Reviews of Sheraton Raleigh Hotel 3*
What goes on at night in this place ruins homes! staff not professional at all. Staff should be reviewed carefully they flirt beyond with married men and invite them to after hours down the street.
Stayed weekend of Dec16-18th 2022. $265 a night. Room smelled of dampness. Condensation on the inside of the windows so much, I had to put a towel on the floor. No mini fridge. No microwave. $265 a night? not again.
I've been trading with Mrs Hoskey and her company and it would be selfish of me if I don't recommend them. With their well-guarded signals, approved withdrawals and forever active strategies and signals it made trading easy and I am proud to say they made me a trading Guru. I have been able to make thousands of dollars weekly. It assured you would earn good returns when you trade with Hoskey April Contact — {hoskey44april @gmail. Booked a block of rooms and hospitality suite for our wedding guests in October 2021. No complaints. The entire staff was friendly and helpful. Just what you hope for in the hospitality industry. The bellman was super helpful in helping us unload tons of stuff.
There were a couple mishaps but the general manager, Leon Cox, went above and beyond to make things right. It seems like a great team. Leon bought us lunch and when I went to give the waiter a tip, he said that it was taken care of. I said, I know lunch was paid for but I wanted to make sure you were taken care of and he said Leon always takes care of us. What a great response! 😊
The rooms are good size and clean though unremarkable in decor and could use updating.
I know Sheraton is owned by Marriott but the difference was night and day. We were planning to use the Marriott next door but they were so unresponsive. Didn’t return calls when we had a day/time set for a call. Turned out for the best. Will use this Sheraton again. Thanks Leon and team!
Great location in the heart of the City of Oaks! 🍂 Very close to everything in the Triangle (within 30 minutes). 🚙 🚌 Nice ballrooms for meetings, banquets, conferences and parties!
Wess was the BEST super nice friendly guy! met us right when we walked thru doors. — even told me I could get my $15 back for parking. Since it was weekend! it's free parking! Rooms are very nice. The only thing I would change is add NEW pillows. Everyone was very kind& professional.
We had outstanding service while enjoying my husband's retirement celebration on June 26th. The staff members are friendly and very professional. Chef Alonzo's entrees were so tender, juicy, and delicious! The Executive Suite was very comfortable, spacious, and clean! 🎈
Thank you to the entire Sheraton staff at the Sheraton Raleigh Hotel… you all are Amazing hard-working people!
🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
Thank you again for making my husband's retirement celebration Extra Special! ❤💕❤
Sincerely, 🎁
The Smith Family.
Room excellent. Beds fantastic. Service superb.
Had a great stay in room 1414 with my fiancé Saturday night! Everyone was very friendly and helpful. Comfy bed. Also, great view! Lawrence at the front desk was great.
Not a great experience so far. We are here for volleyball tourney. There is one elevator working, went to use the stair well and could not get out. Huge fire hazard! Not happy.
Room 916 have is have a nice view but the tub don’t drain. I was double charged and still waiting to get that fixed. The hotel itself is nice and I like the location.
Beds are comfy. Rooms are small for 4 people but clean. Hotel is gorgeous. Parking is expensive. Staff is phenomenal and very attentive.
Great site for hosting an event.
Great place and nice services and costs very much better place and the food.
First off, the people here are amazing — very helpful and genuinely interested in making things right. I have always had an amazing experience with the people here. The building, on the other hand, has always had issues. The elevators never work (or never work efficiently) and the escalator (until it was replaced with stairs) NEVER worked. Now, however, I am in a room with a "known noise issue", that cannot be resolved. So, I'm paying for a room in which I will not be able to sleep. And, if they move me, then some other poor soul will be stuck with this room for the remainder of this conference. How crappy is that?
Great hotel and staff. You must go to Jimmy V’s Osteria and bar.
This is a great hotel, awesome location in the heart of downtown Raleigh. I’m here for a work conference. Check in took 2 minutes and they upgraded my room.
Great workers customer service is top notch.
I was SO pleased with my stay here. I screwed up the reservation when I scheduled it and didn’t realize it until I showed up to check in. I thought the trip was ruined and that I had lost the amount I had prepaid for the room. The manager Tyler not only fixed it, but was so kind and helpful. She showed so much compassion and kindness. All of the staff were incredibly helpful and friendly during our stay. Every time I’m in Raleigh this is where I will stay.
Very nice, great location.
The Sheraton Raleigh hosted our Southern Family wedding this past weekend! Awesome place and awesome staff! Kudos! Well done!
I highly recommend the Sheraton Raleigh Hotel for any occasion! The service is excellent, and the atmosphere is lovely! Jimmy Vs Osteria and Bar is a beautiful place to dine while engaging in good conversation.
This review relates more to the Sheraton Central reservation line. I am now an hour and a half later than my check in time because the representative I spoke with neglected to mention that check in times are subject to availability. I had a reservation for last night. I called the day before I was checking in to ask if I would be charged for the night if I could not check in until the next morning. The gentleman said that he would just change my check in time and I would not be charged. He didn't mention that they may not honor the requested time if they are booked up. I am supposed to be at an event right now, instead of sitting in the lobby. This is not the service I expect from a Sheraton Hotel and will certainly make me think twice before I book a hotel with this company in the future.
Beautiful wedding venue! Situated in the of downtown we had a birds eye view of Hopscotch fete going on. The Governor's room was our venue and just right for 80 people. Wedding was in hall across the hall and cocktail hr was in middle. Staff was attentive and prompt with requests. For staff to greet you at the door says a lot about the place.
Overall stay was good. Clean room, comfortable bed. Only 1 of 3 elevators were working which meant long waits (about 15 mins). If we were on a low floor it wouldn't have been too big an issue. I would stay again.
Nothing really special, nothing bad (thats a good thing). Its a hotel with a great down-town location in Raleigh. This is within walking distance of quite a few restaurants. They seem to be currently undergoing some renovations. The parking deck across the street is pretty convenient. Rooms are pretty standard for a good hotel. We did have to request a refrigerator and there was no microwave in the room.
The only decent thing about this hotel is its location. The hotel is old and not well maintained. The rooms are cramped, especially the bathroom. There is barely any space to stand in it. The room I had was freezingly cold, set to 60 when I first walked in and never warmed up past 72. I do not find these temperatures comfortable at all, not unless I am wearing a jacket. Maintenance people came in to check and claimed they couldn't help at all, since the central AC didn't have heating enabled and they had no space heaters available. When I was checking out, there was a space heater set up near the reception. Because it was so humid, the door to the room kept getting stuck, I could barely get it to open. Never staying at this hotel again.
This hotel is NOT worth the cost. Beds/Pillows/Linens were nice, but there was no fridge/microwave in the room, no free parking, no included foods (food that was available was overpriced). The elevators (3 total) worked intermittently, and for the number of people in this hotel it was extremely under equipped to move them floor to floor. We had wait times of~10 minutes occasionally. To get to the check in, you MUST take the escalator or elevator, but the escalator was also broken… so that meant more time and more people waiting on one of the elevators The pool was closed as well, which was a major disappointment. Check in/out was problematic, since (as reported) there were only 5 carts to move luggage on, and the staff insisted on loading/unloading with the cart which was annoying, though the staff was very pleasant.
I'd give it a half star or none if I could. So many issues here. The pool was not available to use. Who does pool maintenance in the summer on one of the busiest weekends in Raleigh?! The elevator were messing up! They had 3 elevators for public use. One didn't work at all. The other 2 took for ever! They were so slow. Took 30 mins for one to get to the lobby. Because of the elevator issues, we had to take the stairs often. With that being said, the stairwell was filthy! They actually stored silverware & plated for the restaurant in boxes on the stairs. Some of the staff were extremely rude & very inconsiderate. If you don't like your job, quit. There is no reason to be hateful to the guest. I most definitely will never stay there again, even if it is the last hotel available. I'll also never stay at another Sheraton nation wide.
This hotel is conveniently located right across the street from the convention center in Raleigh, and is an excellent choice if you are attending an event there. My room had a lovely view of downtown. There's a restaurant on the second floor that gets quite busy but is very good (try the steak salad). My only complaint was with the elevators, which were only partially operational all weekend, so there were lots of long waits.
The room is good, we had really fast service when we asked for extra pillows. But they were working on the door when we came in, which made it difficult to get in. Then one of the elevators was down when we first got here. And then the third elevator went down so we only had one elevator on opening day of Supercon. There were a ton of people it took us about 3 hours just to get our stuff to our room. The staff helped as much as they could. So far besides using the stairs, since we are on level 5, it's been perfect. The cafe on 2 has great coffee and the restaurant has really good food.
Wow. I love the Sheraton. The 90s nostalgia is so poignant that I can literally transport myself to that wonderful decade. I love what they have done to the place. It is as beautiful as ever. The smells of the 90s lingers in that hotel so well. Two thumbs up!
This place is horrible the service is terrible I ordered room service and the servant didn't come till a hour later. Then I made reservation for a room online then I called in to make sure I did when I get there they told me I didn't reserve a room. Then the employees was horrible they did not know what they were doing I asked for new sheets they put the old sheets on top of the new sheets thats backwards. Then the food was disgusting my breakfast was nasty my eggs under cooked my pancakes soggy and my coffee wasn't even coffee after I ate all of that I was so sick I thought I had food poisoning then there was bugs in the rooms. Just don't stay here I don't care how much it's a four star hotel it's still horrible the food the service and everything I would not recommend staying here.
Room is clean and spacious and great really, but I’m in night 2 of 6 and can’t sleep again because the elevators are so loud! Even through earplugs it wakes me up throughout the night and they are too booked to move me : (
We stayed here for Animazement a few years back before it had been renovated. It was an okay hotel then. Now it's wonderful. The staff are very welcoming to con-goers and go out of their way to ensure our stay is nice. I highly recommend this girl for next year.
The Sheraton Raleigh is a nice hotel. You can tell it is an older hotel and the staff does a good job keeping it fresh and clean. Rooms appear to be freshly refurnished including furniture and baths.
Very good location. The breakfast buffet has a wide spread. There’s free parking on street after 5pm upto 8am. There’s also a paid car-park if needed. Rooms are modern and big. It’s in downtown, so it’s close to May good restaurants.
This is my go-to when I need to stay in downtown Raleigh. It has newly renovated rooms, and has the Jimmy V's restaurant on property. The staff is great and they are continuing to make new improvements to the property!
Decent hotel with mostly responsive staff. Bathrooms need a bit of an update. For the price I expected more amenities, like a fridge and microwave. A/C was iffy and you got one free bottle of water per day. The hotel is super convenient to several great restaurants so unless you plan to go beyond the downtown area you will never need to drive anywhere. The hotel restaurant offered terrible service so avoid Jimmy V's at all costs. There are too many great places to eat rather than subjecting yourself to bad service.
Nice, older hotel, right in the middle of downtown. Easy walking distance to all the major attractions in Raleigh. TV in room did not work, reported to the front desk but never fixed nor did I hear anything from them. Nice people and I would stay here again. A little pricey but comfortable.
Participated in an event hosted by Triangle Divorce Lawyers. The valets were so sweet and helpful with all of my equipment, unloading and getting it to the designated area. The event was held in the Governor's I and II rooms combined, which was well lit, clean, spacious, and the staff couldn't have been more accommodating.
Busy place with a great location. Good option for dining on the ground floor. I was there for anlarge convention and spent too much time waiting for very slow elevators. If you catch a busy weekend be ready to wait multiple elevator cars before squeezing in!
Good room, good service.
Arrived on Thursday March 22nd. I had originally placed a reservation months ago and asked for an early check in. They told me it was fine, no problem. Got there, and they informed my husband we couldn't check in till 4pm. I was very upset and tired from a long trip. We decided to wait at the hotel, lucky they found us a room. When we got inside the room. It looked very dated. Not what we were expecting for a $180 per night room. The room was very dirty. There were still trash over all the floor and wrappers from the toiletries. The tongs from the ice bucket had mold all over. The tub handle also had mold and the tub itself was noticeably dirty. My main concern was the A. C. Unit, it didn't properly worked. We left it at 68º, left the room and came back and the room was so hot and humid. Overall, it was a bad experience. Not worth the money.
Demetrius greeted us with a great smile. He was very cheerful. When we asked for a refrigerator and had trouble with the t. V. It was taken care of with record speed. Great place to stay.
The hotel is currently under construction so the appearance is a little hard to judge. There is not much space outside at the main door entrance but there is a parking deck across the street and a valet service. The ballrooms are nice and spacious. The food for our event was delicious and replenished quickly. The staff was extremely friendly.
Average hotel. The restaurant does not have a lot of options, and my room was DIRTY! There were stains on the comforter and the towels had hair balls. It was long blonde hair so it wasn't mine or my husbands. The rooms have been updated which was a pro and the view was beautiful. The service staff was awesome but the front desk employees could be nicer. I would not cancel this hotel out, the location is awesome. There are only two other hotels in this area and they are almost double the price. If you need to stay in this part of downtown I would still choose this hotel but based only off of location and price. Just realize you are getting an average hotel not a luxury hotel. Also you have to pay for parking so go ahead and pay the extra bucks and get valet — — it was worth it.
Very nice hotel. The bed was very comfortable, firm but not too firm. The pillows were down type, a little too thin unless you like thin pillows. Very clean rooms, the hallways smell absolutely wonderful. Very pretty hotel, stylish and upscale. Price was very reasonable, service was outstanding. Paid the extra price for the club level upgrade ($35), the lounge and upgraded internet are well worth it. They have dinner and breakfast in the lounge if you upgrade. The food was very good, much better than what would be expected. They keep the lounge stocked with sodas, milk, juices, bottled water, coffee, tea and some light snacks, this alone is more than worth the upgrade price, especially if your stomach is sensitive to local water (and Raleigh water is… yuck). Had an interesting experience as the floor I was staying on was apparently having a party, and my wife, 3yr old and I were not officially invited, but we had to hear it anyways. They have highly visibly posted quiet hours, which the front desk and security did their best to respond to, when the people partying on the floor and in the hallways did not agree with the concept of highly visibly posted quiet hours. In the end, the loud people just went back about their business of being loud (they were essentially, professionally loud), but security responded each time in a very timely manner.
While in Raleigh for work, it started to snow bad, so bad that we decided to return to the hotel so we didn't have to drive in the evening when the snow becomes ice. We came back around lunch time, but we forgot to get food. It was a team of 8 of us that needed food and the manager, Christine, was very kind and accommodating by giving us food as we are weekly travelers and stay at the Sheraton. It was very compassionate and generous for her to help my team with food as it would be very hard to get to other restaurants and get food fast due to the weather. All of the staff is very nice at the hotel.
Came in for a wedding, and I enjoyed my time in the room. The hotel is right on a road where major events, like the New Years Eve celebration, happens. The TV seemed to have some pretty bad connection issues, and was sometimes unwatchable. The bathroom light was also hardwired to the bathroom vent as well, meaning whenever you turn on the light, a loud fan also begins. It became quite annoying, especially late at night.
Came in for a wedding, and I enjoyed my time in the room. The hotel is right on a road where major events, like the New Years Eve celebration, happens. Good location and good quality.
Great location but hotel needs to be updated. Bed in room comfortable but maintenance needs to fix drawer as it kept sliding open. Ice machine at end of hall is non existent. Just an empty room. Service at Jimmy V's very average.
10 years after our wedding reception (in the Sheraton) we went back for a night. The room was lovely, the continental breakfast was good. The only thing unfortunate was the "happy hour" drinks were very pricey IMHO. Otherwise, we had a great time and Jimmy V's restaurant in the lobby was delicious.
The hotel was nice. Room was clean and up to date but there was a fairly bad smell that persisted through my stay. I think it only affected my room. I would stay at the hotel again.
Staying here three nights to attend a convention at the Raleigh conference center. Everyone that works here is super friendly, the rooms are beautiful, the view is amazing, and the entire hotel is very clean. The fitness center is a bit small, but is right next to the pool, so after a workout you can take a dip! The vending machines only take cash, which is tough. The breakfast buffet is okay. Not great, but just okay. The location is very good. Next door to the convention center, very close to some good food options, like the pit, happy hale, and crank arm brewery. I'm thoroughly enjoying my stay.
Pretty nice hotel with good location in downtown Raleigh. Parking was addition which isn't too bad, but free parking is always better. Room was not too bad, but there was sitting water in the tub when we first checked in. There was also candy bar wrappers underneath the table that seemed to be missed by the cleaning staff. Was not that big of a deal, but a clean hotel is important.
Very nice and clean. Comfortable beds. Only problem was the water pressure in the shower was a bit low. The hotel is in downtown so it's very close to many restaurants.
Excellent location even with valet charge for the stay. Walk to your event. Worth it! Room was comfortable. Love the fact of less carpet and more wood floors. Beds comfortable. Thumbs up with Starbucks coffee packs in room. Only con… room phone had static but they offered to have someobe come fix the issue but that didn't effect our enjoyable stay. Will definitely stay again.
Okay so I do reviews for a living along with my day job, so when I got here my room wasn't ready, but that was okay because I had upgraded my room and asked for feather free. Well, my upgrade wasn't on the Club floor, but you want to know what was great — the attitude of the staff about switching me to another floor since they were full and since I didn't need feather free, they'd get me a room right away! Also, they gave me Club floor access and upgrades. Got to the room after valeting my car) which to me is worth it because… 10 dollars more is worth it to do without the stress of knowing I'm not going to hit someone and having to trek to the hotel) we find out there isn't a refrigerator. About 10 minutes later we get a text from Tori asking how we like the room, I ask if there's a hidden refrigerator or if we just use the ice holder — they say they'll go and hunt one down for us and bring it to our room. By 745pm, we have a refrigerator in our room and we're happy about that as some meds have to be refrigerated. Tori was as sweet as pie! Thank you. Our valet and the guy who brought our bags up (Jason? ) was awesome. My only suggestion is to have an ice machine on every floor and not every odd floor, but otherwise great service so far and it's the first night!
I had a last minute booking into a single room on my business trip. The valet was very quick about getting bell service to help me with my bags, the front staff checked me in quickly. I loved my room, nice and modern feel. I enjoyed the hot tub and pool downstairs and the food at the cafe / bar in the lobby was excellent. (I ordered the chicken ravioli) the following morning I went upstairs to the 17th floor where the Clubhouse was for continental breakfast and wow that was a really nice space and great food and nice loung like feel where I got some morning work done in peace. I loved my experience and checking out was also so easy, I actually made it to my work on time (though I thought I was running late) because they got my car so quickly for me. Thank you all for your attentiveness and hospitality. Felt like a mini vacation overnight. :)
The accommodations here seem to be newly redone, so it looks quite nice. There's no complimentary breakfast, and most floors don't have an ice machine where it says there's one. They had chilled our room to 65 degrees, which is quite excessive use of the AC! Other than that, the rooms are clean and beds are comfortable. Good location with many food options nearby.
We had a great experience with every employee we interacted with at the hotel. The room was clean, and the bed was extremely comfortable. The hotel is within walking distance from shops, restaurants, and the Red Hat Amphitheatre. The bar downstairs was nice and had quite a selection of beverages. I'd stay at this hotel again!
The room was very clean and a decent size. I had a pass through door joining my room to another room. Occasionally I could hear my neighbors, but for most part I didn't hear anything. The bathrooms were neatly — and fully — stocked with lotion, shampoo, conditioner and two soaps. There was NO mini fridge, which was a little bit of a bummer since I pump and had no where to store breast milk. I loved the bed and the blankets, very comfortable. Overall very happy with our stay. Would recommend asking if your room has a fridge when booking your stay, if that is something you need.
The elevators get stuck and for 15 floors all they have are three elevators so you will be waiting a really long time for it to arrive if the hotel has a full house. The 2nd floor check in escalator going down was not working so when I was waiting 30 minutes for one of the three elevators to go down one floor I ended up walking aroumd the city block to get to the back side of the hotel to get to the first floor. It was pretty misrible.
Staff are very nice. Room is dated and carpets are filthy. Housekeeping forgot wash clothes and left a stain on the cover of, the bed. Ewwww. Escalators are broken and one of the elevators is broken causing traffic jams. Pool chairs are filthy. Not quite the experience I expected but ok for the priceline deal.
The rooms are fine, the lobby is lovely and the food was good. The service, however, was way below expectations. Also, the elevators were slow beyond belief and one escalator was broken. Get it together, Sheraton. You can do better.
One elevator broken. One escalator under repair. Rooms are dated and look stained from years of use. They gave us a room key that lasted 24 hours, even though our reservation was for 3 nights. Not impressed…
The lobby and staff were spectacular. We had a small issue with a room and it was quickly fixed. The main issue with the room was the overall size and lack of amenities though. And that's what leads to an only three star rating.
I come here every year and the Sheraton has yet to give me a reason not to. It's my 4th year of staying here and the rooms are clean as always, check in was fast and the front desk concierge was very friendly. While they do not offer free breakfast, the cafe downstairs has freshly baked pastries, fruit, bagels, ect. Faye's positive energy at the cafe was a great way to start my morning!
The staff at this hotel are wonderful and incredibly helpful. The rooms are clean, beautiful, well-maintained, and well-appointed. When we realized there was no mini-fridge for our leftovers from dinner, they brought us one within the hour! The linens and towels are amazing and I wanted to take them home with me. Only downside was the mattress was super hard, which made for a slightly uncomfortable sleep. Overall, however, I'd gladly stay hereally again. Also, I'd recommend their restaurant; the food was excellent!
While the rooms were acceptable and the staff was courteous, I would not recommend this hotel. In the year 2016, the hotel charges $9.95 per night for internet usage and does not offer a free continental breakfast. Chains of much lower quality even offer these basic services. Further, I was charged $19 for a single 12 oz. Beer and one glass of wine. No thank you.
During my visit at the raleigh sheraton, I found customer service to be top notch, much better than previous sheraton I've visited in the past. I would recommend this hotel to everyone.
I expected more of a 3-4 star hotel, I have stayed in motel rooms with more amenities. I would have complained if I paid the $289/night this place wants instead of naming my own price for less than $100. It was barely worth the $100. Got hit for an extra parking fee because we checked out and turned in our room keys first. No breakfast. No water. No mini fridge or microwave. Coffee maker in room leaked everywhere. No safe in the room. What a joke this place is. Even a cheap motel would have made apologies for a bad experience, the people that work here seem to think they are above their guests.
I had never been to the Raleigh Sheraton. It has a very upscale modern feel to it. I arrived early for an evening business event I was attending. I found a very comfortable seating area where I could get some work done while waiting. The organizers of our event had a cash bar set up outside the conference room. The room was large, with a media screen and chairs set up for the 500+ attendees. The staff was very gracious and courteous the entire evening.
We booked this hotel based on location. Appearance upon check in seemed great. Staff was friendly, but rates are misleading. Don't forget to add $14 to park across the street. The room was clean, yet outdated in the bathroom. No water pressure in the shower, air conditioning wouldn't cool our room, no free Wi-Fi, no complimentary breakfast nor a water. Our TV didn't work and the beds were less than plush. Buyer beware… this place is going to charge for everything extra they can. Upon check out, we expressed our concerns with the staff. They were apologetic, but offered no sympathy when it came to the bill. : ( Oh yeah, don't forget to keep a room key after checkout so you can get out of the parking garage… wow… what a cluster ****!
The hotel was amazing and very appealing to the eye. We received great customer service and it was located within walking distance to everything downtown. The room was clean and spacious and the best was extremely comfortable almost better than home.
Pretty nice SPG hotel. Parking is $14 a night, across the street from the hotel. The only downside is the food. The restaurant at the lobby is not good. You have way better options if you walk outside for a few blocks.
Paid for early check in. Room wasn't ready til after 4pm. Tried to downgrade my room to suite the times. Room was dirty. Bed was dirty. Paint is flaking. Headboard flaking. Staff very unprepared. Reserved elevators for Clemson but they didn't arrive til hours later. Will never stay at again. Waste of time and money. Horrible.
This old Sheraton is really worn out. Everywhere you look something is stained or peeling. Mattress should have been replaced years ago. We made two calls to the front desk: 1 for a slow bath drain and the other for a loud neighbor. Neither was addressed. Arrived 10/25/15. Checked out 10/27/15.
Location and service were incredible. Staff checked me in and answered my questions quickly and with a smile. Hotel is literally across the street from the convention center which is where I was attending a conference, so it was really convenient. There were also a lot of good, local dining options within walking distance. The room itself was ok. Everything was clean, but there were visible stains on the carpet, peeling fabric on the headrest of the bed, and a couple other small things that made me feel like it had been a while since the room was updated. Otherwise, still a good experience.
Hotwire convinced me that this was going to be a 4 star hotel experience. Definitely not the case. The size of the rooms are small, so, instead of getting 2 queen beds (necessary when traveling with children who will be sharing a bed with each adult), you have 2 full beds and not much space. I realize the hotel is right near the convention center and the majority of their guests are probably there on business and thus their business accounts will gladly pay money for Wi-Fi — but I don't. When this room is valued at $195 a night, I expect free Wi-Fi. Period. I was hoping when I read other reviews that it was a single case of the rooms being not up to par. But sadly, our room, too, had cracked leather headboards, cracked lampshades, and mildew between the shower tiles. When using the elevators, there is a security feature (which I like) where you have to use your room key in order to make the elevator work above a certain floor. However, my key did not work. Additionally, one of the bed comforters had a stain on them. Finally, they failed to mention you needed to keep your room key in order to make the parking garage gate work at checkout. So, when trying to leave the garage, we had to convince the parking attendant that we were indeed hotel guests who were not informed to keep the hotel key when we checked out by the hotel staff. The location is nice and we enjoyed our walk to a great local Italian restaurant to eat. The staff seemed friendly enough.
The staff is professional and helpful, room is clean and tidy except the shower head isn't working well.
Rooms are old, feel old, look old. Will be trying the Marriott next time I'm in town. Worse every time I come. Slow check in, rooms on the SPG floor are just as crappy as the other floors.
This hotel was dirty! We walked into our room and it smelled like hickory smoke, not cigarette smoke, but a weird smell of smoke. The floors had stains on them, the chair in the room had stains on the arms, the seat part looked like someone had urinated on it and the place where your head would rest looked greasy. The bed skirt was really dirty with what looked like coffee spills and black marks. The shower had mold. We stayed because we were from out of town and were there to see the fireworks for the 4th and we were sure the other hotels close were booked. We will never stay again at the hotel.
Very clean room and nice room, very friendly staff, great service.
If you are used to Starwood hotels this will be one of the worst that you will experience. Constant sirens, parking is inconvenient especially for a downtown location.
A divine experience from the moment we arrived until the time we left! Friendly staff, great bathrobes, city views, and superior room service for an affordable price.
Overall, this was the worst hotel experience I have had in the last decade. Tiny, antiquated rooms, with none of the conveniences I have come to expect from chain hotels. A tiny, cramped bath with poor lighting and insufficient space for one person, much less two. Rust on the sliding glass doors/windows that do not slide and longer. Internet not provided unless you are willing to cough up the $10 per night fee. This is the 21st century, right? The price (over $200 for a king for one night once parking was added) was outrageous given the quality of the product. Shop around.
Spent October 8th 2014 here — — Upon entering room, both beds looked like someone had been laying on them previously; bathroom floor was not clean; carpet dirty; bed was ok; Could hear TV and conversation in room next door; Walls very thin; elevators require you to slip room card in then push button, even if you are going down (so keep key card out at all times).
I arrived at the hotel on Sunday for a 5 night stay for a business conference. The lobby was very inviting and staff was very friendly. However when I got to my room it was in a horrible state. It was clean but it looked like it was not fixed up in 20 years. The leather on the headboard, of the bed, was all cracked up and stained/dirty from the many guests over the years. It was not to the point where I really did not want to put my head on it. The worst was the desk chair which was all cracked up and nasty looking, it looked like the leather in a 30 yr old car seat including stains. That I for sure did not want to sit in. My room was a non smoking room but it smelled like someone had smoked in it. I immediately went back to the front desk and reported my findings. They were polite and switched my room to one on the "Club Level". That room was better except the heating/cooling system. When I got to my new room it was about 66 deg F so as any reasonable person would do I increased the thermostat set point to 72 deg C and left for the day. When I returned it was. Yep 66 deg F! The hotel staff said the heating/cooling system was on "economy" mode. This means that during the summer it does not produce any heat. However it still blows cold air. So here is the way it works as far as I can figure. If the temperature is above the set point (too hot) it turns the air on and blows cold air, as one would expect.
Hotel lobby is very inviting. However, the rooms are not clean, the furniture is damaged, and the breakfast is awful. Jimmy V's located on the first floor of the hotel is excellent.
Had an overall good experience here. Was here for a conference. My room was clean and nice. The Internet was free but just ok in in speed. Barely adequate. I ordered room service one night and it was good.
Worst experienced I've had. Booked a room on October 9, 2013 cancelled on October 15, 2013, they took $201.82 on October 15, 2013 and as today October 28, 2013 I have not received my refund. Today I will file a complaint with the Attorney General's Office. Today is October 29, 2013 no refund, you do the math. I cancelled on October 15, 2013, 14 days ago and if you only want to count the week days 10 days. Filled with Attorney Generals Office on October 28, 2013. Never book a room at the Sheraton using your Debit Card, that's where I went wrong. First and last for me.
