The staff here is incredibly friendly, patient and helpful. The hotel is a great location to walk to all kinds of wonderful entertainment and historic venues. It’s near some great restaurants. And you get a good value for your money here.

Pleasant Staff. They recommended the Greek place next door and the market 2 blocks down for coffee and crepes… Go to the market for a one of a kind experience.

Nice clean room and friendly and helpful staff!

Death trap. Fire alarm at 2am with no in-room warning. If my wife had not gotten up to go to the bathroom we would have slept right through. Go somewhere else and hope they raze the place.

Would not respond to my multiple requests to cancel my booking during COVID-19 pandemic. Rather than practicing empathy and quality customer service, expect price gouging and no communication in challenging times. Don’t book with Holiday Inn; choose Marriott instead.

Awesome experience staying at this hotel. Excellent staffs at the reception and restaurant. Hospitality is commendable!

Stain on towels, someone’s food tray stayed in the hallway the day of our arrival right through the morning, maintenance walked right by twice. Internet is terrible.

First when we got to the hotel, the room we were assigned when we finally got up to the 10th floor, housekeeping was still cleaning our room. Which after traveling hours to get there was no fun to experience. We got a new room everything was good but, when we went for the buffet breakfast the next morning my grapes were all moldy. Our waitress was amazing with accommodating me with me ones but, it was just bad vibe after another. The beds were comfortable and it was very convenient to places downtown.

The location was central, very convenient. The room was well appointed, bed was comfortable, and everything was really clean. Free coffee in the lobby. No continental breakfast, but a restaurant on the top floor of the hotel. Everyone at the front desk was very kind and helpful!

I entered the hotel with the intend of getting a room. The lady told me there were two people waiting to be checked in and to sit down. The other two guests were also sitting down. As I was sitting down the front desk (a lady and gentleman) took the two guests and then proceeded to take people that came in AFTER me. Very unprofessional staff. That is how you lose guests. Would not recommend anyone to stay here.

Had horrible time checking in. Made reservations 10/15 min prior to arrival. Took much longer to find the reservation. Oh my. Bathroom was very tight. Will not stay again. The positive was the building was inviting. The 20th floor dinning gave great view of the city. This was a great experience. Food was good as well as cocktails.

Staff were very flexible and acxomidating when it came to changes in my travel plans. They were kind over the phone and when we arrived. The room was nice and clean… not overly fancy, but well maintained. The only thing that was just a little below my expectations was the size of the bathroom (it was very small). All in all, nice stay with amazing staff. Thanks holiday inn Raleigh Downtown for being the easiest part of an otherwise complicated vacation.

Typical hotel in downtown. Architecture was interesting as a cylinder. Top floor restaurant has a nice view of city. Only issue was ice machine was not working on my floor, so I just used next floor. Room was pretty clean. Would stay here again.

Too short to appreciate anything. I found the corridors very noisy at 03 o'clock in the morning…

Great view of downtown. The hotel, however, did not have a "clean" feel. Also, there were several times we parked our car and had to walk past a group of people smoking/drinking right outside of the elevators. Although I wouldn't come right out and say I felt "unsafe", I was definitely on high alert for any funny business.

Clean hotel with attached parking. Decent location; it's a bit of a walk to the convention center, but not too bad, and there are lots of restaurants and bars nearby. The hotel shows its age a bit, but it seems to be well maintained.

The room was fine. A typical hotel room, nothing special. It was a little dated but had all the essentials. It was in great walking distance to everything downtown and the fruut/lemon water was nice.

Clean updated hotel in an excellent neighborhood just off downtown. The doors and windows don't allow for quiet though. Doors closing, people talking in hallway, trains, sirens. Not terrible but, if you're a light sleeper or if they're busy… look out.

Very nice staff. Their professional spaces are well set for meetings and seminars of smaller groups while the food served is fantastic and the staff is incredibly supportive.

Super noisy at night. Some guy with a walkie talkie was walking around and woke me up between 5am and 6am in the morning. The next night, there was an alarm ringing next door. Luckily, staff was quick to fix it. And the last night, the wind was howling and when it stopped, people were loud outside on the balcony below. Maybe I was just unlucky but it was super noisy. Otherwise a nice place to stay. Conveniently located with direct bus connection (Bus 100) from the airport. Although, when calling them they didn't know about it.

Good quality hotel, located close to the prime spots in Raleigh, a very easy walk in the downtown area near the Capital building. The rooms are nice, nothing too fancy but quite acceptable. It's a good holiday Inn and I would stay there again!

Not Holiday Inn standards. The bathroom was so small inside the room. The bathtub had chips in the tub. Paint overspray on the floor. The bathroom door needed to be repainted. Being platinum elite was disappointed that she only acknowledged it at the end when asking which I preferred. Every other IHG has recognized right from the beginning of the transaction. Would not stay at this Holiday Inn again.

Loved the 20th floor restaurant and bar and the fact they offered a limited menu as room service. The room was not what I was hoping for, it was clean. However, I had to ask twice to get more pillows. Worst yet, both me and the person I stayed with slipped. Me in the tub (I banged my knee pretty good… maybe an employee saw me limping) and the other guest slipped on the floor just outside the toilet in front of the mirror. And on Saturday, there were several guests, but the two elevators were inefficient. It felt like I coulda walked up or down faster. So, we smoke, we went outside to smoke. Just as we exit the elevator, a female is walking through the front door. She is clearly looking rough. To put it bluntly, she looked like a crackhead. We get outside some fancy car all tinted out trying to park in the check in parking area. We kept staring at him… minutes later he slowly leaves and parks to the left of the hotel. Perhaps I witnessed prostitution? Yeah, that sums up my BDay weekend.

Ok location for downtown but hotel in need of updates. In our top floor room with nice views, the bathroom light over the sink was broken and the toilet-shower room is the size of a small closet, literally. The elevators are fast but two is just not enough for this size building and results in long waits. Parking area just feels sketchy for some reason, like you need to be looking over your shoulder. Summary: I travel a lot and I would not stay here again.

Nice room, small bathroom, very pleasant. Clean and comfortable room, but very small bathtub/bathroom, with vanity sink outside. Breakfast on the 20th floor was excellent and reasonable with wonderful, top notch service.

This is a nice clean hotel and it's very close to the convention center. What I like the most about it is the dining room view, it over looks the city and its so beautiful watching the sunny view during breakfast.

Stayed here a few times. It's cozy, quiet, and the price is good. The location is great as everything is within walking distance. There's a great bar on the top floor with an awesome view of the city. Breakfast is good, too.

Generally quite nice. My only complaint is that the room heating tends to be variable; set it to one level, it's a bit too cool, then in the middle of the night it comes on and stays on and eventually I'm too hot. I would probably dial down the heat if there was an extra blanket or comforter available.

Interesting building and room. Building is round, room are shaped somewhat like a slice of pie. Spacious, clean, quiet comfortable for the night we stayed. Friendly and considerate staff. Would definitely stay there again.

The architect who came up with "Round Hotel" should have stopped right there and been sent home drunk, much like the party of 21 year old douches who were blitzed out of their minds, screaming and puking in the hallway at 3:30 AM during out stay. It took more than an hour to resolve that incident and the vacuum cleaner running at 4:30 AM was quite the touch. The round hotel makes the rooms pie shaped. The bathroom is in the smallest part of the pie and is smaller than most co…at closets, barely enough room for the tub/shower, but they had to cram a toilet in there as well. After arriving out smoke detector started chirping and they had to replace the battery. We could hear other smoke detectors chirping from time to time in other rooms. Maybe they could do something crazy and replace all the batteries on a regular schedule? We stopped by the restaurant for breakfast and, despite our attempts at pleasantries, the "Hostess" made us feel unwelcome… she reminded me of Frau Farbissina from Austin Powers. Frau Farbissina was much nicer. Probably won't be staying there again, unless I want to party all night long.

In need of some renovations, it's an older structure and starting to show it's age. 1 of the two elevators was not working until the day we checked out, made it slow getting up and down. There is no complementary breakfast or even snack type food, with the exception of infused water everything is extra $$$.

I attended a wedding reception here. The food and presentation was great. They set everything up wonderfully. The only con was that the workers ir the event didn't seem too happy and didn't respond or talk much.

The location of the hotel is great. Walking distance of some good bars and restaurants and seemingly most of the good parts of downtown. Parking is a little extra but nothing bad compared to the rest of the hotels in the area. The room was quite large and a nice enough view. The staff is friendly and I think the price was fair considering my experience.

Expect to pay an additional $7 if you are parking there. The hotel is overall very clean. Ask for a room on a higher floor. The view of downtown Raleigh is very nice. Restaurant and bar on the top floor has a decent menu and the food is pretty good.

The hotel room itself was fine, but everything else was a disaster. My wife and I were hoping for a nice weekend getaway to Raleigh, but ended up being constantly let down by the hotel. First off, there were very few working outlets in the room including walls and lamps. Next was a 3:30 AM fire alarm on Saturday night and on the same night one of the elevators stopped working resulting in a nice walk up to the 17th floor. The following day the elevator still wasn't fixed and housekeeping pretty much kept the one working elevator jammed up leading to a 30 minute process of an elevator making it to our floor and making it back down while stopping at every floor on the way. Many had to continuously wait because the elevator was full. We were lucky to even make our flight after the final elevator trip, but we did with minutes to spare.

Horrible experience at this hotel. TV in the room didn't work, 1 of 2 guest elevators didn't work, service elevator didn't work so hotel staff used the one functioning guest elevator for hotel services (room service, housekeeping, etc). Fire alarm went off at 3 am (by no fault of the hotel), but it went off 2 additional times throughout the night with no cause. Paid $115 to be woken up multiple times and walk down 18 flights of stairs each time we needed to leave. The one positive is that the night shift front desk employee was calm and helpful and made every attempt to improve the situation. But this in no way made up for the money wasted to stay here. Very disappointed in this experience from Holday Inn.

I went to a job fair. The living room was very small.

It was great! We requested a room high up in the building and they put us at the highest level with rooms! It was clean, well put together, and all the staff were super helpful (even when we locked our keys in the room! ). If you're looking for an awesome view of Raleigh, a top level restaurant and bar, and amenities within walking distance, I highly suggest the Holiday Inn Raleigh Downtown.

The hotel is in a good location in downtown Raleigh. The rooms we're fine but somewhat shabby considering I was told that this hotel was renovated only a year ago but that information may not have been correct. The staff was very service conscious but unfortunately they seem to be understaffed which created a great burden on those employees trying to deliver good service. So a plus for the people working there but an F for management for understaffing.

The hotel is in a convenient location to downtown. The rooms are pleasant and appear recently renovated. The main issue I had is that the rooms are without microwaves and refrigerators. Due to a medical issue, I needed both of those items. I was able to rent a mini fridge for an additional $10/night.

It was comfortable, clean, and convenient. Great that parking and Wi-Fi were free. Made for a nice place to stay for a night while my husband was in town for a workshop. Would stay there again. The science museum was just a few blocks away, and there were plenty of restaurants and a brewery within walking distance. Didn't try the hotel restaurant, but it did look nice.

This hotel is a good value for anyone visiting Raleigh. I did run into some convenience issues (spotty Wi-Fi, no fridge/microwave, not free breakfast), but the service is great. Room was also clean and comfortable. Their restaurant is on the top floor and has a great view of downtown Raleigh.

It is very much a holiday inn. Room was clean, check-in was fine, & the view was nice. Only complaint is the parking in the garage being tight & on angles that were steeper than I would like to have my car at. The elevator at one point was out but they had it fixed by the next morning. Overall would stay here again.

Overnight guest. Clean rooms. Nice staff. Was able to walk all around downtown so great location. Had breakfast — beautiful view on the top floor where the food is at. Breakfast was reasonable for the buffet. No complaints.

Had an impromptu stay one night after a long night downtown. The rooms we're well taken care of and the staff were more than friendly. Ha da great night here!

Our stay was brief thankfully. There seems to be no sound insulation in this place. Even though we were on a high floor sirens from the outside were quite loud, not to mention loud people coming out of the elevator in the middle of the night made for a rather restless night of sleep. The bathroom was also incredibly small, barely able to get the door closed without some shuffling of position while inside. This was made even more frustrating when you realize there is no door by the sink and the full length mirror is placed in such a position as to give anyone on the far bed (aka, my kids) a full view of me changing into my pajamas. Thankfully this was realized before fully undressing.

Our first night was at the Sheraton, and our 2nd here at Holiday Inn. We stayed for a weekend convention. We can say, the Holiday Inn is the WAY better option for the money. The room was bigger, had more beds, and better options for WAY less money. PROS: Parking on site with hotel Better price for convention events/Better bed options Clean, updated rooms Nice views of the city from higher level rooms CONS: Charge for parking ($7. Cheaper than other hotels but. ) No Refrigerator ELEVATORS are HORRIBLE (waited 15 min. To get on, full/hot) Besides the elevators, the hotel is one of the best options for staying at downtown Raleigh.

This Holiday Inn has an uncanny resemblance to the Holiday Inn in Gretna, Louisiana. Our one night stay yesterday at the Holiday Inn Raleigh Downtown was a great one. The restaurant on the twentieth floor had great food and offered a spectacular view of Downtown Raleigh. The only thing missing at this hotel was a pool and spa tub. Otherwise, everything was very good. It was exactly what we've expected from the fine Holiday Inn hotel chain from IHG. Thanks!

The hotel provides large rooms with comfy beds. Located in the heart of Raleigh. Nice experience.

Interesting building very close to some nice restaurants and bars, and only a few minutes walk from the heart of the city. The staff is pretty helpful and friendly, and they have a cool "guest of the day" gimmick where they pick a random guest to spin a wheel for something free. The rooms themselves are fairly spacious and nice. My only gripe is that they don't provide shampoo, only soap and conditioner. It's not horrible, per se, but it is kind of weird.

Nice hotel and in a nice location in Raleigh. The rooms are maybe smaller than usual, but not so small it's inconvenient. The rooms are nicely updated, nice decor. Comfortable bed. Not anything negative to say really.

Not terrible but I wish I had paid $30 more and got a nicer place. It was very clean in my room but the place it's getting close to needing a total overhaul. This is the only reason it gets a 3 since its always my top concern witb a hotel. 2 out of 4 ice machines were out of service when I was there. Person in the lobby when I got there had been given someone else's room key and walked in on another guest. That is very scarey!

The stay was great, there were issues with the accommodations however. There was no fridge for storage, the parking was subpar, and the elevator queue was less than satisfactory. I would stay there again if I have to, but it would not be my first choice.

Although the inside of the hotel looks very nice and modern the lobby smelled like sewage our entire stay. Also the place didn't seem very well kept as we saw beer bottles and trash that didn't get cleaned up for days. The staff was pretty friendly but not very helpful with any questions we had about the area and one of the janitors tried stealing our bags as we waited in the lobby for checkout.

Friendly staff and the rooms appear to be newly renovated and well kept. The water closet is a pretty tight squeeze but otherwise the rooms are great. Awesome views of the city. Parking is $7 a day which isn't bad but something to keep in mind.

The room was nice enough, plenty of TV, pretty decent Wi-Fi (ask for the passcode) and comfy beds. The bathtub was definitely weathered, but aside from that everything seems to be in great shape. Great location if you need to be downtown, I parked my car in the garage and walked everywhere after that. There are plenty of food choices within a block as well. The fitness center is on the small side but it had plenty of space for business meetings and whatnot. Definitely would stay again when visiting downtown Raleigh.

Rooms were nice. Bathrooms a little cramped. Bed and pillows very comfortable. Noise level was much too high. You can hear cars driving in the garage and the elevator even being on the 16th floor. Not to mention all the noise from the city, traffic and trains.

The hotel is extremely nice and clean my only downside to it is the complintery breakfast isnt free it cost $10, but according to my peers it is worth the $10 for it is all you can eat. They also do not have people come and clean the rooms while you are gone.

Check in and the room were fine. Great location, close to good eating. Parking is a little different because the hotel is a circular tower. They could use some better sinage to clear people out if the driveway. Other than that decent hotel.

The receptionist Ms. Contreras took really good care of finding me an early checked. Rooms were clean. Although it's a little tight to get into the bathroom. I would stay there again.

Nice room but with parking and neither breakfast nor lobby coffee included, I didn't think it was the best bang for the buck in the area. Counter staff perfunctory. Probably good for meetings but not my first choice for business stay.

Beautiful room, great bed and when we had a group of guys screaming down the hall repeatedly, it was handled by security eventually. But the walls are so thin I was still up at 2:30am because I could hear every conversation in the hallway, coming off the elevators and outside until I finally drifted off. Also, the hallways were freezing cold and quite dim with crazy carpet and harsh lighting. Pretty creepy so the whole thing was overshadowed by all the craziness happening outside our room.

Overall good experience. The room was clean and included all the necessary amenities. Located in a convenient spot downtown, I was able to get everywhere I needed easily. All the staff were excellent from check-in to checkout. My only complaint would be that the walls were so thin that I could hear every conversation in the hallway as I was trying to go to sleep. At one point I called the front desk because some people were yelling down the hall at about midnight. They came up to the 9th floor and addressed it immediately, so again, the staff were absolutely top notch.

This was one small surprise during my stay in Raleigh (NC). The hotel has an amazing view. The restaurant is located in the 20th floor and has a 360º view from the entire Raleigh Downtown. I had a "bad experience" with the restaurant because it closes 10pm everyday. The food is really good, you should try the steak and the fries with cheese and bacon. Hotel doesn't have pool but have a gym in the lobby. The rooms are really comfortable and nice place to stay and sleep. This is only two blocks from the Museums (North Carolina History Museum and Museum of Natural Sciences). Has some restaurants and pubs around. This is a nice stay and you will find food, drinks and also night life close ths hotel.

Room was very clean and well appointed. Staff was very friendly. I didn't venture up the the bar, but it's adjacent to a lively Greek bar and restaurant. Short Uber ride (or walking distance, but not stumbling distance) to nightlife.

The price they reel you in with on ads and other sites is NOT what your rate will be because it changes to something higher conveniently for the nights you need to stay. The place looks like something out of the 70's poorly updated in certain things to look modern. The worse part was the noise, my young son couldn't sleep since we got a room next to the service elevator and of course workers using it make noise as well as the loud people just randomly yelling in the hallways. I felt like I was in the projects. The room is a regular small hotel size but the bathroom is literally a tub and toilet, no room to move, so one wrong step and you're either falling in the tub or crashing into the toilet. No refrigerator made it even worse since I needed a place to keep meds for my son. Not a family friendly hotel at all. If you don't mind having warm water and loud people in the hallways and sucky Wi-Fi then this is the place for you. Only thing good was that it's close to the train station.

We were just there for a quick visit. We had a late check-in and had trouble finding parking. Also I felt like the bathroom was way too cramped. It was hard to open the door and get out. I would stay there again, but I have had better holiday inn experiences at other locations.

Big comfy beds and the whole darn place was like a circle in the sky. Would sleep here again yes.

I stayed at the Holiday Inn Downtown Raleigh the weekend of my wedding, along with my family and many of our guests. We had a great experience. Everyone was kind and friendly and did their best to put us in rooms near each other when possible. Dana, the special events manager, was extremely helpful both in the weeks before the wedding, answering questions about which guests had reserved rooms in the block, and the weekend itself, including handling many last minute additional requests that made things go much more smoothly than they otherwise might have.

Front desk staff was not as courteous as I would expect from this establishment. Otherwise nice hotel in a good location.

The service was crap. The breakfast was even worse.

All worthy and comfortable, large comfortable bed, good TV, coffee making facilities in the room. Near transportation. Price and quality are optimally combined.

It was a nice room that had been renovated obviously in the past 10 years. However, our sheets were not clean! They hadn't been changed. I called the front desk and they sent us up new sheets, but we had to change them because there was no one else except security. They did give us breakfast vouchers, and that was nice. However, the breakfast staff did not refill our drinks and never brought part of our order.

Had a company Christmas party at the NC Museum of Natural Science and got a room for the night so we could enjoy our beverages without having to worry about getting home. It was a very short walking distance from the hotel to the museum, which was very convenient (about 5-8 minute walk). The room itself was very nice, clean, and modern. We were on the 16th floor so it had a nice view. The beds were CRAZY comfortable, it made for a great night's sleep. Only stayed for a night but I would definitely go back.

People that work there are friendly, but incompetent. Tried to pre-order my breakfast. The book in the room told me to call a number and leave voicemail… Just rang. Called front desk and she had no clue bc she's not here in the AM… Really? Maid never showed up. Called. Finally, someone showed up and they only cleaned half! Left coffee mugs, coffee pot on desk! Who does that? Can't say I'd ever stay there again.

Room was very nice. King Bed Deluxe! Modern contemporary style throughout and very CLEAN. My only complaint is the reservation was mishandled and we received a double bed at first. But, the mistake was corrected immediately and appreciated. Very impressed. I'll be back at this location again when in the area.
