This is the loudest hotel I’ve ever been in. A band plays till 2am across the street. It vibrates through the walls. Even with the ear plugs provided you cannot get any rest. I would never recommend anyone stay here if they want to get rest. The hotel should warn guest before they check in!

Very warm and friendly atmosphere!

I came in from a long day of work and I was greeted by Josh. He made my day 100% better! He has such a bright personality and he took care of everything in a timely manner. It is across the street from a piano bar but I explained to him that I was working an event and he made sure to place me where the noise would be minimal.
Thank you Josh for providing EXCELLENT customer service!

If you want to sleep, don’t come here. Piano bar across the street is open til 2am and extremely loud.

One elevator broke and was not fixed for 4 days. The free breakfast is not good. The front desk staff were great, though. And out ice machine on our floor was not working. The gym was good except for the weight tower which needs maintenance. The hotel was near a lot of restaraunts and clubs that you could walk to.

Great hotel. Clean and modern. Only complaint is the backside faces a bar which can be noisy. Hotel room has ear plugs to combat this.

We enjoyed our stay. The front desk staff was very helpful, breakfast was great, and the room had everything we needed for a weekend trip. Great location for exploring Raleigh!

This hotel is great! We were attending a wedding and stayed for 2 nights. The staff was so helpful (especially the two gentleman in the evening hours)! The room was good as well. The view was less than stellar and the free internet was crazy slow. When you have Google fiber in town how do you not have fast internet for free.

Rooms were well updated, breakfast area large and clean with a great selection. Indoor pool very well kept and warm.

Had a 50th Birthday Celebration which I did not receive full use of the banquet room due the lack of information provided about the hotel sound system being a requirement by the hotel, and paying for full DJ services and not being able to use the DJ’s equipment (i. E. Speaker system) to project the music in the event room. Also, my event coordinator and guests encountered a negative and unpleasant with a service desk representative. The services rendered were dissatisfying due to the lack of communication, contract omission, inability to resolve music set-up prior to the event, and poor customer relations provided by the service desk representative. The only wonderful experience I had were with Josh and Julie, they did their best to make me sure my guest and I were happy.

Close proximity to good food and entertainment, friendly staff, great rooms and amenities!

Great place to stay, right in the middle of everything. 5 minute walk to 42nd street oyster bar, next door to the beer garden, and super clean rooms!

The hotel staff was great, the rooms where clean and well appointed. The hotel is also in a great location within walking distance to many restaurants and bars. The only complaint is that the hotel is directly next to railroad tracks, if you are a light sleeper you will be woken up when a train goes by… otherwise it's great.

Beautiful rooms. Very nice staff… but BE WARNED… rooms that are facing the neighboring bars ate EXTREMELY noisy late into the night.

Great experience with Hampton Inn! We had a wedding with a ton of out of town guests last week & they were able to accommodate us all without any issues. Everyone was so welcoming & helpful. The beds were extremely comfortable and none of us even noticed the noise outside. The location was extremely convienent to any restaurant or bar that we wanted to get to while staying there. Bonus: their breakfast was extremely good for being hotel breakfast. That had omlettes, home fries, bagels, waffles, and much more. Worth the stay if looking in the raleigh area.

Standard hotel rooms but clean and good bed. Located in the Glenwood Ave area so very close to many bars and restaurants — an easy walk. Charged for parking across the street which adds almost $10 to each day. Also if bands are playing outside you can easily hear it from the rooms if sensitive to noise.

Great location in Glenwood near all the restaurants & bars. 15 minute walk to the museums. Stayed once as a couple, once with 2 kids. Hotel is ok, normal rooms are on the small side for this chain, but available upgraded rooms have more space. Indoor pool is tiny and very cold. Workout room is small, but OK. Breakfast is free from 6 to 10am. We found one small bug next to the window the 2nd time we stayed here. Staff is friendly & helpful. Parking is $7, with in/out privileges.

Great hotel. Nice, clean, friendly! Great patio area. Great location. The only issue is the train. We heard them come by twice in the early morning hours. We were on the side of the hotel right next to the tracks. I will ask for the opposite side next time.

As a guest of someone the parking should have been free of charge. However there is a $10 parking fee. Why when downtown Raleigh is crowd anyway and no parking. From what I did see of the suite it was nice. My star is not for the suite itself but the situation of parking.

Great place quite inside even though out side is bumping. Near the downtown life great staff comfortable beds too. I will stay again.

Friendly staff, comfy bed, great breakfast. The only issue was around 2am you could hear all the people leaving the bars. The hotel does provide ear plugs in every room so that’s nice.

Comfortable room for the weekend, it's very clean and very little noise despite being close to two large bars. Staff have been phenomenal in recommending great places to go and making our time well spent!

It could have been better… check-in wasn't as smooth as it could have been. Customer service representative (Josh) was rude. Parking wasn't convenient.

I am not one to complain, but this hotel was absolutely terrible to work with. They charged us twice for one room, and had terrible customer service when trying to deal with the payment situation. We also had to wait an hour past check in time to get into our hotel room. I will never stay with another Hampton inn.

Clean and simple hotel. The staff is very nice. Nothing is elaborate, however it was perfect for what I needed.

Good Location in the heart of downtown. Alot of places to eat just short walking distance from the hotel. Second stay at this hotel. Only negative remark was bar behind was kind of loud needed ear plugs to sleep.

Hampton Inn & Suites Downtown (Raleigh, NC) 4 stars 10/28/17 Tip: Check-in with the Hilton App ahead of time, use Digital Key for the room and parking (if you need to park). It was super-easy. Tip: If you want a quiet hotel on a weekend, this is NOT the place. If you want to be near the action, this is! It wasn't horrible, but there is definitely a lot of street/bar/club noise if you are a light sleeper or have kids. Great location and pretty good hotel! This hotel is definitely located well for a night out in the Glenwood South area of downtown Raleigh. It's right in the middle of the action, with easy access to all the bars and restaurants in the area. It was up to the standards of most Hampton Inns, relatively modern and clean. The room was a bit small, but had modern furnishings, was clean, and the bathroom and shower were large. Our room was pretty much in the middle of the hotel, facing W. Johnson Street. It had a small window in the middle of the room with not much of a view (just the offices across the street). As other reviews have said, the street noise we fairly loud until pretty late (maybe 3am or so), but not horrible. I slept fine with the ear plugs and my wife was fine without them, but if you are a light sleeper, you will definitely have trouble. The lobby is nicely decorated and laid-out, as with most of these breakfast-included hotels, the seating in the breakfast area is inadequate when it's crowded. It was fine for us, though.

Loud! Street noise is excessive. Walls are paper thin, so you can here the guest next to you screaming at their computer during their Skype session. Sink and tub didn't drain. Sink faucet no longer attached to countertop securely. Better values in Raleigh if you don't need to be in that location, which is not "downtown".

If you like the sounds of construction and trains rolling by your window 100ft away, then this is the room for you. Every room comes with complementary ear plugs. Besides the fact my window coverings looked like they were going to fall off the wall, I was really grossed out that the complementary shampoo and lotion containers were used (half empty). I don't plan to rent rooms from this place again.

Nice new hotel. The entrance is round the side and not on Glenwood but you can't miss the hotel. There are train tracks that run very close to the hotel so there is some nose. They do provide earplugs in the room.

Seminar location and facilities were great; would have been nice if they validated for parking fee. Also, parking garage is not connected to hotel and outside of building facade is currently under construction so part of sidewalk closed. Just a word of caution there.

Very nice stay. Comfy large bed with clean sheets and soft pillows. Large bathroom with a huge walk-in shower. Only complaint was the lack of water pressure in the shower.

Excellent hotel right next to all the bars and restaurants in the area. The room was large and comfortable with a decent view. If you want to check out the downtown Raleigh nightlife this is the place to stay.

Stayed in room 305. Absolutely the most infuriating location. 10 feet from the back entrance to a club. The noise is RIDICULOUS at 1 in the morning. Why were we not warned when we checked in that WE WOULD NOT GET ANY SLEEP? I cannot believe they put Gold member guests in this room. Or any guest for that matter. Follow up: the management was VERY gracious and apologetic. Compensated us nicely. Moral: If you are staying here on a weekend, ask for a quiet room.

My stay has been absolutely wonderful. I was greeted with warmth & enthusiasm. The decorum of the lobby is inviting, very modern. Overall it blends well with the neighborhood. Beds are super comfortable (as usual with Hampton) and breakfast was great. Will definitely be back again when I come back to Raleigh.

This Hampton Inn is consistent with the brand in offering a comfortable stay in a convenient location. For those who are light sleepers, keep in mind that this hotel is located in an area that offers a vibrant night life.

Great location, clean and very nice hotel. Just don't get a room near the night club that is located next door. You will be awake until they finish closing at 2 AM. Otherwise, it's a great place!

Front desk guys are always cool, always pushing free waters on you. Free hot breakfast was nice. Besides that it's a pretty average hotel.

Very clean and the staff are courteous. Couldn't connect to Wi-Fi, desk offered to send someone to my room but it wasn't worth the hassle. Otherwise a great stay.

Decent rooms, excellent service, and a nice pool/gym area. One thing to note, if staying on the weekend one side of the hotel overlooks Glenwood Avenue. This road is very busy and loud with nightlife activities during warmer weather, try and request a room on the opposite side of hotel if you can.

Location of the hotel is great, just a few minutes from downtown and plenty of food options all around. The room was really nice and so was the front desk guy. The only thing I have to complain about is the parking, they provide a parking garage on the next block, just a little inconvenience when it's raining.

Friendly and courteous staff, free Wi-Fi, free breakfast, even a free happy hour on Thursday night! Very nice rooms. Wish there was a covered walkway all the way to the hotel from the parking garage. There's a daily $6 parking fee… ***I will add that I didn't sleep well Thursday night nor Friday night because of a consistent bass beat coming from outside my window. I would assume it's from one of the nearby restaurant/bar/clubs. My suggestion would be to bring earplugs. Besides that problem, this hotel is great.

Wonderful weekend in Raleigh and all because of the staff at the Hampton. Trey, Walt and Josh made my family feel so welcome. Comfortable beds, great breakfast and perfect location made for a fun weekend. Will stay here again soon!

Room was very clean. Hotel was helpful in giving suggestions on where to go/eat etc. My room was across from a bar so it got a little rowdy but all together not too bad! Would definitely go back to this hotel again.

It is a very convenient place to stay especially if you go dancing downtown. The rooms are very clean and the decor is modern and the beds are very comfortable.

Although the hotel itself was nice, I got no sleep at all. There are two bars right outside the hotel that stay bumping until 2am every night. Had to deal with loud DJ music and drunk people screaming half the night. This happened during the middle of the week, hate to see what it's like on a weekend!

The hotel staff and management have been AMAZING as this hotel was one of the hotels we used for our out of guests… The decor and atmosphere is very updated and blends in well with the downtown environment around it. Staff has been so accommodating to me, my fiance and our guests… With so many great dining/entertainment options around it, it's a phenomenal spot to stay at whether you live here locally or are from out of town. I give the highest of recommendations to them and will continue to refer friends, family and out of town clients who come to the Raleigh area. Keep up the great work!

Sales department is absolutely the worst I've ever attempted to work with — — every time I call they are in a meeting or out of the office so I leave messages that are never returned. Corporate says they have no control — — carrot or sticks they say — — that they can use to get them to return calls. Very disappointed with the hotel's lack of professionalism and surprised that Hilton wants their name associated with such attitudes. Taking my 12 rooms times 5 nights each elsewhere and will never recommend this hotel in the future.

Great place, nice staff very friendly. Had to stay for work this place made that experience a great one. Would be back there in a second.

The hotel staff is awesome but the train next door sucks! The train runs every couple of hours and is annoying when u sleep.

We just left today. Our stay in raleigh was AMAZING thanks to all of the staff at this HI. Every staff member we came across was wonderful it was hot out and they made sure we stayed hydrated all 3 nights! Helped with every request and greeted us with smiles and friendly conversation at every turn. Most of them even remembered our names and our floor! Even after checkout they were fantastic. My husband called to tell our jeeps battery had died on the top floor of the parking garage when he went to go get it so we could load up our stuff. I informed the front desk we were having car issues and the guy there instantly offered help and went to go give my husband a jump in his personal vehicle (also a jeep! ). We had all all around great stay for our honeymoon and will definitely visit again.

My 3 Day stay for the PhDJ Workshop was amazing! Check-In went so smooth and the staff was so kind and welcoming. I really enjoyed the breakfast in the morning and the snacks in the afternoon. Our room's were very Clean and organized. I loved how close this hotel was to the many restaurants in walking distance. I Highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking to stay in Raleigh! It was ok the view was horrible and I had to ask for room service 3 times and make my own bed up.

I stayed at this Hotel from Friday til Monday (Labor Day weekend) Best location … friendly staff … clean room … free breakfast … parking only $6 / day …. You can go in and out anytime. Night life was great cause you don't need a cab … just walking distance to other Irish Bars close by. I highly recommend this to anyone visiting Raleigh and wanna check the night life. I will stay again at this Hotel anytime.

The hotel was beautiful and the staff was pleasant. They even had someone walking around spraying air freshner all day. However, I will not stay at that Hampton Inn again. There was vomit stains on the wall in my bathroom, drug paraphenlia under my sink, and it was so loud! The music outside was loud, my neighbors were loud, car alarms were going off, the garbage truck coming through at 4 in the morning multiple times a week was loud. I got no rest, and then to top it off, one of the ladies attending the workshop with me had her prescription drugs stolen out of her room and the hotel took no responsibility and offered very little assistance. We were here for 4 nights during the week and I got absolutely no rest. I usually love staying at the Hampton — but I will not be staying at this one again.

1st time staying downtown at Hampton Inn and it was awesome if u enjoy the nightlife. U do have to deal with the street noise from the late night bar hopping.
