Fabulous hotel in a fabulous location Wonderful views of the city restaurants and bars on your doorstep. Central Park and all it’s glory is so close and if you love art there is so much within walking distance. Staff were friendly and helpful I’ll Be back.

Had to cancel Christmas stay over Christmas due to Covid. They would not make any exception for refund. When I suggested maybe we should come anyway even though positive, they said “that’s your choice”. Ewwwww. We didn’t.

We’ve stayed multiple times but the prices in the past month have increased by a hundred dollars a night beginning in August. We will stay at the Arthouse through the fall for our trips until things go back to normal.

Accommodations were handicap accessible. Wish garage was nearer to hotel.

The Hotel Beacon is a wonderful hotel. I love everything about it: location, transit access, cleanliness, the room. But the thing that stands out most is the staff. The front desk, doorman, and concierge staff are incredibly welcoming and the housekeeping staff have an incredible attention to detail. Thank you for such a wonderful trip. I cannot wait to be back next December.

Lovely staff and very accommodating.

I stayed there again for one week with friends of mine. The Suite were awesome. We loved the huge space. The rooms were so quiet at night. You would not believe your on Broadway. The kitchenite was nice and we used it every morning for an unbelivable breakfast. 72th Metro Station was only two blocks away. Great. My friends loved all in this hotel and were thankful that I took them there. After 2012 and 2013 it was my third time in Beacon and it will not be my last. Love that awesome Beacon.

My first time here. Beautifully accented rooms, spacious-antique and modern decor with a hint of warmth. The staff is courteous and friendly and very helpful. Situated in the upper West side, it is away from the hustle and bustle of Times Square but well within the museums and Central Park area. Highly recommended!

Excellent location if you want to be away from the madness of Times Sq. We stayed in a king suite on the 11th floor and the size of the room is excellent and all the facilities you need to make breakfast or a snack is there the rooms are clean and housekeeping come in daily. 2 mins walk to 72nd St subway and ample trains to get downtown or uptown to the Bronx. Don't think I would want to stay anywhere else.

This is a great base to see NYC from. Really lovely hotel. Stayed for 4 nights recently in king suite in a room with a great view over Broadway. Lovely neighbourhood, great atmosphere and close to subway. … Staff very welcoming and helpful. Good size room, clean and comfortable and the kitchenette was so handy to have. The only slight negative was the lack of USB sockets in the room, the iPad dock was very old so unusable. That is a minor issue though, this is a great hotel and we will be back! Thank you.

One of the best hotels I’ve stayed in. Great location — close to shops, cafes, 1/2 walk to Times Square, 10 minutes to Central Park, subway station 2 minutes away. Huge clean modern rooms with all the amenities you need. Great staff. We visited with our two sons and we all loved it. The Beacon will always be our first choice when we return to NYC.

Fabulous stay at Hotel Beacon.
It was away from time square craziness and felt like our own oasis coming back from long day out. Lots of fabulous restaurants in walking distance. Kitchenette was very handy. Lovely view of
Upper west-east side from our 20th floor. Subway 1 block away and 3 stops and you are at times sqaure. Would stay there again.

The Beacon is a classic venue in the upper west side of Manhattan. The design allows for good viewing and hearing from most seats. Patrons in the know go to the ticket entrance on Amsterdam avenue and avoid the crush on Broadway. I've seen several concerts there and enjoyed them all. The theater allows beverages into the auditorium. The down-side of this is that your row-mates have a tendency to get up and down to go either to the bar or to the restroom throughout the performance's duration.

Beautiful theater, went to a concert here and the audio was good, my seat had a clear view to the stage, everything was clean and the staff very was helpful. It's not so easy to find your seat but they have people designated to help you find your spot.

Always a good and classic venue to see a concert. They could work on sound management a little. But mostly ok.

Had a great time here watching Erasure. The theater is very nice. The seats have plenty of leg room. Best part is being able to take your food and drink to your seats. We sat on the second tier and had a great view of the concert. For this section, I would say the seats were very cheap. I will always love going to this place.

One of my favorite concert halls. The acoustics are great and the seats are wonderful no matter where you sit. I've seen almost a dozen shows here. I highly recommend going here if your favorite band or singer is going to be here.

This is the only place to stay in Manhattan. It’s the perfect location — close to the park and one block from the subway. Right across from the fabulous Fairway supermarket to stockup on supplies to use in your own kitchen if you don’t fancy going out for dinner. And there are plenty of options for that too.

This theatre is beautiful! The venue is perfect for music events. Intimate yet a lot of seating. I don’t think there’s a bad seat in the house. Quick getting in and out. A few parking garages in the blocks around it.

The iconic Beacon theater. What can be said? It features some of the best performances and it's a venue that is easy to get to, less crowded then some other venues around the city. The area has nice restaurants and bars. Access to two different train lines very close by. Parking isn't impossible in the area.

Was here for NYU graduation. A thousand people had to wait outside for more than 30-40 minutes to get in. They've no idea how to let people in fast through security checks. They took forever. I hope it doesn't happen to all the other shows in this theater. It'd suck to wait so long before watching something for fun.

Beautiful place and a great concert experience is just about guaranteed. I've been there numerous times. One of my favorite places to go for concerts. All the employees do a good job. I'm in a wheelchair and they are very courteous and helpful every time.

We really enjoyed our week in NYC. The hotel came recommended from friends who stayed there a couple months ago. We were not disappointed! Our room had a kitchenette which was a nice option to have. There are 2 markets directly across the street. We made breakfast several times! There is a great cafe right next door! We had breakfast and lunch there. We took cabs everywhere. The hotel is about 1 hour from Newark NJ, 20 minutes to Times Square. We walked to central park and American history museum. Our first night we even walked back from times square! Everything was very clean. The staff was amazing and very helpful. Make sure to tip your cleaning lady! Thank you Beaxon for a special HoneyMoon!

The Beacon theatre is a great place to see a show. Almost every seat has a great view of the stage. The loge and balcony seats are close enough to feel a part of the show. Acoustics and lighting in the theatre are excellent. The theatre is a great place to listen to all different styles of music. I've watched everything from Tori Amos to Elvis Costello with the Charles Mingus orchestra to Def Leppard and most recently Jackson Browne at the theatre. The Govt Mule show at New Years is not to be missed. The theatre decor is lovely and a step back in time to the 1930's with a beautiful color scheme, chandeliers and wall decorations. Attending a show at the Beacon theatre is a great experience.

Beacon Theatre is a small but very nice intimate concert venue. My daughter and I went to NYC and saw Niall Horne. I would have given the Beacon 5 stars but there was such a mix up with our tickets. Something was off with the "disabled" seating and we were placed in 3 different seats. Then the manager came back one last time took our tickets and said he'd be back but never returned. After he left an usher told us to move and I explained the manager took our tickets and was supposed to come back. It was extremely frustrating and irritating. They didn't apologize at all and Niall Horan's family were so kind and understanding as it was their seats we were placed in!

An old theater but that's the beauty of it. The sound was amazing, sitting in the balcony you can see the stage quite well. Staff were extremely friendly. Would definitely see a show there again if given the chance.

I treated my nephew to the Bubble Guppies live show. The sound system could have been better in the upper balcony. Also there was no coordination of entering the theater or exiting.

Beautiful historic theater with amazing decor, clear sight lines from all seating levels, and solid sound system and natural acoustics — in recent show, the artist did a song with no mic from front of stage and we could hear clearly from front of loge and seemed people in other sections could also. Easy access from subway at 79th street. Restrooms on main floor and third level — they're a bit cramped, and sorry ladies, usually a line.

First time I went and the pass super Nice.

Took my daughter to see Miranda Sings and we had a great time. Staff was very friendly while we were purchasing merchandise and drinks, even helped us to our seats. Very beautiful inside, too.

Such a wonderful experience from a very old city landmark. Much more elegant look on the inside than it does on the outside. Was my second been there and I still love it.

The Beacon Theater on Broadway in New York New York is a great venue. Very classic and style and very easy to get in and out of it as well. We staff where very nice and very professional. It was a nice clean environment and I really enjoyed my time is there.

I really enjoyed my stay here this past weekend for the NYC Half Marathon! The staff was very friendly and accommodating; my sisters and I were greeted so warmly by everyone we encountered. The suite was beautiful and clean, and our view was absolutely gorgeous. I highly recommend staying here and would definitely love to stay here again myself.

Our seats for Louis C. K. Were great. Good volume. Seating was decently quick for the audience size. Got out quickly too. Decent bathrooms.

This place is stunning, inside and out. The sound was incredible. The theater itself is drop dead gorgeous. The bartender, especially Eduardo, are incredibly friendly. The ushers are beyond accommodating. One usher even gave me a hot hands pouch when she noticed I was a little cold prior to the show. What a saint!

Gorgeous theatre! Drove down from Albany to see a concert there, and parking was super easy being right next door (it was 60 dollars for the shows duration to park, hence the loss of a star) but you are paying for the convenience. Inside the theatre is absolutely beautiful, with carvings and paintings abundant. I had accidentally brought a pocket knife, forgetting I had it on me, and the security made it super easy to take care of, giving it back to me at the end of the show. I had also lost my ticket, so the box office staff was an excellent help.

I saw Tori Amos here, and it was phenomenal. The theatre is absolutely gorgeous, everyone working was very helpful and friendly. I really enjoyed my time! I could also tell that Tori enjoyed playing there. The show was amazing!

Airbnb messed up our appt booking just after Christmas and Tour America put us in touch with Tom Travers in Hotel Beacon recommending them as a great family hotel in New York. They sorted us out with a family room which was perfect for us and our 4 boys. Staff were friendly through out and Tom Travers was exceptional in his care. We really appreciate the efforts made by Tour America and Tom and the team in Hotel Beacon. Thanks and if you are looking for a great family hotel in a super location with access to Central Park and the subway — this is an excellent spot. Thanks.

What can you say about the Beacon? It's an institution for a reason. It's historic but modern, cozy yet expansive, intimate and massive, and intimidating and inviting. The sight lines are great and the acoustics are amazing. And most importantly, I've seen 25 or more shows at this venue and not one wished it was somewhere else. A great place to see shows and I can't be more happy when I get a chance to see a band or performer there. Awesome. BTW we love the fact Gov't Mule is the regular new year's gig at the Beacon. Takes out the guesswork as to what we'll be doing for NYE.

Historic old theatre (so no elevators, you're warned) with great acoustics. Very ornate as a theatre on Broadway should be. Security was efficient and got everyone through fairly quickly despite near airport level standards.

The site is spectacular, the acoustics also brutal, from anywhere looks good, is very close to the stage.

Such a beautiful place! I had amazing experience there! It was the concert of whole my life I've been dreaming about! Architecture inside amazing, like a late Greek arts and monuments. Making amazing atmosphere I'll definitely like this concert theater! Even better that Madison square garden. And doesn't matter it's smaller a little bit! Enjoy this time! ❤️❤️❤️

Very intimate setting to see any show. Always the best ambiance. There really are no bad seats. Worth monitoring the schedule to see who's coming to town and getting tickets early.

I love love this hotel! My 3rd time to New York and the best I've stayed in. A little out of the way, but for me that was fine. The staff are exceptional! They really looked after me and made me feel welcome and as I was travelling on my own it made the whole experience so much better, plus I had THE best room with stunning views of Central Park. Couldn't have wished for better. Will definately be back. And thank you all at the Beacon for a wonderful stay.

The Beacon theatre is beautiful. I have seen many concerts over the years here. This is the first time, however, that I actually missed part of a show due to the arduous and poorly organized security screening process. I arrived more than a half hour early (the recommended amount of time). I wound up missing over 15 minutes of the concert. I was actually much earlier, but had to return to my car because I had a small Swiss army knife that I didn't want to cause any problems. Another concert-goer was sent to a different line because he had a hip replacement. I recognize that security is important, but I haven't seen it handled this poorly before at the Beacon. I hope that it's an anomaly and not the new normal.

Probably the best small venue left on the east coast — maybe fox theater in Atlanta a close second — this place is the best small thing left that bring in huge a-list bands and comedians. It's like seeing them in your living room. No seat is bad but some are the best.

The Beacon Theatre is a time-capsule of the past and currently a vibrant and energetic venue. It should be on your list of "Must See Things in NYC. " As a new usher, I am excited and honored to work at The Beacon Theatre.

Great venue, very intimate. Nearly every seat is a good one. Drinks are a little pricey but it is NY. Can't go wrong seeing a concert here.

Saw Jerry Seinfeld there last night. He was great but the usher stood in our eyeline blocking the performance for most of the show. She could (and should) have stood back underneath the balcony but she was way up front in front of the audience, watching the show and laughing along. Meanwhile, I paid $200 for tickets and couldn't even see the show! Whole event ruined. On my way out, I tried to speak to a member of the staff about the issue but was told to call customer service the following day. Tried calling Ticketmaster and (after 45 minutes on hold) was told to take it up with MSG. Called MSG and was told they couldn't refund the tickets because I "didn't alert a supervisor on the night, " despite the fact that from where I was sitting, alerting anyone would have involved either climbing over the disabled guest at the end of my row or shouting down to the usher herself. I'm sorry but I have no interest in disrupting a show because the usher was blocking the act. How is it the patron's responsibility to keep the venue staff in check?! Wilson at MSG was incredibly short and rude to me on the phone. I'm awaiting a call back from his supervisor in an attempt to escalate the issue. Here's hoping I actually get a call back, but considering the experience thus far, I'm not encouraged. I'm really appalled by the lack customer care. They have my money and that's all they seem to care about.

This is a super cool theatre, not a bad seat in the place. Sound is great and it's easy to get in and out. Love it!

Unbelievably ornate and historic place for venues. Acoustics may not be tuned like Carnegie Hall, but makes up for it with character and museum qualities.

Best mid-size music venue in NYC. Big enough to draw big names. Not so bag you feel you're watching from a block or 2 away. Hardly a bad seat in the house. ONE TICKET TIP — first three rows are aa, bb, cc. So row a is actually the 4 row. The rise from aa to f is very slight, so shorter people will have line of sight issues. Theater was got a long overdue refurbishing 3-4 years ago and is in great shape. Small interior corridors get a little jammed, but that's typical for theaters of the era. Otherwise. Great acoustics, great period decor, and a staff that runs a tight and friendly ship.

Good location and easy to get to. Close to the subway. The venue is nice and been well maintained. It's small enough that you can see and hear the show well from any seat. They sell snacks and beverages.

Beautiful theater. Great acoustics. Lame security policies. You can buy a bottle of water ($4.50), but they keep the cap? To prevent you from throwing the bottle at the stage, of course…

Awesome venue! Saw the Punch Brothers here and there was a ton of excitement. The theater huge of course but definitely feels like an intimate performance hall.

Seinfeld was awesome. Definitely still's got it. Theater is so beautiful. But the sound system sucked! Unbelievable at a concert venue, you couldn't catch a quarter of the jokes.

Awesome place for a concert. Saw Chris Cornell here on his Higher Truth Tour and was in the back but still saw and heard the show fine. Then saw Government Mule last New Year's Eve and was in the third row. Definitely great to be near the stage. The acoustics are great from anywhere and like most people are saying, there really isn't a bad seat in the house.

If you're trying to find a really great deal on this amazing hotel I'd highly suggest booking it through HotelRaven. Com They have great deals for it on there! Such a perfect place don't have enough great things to say! So lovely, so nice with a staff and setup that makes one not want to leave. Cozy and comfy with a great continental breakfast spread. Located next to great restaurants and the Opera. Hayes Valley Inn is a gem if you are fine with sharing a bathroom.

Best place for a NY holiday. Great neighbourhood. A stroll to the subway, and a bit further to Central Park. Bar next door is mellow, great supermarket across the road. Just go to Starbucks (God forbid) rather than the cafe next door. Wifi, gas stove, spacious — love it.

I had a fabulous stay at Hotel Beacon over the 2015 Labor Day weekend. The pristine room with excellent amenities (a convenient kitchenette and Keurig machine) helped to make my stay exceedingly comfortable. Although I arrived late due to a delayed flight, hotel staff reserved an upper floor room with a beautiful view for me at short notice. Such top-notch client service — thank you front desk manager Dave! — coupled with the hotel's cleanliness and convenient location make Hotel Beacon my choice hotel when staying in NYC.

Having spent two months in Netherlands and UK at a number of Hotels (25) arriving in New York at the Hotel Beacon was a pleasure, genuine people wanting to make your stay as pleasant as possible. Top sheets, face cloths, kitchenette and the best Wifi. Not important yes they are when you haven't had them. Easy location to move around and after three days our number one hotel.

Wonderful hotel in the Upper West Side in an ideal ratio "price-quality". Good location on Broadway in a fairly quiet area (after an eventful day you can relax). Very near the metro station "72 st" (lines 1, 2, 3). In the hotel building (in addition to the namesake of the theatre and restaurant) cafe Viand in a purely American style and appropriate kitchen. This can be expensive for Breakfast (omelets, pancakes with syrup, bagels, coffee, etc. ), starts from 06.30. In an adjacent building across the street (75 st) famous "coffee shop" Starbucks. A three minute walk at the intersection of Amsterdam av and 74 st popular bakery Levain c wonderful pastries and delicious coffee. Within walking distance to Central Park, Museum of natural history and Planetarium, Lincolnesque center. Relatively close Times Squer. I got a room on the 8th floor with views 74 st and part of Broadway. The rooms are quite spacious, with private bathroom (towels, toiletries, Hairdryer), mini-kitchen in the room (small fridge, stove, coffee maker, toaster, microwave oven). Large comfortable bed, armchair, flat screen TV, floor stand him for things, minilateral (hangers, safe, iron and Ironing Board, umbrella). Daily maid service, post newspaper US Today. Unobtrusive staff.

We were very satisfied with the Hotel. The staff was nice and friendly and the Hotel clean and well maintained. We would again at any time there book. The price — performance ratio was absolutely in order.

Is a good location, but do not use their phone. We were ripped off big time with one telephone call. On checking out they advised there were no charges, even though I advised I had made one telephone call. On arriving home they had charged hundreds of dollars on my card for one 15 minutes telephone call back to Sydney.

Great location, hotel, and staff! Loved the breakfast every morning and that we had fresh towels (for the beach and shower) in our room every day. I can't wait to come back.

Very nice! Close to the subway, grocery across the street with Zabar's close by! I love the kitchenettes in the rooms, great for families or couples.

Met all expectations, all information is 100% accurate, U-Bahn and supermarket are perfect, price/performance ratio is second to none — we were very satisfied.

Have stayed here 3 times and each time they provide the same great service. The rooms are fairly large as far as NYC hotel rooms go and the water pressure in the shower is strong (something you can appreciate if you have stayed at various places in NYC! ).

Lovely hotel in a great location.

My husband, son, and I stayed there last weekend for the first time. My husband doesn't always love hotels and often complains of uncomfortable beds and noise, even in 5 star hotels. At Beacon, we were all very satisfied, especially with the room and friendly staff. We couldn't have been made to feel more at home, and everyone was so helpful — from the front desk, to the maid service, to the bellhops in the lobby. While no hotel is perfect, and this one is a bit pricey, it is a real gem in an awesome neighborhood surrounded by everything you could need — only a few blocks from Central Park and Natural History, and across the street from a wonderful upscale grocery story and a nice wine shop 2 doors down. For the money, I found it to be a great value because you receive a lovely suite (so parents have privacy) and a full kitchen, with utensils, plates, cups, ice, dishwashing detergent, and a Keurig coffee maker/coffee/creamer. We thought our room was elegant and extremely clean. We are light sleepers so we could hear the elevator from our room at times. Earlier in the evening we heard what sounded like a small dog barking from across the hall, and some people in the hallway, but not enough of an issue to warrant a call to the front desk (which I wouldn't have hesitated to do if this persisted). Overall we were pleasantly surprised how quiet everything was, even in NYC! We woke up rested which isn't always the case for us when staying in a hotel.

I stayed there just days ago for the second time after 2012. All was as awesome as last year. Clean rooms. Large beds. Nice staff. Upper West Side's a great place to stay. Express Train to Times Square 5 minutes. I will come again.

Metro station 200 m. Central Park a few minutes away on foot. Equal opposite supermarket with fresh local produce. Would stay here again.

Great place, price is about par with other hotels in the area but still high for this frugal traveler. Accommodations are nice — mini kitchen, fridge, bathroom is nice too, beds are very comfortable. Mobile coverage is iffy but that's more of a problem with the mobile carriers than the hotel/building. HDTV is a nice touch too with very decent programming. I would of downgraded the service to VG but one time I had a hypoglycemic reaction, asked the hotel staff for a chemist, and they promptly told me its a half block away. Staff was also available and helpful even during the Christmas holiday. So excellent marks for the service rating; saved my life and comforts too. Door staff were also friendly and cheerful, despite the rainy and windy 2012 Holidays. Only bad thing was that the hotel did not have room service, but that's okay — there's plenty of bars and restaurants outside. Oh yes, after getting some food in the nearby Duane Reade chemist, used the microwave oven in the hotel room — bonus points from me! Recommended, and you may or may not like it, but I do! :-D.

Very friendly, excellent value for money, spacious rooms, excellent location, good transportation access.

Good location, approx. 4 min. To the metro stop 72e. Very clean room, good facilities, good service, kitchenette, if necessary, arrangements for air conditioning in room, daily newspaper, but unfortunately no toilet brush (according to the request, there is no daily, WC is used if more often, well not everyone cleaned by maid, ).

Family friendly hotel with reasonable suites in a great neighborhood. Across from Fairway Market, down the street from Zabar's.
