Great hotel for the money!
Very clean and friendly staff! Small rooms but, clean. We were there to sightsee so it didn’t matter to me.
Very clean bathrooms with a shower but had to share the bathrooms with the entire floor. There was only a few times that I had to go to another floor to the bathroom. If you want something clean, close to Central Park, and an inexpensive this is your hotel.
If you want to stay by the theater district that’s more by 47th St.

Rooms have basic amenities and are quite cozy. An easy walk to the subway station and lots of food places nearby. A very affordable, no-frills experience.

A few blocks from the 96st subway station, fairly easy to find. Not very accessible for disabilities, as there are a few stairs to the front door. Very nice place, but of a "hidden gem". Rooms are lovely & comfy.

This hotel is located in NY within Buses, trains and walking distance of Restaurants. The parking garage is next door in the basement area. The room rates are reasonable and within any Budget. Some customers have a shared bathroom. The room is small but cleaned daily. The housekeepers will bring you what is needed to make your stay enjoyed. The staffing is friendly with all guests.

Very conveniently located on 97th st. Safe neighborhood. 1 block from express train. Great grocery near by. Room is very cramped but clean and kept neat and dry. Sheets and towel were clean. AC loud but good. There is an elevator. Front desk will hold your bags. All hotel crew were friendly and helpful.

Excellent location, 3 minutes walk to the Red Metro (1-2-3) and there are 24/h shops on the way. The rooms on the ground floor, especially if you sleep in the room that from directly on the street, are not very quiet, but still it is acceptable. I stayed in a double with private bathroom. Very good value for money.

We stayed at this property from 16th to 23rd May 2018 and had a great time. Friendly staff, housekeeping and daily towel change, convenient location for travel.

It was my third stay at Royal Park and my first solo trip to NYC. The staff are friendly and helpful, it’s a great location and the best value. I had a quiet and clean single room, with a shared bathroom, which was not a problem as it was always free & clean. I felt safe both in the hotel and the neighbourhood, and as a woman travelling alone or with a friend, I would highly recommend this hotel.

Very good hubicasion is not the big deal but very good, very clean the staff very friendly and the cleanliness is not said for its price this very vien I recommend it.

American style, very good attention, and very well located. Close to everything.

We stayed here as a family for 5 nights. The room with 2 double beds was small, but was all we needed for 3 of us. We had a private bathroom which was ideal, although we did have to ask for towels our first day. The staff there were extremely nice and helpful. For the price and location it's hard to beat if you don't have high expectations for amenities.

It has the feel of a historic building. The size of the room is small but adequate for a quick stay. There was one plug and it was loose, and an additional non-working plug was next to the bed. Carpets were not terribly clean and dazzling apart. It was pest free, has a nice view, and is close to a train. Worth a stay if you'll be out a lot.

The hotel wasn’t the greatest, personally I will not be coming back unless it is my last option. The front desk where very helpful and nice, but the problem was not with the staff members but instead with the hotel. Upon arrival the floor in our room was moist to the point that our socks got damped. The screws for the lock in the room were coming out causing the lock to be very lose. The shower handle would fall off when grabbed incorrectly. Since we had to share a bathroom with other guest from the same hallway, the toilet seat would get pee droplets, particularly in the morning. I didn’t receive soap and the soaps in the shower were used and with hair soooooo I didn’t want to use those (if you go ask for soap and where the shampoo/ conditioner are). We had a very small room with only a small six drawer dresser with no closet to hand our winter coats. The app says they have heater and AC, but we only saw and used a small portable heater to warm the room and dry the carpet.

I love the place, the people are very friendly and warm. The bathrooms and the rooms are very clean.

The staff were very friendly and helpful. The staff are friendly and try to help as far as you can. It's next to Broadway St. Wi-Fi works poorly. Several days he presented problems. There are no radiators in the rooms. Noises were heard at all hours.

Super accommodation for fair price Anyone planning a New York trip knows that you have to reckon with high costs.
This hotel is affordable and reasonable.
We have a shared bathroom which is very clean and acceptable. It is only 15 minutes by Metro to Time Square.
Around the hotel there are plenty of shopping opportunities, from the supermarket to the threatening.

Royal Park was perfect for what we needed. The room and bathroom were clean, and stayed warm once the temp dropped. The front receptionist was a nice guy and answered any questions we had about the place and city. It was very convenient that it was a block away from the subway and they had an attendant present 24 hours. Couldn't have asked for a better experience given the price we paid.

The room is neat, the quality of the rooms is related to the price, the people who attend the place are very friendly, the location is good, close to the metro and 5 minutes walk from Central Park.

This was a nice little hostel. The bed was comfortable and the room was very clean. It was a little tricky to figure out the hot water in the shared bathroom but everything else was great for what I needed. The front desk clerk was very helpful and easy to approach. I'd come here again.

Great place. Great price. Friendly and informative staff (Frank) Booked a room with a private bath… shower stall was huge. Room itself was beautiful. Walking distance from many stores, resturants and the subway. The only issue I had with the room was that the water pressure wasn't all that strong. I was able to shower so that was fine. Oh and an ice machine would be great.

Couldn't beat the location for the price! Such a great deal! However, our bathroom had no hand towel or wash cloths and even after asking three times for wash cloths, we never received them. We also had numerous hairs in our bed sheets, and our room just felt dirty. The bathroom had a moldy shower curtain that should've been replaced awhile ago. One of the shades on the Windows facing the street was broken and could not close all the way, allowing the possibility that someone could see us changing and such. Still, can't beat the price for such a convenient location and would still consider staying there again for the value.

Great location Metro nearby. To recommend.

Rph is a small old hotel. It has a great location, next to the subway but has nothing in a modern hotel. No phone for room service, cable service is bad, no ice machine and old small elevator. It was cheap and served it's purpose of giving is place to stay on Xmas weekend.

Staff were polite, answering all questions, accommodating all needs. We did see a cockroach in our room, so just letting people who are afraid of stuff like that. The location of it was great though, especially for night parking if you travel by car. Probably wouldn't want to come back.

For the price of the hotel (on Groupon) with such short notice it was not terrible. The front desk service was pleasant, and housekeeping was good. We were able to store our backpacks there during the day free of charge while we explored NYC. We only stayed one night. It was a place to sleep. The pillows were actually pretty comfortable, but the bed not so much. We booked a room that had a shared bathroom with strangers, and there were no issues.

Lite slitt soverom med en noe I minste laget seng og aircondition som jobbet for halv maskin. Fungerte fint til vårt behov, å ha et sted å sove, så hvis resten av byen er det som er viktig på turen ligger det fint til rett ved udergrunden med enkel ankomst de fleste steder på Manhattan.

Very friendly staff and really affordable. It's an old building and that is part of its charm.

Who is the old fat naked man that hangs out the window on the top floor? He throws garbage out of the window and on to the street below 10-20 times a day!

Very cool and standard hotel well accommodated in which my ATM credit card can't give up to the amount to balance my bill but with help of manager I got money transfer from Nigeria and it was well handled and I come back alive, in fact I enjoy stay in Royal Park Hotel.

Pretty good hotel for the price. The location isn't bad either as you're only a train ride away from the heart of the city.

Rooms are a little small. But service is amazing. The staff is really helpful. I definitely recommend it!

I stayed here with my family (parents and my godparents). My parents along with my sister and I stayed in one room. My godparents stayed in another room. My room had two beds, a sink, a refrigerator, but no bathroom or shower. The bathroom and shower were just outside in the hallway to be shared by other hotel clients. The overall cleanliness of the hotel was not so great. In the bathroom I saw 3 bugs. The beds were very hard and made lots of noise. As for my godparents room they stayed in a one bed room. The size of the room was too small and only had just enough space for the bed. All the reviews under here seem to be made by hotel staff because everyone I spoke to during my stay disliked the hotel and had a problem. While some did have bathrooms in the room the room prices were the same. Highly recommend paying the extra money for a better hotel!

Had I been able I would not have given any stars to this "hotel", the bathrooms were very dirty, full of hairs, in the whole hotel of bad smells and in the rooms of cockroaches, which seemed quite normal to the staff. During the stay we caught a stomachache to have to go back in the evening! I do not recommend at all this place to avoid at all costs.

We stayed 4 days, the room was clean with bathroom in the room. Nice décor and staff OK.

The WORST hotel I have ever stayed in. First room had a infiltration problem with a leak, everytime our neighboors from the upper floor used the bathroom we would get a yellow water dropping from the door frame. And air conditioning not working. After two days of complaints they moved us to a room, half of the size and half as nice as the first one, claiming that we have gotten a (never mentioned) upgrade in the previous room.
In the following three days of stay we had the company of over 9 COCKROACHES in the room, and when asked the hotel staff didn't seem to care. Besides the air conditioning not working for a period of time. No one is responsible for solving any problems, are disrespectful, unprepared and with no clue about hospitality. Seemed they were doing us a favor the whole time and not that we were paying for what we were not having.

Terrible service terrible room by far the worst I mean the worst hotel experience I have ever experienced like I couldn't even sleep comfortable at all and you have to share a bathroom with the whole floor yes the whole floor like other people who are in hotel as well there is no privacy it's dirty like you don't wanna stay period.

Good cost benefit but rooms are small and corridors a bit dirty. Also shared bathrooms. Had no problem with bugs nor theft like other people reported. If you want a cheap place go for it.

I want to leave 0 stars. 3 o'clock check in time we come at 530. The room is not ready. We ride the elevator up with the maid who was supposed to have everything cleaned in our room. As we all go into the room wait with her as she does her thing. While we are waiting for her to finish a friend notices blood on the floor. We complain to the manager because who wants to walk into a room with blood in it and the room isn't even ready. They tell us due to their cancellation policy they are not able to refund us our money. How are we supposed to know to cancel when we don't know what we are walking into. Worst place I have ever stayed. Oh yea… no alcohol allowed… oh yea shared bathrooms… oh yea people live here regularly. Don't go.

Terrible service, dirty hotel, and not worth a penny. I had to switch rooms 4 times in 2 nights. 1 time was for a urine smell that was in the room. The last time was when I found a giant cockroach on the wall. I tried to leave, but they still will not refund the money despite their inability to provide the service I was paying for. I will never recommend anyone to stay here, no matter how tight your budget is.

Safe choice if location and price are a top priority. This was without a doubt, the most affordable hotel I could find for an emergency stay. The location is convenient and ideal and the rate per night as I've seen is typically less than $75. It must be said though that this hotel typically accepts reservations for out of state and international students only. The rooms are as basic as they can be: small with bunk beds, one closet, a TV, and a small nightstand. Bathrooms seem to be shared among the floors.

This place deserves a much higher rating than it has. If your hotel experience needs to be an integral part of your visit to New York, then you may be disappointed, but if you want a clean, efficient, quiet place to sleep next to convenient transportation options, then this is your place. The linens were clean, appliances were just fine. Also very friendly service.

Decent sized rooms (a little small), clean, comfy beds. Not much to complain about, not much to praise. But if you're looking for a cheap, decent stay I think this place works well! Solid 4/5

Not terrible. But it was far from a nice stay as well. We found hair all over the beds both nights prior to sleeping and the bathroom was pretty nasty. Would not recommend unless price is the absolute most important thing to you.

THE CLEANERS WILL CLEAN YOUR BAG OUT HERE! Beware… Stayed here with friend and brother-in-law. It's what you expect if you have low expectations. Regardless of that, everything would have been adequate enough had my friend not been robbed by the cleaning staff here. One of his more expensive shirts he'd brought was stolen by a Spanish cleaner there. We know this for sure because he randomly spotted one of the cleaners in another room wearing a rare t-shirt he'd received as a gift (that isn't made anymore). We thought it must have been a pure coincidence until we went to doublecheck his luggage and sure enough it was Missing. We demanded to speak to the manager after the front desk clerk denied all allegations and said that we were mistaken — didn't seem to want to listen to us whatsoever, most likely because it's such a common occurrence there and they expect most foreign visitors not to speak up and complain. The manager also did not want to tell us the names of their cleaning staff (most likely illegal immigrants). Told the manager we'll be reporting the issue to the Better Business Bureau for theft of property.

I'm incredibly amazed at people saying that "after reading the reviews, I was apprehensive, but booked anyway. " I don't understand what standards they work with but I can tell you our story and hope you use your better judgement to NOT stay here just to save a buck. As most have stated, the pictures do NOT show the actual disgusting area. It appears decent but upon arriving, the first thing we noticed was a city notice about the place not being inhabitable. This was posted on the glass doors that were wide open so most people missed it. The incredibly rude staff attempted to play it off as if it were a Halloween prank (our trip was Halloween weekend), but their attempts to fool us were not working. There is a distinct odor in this place and it is old, moldy, and in terrible condition. We asked to see the room before determining to stay. The front desk guy immediately changed his attitude and became very short and curt with us switching to one word answers, not making eye contact anymore and typing senselessly into the computer. I guess he realized we were going to be one of the many others I've seen here who were unhappy with the initial perception to reality of what this fleabag place really is. When we were shown the room, we noticed that it did not have a bathroom, windows were dirty with dead bugs littered on the sill, and there were bed bugs.

Very small room. No closet. No A/C. We did not stay in room for more than 10 minutes and they charged us for two nights because we did not cancel within specified time. But we were not planning on canceling until we saw the room and decided that there was no way we were staying. Website and photos do not accurately represent this hotel. Very disappointing experience. I thought hotels like this were all gone.

Well placed near Central Park and on Metro line, but rudimentary comfort and vetustée/more a few cockroaches that stroll in the unique and tiny bathroom on the doorstep.

Reserved a room with a bathroom 3 months before our trip and claim that nothing was available even though we have a confirmation. Wouldn't recommend this place to anyone. Absolutely terrible.

Horribleeeee! Service there are many bugs similar to the cockroach you chop and then leaves you red and swollen skin very ugly first night not able sleep at those animals please don't go is horrible the bathroom too old room very dirty Hall girls instead of Asher the toilet and clean bieen are sitting in the room watching TV.

I was 2 two days without hot water. They have clear… first you placed on the floor 5, 6 or 7 on the right side of the hotel. There do not have hot water. Once you complain are the remolenes which is rare to not work… If you insist you canvian to another site with water hot… without much water pressure.
But good is well located… and if you go to the cheap can endure. And generally clean.

If you just want to sleep, it is your hotel, cheap and without amenities.
