Two issues:
(1) Parking is a scam. The 'self park' option isnt really doable, as the lot isnt visible and you have to park in the valet area to go inside. So $65 right? pricier than local garages, but not horrible, right? We got in at 1pm on Fri and needed our car at 6pm Sat. Because it's over 24 hours, we had to pay ANOTHER FULL $65… They have no prorated fees, just flat. $130 to park at a $215 room for 29 hours. Scam. Park down the road. Avoid the hotel's parking. (2) Rude workers at the main desk AT NIGHT. The morning/early afternoon shift on Fri and Sat were professional as could be. The Friday and Sat night shifts were rude and had horrible attitudes. I cant praise or criticize the overall service because it is so mixed.

It's very clean and well kept, not the poshest Hotel but a good base, rooms are nice but no safe! I would recommend it though. Staff were extremely helpful and polite.

We had a large room with two Double bed's in it. What a lovely surprise to have so much room right downtown Chelsea! We were able to walk around to see all of the sights very easily, the only downside is that there is no food at this location. We were able to walk to get something to eat right down the street though! Free Wi-Fi was a plus. :)

Why are the reviews so good? The hotel smelled and was dirty/dusty. The carpets in the hallway had a layer of dirt and dust in the corners/next to the floorboards. I stayed awake in the lobby as long as I could last and hightailed it out of there in the morning. I swear I couldn’t sleep in my room because of the dust and smell and felt I was allergic to something. The carpets, cleaning and allergy situation in this hotel are horrendous. Not worth the Hotel Tonight discount. I may as well have flushed a couple benjamins down the toilet. Next time I’ll stick to the boutiques or smaller hotels with caring management rather than these franchisee run hotels that probably cut corners on cleanliness and healthfulness to squeeze a couple extra percent of profit by making their hotels miserable.

Great location in Chelsea close to Penn station. Staff was very friendly and attentive. Rooms are small but on par with most hotels in NYC. Clean and neat. Decent breakfast. Fridge and microwave in all rooms. Plenty of hot water in the shower.

Staff is excellent at this location! Lisa, Odie, Nicole… all very helpful and will go out of there way to make your experience great. Had an early check in and my bags were placed in my room when I got in from being out all day. So nice! Rooms are clean and have everything you need for your NYC stay. Great breakfast to start your day, too. Excellent location as well. Have to go to Chelsea market! Will definitely come back again!

Nice hotel smack in the middle of Manhattan, Chelsea. Perfectly placed to explore the city. Staff were friendly and helpful, the rooms clean and comfortable. We stayed six nights and would have been very happy to stay longer.

The hotel is tucked in a tight avenue in between other hotels. The view I had is overlooking other complex roof. The rooms are clean and amenities are standard. Given its location and ease of access to metro and other amenities, it's worth considering if you work close by.

Great experience, and price! We were upgraded to a higher floor at no extra charge. Room had a microwave and fridge, which was great. Staff was friendly and helpful. Would be nice if they had free breakfast at this one and room safes, but we dd just fine without both of those for our 3 day stay. Location is great for subway travel.

Rooms are a little snug, like typical sizes of New York and California one bed rooms small. However the staff was friendly. It lost a star when I had to go to either the 22nd or the 4th floor to get ice. I mean you gotta understand. That's crazy AF. HOWEVER they wont get a lower rating because we can use a fridge and microwave.

Staff is very friendly and helpful, but prepared for a pint sized room. The ice machine on the floors are shut off at night due too the " noise" level! Ha ha!

The hotel and rooms are decent, but my last stay on a Tuesday was awfully noisy late at night from a garbage truck (private sanitation) that kept me up from 1:30-2:45am. For over an hour I've had to listen to the idling engine and loud banging from garbage being collected. I've had the same exact experience with the Fashion District Hilton on what I believe was a Wednesday night. Be mindful of the nights you stay.

With such a low price (comparing to other same standard hotels) and the convenience of walking distance to Rockefeller center, this is a decent enough place to spend a few days in NY. The room is very new and clean and very sound proof, with considerate services. If you don’t mind about the size of a room, this is just a perfect place.

This was my first stay at the Hilton Garden Inn in Chelsea. To begin, I greatly enjoyed the location, the cleanliness and my entire room in general. I had no complaints about the hotel during my stay. It was only on my last day that were there some issues and I was greatly mistreated by the staff. Upon checking out I had my luggage held so I could do some work in the city for the day. Around 7pm on February 25 I came back to the hotel to pick up my bags. I had just finished dinner with my mother and while walking to the hotel we realized that we needed a restroom. We figured that the hotel lobby might have one. When we arrived at the Inn, no one greeted us for help. Because of this, we decided to look around the lobby trying to find a public restroom alone. This hotel has a restaurant on site used for breakfast. There are two forms of entry into the restaurant — through a public side door and a curtain near the bar. The door was completely unlocked and the curtain is…well a basic piece of fabric. Innocently we walked into the public dinning room in search of the restroom. Instead I was shocked to find all of my luggage in this dinning/kitchen area right besides a table: completely unsecured. Other customer’s luggage was scattered around the room in the same way. There was even a backpack in one of the kitchen dish pans! The luggage tickets were scattered all over the table and silverware.

For the price it’s perfectly okay. Rooms are very outdated but clean. Staff is nice, our first room had a problem with the window and they switched us to a different one without any fuss.

The staff here made my entire stay even better than it already was. Really, they could not have been more welcoming. The rooms were clean and comfortable but otherwise standard. I will stay here again.

Easy to find, the staff was extremely welcoming and made the check-in and out a quick easy process. Rooms were clean, came with a microwave, fridge, and keurig. Definitely will be staying there again.

The hotel has some interesting advantages: good location, free Wi-Fi available in the room or even tea and coffee making facilities in the room and in the hotel lobby. The staff are available and very welcoming. We had a room for 4; No worries of place in the room or in the bathroom. Isolation at the window level a bit just… The only real concern of the stay is the radiator! But how can you still have such noisy radiators in a hotel like this!

I had a great time: clean room, friendly and friendly staff, hot drinks for free, and believe me it makes a difference in the winter in New York. The location is convenient as it is close to two metro lines and centrally located a stone's throw from the Empire State building. Connsigliatissimo.

Spent six nights there in December. Rooms are tired, street noise can be an issue if you are a light sleeper. Lobby is nicely renovated. I didn't have a chance to try the $18 breakfast — — there are too many other good dining options nearby to bother.

Dated rooms with minimal sound isolation between the wall make for a mediocre experience. Front desk staff are friendly and helpful. Found out after a few hours of terrible sleep that I was in a room with an adjustable mattress. Would've been nice to know when I checked in.

Loud, but it's nyc so what do you expect. Bring earplugs. Otherwise, room was clean, housekeeping was good, no surprises. One area for improvement is the bar hours. They are closed on Saturday and Sunday. Would be nice to be open and be able to have a drink without leaving the hotel.

Mohammad was great… way before my arrival. I had a package delivered about 3 weeks earlier and upon my arrival, as soon as he heard my name, And he remembered it… He stepped away to retrieve My package and delivered it to me… Awesome service.

Comfortable boutique hotel in a central area, in Calle de las Flores. With Metro, restaurants and supermarkets almost at the door. It should have better soundproofing on the windows.

Great hotel for tourism! This hotel is pretty well located, in the middle of Manhattan Island. The rooms are fully equipped with a minifridge, a TV, a microwave, and a coffee machine. I thought the beds were comfortable, but I'm not too picky. There are little dials on the corners of the beds to adjust the firmness, which was new to me.

Really good location if you're going be in lower Manhattan. Close to nightlife, Chelsea Piers, midtown. The hotel itself is located in a street with a ton of florists as well so it's very pretty. The rooms are outdated though. Everything looks very 90s and our AC struggled to cool the room. I tried to find ice and water in the middle of the night and had to go upstairs to find a nonexistent vending machine and a broken ice machine. Good hotel for a quick stay especially at the price but don't expect anything too fancy.

I stay here often on trips to New York. The rooms are incredibly clean and spacious, and the reception staff is courteous. My only complaint is that the windows seem to do nothing to block out the city noise, and even on the eleventh floor (there are twenty or so floors in total), the horns from the street below are audible at both late and early hours.

5*s! Originally 4, but edited because they dealt with a parking issue for me with such graceful customer service! — I was in n NYC for work. Great location for the office, nice staff, clean room. Only complaint was the lumpy bed.

Everything is nice and clean. Staff is polite. The room is a little on the small side, but this is my first time in NYC so it could be normal for the area. The water pressure could be better in my opinion and the rooms could be sound proofed better, but even with those two minimal complaints I would stay again.

It was my girlfriend's birthday and the asst manager was fantastic in helping make her arrival special. The room was great, check out is at noon, and is well-located for a lot of fun things. Also, the room fridge is the perfect size to keep all your Polar Seasonals nice and frosty while you're out enjoying The Big Apple ™.

We loved the location and hotel itself but not happy with regard to payment and how this was handled. I was asked to provide card details for guarantee only (which I did when making our booking). I had planned to pay in local currently upon arrival, only to find that you had already charged my credit card.
I have been waiting for this charge to go through, and show as confirmed rather than pending so I can pay it off, this was for £990.
I have just checked my card today and see that we have been charged £1034.13 — can you please explain why we have been charged an additional £44.13?
We did not spend anything in the hotel, or room service etc and expect this additional amount to be refunded. Really not pleased with the service here. Can you please clarify?

A pretty good hotel. The breakfast buffet was tasty and a good value. Disappointing lack of basic toiletries and desk staff refused to run out to pick up. They said they didn't have anyone to do so, but plenty of people were standing around front desk when I checked out. Wouldn't make any adjustment to the room for the hassle. Not a problem I've had at any cheap motel so not something I would expect at a mid-range Manhattan hotel.

Very nice clean hotel. 3 blocks from Penn Station. Breakfast was a little expensive, but all and all a nice place to stay.

The employees are very friendly always with a smile and the best wave to make yourself understood in the language you speak and especially willing to solucionarte your problems or concerns about the city and its attractions.
It has Wi fi free of charge for up to three devices simultaneously per room.
Has with Gym open the 24 hours and a bar with drinks and some meals.
Although the rooms are not very big they can't be comfortable. They feature a wide led, alarm clock, microwave TV (lobby sell affordable undercooled food to buy and cook in the microwave, minibar, air conditioning, coffee maker of (no filter coffee) coffee capsules)
In short, um good place that has everything you need for a stay in New York. Both both by business and family where the city offers so much to make that you one makes less is to be inside the hotel.

Right in the flower and plant distinct in mid-town, with a fair bit of construction going on, around. Is this typical? Up on the 24th floor, I get to see Spider-Man pass by, occasionally. And there really ARE water towers atop many of the buildings, here. Marvel's got that detail right, for sure. The water pressure surges in a cyclical fashion, but it remains high enough for comfortable showers. Breakfast buffet is typical, which means not so much for you Vegans, out there. Service is friendly and professional. They responded pretty much immediately to the one problem reported with the room. Affordable rates and convenient location to subway. I'd definitely stay here, again.

Conveinent location with comfortable good sized rooms. $17 breakfast 5 dollar bottles of water massively overpriced. This place exudes a unwelcoming overpriced feeling, staff can't hide disdain for middle class guests.

A lovely hotel located in a fantastic location. Only a block away from the 1 train and two blocks from Broadway with access to the NQR trains. The rooms are clean, some of the sheets show their use but it's not bad. If you can get a room on the top floors facing North you'll be in for a treat.

Surprisingly good service and generous sized rooms for a NYC hotel. I'm a major fan, and I'd stay there again.

Spent 8 nights here in Room 508 (5th floor) with my wife and son November 2015. Its in a great location with a subway about 100 metres away on 7th Ave. Its not too far to walk uptown to Macys/Times Square/Theatre district etc. Theres a great Bagel shop on 7th too which is worth checkin out. (Koffee Cake Corner W26th and 6th) Hotel itself is fairly modern with good facilities (TV, Mini Fridge, Microwave, free Wi-Fi) Rooms are very quiet. My only complaint is the slamming of doors by other guests. They really need to put some door closer thingys on to stop them slammin shut.

Lovely place, very clean and tidy. Polite friendly staff. We had breakfast once during our 4 night stay (food was not included with our room) which was nice with a lovely wide variety. The area was central for everything you need, we even walked the 30+blocks back from Central Park one night. Long walk but it's the city that never sleeps! I think the only slight thing (which is why I didn't tick 5 stars) is it seems very 'businessy' so if you're looking for a romantic boutique type hotel this may not be for you. That said we found it more than adequate for our stay. Our room was on the very top floor (24th) and the views were amazing not to mention lying in our huge comfy bed listening to the sounds of the city below. We would certainly stay again if we are ever so lucky as to visit The Big Apple again!

Having stayed in a few hotels in Chelsea, this location was definitely the best value for the rate. The staff were extremely friendly and attentive. The room was extremely clean and updated. The bed was nice and comfy and room itself was nice and spacious (considering the fact that it's in Chelsea and a lower-cost room). I'd recommend this to anyone wanting to feel safe and attended to while visiting New York.

We had a great weekend here. Friendly staff, very clean! Fresh furnishings. A great value for middle of Manhattan. We will be back.

I had a great stay at this hotel. We were able to have an early check-in. Our room was clean, up to date and comfortable. All of the staff were exceptional, genuine, friendly and helpful. We interacted with several members at the front desk all of whom were equally nice as were the two concierges, cleaning staff and all others who's paths we crossed. A really pleasant environment that seems to be very well run. There is a restaurant adjoining the hotel that we stopped in mid evening. Unfortunately, no one came to wait on us. No sure of the relationship between the two entities, but would definitely stay at the hotel again.

Bed bugs and dishonesty. I had a terrible experience with this hotel. I took a nap shortly after I checked in and when I woke up, I had several fresh bug bites. I immediately went to the front desk and showed them my bites. They dismissed them as mosquito bites and gave me anti itch cream. I told them I was not comfortable sleeping in that room and asked for another room. They stated that they were completely booked and I did not have any other options and that if I wanted to move the following day, I could. I was traveling for work and throughout the day, my bites turned into welts and lesions. I could not leave work so I called the hotel and requested a new room. They said they could not move my luggage so they would not offer me a new room. I asked them to hold the new room and I would move my own luggage later that evening. The manager would not allow this, because they were going to move some one else into my room and my luggage couldn't be there! They were going to move another guest into that same room! He said that he was in the room and did not see any bugs so I was fine to stay there another night. I had the opportunity to leave work a bit early so I called the hotel to say I wanted the new room and I could be there to move my own luggage. They told me the room was no longer available. I asked if they would refund me if I found a different hotel in the city and they said they would not because I paid through expedia.

This hotel is in a nice location but I really disliked the customer service. My overall experience was a uncomfortable. The customer service checking in was not satisfactory. The staff wasn't pleasant they seemed as if they was unhappy with their positions. I asked about events in the area and they was clueless they didn't even try to find the information. I thought they was there to serve there guest but apparently I was wrong. There was no ice machines on the floors and we had to keep calling room service for the ice and they brought tiny ice buckets and one of the ice buckets had particles in it. I informed them about the service as I was checking out and the front desk just said sorry and offered a continental breakfast which I declined. However the manager of the hotel was standing there and she just gave me a dirty look and never addressed the problem. I think that is poor service. I wont be staying here again due to the service. The only good thing was the hotel was clean. I would suggest the hotel to retrain their staff to prevent this in the future with another guest. I also informed them I would be writing a review about my stay and she just shrugged her shoulders.

Best hotel I have stayed at in Manhattan over the years. Convenient location, great rooms and more importantly the service is outstanding. There are doorman to help with whatever you need, and the front desk staff is friendly and helpful, even under pressure. As busy as this hotel is, you would never know it with the customer service that you receive.

Two times was good and not too expensive, and both times it was awesome. Metro just around the corner.
