Very nice hotel in the heart of Chelsea.

I would most certainly recommend the hotel but stumbled on a few hiccups ups. I paid for the entire package through Orbits but they never mentioned incidental fees per night. Aside from the money we had for food and shopping we provided another charge card to pay the unexpected incidental fees. We were told the funds would be placed back into the account in 3-5 business days. After speaking to a different Concierge just moments ago I was told that debit purchases will take up… to seven days to appear back into our accounts. I haven't stayed in a hotel for many years. I believe all additional charges should be paid up front and mentioned ahead of time. I believe your establishment should reach out to all second and third partiers to remind them of the hidden fees. And also make certain all team members are providing accurate information of credit and debit card refunds.

Fantastic boutique hotel in a superb location right in the heart of Chelsea. Great staff and service. Highly recommend.

5 Amazing place. It is so peaceful, organized and beautiful. It feels great to be there. I love the food at the restaurant. Excellent! I love the staff. They are all so nice and helpful. Highly recommend it. Janis and Jorge were very helpful. Jorge helped us to get our taxis and was also very helpful with recommendations around the neighborhood. I can’t wait to go back.

Very convenient location, nice staff and unique interiors in the lobby. Rooms are reasonable, although they look and even smell a bit like ship quarters. Bed was way too soft, only soft pillows and really itchy fabric which made me uncomfortable the two nights I stayed here. Have heard good things about breakfast but did not try.

Lovely sea time hotel. Rooms look like a cabin aboard a ship. Great location, friendly staff. Love the continental breakfast. Absolutely would stay here again.

The hotel is conveniently located, it's close to Chelsea market and 14 street/8av metro station. The room is clean and adequate. You can also enjoy a modest but complimentary breakfast in their restaurant which was very nice. The reason why it gets 4 stars is because the walls are thin and the doors are not soundproof. I could hear phone conversations and music going on next door. To give them credit, when I called the front desk to address the issue they did resolve it quickly. And the pipe under the sink was leaking, and their complimentary bathroom products were more tailored to men (scent-wise). But overall a satisfactory stay.

Room is on the small side, but comfy. The big portal window is awesome and opens up for some fresh air. Free breakfast is pretty good. Normal continental selection but tastes good. Room service was really fast and good as well.

This a fun little place in the meat packing district not far from
Chelsea Pier. Not an ideal location if you are doing the theater district but really very unique. Every window is round like a porthole and the rooms are decorated like the older cruise ships — with wrap around dark wood paneling. Given another conference in this general area, I would definitely consider it.

My wife and I stayed 4 nights here and loved the location and comfort this hotel offers. Upon first entering the hotel off 16th and ascending the steps you enter a calm and peaceful lobby. The blue and wood tones are soothing in sharp contrast the grey and black of the city outside. Everything is very thoughtful and beautifully designed. The restaurant/bar is one of the best I’ve been in. Even though we had rain on our stay it was enough just to sit by the window and watch the world go by. I highly recommend getting a night, or two or three, here.

This is the my favorite hotel in NYC! The location is great but more importantly their customer service is top notch. I also love that the faces at the front desk have stayed mostly the same over the 7 years I've been staying there. It's clear they are doing something right.

Negatives: the cleaning staff was at our door at 9 am everyday and if we didn’t have the do not disturb sign up then they were asking when we would leave. I’ve never experienced that at any other hotel and I’ve stayed at lots of them. They also stopped giving us toiletries after 4 days into our 8 day stay. It’s a bit expensive and the drinks at the bar are super expensive. Tao night club is below so if you’re staying on the lower levels then you’ll end up staying up until past 4 am when it closes. We were on the 8th level and heard cars honking all night long in front of the nightclub. It’s expected in New York but we’ve stayed in busier areas and didn’t have that much taxi noise outside of our window. The shower also never seemed to be cleaned and when we put some of our baby’s food and bottle in the fridge they emptied out everything but our few things from the fridge so we didn’t get cold sodas and juices if we wanted. There also isn’t an easy way into the hotel if you’re handicapped or have a stroller. Positives: great location! It’s a 30 minute walk to several attractions and Chelsea Market is across the street. Definitely go there! The breakfast was okay but the drinks were delicious (better be for how much they cost! ). The building itself is really neat looking and the inside looks like something Ernest Hemingway would love! It was super cozy and welcoming. The staff was incredible!

Very nice and cozy hotel with stylish and comfortable rooms. There is a bar and pretty good Italian restaurant downstairs. This is in Chelsea so there is always stuff going on and people around. So the choice of restaurants and bars around here sends endless.

GOOD: Good Beds (slept well), awesome location right across Chelsea Market, 5 minute walk from High Line. Compact yet functional rooms (table with chairs), good toiletries, all rooms have a large porthole window with view, pet friendly, quiet lobby, excellent housekeeping. BAD: Direct facing 9th Ave therefore especially loud street noise (light sleepers bring earplugs). All rooms have 1 bed so rooms cannot accommodate 4 adults. HIGHLY recommend this hotel for a low key and simple Manhattan stay.

I always stay at the Maritime when I come to NYC. Everything is easy, streamlined, clean. — classy. I am always super well treated. Location is perfect.

Great stay in this welcoming hotel, smiling and beautiful Deco, service at the top, very good breakfast, well placed (only small worries in our room, window Windows are not very effective for street noises)

Love the nautical theme without being kitchsy. The huge round windows (that open! ) are very cool. Great staff and location.

We had an amazing experience staying at the Maritime Hotel. Very clean, small rooms but stylish, and breakfast is included. We loved being close to the Chelsea Market and other good restaurants in the area.

Great location if you like to party, lots of clubs and bars neaby. The Chelsea market is across the street, great place to eat fish tacos and other things. The room was okay.

It's one of my favorite hotels. Always impeccable. Gracious staff always willing to go that extra step to make your stay as comfortable as possible. They are very informed about the local area, new dining hot spots, events and new things to do and see in the city. Rooms are large and comfortable and very cozy wood paneling makes the atmosphere inviting and cozy. The local Bigelow bath products are a nice a nice nod to the neighborhood.

Clean rooms and a great location. When we got there, the room wasn't ready. The receptionist said she would call when our room was ready, but never called. Luckily, when we came back, our room was ready. Everything else wad great.

This is an authentic full service welcoming hotel. It's marine them is well set by design, not by simply hanging a picture of a boat and some blue painted walls. The rooms are cozy, wonderful bed, gym, restaurant, bikes you can use. The front desk is friendly and quick with service. It is well worth the money when staying in NY. Besides, Chelsea Market is basically across the street.

I really enjoyed my stay. Despite the small rooms, they are well decorated with a cozy feel. The amenities are top notch. The room has plenty of surfaces and storage. The bed and pillows are quite comfortable.

The valets are great, the staff is very accommodating, and the rooms make use of the space well. Everything is nautical, and the giant circular window in your room is really pulls it all together and gives you a great view. Bonus, there are little shelves built in to the side of the bed for your phone.

Hotel was fine. The pillows are a bit soft and smell (though not badly) so that you feel like someone else has used them first. Doesn't feel 'fresh'. I would probably choose to stay at one of the other hotels in this neighbourhood next time.

Really nice free breakfast with bagels and cream cheese, blueberries, granola and yogurt, fresh fruit and freshly squeezed juice. The hotel has a nautical theme and a really fantastic reading room lobby. All the standard amenities and a great location.

Impeccably clean and well maintained place, friendly staff, good location. Only slight downside is that sometimes you can hear the music playing from the clubs below and next door, but as far as NYC goes it's better then most. They even provide a handy insert for the window to dampen the noise.

Lobby interesting, but the rooms are not level. Too small for two with two suitcases. The smell and the moisture everywhere give an impression of a quaint hotel. To finish on a last fake note, even though NYC is not a quiet or silent city, we did not actually sleep the night, the hotel being located above a club. (Despite the plugs balls)

Good service and friendly staff. The rooms are a bit small, but comfortable and include all the standard amenities, including a mini fridge tucked away in the closet. Internet and breakfast are also included and DVDs can be borrowed from the front desk if you're staying in for the night.

Fine location in Chelsea. Very nice and friendly service from receptionist and doormen. Rooms are modern/old-school/hipster. Great bed. Very quiet.

By far one of the most wonderful experiences. I have to say my server Adriana puts the Happy in Happy Hour. She was very friendly, has a pretty smile, and she made great recommendations on the drinks and food. The Guacamole was delicious! I will definitely come back and ask for Adriana.

Horrible smell throughout the floor our room was on. (Think vomit and cleaning solution) Complained numerous times but nothing was done. Strong sound of the air coming through the vents. If that didn't keep you awake, the strong sensation of bass from the club next door did. We told them it was our anniversary yet they didn't go the smallest extra mile to do anything nice for us. No ice in the room or anywhere available on the floor. Rooms extremely small with very dated decor. A maritime themed hotel is a great idea but this place looks (and smells) like the hotel that time forgot. Very disappointed.

Very nice staff. Great restaurants nearby. Somewhat small but very comfortable rooms.

Location is prime, room is comfy and clean. However the room service and bathroom design can be improved: room service took away a towel and didn't put a new one back. Bathtub has a wide flat marble edge all around, which look nice, but can easily cause a flood during shower. Also my room's toilet cover can't be fully lifted because it was blocked by the extended marble countertop from the sink.

I love staying at the Maritime. The rooms are quaint, clean and the nautical theme is fun. Proximity to the Google office can't be beat. Happily will stay here again (and again)!

A very cozy hotel with its particular maritime style. The most obvious aspect of which is the round porthole windows, but I was more impressed with the wooden decor which reminded me of old sailing ships. My room is a little small, but on par with what I expect in New York, and it's well laid out, making the most of that space. The bathroom surprisingly has a very nice rain shower. Free Wi-Fi and complimentary breakfast round off the features, though I'd argue that the complimentary breakfast is a little sparse, missing the meats and cheeses I'd expect, but including a reasonable range of breads and drinks.

Great location next to Chelsea Market and Google offices. Room is quite small but super cozy. Great bed. Great lobby and bar. Staff is super friendly. Decent room view!

I liked it better than most hotels I've stayed at in the area. Nice comfortable rooms, casual vibe. I liked the rain head shower. Good value for the price relative to other nearby hotels. I'll stay here again.

It was great. The staff were so friendly and accommodating. The location was also great. Across from Chelsea market, great restaurants. Will definitely stay there again.

New Year's Eve. Latin music after 12, which was sort of a bummer especially since they advertised that they would play latest music. Toilets clogged. Had a bouncer there who was mad at everyone for telling him that the toilet was blogged. We got table service and it was just not worth it.

Nice hotel near Chelsea Market. Much more mature and calmer than the Dream next door. I'd recommend it for a better night sleep than at the Dream. Only complaint was that the AC seemed to be automatic and didn't respect the temperature I entered. I had to call down to the front desk to get them to reset it.

The Maritime is a really nice hotel located in a great neighborhood in New York. It has a unique naval style to the rooms, and the rooms are sized very typically for the area. The amenities are nice and the mini-bar was well stocked. There are plenty of great restaurants in the area within a couple minutes of walking distance.

Nice upscale hotel. Just upgraded the public spaces and the new restaurant is open. Rooms are large for New York with comfortable beds. Great time.

Do not book a room facing the street! I've been in many NYC hotels and this is the NOISIEST hotel I've ever been in. Incredible loud traffic all night long, for some reason every car had to honk it's horn until 2 am. There was a night club and some traffic stuff going that compelled cars to honk horns. It was absolutely horrible. We did not sleep for two nights. I've stayed in Time Square and this was ten times the decibel level. And we were on the tenth floor! We were total basket cases and when we checked out the 23 year old clerk did not seem to care. Again, stay away from this hotel. I am from NY, I am not exaggerating how crazy noisy this place is…

I checked in late in the night. Got to the room and it was smelling of Varnish. Front desk sent someone to check and confirm the room was painted recently. They had no other room and the only suggestion was to leave the window open which only made it worse since the hotel is in a very busy area of midtown, with very heavy traffic and lots horn sounds even after midnight. Other than it was a decent place.

Very high price for an establishment whose quality of services does not come out of the ordinary.

I am a native New Yorker and will keep to the directness of how we are known to be :) Drinks: Excellent. Try the Cruiser. Food: Excellent. Space: Designed to make you feel like you at a resort in a beach town. Very upscale yet casual vibe. Scene: Very cozy, spacious, and sleek rooftop bar. Open space and conducive to mixing and mingling. Good for get-togethers, date night, and out of town guests. Crowd: 20-50s Afterwork crowd. Pick-up scene. Mostly corporate types and professionals. People watching. Service: Really attentive and professional.

Few girlfriends and I showed up around 1030 on Thursday night. It was hard to find the entrance stairway to the bar. We walked up two flights of steps and you could hear crickets under the most random playlist known to man. It was completely dead. We grabbed one of the many tables available and put my coupon to use. We ordered a pitcher of mojitos. When the glasses made it out mouths we could smell a dirty sponge smell coming from the glass. Great way to start a Thirsty Thursday night! Hahaha! We hurried up downing our drinks, having a few photo ops and getting the hell out of dodge. Like I have said in previous reviews for meh places "thank God for coupons. ".

I love this spot to hang out with friends and drink under the amazing outdoor backdrop of the Maritime Hotel. The drinks are a bit pricey but the setting and service make it worthwhile. The nightime view of the porthole hotel windows and haphazardly strewn hanging lights give this place a very cozy and inviting atmosphere and warmth. The service was was excellent and the drinks were poured with a heavy hand! It's a great location for anyone on the west side of if you want to meet people from Brooklyn since it's just off the L line near 14th and 8t! Don't miss a chance to go here for some drinks, apps and most of all goodtimes with your friends.

A very airy and resort-like feel, and the decor is very beautiful. The outdoor area is great on a warm weather night. The downside is that the bar is a bit pricey. But if you've got a connection here, make a visit. You'll most likely stay the entire night and dance the night away. The crowd is surprisingly chill and attractive. A great place to socialize and meet new people — a very unexpected trait in this area of Manhattan.

Themed Sunday nights of Stiletto. The crowd was amazing and the tunes were great. Only bad thing is the prices. A bottled beer is $6 which blows. But other than that, the venue is great for the party. Definitely coming back when Stiletto starts up again in April.
