What a great little hotel find… tucked away on 71st and I have to say that the customer service with Keith is exceptional we’ll be back.

Run down hotel, definitely needs more than 1 elevator. If you stay, try to request a lower floor. The rooms are in need of remodeling. However customer service was great.

Clean, comfortable room but very small. We had to use the bed as a place to place our luggage in order to get through the room. Excellent location between Central Park, subway; just around the corner from The Dakotas. Breakfast was good but not enough room for everyone to sit. Staff was helpful.

Broken promises and disappointments. We booked a room with a King bed months in advance, the king bed is nice because my wife is pregnant and it's nice to have the extra room. Upon arrival the hotel staff informed us they didn't have a king room available and we were now moved into a full bed, not even a queen. The staff wasn't too apologetic either, just more matter of fact. Not to worry, we got a 25$ refund which still amounted to a room that was more expensive than the rate that day online. Very disappointing. The bathroom was at least nice. Not coming back again.

40 bucks to park a block away and walk to the hotel. Room was so small it was comical. Staff that was supposed to be taking care of breakfast was sitting down eating. When I asked for someone to bring more eggs she said… yea I'll get it… I guess she meant when she was done eating. More eggs never came. Orange juice was actually watered down, never seen such a thing. I'm not really hard to please, read my other reviews. This place was a complete disappointment. Would not recommend.

I stayed at La quinta Inn for a week and I loved it. Superb location, right by central park. Staff at at hand when needed. Keith the gentleman at the reception, is a chap you will never forget, always attentive and welcoming, he truly ensured I had the best possible experience. A faultless stay and one that I hope to make again. If you are looking for a non-pretentious easy, relaxed place to stay la quinta inn should be your choice! Alberto.

I enjoyed my stay in NYC, small rooms are expected, but they were upgraded/remolded and CLEAN! Contential breakfast was good They had multiple options that were hot and/or hearty! And our concierge Keith was awesome! Extremely personable and accommodating! we will b back! Had an awesome experience!

The +: breakfast every morning. The bedding is comfortable and we were able to rest well. The room staff is friendly. The room is made on our return every day and the towels changed. Well located hotel, neighborhood on, close to subway less than 5min for the 2 lines that serve the strategic points of Manhattan, Central Park 2min, a Mac do 24h/24h at 5min, and various restaurant 5 min.
The —: extremely small room, we only had 3 hand baggage and very little place to put them (but we're going back to the hotel just to sleep). Tiny bathroom (hard access for someone overweight! ) Elevator can be long as 14 floors and only 1 elevator quite small. Breakfast room quickly filled in hours of "spikes".

Quiet place, daily housekeeping of rooms if you wish. Breakfast included, varied. I do not give 5 edtrellas because it lacks ventilation, you can not open windows and the air conditioner makes a lot of noise. I would recommend this site at all.

The rooms are impossibly small, nothing like the photos they show. Bathroom same thing. Our sink was the size of a postage stamp. Outdated all around. We could tolerate most of it for 4 nights, except ONE detail: the hotel doesn't have a room to store luggage, so dozens of suitcases are floating around the lobby all day long, and anyone could just walk in, and help themselves! Location is great, near 2 main subway lines.

I’ve been a gold member since this hotel chain first came about, Ive stayed in every state across the country in this hotel chain because they are known to be pet friendly except this and other manhattan locations. What a shame. You guys need to step up your game. Will not give you my business or any of the non pet friendly ones.

I went on vacation in February in this hotel it is extremely well located 2 Metro mouth a Coter Central Park is at 50 m.
The beds very comfortable but the room and the bathroom very small and poorly insulated.

If you are looking for clean, budget hotel and very well connected. Quiet area and next to central park. The breakfasts are good. The drawback is that the rooms you hear a little engine noise of the air conditioners, but you can sleep.

HONEST REVIEW! This hotel is a blast! If you are visiting new york and you are looking for place where you can sleep this is an amazing option! The room was CLEAN the hotel is located in front of Central Park and just 2 min to a metro station. We arrived at 11:00 PM and the check in was AMAZING. The staff was very helpful and kind. They didnt charge more than the price they put in their website. The breakfast is included and is basic but is GOOD. It could be a little packed but if you arrive early you will have goof breakfast (The girls refill the food every 5 minutes) They clean your room and put towels everyday. The water pressure is amazing and is hot! Also, they hold our luggage after the check out without any problem! I would stay here again for sure! 100% recommended!

So the room was a grand total of $95 when we stayed for the upper east side location on 71st. The room was clean, had a comfy bed and a shower. For that money in New York I was happy. We only stayed one night and it was more than sufficient for our evening in the city. I would book again.

Conveniently located central location and easy access to the metro where you can walk very comfortable and close to central park.

You get what you pay for. Complimentary breakfast and very welcoming staff. Some noise can be heard through the walls and the sound of doors opening and closing. The great part was the 24/7 access to free coffee and nearby restaurants. Central park is a couple of minutes away and the hotel is located near a subway entrance making it easier to tour the city.

I had a great experience! The hotel room and bathroom were both small, but cozy, and CLEAN. The hotel was busy and there was a bit of a line to check-in, but the staff moved quickly, were friendly and accommodating. The free breakfast was a bit crowded, but had a great food selection. I would absolutely stay here again!

I've been to this tiny hotel twice, and I'll definitely come back! I would suggest to ask for a room at a lower floor as the elevator is extremely slow. I've been twice on a corner king room, which are small but big enough for 2 people and full with everything a traveler needs. Sometime you can see the sky from the windows, sometime upper west resident living rooms, and if you lean outside even Central Park.

Great location on a quiet street. Rooms are small but the beds are comfortable. The staff is super friendly and helpful especially Zach who was at the desk in the evenings. I was a little worried after reading some of the reviews but they were laid to rest. There is only one elevator and sometimes you do have too wait but it wasn’t really that big of a deal.

I would stay here again. It is a modest facility but given the very steep prices for rooms in NYC, it is good value and especially well-located. It is a half-block away from Central Park, one block from the subway, and about a 10-minute walk from the Museum of Natural History.

Loved every min of my NYC stay. Keith at the front desk was a tremendous help and very accommodating. The staff was very friendly and breakfast was included. The location is incredible and we will be back. This was the view from our room.

Great location by Central Park was the highlight. Small remodeled rooms, which we were not surprised by. Front desk staff very friendly, cafeteria staff not so much. Would have probably received 4 stars had they not mixed up our luggage with someone else. If you do leave your luggage in front desk area… be sure to write your name on it. They have so many bags they just put to the side with no tags whatsoever. We were stressing it out while at JFK when we noticed we had the wrong bag. Come to find out they handed us the wrong one at hotel. We had to go to great lengths to be able to leave the bag we had somehwere at JFK so they could pick it up.

Absolutely horrible customer service from La Quinta. I was booked for a reservation at the Brooklyn location, but shortly before my arrival date contacted by voice mail and told this hotel was overbooked, and my reservation canceled. I tried contacting them to see what they could do for me, and after an hour on the phone sitting on hold with various people, the most they'd do is book me at this LQ hotel, miles away, at twice the rate, instead of owning up to their mistake and giving me the rate I had booked for. Luckily, I got a booking with a competing hotel. I won't be making any more reservations with La Quinta since they happily overbook hotels and then do absolutely nothing for you to rectify their mistake.

The most friendly and professional hospitality group of staff I have been encountered in NYC hotel. The location is a gem. Next to Central Park. Corner of The famous Majestic Building & Dakota steps away from strawberry fields in memory of JOHN lennon.

Friendly Staff, Rooms are super extremely small and the rooms do not match the pictures advertised on the website. Falsely Advertised. Clean hotel except, the bed sheets had hidden little dark stains, (signs of Bed Bugs). That day as soon as we checked in my spouse and I ordered house keeping to change the sheets asap due to the hidden stains we noticed. The breakfast is ok and the rooms are not provided with refrigeration. I advise to not come here. There are better bigger hotel rooms with better prices than this Hotel has to offer. Definitely was not worth my money in which I paid a grip for a super small room. The worst hotel I ever stayed in.

Excellent location near central park on a quiet street, Broadway and times square are only a short walk away. The beds are really comfy. The breakfast selection is a little small and the rooms aircon unit is pretty loud, but it does keep the room cool which is good.

The hotel is very well connected to the subway net and it is quite easy to move either downtown or uptown from there. The reception staff were quite attentive, friendly and helpful, in particular Keith. I did not rate it 5 just for the narrow elevator and the somewhat basic breakfast. For the rest, I had a wonderful stay at La Quinta Inn and would definitely recommend it.

Hotel in good location. For the rest you have to settle. The rooms are tiny and you struggle to keep your luggage. Very small bathroom. No fridge. Small breakfast Room.

I booked a 1 queen bed room for myself only and it was extremely tiny! I mean, it had everything I needed, I just wasn't used to the size. I am still rating it 4 stars because it was clean; it was in a good location (easy to go anywhere, grab a bite, go shopping and to central park, and feel like a new yorker even for a little bit) ; and the staff was so so so nice all the time! I just don't recommend walking so late in this area since there a lot of homeless people that tend to scream and be scary. But this has nothing to do with the hotel itself since it can be anywhere in NYC. Just something I thought I should mention.

First time in NYC and not disappointed, the rooms are smaller than we are accustomed to but everything seems condensed. Breakfast is continental, slim choices but satisfying. The personnel were very helpful, we asked for and quickly received more towels, great food recommendations and tech support helped me on an early Sunday morning. Overall the space is tight but the help and other guest were very friendly.

I stayed here in December 2016 and I am still getting over the shock of this "hotel". This hotel is by far the worst hotel I have ever stayed in, when I saw my room I could have burst into tears after looking forward to trip for so long. Our room was so small that 3 people struggled to fit into it however I was ensured by management that it was a 3 people room (3 rats maybe). The rooms where also outdated and dirty. My main concern was the security of the room door as it was clearly unfit for purpose anyone could have broken into my room by just slightly pushing the door. But once I brought this up with the staff they couldn't have been less interested. Another problem was that the pictures I seen online and the true look of the hotel were VERY MISSLEADING! Do not go by what you see online. The breakfast on offer was poor at best and the dining area had no more than 6/7 tables. The staff need to be taught on how to interact with customers as every single staff member was rude, unhelpful and their behaviour towards me was absolutely appalling. I wouldn't let my dog stay here. Avoid this "hotel" (dump)

Ideal location to turn New York without being in the center. Excellent value for money, two steps from the Metro and Central Park (entrance West, imagine). Small rooms but in the standard of New York, breakfast plentiful and for all tastes.

Excellent location, close to the subway, museums and Central Park, ideal for jogging. Serve in a very entertaining and highlights your breakfast! I recommend it!

Great location and bad accommodations.

It was the dirtiest hotel in the world. The room unbelievably small, dirty, noisy and without windows to outside. There was no oxigine in the whole building. There was only one and the slowest elevator for 14 floors. I can't forget those mold smell at the room and the corridor. The beds were dirty, bloody…

I've passed by here a million times while walking through quite possibly the best neighborhood in SF, and always thought about staying here. Bottom line, you get exactly what you pay for-a clean, cute enough space with very little amenities, and no private bathrooms that's stumbling distance from about a million great places. It ain't the ritz, but it's perfectly acceptable for a place to crash after tying one on at absinthe.

Very positive experience. We were pleasantly surprised to find that the room was larger than it appeared in the photos. The halls and elevator were small as expected in an older building. Breakfast was delish! And the staff was friendly and accommodating.

Perfect place to stay in NYC. Staff is well behaved and trained. Rooms are clean and odorless. The person name Farhan Khan, I guess he is an assistant manager, helped me with directions and places in NYC to make my trip worthy. I appreciate his help and others in the hotel. Pretty small hotel and the elevator is not good.

This hotel is not a safe place to be because of all the health and safety violations. This hotel is a fire hazard because it has furniture and cleaning carts stored in the hallways obstructing the walkway to the elevator. One elevator in the entire hotel. Everything the hotel said it had… was a LIE. I ask "can I see the Thanksgiving Day Parade from my room" answer Yes just look out your window. This is a lie, the hotel is one block away from the Parade. I was promised a cot for my grandchild, I did not get it, "they were all out, Sorry. '

It was the worst ever on arrival the elevator didn't work, we get to our room no heat, wife went to bathroom door locked, had to call maintenance to remove lock it was broken, just one disappointment after another, even thou I am a choice member I would not recommend this place.

Rooms are ludicrously, laughably small. However, this is to be expected given the building's original design. However, charging what they do for such a space is obscene. That's not even close to the real issue here. I woke up in the morning to no running water. None. There was also no "hot breakfast" as advertised, unless you count hot toast coming out of a toaster as a "hot breakfast". There was a metal container normally used in other Choice hotels for eggs, bacon, sausage, etc. Just sitting there empty, as nothing more than a tease. The Wifi is really fast… if you've traveled back in time to 1998. All of this said, I could have easily given this more than one star (perhaps two or maybe even three) if it weren't for how HORRIBLY they have dealt with the customer service side of these problems. No manager would return a call or an email, and after several attempts to get any sort of resolution, I finally just had to challenge the charge on my credit card. I could have had a very similar and MUCH less expensive experience sleeping in my car or in Central Park with a comfortable pillow.

The only positive thing about this Hotel is its location. Unfortunately, the rooms are quite small. The air conditioning system in the rooms are extremely loud and blow a nasty air into it. Fresh air is not to think. Breakfast, well, America just…

Really good hotel, especially for NYC's prices and standards, great deal and pretty decent service. Only thing I would improve is replace carpet with a floor that is easier to clean.

Stayed here while my business trip. The hotel is located in well location and with the price I paid was better and am satisfied with my stay.

When I stayed here it was 25 degrees outside and the geniuses that work there let the boiler room water tank run completely out of water. Therefore the entire hotel was without heat! They advertise wireless internet but the internet did not work the entire stay. I'm giving it 2 stars only because the location is excellent right next to Central Park.

Great spot. Close to park and Columbus. Couldn't swing a cat in the room and wife and daughter not keen on the breaky. Id eat anything if it's free but croissant and coffee in c park was better. I'd go back though for location.

This is a great place to stay near Central Park. It is convenient to all the sights you want to see while in New York and the staff is very helpful.

Tiny room that looks very old and dated. Internet connection is very very slow and pages time out frequently. Breakfast: Queue to get table, no yoghurt, no eggs, no waffles and no knifes (for three days straight).

Great location, great rate for New York, no so good for budget travelers. Very narrow hallways and little space to move around in room. Anyone over 250lbs could not cross in the hallway — even bodybuilder. Highly recommend renting bikes to tour central park, well on a sunny day! Wifi was average speed, bed was clean.

If you are traveling to NYC to sit in your room and admire how nice your room is, how big it is, how expensive it is, etc. Then you should not stay here. However, if you are traveling to New York to experience the city while being centrally located to most things in Manhattan (especially Museums), and still have money to spend on dinners out then you should certainly stay here! The room is smallish. But not too small, and I was surprised at how big it was considering the reviews. The continental breakfast is perfect to get a little fuel for the morning, but certainly not the 4 star breakfast that a lot of reviewers were apparently expecting. Cleanliness. Well it's an inexpensive room in NYC so I am not sure what you expect. Basically, there are a lot of really nice places you can stay on the Upper West side and they only cost $400-700. So feel free to stay there but I will always stay here when I am in the city. I will spend the savings on great food.

I am a Platinum member (I know what I'm talking about) and really disappointed for quality/price ($320) or 90 000pts, the rooms are tiny, no soundproofing, bed as the gello, no fan in bathroom (keeps all the smells of a latrine), heat from the bi-polar water, radiator that laments all the nights, slow wireless network, (parking 2 streets below) really basic and I'm being generous. Next time, no thank you, and I will book up to Times square! P. S. The staff on the other hand, is at the heights.

Centeral Park is a very lovely place to visit. Bring the whole family and have a picnic. Climb rocks or just play on the playgrounds. You can aslo take a hose buggy ride arount he park. IThe subway is very close by as well, easy to get to.

Hotel is great if you are looking for good location and price. No frills, but with everything you need to visit the city. Stayed a week and if he should return to NY (hopefully) wouldn't hesitate to return.

The location is unbeatable. Metro station around the corner, but yet so far away from Times Square, that man can sleep, next to Central Park. Not to be recommended in the summer: the rooms are very small, I had one to the courtyard (of about one square meter in size is on the second floor. It was virtually never light in the room. The window does not open, (but there is) without air conditioning, it's unbearable hot. Overall, it is but very stuffy. The staff is very friendly, very accommodating. Breakfast is getting, but satisfactory by using much disposable material. It is not really clean everything already, very old, not really in top condition. It is but OK to sleep, you may want to just not here long stay. Total find eich the price of $199 the night for a small room slightly steep, but that seems to be arguably New York STandard.
