The management was very prejudice. If your of any complexion please don't go here. You will not be welcome.

The manager here is very racist. It is very unfortunate to have lost out on customers that would have stayed for a while. This was just so sad and disgusting. It was a seriously disgusting experience.

Lovely rooms, good amenities, great location.

Very clean. Everything in walking distance.

The owner Steve is a pig & has no respect for his guests. He charges abnormally high.

We recently stayed for three nights for a special events, Jazz Fest, weekend at the Stay Saratoga, recently rebranded from the Carriage House Inn. Along with a group of other friends, as many as six couples, we have been staying at the Carriage House Inn for over 30 years. The rooms in the main Carriage House were never elegant. They were modestly appointed rooms and always spotless. The ability for our group to be in adjoining rooms and get together on the porches gave it a homey feel. The owners and staff were always very accommodating and showed a true appreciation for our consistent patronage. With the past two owners, after our stay, we would book for the next year’s Jazz Fest weekend and would be penciled in for the same rooms. We would reconfirm early the next year and just giving our credit card info was enough to secure our rooms. A few years ago, ownership changed and the new owner was uninterested in accepting our advanced bookings (most times guaranteeing up to 5 room reservations a year in advance). We were told that we would need to contact him over the winter for each reservation, never sure if we would get the same rooms. For this past reservation, we were told that we have to book the rooms online. We did so in December of last year and rather than holding a room with our credit card info or a one night deposit, our credit cards were immediately charged the full amount, over $600.00 for all 3 nights!

I made a reservation at this Inn. THEY cancelled my reservation the next day saying they had "double booked". They charged me anyway and are refusing to refund my money!

I made this reservation months ago. Steve the owner messaged me through Expedia a few weeks ago to tell me the price of the room was wrong. I thought it was strange, though I accepted the higher rate. I couldn’t believe it when I showed up to find out that he gave my room away. Steve said that he tried to run my credit card the day before arrival and it didn’t go through so he cancelled my reservation. There is never an issue with my American Express card. He totally lied in order to charge someone else more for my room. Can you imagine how disappointed we were? I called Expedia, they confirmed that my reservation still existed. Expedia gave me $100 credit towards another hotel, which was nice of them, but. It doesn’t take away the disgusting behavior of Steve and the Carriage House Inn.

Absolutely had a fantastic stay! The rooms are clean! The bed was so comfy! We sat by the fire pit both nights. So clean and relaxing! Can't wait to come back next year! Thank You Steve!

The room was not in the Inn as advertised. Disappointing.

Through Expedia, I booked two rooms for a weekend in July. I made the reservation in January for $125 / night, well in advance. 1.5 months before the reservation, I received a message saying that the rate of $125 / night was wrong and it was actually $175 / night. At that point of course all the other decent hotels in Saratoga were already booked for the weekend. I accepted the rate increase after Expedia said they couldn't do anything about it, but canceled one of the rooms since the other couple we had planned to go with backed out. Fast forward to the day of the reservation, after driving over 4 hours to Saratoga. I go to check in and the guy says that my reservation was canceled. What? He said the card he used to charge the room was declined and he canceled the reservation for that reason and because he was pissed at us for giving him a hard time about the rate increase and canceling one of the rooms. It's possible the card I used on Expedia was one that was recently stolen (I made the reservation so long ago). He didn't have the courtesy to call me and let me know? Never been to a hotel that would (a) charge your card before you even arrived and (b) not call to TELL YOU the reservation was canceled or give you an opportunity to use another card. He said the only available room left was the suite (the "best in saratoga") and tried charging me $250 a night for it (remember my original rate was $125 a night! ). I refused and got him to go down to $210 a night.

Beautiful, spacouis, charming, Victorian, immaculate rooms. Parking right by our room. Fully stocked kitchen and a fitness center. Great location.

Was never provided a confirmation for our reservation, and finally decided to call and cancel with over two weeks advance notice. The owner Steve, agreed to the cancellation, but then later charged my credit card for the full amount anyway and refuses to refund it. Pretty much Theft anyway you slice it. Apparently the new ownership feels it's OK to steal from people. Have filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau.

My daughter booked a room at the Carriage House, as a Mother's Day gift to her and myself, based on availability and the charming on-line tour. Well, let me warn anyone expecting what is shown on the website, 'it ain't that way anymore'. New owner, if you can find him. Nobody at check-in. There were other guests arriving and we could not find anyone to help us. After searching the grounds, a very nice housekeeper was located and she did a wonderful job of locating the owner and eventually receiving directions on checking us in. The housekeeper was the only saving grace for our week-end. She went above and beyond to accomodate us. The grounds had not been taken care of; no flowers placed about; leaves blown around and collecting at the doorway to our unit. It reminded me of a ghost town. We had a 2 night stay, and I must say, our room was cleaned and restocked to perfection. If you plan on staying there, I would do a walk through, if possible, other than that I can't help you, and good luck!

I stayed there last year. It was very very clean and the owner manager was such a nice person. I would recommend it to anyone myself… It was quiet there and everything worked… I am going to stay there next month again. I do not work there or anything like that so I can write an honest review.
