in to excepting.

Splurged for a staycation for my kids’ birthdays. We went down to the pool on a Saturday around 3 and the pool was closed because someone had an accident in the pool. Attendant told us it’ll be done cycling that night so the pool will open regular time Sunday. Got dressed again and went down around 10am on Sunday and was told the pool is still closed. When we finally got to the pool it was so overly chlorinated. My kids only swam for about 45 minutes and wanted to leave. Their eyes were red and burning throughout the night. I chose this hotel based on the fact it had a pool that was newly renovated. Went to the front desk and asked if it was possible to get a pool pass to come back another day but they don’t do that. We got offers for free breakfast so we accepted that.
They also seemed to be back to full capacity with the amount of people seen coming and going. The check in line at 5pm was almost out the door, even with 4 front desks open. The elevators were always over crowded and it didn’t seem like they were all operating. If you didn’t get on at the lobby, going up, you might have to wait a few times to get into the elevator. Same for going down. They have signs saying to follow social distancing and stay 6 feet apart and not get in the elevators if there are 2 people inside. The elevators were often packed full of people standing shoulder to shoulder.

This hotel puts a lot of effort into their amenities, not their rooms. We had to request another room due to the room being dirty. Beds are hard, pillows are small. Housekeeping does not do a good job. My family booked 3 rooms. We will not stay again.

Always have a great stay at this hotel. Already booked my room for July my last few days in Hawaii before I make the move to Utah. Thank you for always being friendly and accommodating.

I've stayed here three times and always had a pleasant stay. The staff and security are always nice and there is a decent parking garage.

I will NEVER stay here again and I would NEVER recommend this hotel if ANYONE. They stuffed us in the smallest room possible where we didn’t even have room to fully open our suitcase. Our bed was like sleeping on the floor and the staff was not helpful and had an attitude about everything. Don’t stay here.

Stayed for 1 week and thoroughly enjoyed our time. Rooms are tidy and well maintained. Koa at the valet parking was awesome along with all of his colleagues. Location is excellent with easy access to transport and restaurants/shopping.

Very comfortable and well appointed, my husband is recovering from eye surgery so we are here for ten days and the staff have been awesome. They offer a good kamaaina rate which is very good.
Signatures Steak House was excellent except we had to wait one hour for our entree due to a large party who came in.
We will definitely come back next time we fly over from Kauai, hopefully for pleasure rather then medical reasons,

Now this is a hotel. Staff were welcoming and professionall to the point, ready to serve. Rooms were great, my safe didn't work at first but one phone call and within minutes it was fixed, I appreciated that. The view both night and day breathe taking. Right in the heart of all attractions and transportation is easy or just walk. Right on top of all malls you will appreciate that. It's the packaged hotel has everything.

Very nicely located in downtown Honolulu. Connected to the Ala Moana mall which has great shopping and restaurants, make sure you check out the Japanese food court! The room could use a renovation. There seemed to be rust in some parts of the bathrooms including the shower head and the soap tray. Overall really enjoyed my stay there.

Great place. Clean and spacious rooms. The merger was also excellent. The food is really tasty and the service is really good. The hotel's location is really good, and close to major axes. The pool and the spa were also lovely. In short, a great place.

Went to a 70's band reunion dance party in the hibiscus room. Service was good. Seating was a little too close, larger people had a hard time getting down the rows to the dance floor which is probably unavoidable due to the turnout. So I would assume that the layout was chosen by the event coordinator. Restrooms super clean and well supplied and attended to insure cleanliness which was greatly appreciated by the 300 plus wahine who were also attending the event.

Go see Evalani (daytime) and Jasmin (swing), they were very friendly and helpful! Malia is another friendly staff that will assist you with activities/itinerary. This hotel worked for our vacation/business trip. Very convenient to both reasons we went to Oahu. This hotel is.

Excellent stay. Rooms clean and nicely arranged. Walkout balcony with great view of ocean (albeit still one or two buildings obstructing a small portion of view). Breakfast was included in my room rate — large selection of food. There was small variance with the food, but selection size covered that. I think the cost of breakfast if paid is between $15-$20. It's worth the value, just don't think I could do the family there daily on that cost. The top level had a nice restaurant that you can dress up for or typical hawaiian gear. Connected to the mall via sky walk. Parking available… Was extremely full during my stay, but hotel staff assisted very nicely.

Clean, comfortable hotel with a contemporary look. It's a great place to stay if you want to be close to the beach and shopping but don't want to deal with the tourist crowds of Waikiki. The breakfast buffet is decent, and there are plenty of other options nearby. If you're running the Honolulu Marathon, this is the closest you can stay to the starting line. The elevators can be slow at times.

Very clean and easy to get around. There's elevators and bathrooms to the left when you first come in, rooms to the right and straight ahead, and an escalator if you head straight. There's a Starbucks and information desk on the floor below, and the convention center is within walking distance if you exit from that floor. There's a pool and restaurants upstairs. Overall, it's pretty easy to find your way around this hotel. Good organization and nice atmosphere.

Located next to Ala Moana Center, the hotel is convenient for avid shoppers. The hotel also has the signature prime steakhouse located on the top floor. The happy hour specials are a good deal. The $25 rib eye was tasty and done well. The other appetizers were excellent as well. Service was good and the view was awesome. We will be returning.

Very clean and comfortable Hotel. The location is really great. Very close to public transportation and also use from the walking distance to the beach. Checking is very convenient and fast. Also the people at the reception desk are very nice. There is a Starbucks in the first floor of the hotel which makes life so much easier if you're looking for a space to just chill for a bit. Also there is a very nice souvenir shop on the first floor which you can get some Hawaiian souvenirs. So far I have had a very great experience and I would definitely come back here on the future.

Pretty a convenience location. They offered free parking if we stay at the hotel. Other nearby hotels did charge for that. It’s closed to the mall so it’s very easy to find something to eat, especially late at night. The Japanese food market was awesome. I went there everyday. Instead of staying in Waikiki, this location has more to offer.

I am impressed with the cleanliness of the rooms, fitness center and the Lobby. I have a room on of of the higher floors, which had a wonderful view of the ocean. I do allow a few more minutes for the elevators as there are more stops of course but this is the case in any hotel when staying on a top floor. Well worth the ride!

Rooms are great, very clean and well maintained. Staff is extremely friendly and very happy to help should you need anything. Housekeeping staff is very down to earth and hospitable. Location is great, can't beat being so close to the beach, shopping and dining! All around great experience, keeps us coming back.

Excellent facility for any kind of convention. Banquet staff are amazing and give fabulous customer service. Guest rooms are comfortable and attractive. Food is delicious! My new favorite thing is the sundries store, which is really a mini Foodland! And the Starbucks downstairs serves alcohol in the afternoon/evening.

Nice but relatively inexpensive property for close to Waikiki Beach area (you are just outside of the beach corridor). My wife and I have stayed here 4 times now. It is adjacent to the huge Ala Moana open air shopping mall, they even have a second floor walkway over to the mall, so you don't have to cross the busy street. Rooms in our tower are not large, but comfortable and clean. Our room had a 'partial' view of the ocean, I smile when I say that. A local beach park is across the street. If you want to eat, I suggest the Ala Moana food court where there must be 30+ restaurants of every food type imaginable and is very busy.

Was with a group when I stayed, and when our rooms were getting ready, they allowed us to stay in a large open room for our group. Not too expensive at all either.

For the price it’s one of my favorite hotels to stay at. There is a connection to the Ala Moana Mall so getting some food from the 2 food courts or any of the restaurants was super easy. The parking garage gets full pretty quickly, it’s a bit of a walk to the beach but Lyft is cheap. The restaurant on the top floor is excellent and the Starbucks downstairs in the lobby is great/convenient. The rooms are a good size and the balconies were nice. The building also has good views.

Upscale establishment. A disco RUMOURS is directly accessible in the hotel. A Starbucks and an ABC store too.
A gateway leads to the ALA MOANA CENTER.

Unexpected events landed us here. It was fantastic! The staff even helped get us through our airline dilemmas. They went above and beyond for us.

We stayed in a reduced rate room. This meant that we saved about $30/night but also house keeping was not included in our stay. It's nicely situated next to the Ala Moana Shopping Center and not too far from Wakiki. The facilities has a Starbucks, fine dining restaurant, breakfast buffet, shops, massage and more inside. Parking is kind of expensive ($20/day). But overall a nice place to stay. Take bus 20 from the airport to the hotel ($2-3 ride).

Lots of cupboards, and spacious rooms (the suites at least). 1 king size bed, and a pull-out queen bed. Very fast and knowledgeable service. Elevators can take a fair amount of time to arrive unless using the ones in the back. Has two pay washer/dryer facilities that qr rarely busy.

Visited this hotel for a Probate seminar then again to check-out Rumours (Club is closing down in 2018). Parking across the street by Macy's is convenient and plenty. The hotel is well-kept and clean. I work in Vegas as a banquet server — so I was pretty annoyed that the dishes were filed high and the coffee/food stations were never once cleared nor checked during the seminar. No place to put dirty china. Rumours used to be hang-out in my college days. I visited it for nostalgia. Last time I was there was in the 90's. Sad to see it go — specially since I heard it's the last dance club left in town. So, where do the younger generations go to dance in HNL nowadays?

Our first time staying here — everything was great. Great view. Great staff. Great location. We've stayed in a number of places around Waikiki but we'll definitely make this our go-to hotel when we come back.

We stayed there from Oct 27 till Nov 7, 2017 and we loved it just as we always do. Location is awesome and my husband always enjoys his walks every morning around the park n through Waikiki. Then when he is done, he gets cleaned up n we head down to have breakfast and we fell in love with Ricki, we sit in his area all the time. He is the best. The staff people are amazing n the valet people, well they r the best, most friendly, helpful we have ever met. We love the easy access n walk to the mall. Wonderful restaurants n many stores there. We think that Ala Moana hotel is the best most convenient hotel in the Waikiki area. Try it, you'll love it, especially the people. They still have the aloha spirit.

Attended an annual Christmas party at the Alarm Moana Hotel. The rooms were very nice and the staff were helpful. It was a bit hot, not sure if the AC was broken or just off in our banquet room. The proximity to the shopping center was nice and convenient for last minute party prep!

I went because of a social event. The food was a 7 out of 10. The waiter that was taking care of our table was quick to clear the used dishes, and filled our cups frequently. He could have been a bit more personal, and talk a little more, but his silence was fine. There's lots of parking. I would attend another event held here.

I didn't stay at the Ala Moana hotel. I went dancing at Rumors the night club in the hotel. I love this place. Great music. Oldies to now. The club is spacious with lots of tables and chairs. Parking is abundant. The staff is super friendly.

Beautiful hotel. The staff is extremely pleasant. Helpful, smiling, welcoming! The ocean views are spectacular. You can also see some of the mountains and high rises. The double beds are a little on the small side (for sharing), but are very comfortable. The tub/shower is a gigantic step in and out so be ready. Overall love love love!

I have stayed here multiple times. Conveniently located adjacent to Ala Moana shopping center and across from the Convention Center. Close to Waikiki but not in its congestion. Nice mountain and ocean views from upper stories. Clean and neat. Can't beat the price.

I was surprised that this is only a 3 star hotel, probably one of the best 3 stars I've stayed at. Location is amazing and has bridge to Ala Moana shopping center. There's a Starbucks downstairs which was super convenient. Probably my favorite thing was the friendly/helpful service… they saw we had 2 toddlers with us and let us check in 3 hours early, they also let us keep our bags at the hotel the next day at no charge AND let us use a "hospitality room" (one of there own hotel suites) for us to shower and test before they ordered our taxi to the airport in the evening. Will definitely be back.

The hotel accommodations were terrible. We got locked out of our room for 45 minutes one morning and they did not offer anything for our trouble. We had catered events and the food was all bland and cold. The internet kept going out and there was construction outside our room the entire time. We stayed in the hotel for 8 nights. We asked for a later check out and they offered us to stay in room for a half day for $100. I declined so they gave me til noon to get out. I asked if they had the room booked (because they just offered us a half day) and he said yes… I will never return to this hotel and I will NOT be recommending it to anyone. Much nicer places for the same cost!

We booked the Ala Moana as we had been before for a couple of nights and it is convenient. Rooms small, view of car park but a reasonable price. Facilities were good and the shower was best I have had in a long time… almost a massage shower? Easy walk to Waikiki either by road or beach and road. My complaint is booking in. We arrived in Honolulu at 6 in the morning and realised we couldn't check in till 3pm. Ok… but couldn't we organise everything so we could just come back and get key… not till rooms are done! So we arrived back at 3 after walking all day, no sleep for 36 hours and were met with a queue of 50 people waiting to book in. It took me 44.5 mins to get to the counter to get my key. I have no idea what all the holdups were but the checking In at this hotel needs revising. The queue was even longer when I got my key!
At checkout I was the only one in queue and still had to wait to hand over my key while the receptionist was fiddling with papers on the desk. Not happy with staff at the front desk.

The Ala Moana hotel has been recently acquired by Mantra, an Australian based hotel group. The hotel has been recently renovated in both of their towers. They offer different room types that works out great for most travelers. The hotel is very conveniently attached to the Ala Moana shopping center that provides hundreds of stores and eating options. The hotel also offers it's own restaraunts, night club and Starbucks. Great option if you do not want to stay in Waikiki.

What gives! It seems like the rates have gone up, service has gone down, and the facilities haven't changed. Despite this, I still come here. Why? They have good (with kama'aina) prices, lots of parking, and a great location (if you want to stay close to, but out of Waikiki). I still recommend Ala Moana to visiting family and friends. The rooms have great views on the ocean, mountains, and skyline for the price. Parking is shared with Ala Moana Shopping Center, and besides weekends, am always able to find parking. It's just a hop away from Ala Moana Beach Park and, unless you plan on visiting Waikiki often, is easier access to the freeway. I'm hoping they become more competitive, or don't raise their rates with all of the condo and hotel construction at Ala Moana hotel!

Noisy traffic, sirens all night, room was too small. Chinese restaurant was horrid, staff were very rude. I guess they don't like anyone there other then Asians, we felt discriminated against. Breakfast buffet was super fantastic. Swimming pool was very small. Reception staff were not very friendly. Would not stay there again.

We dined at signature restaurant on the 36th floor. Considering there are 8 elevators, the elevator service is very slow. The lobby is clean and well maintained, and the Starbucks is an huge improvement. Dinner was good, not great. The good food is unfortunately brought down by bad service that doesn't belong in a fine dining restaurant such as this. The views are incredible, but the restaurant is small and narrow, which makes for very noisy dining, especially since the live music at the bar is piped into the rest of the restaurant at far too high volume levels.

Convenient location next to Ala Moana Center. The lobby has been updated in the past few years and the meeting room area has been as well. Staff is friendly and accommodating. Food is pretty good.

We have an ocean view room. There is a bridge that takes you to the Ala Moana Shopping Center. The staff is very friendly.
There is a Starbucks which is so convenient. There is a gym. The fitness equipment are new and a great place to work out.

Very well managed hotel. All staff were extremely friendly and helpful. Rooms were up to date and very well kept. Within walking distance of most of Wakkiki shopping and activities.

The Ala Moana Hotel is one of the best cost efficient hotels around Honolulu equipped with different luxuries such as the pool. With good spirit of aloha service, it's also right next to the Ala Moana Center. Very convenient and cost friendly compared to other places.

Ala Moana hotel is in walkable distance to the ala Moana shopping center. The hotel has restaurants and nightclub inside of it. I haven't stayed over night. But the common areas are really clean and the elevators work really well!

We love staying at Ala Moana Hotel. The staff are always helpful and friendly. We stayed on the 12th floor (1230) and we couldn't complain at the mountain view. The room was really clean with two full beds, tv, microwave, a mini fridge, and your bathroom. We always choose to valet and their valet staff are the best. We lost our valet ticket and they were kind enough to get us a new ticket with no complaints. And they're always offering to help carry anything out.

I liked the view and the atmosphere. Its in a great location with tons of stuff to do. Comfortable beds and pillows and nice and clean. Love the massage chairs in the lobby!

Nice but somewhat dated hotel. Firm beds, but limited pillow selection. Friendly service and very convenient location adjacent to Ala Moana mall and 1.5 blocks from Honolulu Convention Center. Fitness center has high quality equipment that's also a bit out-of-date. In-hotel dining a bit limited, but plenty of options nearby.

It is a nice and comfortable hotel, but it only have one small gym and pool which closes at 8pm. The staff is very kind. There are several malls in the area and the Ala Moana Park is pretty close. But you need to walk a little bit more to hit the Waikiki beach and the magestic Diamond Head.

Room 946 The rooms are updated but ours were terribly noisy. Sirens and construction noise around the clock. The room was tiny. The maids would just rinse out mugs and glasses instead of giving us new ones. There aren't very many decent places to eat neat here unless you enjoy chain restaurants. They make you check out towels and threaten to charge you $20 if they aren't returned by 6. The pool keeps silly hours. Open late and close early. The Chinese restaurant and the bar/club Rumors are dirty and old and haven't been updated since the 70's. The closest beachest are crappy and gross. The hotel has a ridiculous policy of charging an extra $50 ler additional person staying in the room. The people at the bell desk were terribly unhelpful and lazy. Lastly, they treat the military people staying here terribly. They design policies to rip them off and price gouge them at every turn. This hotel has no redeeming qualities and I wouldn't recommend it to anyone!

The hotel was simply a joy to stay at. I got a top floor penthouse by Airbnb. The room was spacious, the staff was very friendly. Thoroughly very satisfying.

High cost of civilian networks in a economy hotel is easy to access to browse there are footbridges connected with Hawaii's largest shopping center Ala Moana Center is very convenient for shopping dining "micro credit: HiHonolulu"

Surprise theatrical performances, excellent food, shopping for every wallet, and fireworks on Friday evenings with a background of the beautiful Ala Moana beach — — best mall experience ever.

I can't believe some kind of nazi behavior will happen in a shopping center! Maybe because your security guards are way over-staffed, so they don't feel they actually exist if they don't create some BS. On the other hand, when some people got robbed at the mall (THAT’S RIGHT, PEOPLE GOT ROBBED AT THE MALL), the security are useless and incompetent! Seems all their paychecks are used for bullying your dearest customers! Starting from this morning, they prevented people using power outlet at a rest and phone charging area?!, There are simply not enough outlets, so people sitting on one side has to share the wall outlet, even so, there still isn't enough to use. And now, even this limited/poor service is also deprived! Starting from today, the security made their own brand new policy, they can kick out whoever they want, and they have the control of how long a person can sit at the rest area, where there is plenty of space and the person did not bother anyone but to surf on laptop?! This is the most ridiculous thing I have ever seen at any shopping center at any state of America! This totally destroyed my good impression of Hawaii! A vacation place for people to relax! As a shopping center you totally do not have any respect for customers! I can't believe after I threw thousands of dollars at your shopping center, you guys treated me like a dog and I can't even use your cheap power outlet!

Overrated, overpriced, and crowded! I clearly remember when Ala Moana was a place for middle class families. They had a grocery store called Foodland, a stationery store called Hopaco, a high end department store called Liberty House, and a budget department store called Woolworth's among others. Sometime in the last 20 or so years, mainland corporations decided that because this shopping center made more profit than any other, they just had to kick out all the local independent retailers and replace them with chains and luxury stores. Now, all you see is Nordstrom, Neiman Marcus, and Bloomingdales! Keep it up, General Growth and you will lose Hawaii residents forever! Oh but you aren't listening anyway, you are too busy counting your obscene profits.

Extremely slow internet; door locks are fussy — had to go to front desk twice to get them to issue new keys; Bath towels are old and bare; hairs in the bathroom left over from prior guest.

I stayed in the hotel for just one night for a business purpose. I was greeted outside in a nice/friendly, aloha manner. I was checked in swiftly by a friendly staff member. The room on the 6th floor was very nice. It was clean, odorless, nice decor and ammenities. The room had a small balcony with a little table and chairs. I could see the ocean from there although there are some other partially obstructing buildings. I was able to use the free Wi-Fi and the TV was nice. I particularly like that I was able to use the sleep function on the remote. The bed and pillows were comfortable. When I walked by some of the housekeepers they gave me a nice Aloha welcome also. I had a meal of appetizers in the restaurant upstairs. In the morning I had breakfast at the restaurant downstairs. When it came time for check out the paperwork was done swiftly and the valet returned my vehicle quickly. I would return here again.

I love this shopping center. It makes every girls ' heart wants to beat. You really get everything from low budget to Armani, Gucchi and co. A true Shoppingtempel.

Why are you coming to Honolulu? If you are coming on business, for shopping, or really for anything BUT a lush Hawaiian vacation, this is a great hotel. It is quiet, clean, and has a great location for The Bus, the convention center, and, obviously, the mall. You can save a ton on dining by visiting a grocery store instead of dining out each evening, and Ala Moana park is just down the street. Staying here makes me feel like I have a small efficiency apartment in the city. The staff is great too. But, if you are coming for a vacation, beware! This is definitely not the hotel you are looking for. Look for something further down Waikiki.

The staff is terrible. They are exemplary when it comes to poor customer service with their laziness, disinterest and rudeness towards clients. The hotel itself is located next to the Ala Moana shopping center which is nice, but as you try to find your way around, you notice its also surrounded by "massage" parlours. You're not at the beach. I didn't get the room I had reserved, the internet didn't work and the sound proofing was poor. Finally, the maids do not clean the rooms properly. Its quite shocking. You can get much better for the same price in Honolulu. Don't let them spoil your time in Hawaii.

Like most other people, we found the front desk person who checked us in to be very curt and seemingly unhelpful. After working out details she did provide an upgrade to a room with an ocean view. Like I've seen other people say, the housekeeping staff has been great! No problem with any reasonable request, polite and helpful. I tipped them each day I was so happy with their service.

This winged Mall hotel. But this somewhat off Waikiki.
