Completely satisfied loved everything from the staff and food wise.

Walked by one hot day and the gentleman at the bar let my daughter and I in to cool off and have a refreshment. We were so impressed that we made reservations for dinner the next day. It was a lovely evening, our food was amazing and service was very nice.

The Restaurant at The Mark by Jean George is absolutely delicious (not that it’s a huge surprise since you really can not go wrong with anywhere Jean George is involved! ). So I highly recommend it and the Hotel is gorgeous and pure luxury so hit it up!

It's a great place to stay in a quiet area, contemporary style and good atmosphere for business too. Very recomendable for those who have visite NY and look something different and luxury but close to main attractions, specially museums, Metropolitan es a few minutes waking, Natural History one is across Central Park.

Love this hotel even though we had a short stay. Really nice helpful staff. Room was really nice and spacious and perfectly clean. The bathtub was my favorite because it was huge and a cozy place to unwind.

Atmosphere is great. Most staff is amazing. Front desk staff is very attentive. My one star is coming from one horrible horrific interaction. I was told by a director that this hotel " does not like people like me staying at the hotel". This is very sad that a person could say that to someone.

I'm a Talent Agent. I tried to speak with the person in charge of events co ordination. Forget it. My client is a celebrity and this person Julia has a habit of disconnecting, not returning phone calls and no general idea of how to orchestrate the business. So glad my client didn't observe this as much as I did but NEVER TRY TO BOOK ANYTHING OF NORMALITY HERE. It's apparently a horrible experience. Thanks Julia for your service (even after speaking with you and putting us off. ) Hope you gain other celebs :) this one wont be taking part. You deserve none of the above.

Stunning hotel. One of my favorites for sure. Just wish the staff was a little more welcoming and bubbly. Once you talk to them they are nice but I found most of them just standing like statues sometimes.

Great food, good service. The discussion was a little loud with children (hotel guests).

Food is always good. Service during brunch can be slow due to popularity. The constant downside is the number of small, misbehaved children. I don't need to be paying upwards of $100 for brunch while listening to your kid slam silverware on the plates.

The people who work at the hotel are great. The guest in the Bar were disgusting and rude.

I have died and gone to hotel heaven! I consider myself a hotel snob with a flair for fine interiors. Those who know me would certainly agree. The Mark definitely checks off my list in many ways. From the arrival to check in, the journey in the elevator to opening the door to the well appointed room, and jaw dropping bathroom. Everyone on the staff is uberly attentive, and very welcoming. Dinner at The Mark’s restaurant by Jean-Georges was superb. The black truffle pizza paired with a Riesling that was like “butta”, was just what I needed to wind down from a long flight. I’m so looking forward to the rest of my stay, as well as dining here again tomorrow night. The Mark gets 10’s from me. This place!

Great place, great staff except for one minor mistake of one who took my almost finished dessert plate without me asking, though he apologized after. Twas my first time and I brought along a friend for a great morning brunch, we indeed had with a Mark breakfast with freshly made carrot juice and my irresistible avocado toast with salmon and poached egg. The friendly doorman was so kind enough to take our photo in front of the very beautiful flower cart. Will definitely come back with more friends.

The room was great. Great bed. Great Facilities. Only two but… noisy — you need another isolation in the window and you hear all the rattle of the street that is not little and the second is the fridge in the room; Looks like a steam locomotive. At night we turn it off and it's done.

A great disappointment. Expected much more! The facilities are very good, the rooms super complete but lacks quality and delicacy to contain the Hotel guests my experience is that they are more attentive to the operation of the bar and the restaurant than the passengers staying there. As Hotel is a very expensive bar!

The overall service itself was pretty good, the staff were kind. Our waitress left halfway through service and delayed our led courses significantly. The food was the main reason I didn't give it a good score. The food was bland, under seasoned and overall just not worth the excessive prices they charged on valentines day.

Super super delicious food. Great healthy juices, delicious pizza, and wonderful burgers. Margaritas also highly recommended.

I was not a guest but I came through to the lobby to ask the concierge for help regarding directions. He was super friendly and helpful for my questions!

The most incredible New York City hotel experience awaits at the Mark. Gorgeous location… very friendly and professional staff. I highly recommend.

Sadly for my wife, on her birthday, the food was mediocre at best. The $72 Dover sole special was bland with a congealed mustard sauce. She barely touched it. The presentation of the food, in general, was average. To add insult to injury, the $13 cupcake was what I can purchase at Stop & Shop. I will say that the service was fairly attentive. With so many choices in New York, go elsewhere. I made the wrong choice this go around.

Had a lovely breakfast at the Mark Restaurant. The food is prepared and presented beautifully and it's delicious. What's even more, although the restaurant was quite busy, the staff was charming and attentive. Kudos to the manage (I think it was Kyle) for his warm welcome.

Easily my favourite hotel in NY, boutique feel in a great neighbourhood, steps from the park and museum. Round the corner from St Ambreous for coffee and across from the Carlyle of you want a lively bar. Staff are friendly without being intrusive and people know you by name … probably because it's an upscale apartment hotel.

I was just passing it, felt hungry and decided to drop in for brunch. Dont regret it. Eggs with salmon was delicious … although very expensive. (minus one star for that).

The service at the Mark is absolutely excellent! The turn down service is impressive right down to turning on some low sound jazz music in your room. They really think about the small details like rolling out your bath mat plus putting your in room slippers by your bed.

I went to The Mark for breakfast and had the eggs Benedict with salmon and it was delicious. The staff are very nice.

Drinks are well made and the bar area is cozy. A bit small bar but overall the impression of the hotell is really good.

If anyone is looking for a great deal on hotels you can check it out on HotelRaven. Com Booked a room on there and they had the cheapest rates around… Lovely rooms. Great staff. But bar far too small for size of hotel. Also, perhaps just a British thing, but complimentary coffee/tea making things in the room is always nice!

If any of you are looking for really good hotel deals I would check out HotelRaven. Com I saved a ton of money using that site. Tables are well spaced so even at the height of dinner, you can talk and be heard. Food is great. Staff plenty but, last night, was oddly inattentive. Attractive, nicely dressed crowd. Menu terrific (you can even get a hamburger) and enough to make it a neighborhood restaurant… ok, a very expensive neighborhood restaurant. I DON'T LIKE THE CHAIRS in the main dining room as they are over-designed and bother my back. If that's the case for you (as it is for many), ask for a pillow… it helps. Better, try to score a table in the bar area of the dining room where the chairs are more "normal"

Came to New York, NY to meet up with friends and escape the relative boredom that is Raleigh. On an awesome Saturday my friends and I sidled up to the bar and grabbed a number of awesome cocktails. Not empty and definitely not too crowded. The bartenders were friendly and engaging and we were able to get food at the bar as well, which was quite good including the pate. I went with the Infinite Sadness, which is quite the opposite. Probably one of the best cocktails I've had anywhere. The rest of the bar list is quite extensive and recommended. Looking at the other reviews here it looks like on my return trip to I'm gonna have to hit up brunch…

Wow, wish I had checked out reviews on Google before going here. Loud, poorly designed restaurant with people smoking cigarettes on the outside portion of the restaurant (isn't that illegal? ). We had to move twice. Food, super "representational"; meaning looked beautiful, tasted, well meh. Service very good, but tip options were 18%/20%/22% or "other". Tips are "tips", not requirements. This is a 5 star hotel, and a 1 star restaurant. Wine pricing insane: one glass of Bellacrout Salmon Rose — $45 which is almost what a bottle costs at the liquor store across the street. Look, we're NY residents so we're pretty immune to sticker shock. But this is silly 'ville. I would encourage anyone thinking of eating here to reconsider. A million better options in the concrete jungle.

Stayed 4 nights — WONDERFUL. Great rooms, big bathrooms. Great area to stay, good food, great service. Great combination of old charm with great modern twist.

This is one of the best hotel in New York, the customer service is amazing, the location perfect and the luxury of the rooms and generally speaking is a piece of art A+++.

Great bar and novo restaurant, it is open until late so it is perfect for a late bite. The cheesecake is good, and the wine selection plus the inventive cocktails and the relax atmosphere make it a nice spot to try.

Located on the Upper East Side of Manhattan, The Mark Hotel continues to be one of my favorite stays in New York. The palpable art-deco inspired design is evident from the interchanging black and white striped square marble floors in the lobby. The superlative interpersonal skills of the staff here are the best of any hotel I’ve stayed at in New York. Whether you’re staying here for business or leisure, you are treated as if the experience is meant to be a resort vacation. The rooms are manicured to perfection and I love the detail of the leather topped desks and tweed fabric chairs. Complete with a fully stocked bar (and do I mean FULLY), ample closet and drawer space and a stunning bathroom. The bathrooms here alone will motivate you to return again and again. The white marble sink with double vanity that features a built in TV is a nice touch. But what I really love is the heated towel holders, which is especially appreciated during colder mornings. The shower is roomy and beautiful, but I suggest taking a load off in the marble soaking tub if you have the time. Quarters are kept flawless by the thorough housekeeping that leaves everything looking as it was when you first arrived. Though I haven’t yet had the pleasure of dining at The Mark’s restaurant, I can account for their in-house dining to be a flawless and memorable experience of its own. Food arrives promptly, hot and fresh.

The restaurant is owned by Jean-Georges. The decor is nice, cozy. We can find all kind of food even Pizza. I took the Prime NY strip and my husband the Veal Milanese, the meat was excellent and well cooked.

I stayed at the Mark Hotel for my anniversary weekend this past February, 2013. Knowing that the hotel was very popular, I was a bit worried about noise, however I couldn't hear a thing even though there were many other guests on my floor and we faced Madison Avenue. I was so thrilled to be in a luxurious, beautiful and quiet atmosphere. My husband and I had a memorable stay, from the beautifully decorated rooms to raiding the minibar of all the great snacks, we couldn't have felt more pampered in our rooms, although the huge bathrooms were definitely our favorite part! We are by no means a wealthy couple but when we do travel we enjoy staying at the best hotels to treat ourselves, we have stayed at some truly unforgettable places around the world, however what really sets the Mark apart is the staff. From the front desk managers, to the bellhop, to the bartender who stayed open just a few minutes later to mix a special cocktail for us, the people here made us feel welcome and cared for, without an ounce of disingenuousness. We enjoyed cookies from the kitchen, a lovely meal at the restaurant, t and cocktails at the bar. All so chic and lovely, but doesn't feel "snooty" at all. I would recommend this hotel to anyone looking for an extra special stay. The staff make this hotel feel like a very luxe home away from home.

Visually, The Mark is everything it sells itself to be — a glorious art deco feel and a real sense of individual style in a city where corporate design is king. For me, the challenge they have is to embrace the friendliness and individual service that the very best boutique hotels deliver. Overwhelmingly, my impression was that the well heeled clientele who were spending freely in the bar and restaurant were of more importance to the staff than the guests in the hotel. Disappointing examples included going in search of somewhere to read a book and have a cocktail, only to be told that the bar was full and that the restaurant bar was out of bounds unless you had a dinner reservation. It was tactfully suggested to me that I should sit in reception, where there was a sofa — really, they could have cared less. But not much. I had room service — nowhere else to go. Something they could learn from the excellent Firmdale Hotels in London is to have a small but comfy space for hotel guests only, perhaps with an honesty bar — just somewhere to relax that's not your room. Right now, if the bar is doing is doing its usual roaring trade and the restaurant is filled with the beau monde, you might find yourself having a club sandwich on your bed. Between bites of my club sandwich in my room, I asked the concierge where I could rent a bike — a list was promised but never appeared.
