Well, it’s clean, centrally located for my trip, however a few more feet of space would be cool. Although I would still stay here again.

I selected this inn based on reviews from a travel site, so disappointed! After traveling 6 hours, we stopped by to drop off luggage, we’ve never been treated so rudely by hotel staff. I was shaking when we left by the hostility showed to us. All the staff showed no care for us, we were an inconvenience to them. They only looked up from the computer when we greeted them. The carpet was dirty, white towels stained and a cockroach in the shower. The bath supplies such as shampoo etc were not restocked. I’ve never written a negative review before but our experience here was so disappointing I felt the need to share so others can make an educated choice in lodging.

It was my second stay at Chelsea Pines Inn after being here in January 2018. The following review is based on my recent stay, which really disappointed me. First of all: the location is great, very close to the metro and several restaurants as well as a CVS store round the corner. So what was wrong? … After doing the booking I contacted the hotel several (! ) times by e-mail to inform them, that a UPS parcel (7 bottles of expensive wine) will be delivered to Chelsea Pines for the attention of me. I kindly asked for a confirmation that this is OK. I have nver gotten a reply to my e-mails. Thus I called the hotel on the day the parcel was delivered and explained the lady clearly, that it contains very precious wines and asked her to store parcel in the COOLEST place inside the hotel (not outside, of course), for abvious reasons. The lady did not really seem interested but kinda confirmed my query in the end. However, she did not tell me why my e-mails remained unanswered. When I arrived at Chelsea Pines Inn, the parcel was there. But now the big shock: it was in a kind of closet-room where the room-temperature was like 30 degrees Celsius. T was the HOTTEST place far and wide! I got so concerned when checking on the bottles that were all really HOT, not just warm as they might get when being stored in a regular room at 20-25 degrees.

I recommend the breakfast there. It is very good. The only thing they didn’t have was the low-fat milk. The yogurt was warm but otherwise very good and they did put it in ice after I told them they need to do that. The room was very good, though you have to walk up four flights of stairs. It’s a nice place to be at if you can get the 1st or 2nd floor anything above the 3rd is a challenge let’s put it that way. Overall stay was very good and I would highly recommend staying here again I would.

Nice place. My room was spacious and quiet. Location is spot on right next to the metro and lots of nice places in a walking distance.

That's great. Rooms put to the detail and very clean. Also, very good and varied breakfast (and being able to have breakfast on the closed terrace is a marvel). But definitely the best thing about it is its location. Next to a metro mouth and in an area with many bars and cultural offer. I would definitely repeat. Highly recommended.

Downtown Chelsea location was awesome. Super close to Chelsea Market and the Highline. It was easy to come and go via subway. The room was perfect for the weekend and included a private bathroom. The staff were fantastic and super helpful. Breakfast was included but we didn't take advantage of it during our stay.

Great location in Chelsea, minutes from Chelsea Market and the Highline and super close to the subway. The room was awesome for our quick weekend trip in the city. We had a room on the third floor with a queen bed and compact and efficient bathroom. The staff were great and super helpful. They also offered a bag check so on the morning that we were leaving we didn't have to take our luggage with us when we did some final sight seeing.

Some minor issues and was resolved is the most spectacular way!

Great location, friendly accomadating staff. Started raining, they loaned us umbrellas, they loaned me a hair dryer. Great breakfast. If you're on the street side use your white noise machine or or phone. Reasonably priced. Not a fancy cookie cutter with all rooms alike but quaint inn. We loved it. We had a deluxe queen room.

Excellent location for Google, Chelsea. My room is quiet and has an effective and silent air conditioner, but is a bit small and no view. The bed is comfortable but a bit squished down on the edge from being sat on? A small garden area in the back is a welcome place to sit. Everything is clean and we'll maintained. Great value, good sleep, I will stay here again.

We loved our stay! It's steps to 14th St station and Chelsea market. We somehow got a free upgrade to a crazy nice suite! The breakfast was yummy and you can have tea or coffee anytime during the day.

Price was great and location! Rooms were themed! Stayed in the Ann Margaret room! Includes breakfast’ very efficient room laid out well! Only drawback no elevator!

Rooms are clean, but on the small side. Staff is very nice and accommodating. No elevator, so if you're on a higher floor it can be a workout getting up and down. Very close to subways so easy to get anywhere you want! Would recommend and definitely would come back.

Great location! The best is to have tea and coffee facilities downstairs. And small details such as daily suggestions, chocolate at reception. This is our second stay, first time we got a spacious room and it was cleanish. Very friendly staff. But second time we got such I tiny room, no wardrobe space. My husband s shoulders do not fit in front of bathroom mirror, so narrow… We had to keep everything inside our suitcases and take turns to open them, too small for two adults. Floors, carpets and staircase need cleaning.

Booked last minute on 12/18 for two nights before NYE because it was the only thing left under $200, but found an awesome Airbnb instead so canceled less than 24 hours later on 12/19. It’s now a month later, and they STILL have not refunded me. Shady operation…

Loved the decor, the location, and the staff. Would absolutely stay in this charming Inn again. Feels like I walked right into classic Hollywood in this convenient Chelsea location. The complimentary food and drinks is very much a plus in the City.

A charming hotel with a great location. The only downsides is the shower was out in the open so not as much privacy. The lighting in the room could better, it was very bright when sitting in the bed. Wish the fridge wasn't below inside the closet. Overall very friendly staff and wonderful experience, would stay again and highly recommend.

This was place was such a great discovery! My single room was not even super small, but just right for one person, and very much perfectly formed. It was clean, beautifully/recently decorated and comfortable. The Hollywood theming was a great bonus — loved the vintage film posters in my room and throughout the space. Staff were excellent and happy to fill all requests. Most of all, I could not believe how reasonably priced this place was considering I was staying on a Friday night one week before Christmas, and only booked a couple of days earlier. Highly recommend and would definitely rebook next time I am in NYC.

This was a delightful B&B on the border between Chelsey and the Meat Packing district. I loved the movie poster charm, including the 70s era advertisements for Blackglama (mink coats) featuring divas of the era. It's all stairs, so look at the room types for how much exercise you'll be getting; it'll say what floors it's on; I found the 4th floor quite accessible, even with repeated trips back to the room. There's a small glass-enclosed dining area for breakfast to enjoy a little NY sky before heading out into your day. Would book again.

I really love this place. I've stayed here twice over the past four weeks and would definitely come back again. The location is great. The pricing is reasonable. The rooms are small but very clean and very comfortable. They have a nice little kitchen lounge on the main floor with great coffee and homemade ice tea. The staff is very friendly and helpful. As a Long Islander, sometimes it's just more convenient to stay over night than take the train home. This has become my go to spot. The setting is very intimate. It feels like going home at the end of the night. I highly recommend this hotel for anyone traveling to New York or for locals just looking for a place to crash for the night. If you're looking for small, homey, friendly, quite, relaxing, personal, clean and convenience, the Chelsea Pines Inn is the spot for you!

Staff was very friendly. Hotel was clean, conveniently located, and we loved the atmosphere. Overall, we were very pleased with everything. The only drawback that I could find was because of the age of the building, the AC didn't quite keep up. We would absolutely stay here again, and would recommend it to others as well.

Amazing, what a super place. So central to Chelsea. This is my new favourite place to stay in New York.

This is a very fun hotel. All the rooms are movie star themed as in each room is decorated with the movie posters of a different star. The rooms are very clean and cozy. The little dining area in the lobby is awesome and always has great snacks and beverages out. There's also a self serve cappuccino machine that makes great espresso. The staff put our luggage in the room while we explored Manhattan. So many things to like about this little hotel. The only thing that could be considered bad is that the hotel has no elevator and has five floors. Therefore it's a bit of a small workout if your room is on the fifth floor and you or constantly going back and forth to the desk, dinning area, and out to the city. Who are we kidding though, you should not be in your room, you should be out exploring the city.

It's hard not to like this place, with the vintage film posters covering all the walls, the friendly welcome from staff, and the convenient central location. The room at the back of the hotel was very quiet and the bed was comfortable, so I slept well. The selection for breakfast was pretty good. There is a subway stop two seconds away so it's really easy to get from here to wherever you want in New York. The only downsides were the aircon being quite loud — I had to make a choice whether I wanted to be hot at night or put up with the noise — and there is no lift, so be prepared for a lot of stairs. Which can be tiring after a long day of walking around Manhattan!

The hotel is close to Chelsea Piers. It's clean and quiet, decorated with old movie posters. The whole setting looks very romantic. The back yard is lovely. Staffs are warm and kind. Great place for short visit in NYC.

Situated on West 14th St, The Chelsea Pines Inn has pleasant friendly atmosphere. Comfortable rooms dotted with old film memorabilia. Superb place to stay.

The rooms here are very different, so different people live different kinds of room would see different views. Of course I am not talking about you see the view from the window. Staff here to help others, the perfect location of the hotel, is located in Chelsea, the West town and the Meatpacking District. A, c, e subway lines in the corner near the hotel, you can easily take the Metro to the city center and Central Park to the North. Stayed here for business and had a great experience. Friendly 24 hour front desk, and a comfortable bed. Room was modest size, but so was the price. Great location, half block from Chelsea market.

As a veteran Flight Attendant, I am all too familiar with hotels and what customer service can and should look like. Chelsea Pines Inn did everything right! What a wonderful weekend we had! The staff was so incredibly helpful and kind! The entire building, our room and breakfast area were immaculate and the kitchen was always open (with delicious food) making us feel like we were home. The subway is 1/4 of a block away which made it so easy to get around. Our room was perfectly quiet and comfortable. I have found my New York home away from home! If you are longing to escape the impersonal hotel chain experience, Chelsea Pines Inn will make you feel like you now have family in the city that will always be happy to host you! Thank you.

What a great staff Jay has at the Inn. We were made to feel like we lived there for three days. So helpful and a great location. Breakfast is amazing. We will be going back because it felt like we were really appreciated for our business! You cant do better.

This is a delightful place in a great neighborhood. The staff is as friendly as I've ever encountered in a hotel, helpful and thoughtful but not intrusive or fawning. We mentioned when we checked in that it was our anniversary. When we returned from dinner, there was a card and a box of chocolates from a local gourmet chocolate shop (Li-Lac Chocolates) on our pillow (thanks Rumel! ). The breakfast spread is very nice and the outdoor patio is beautiful. The room was comfortable and clean, decorated with fun movie posters (Sophia Loren was in an awful lot of bad movies), and surprisingly quiet — no street noise. Highly recommended.

Rarely is something as good as the reviews would indicate. This is. Great location, just 100 feet from the subway, and close to the Chelsea Market, High Line and great restaurants and nightlife. Friendly helpful staff, high-functioning rooms (quiet at all times, great mattress, well-working AC and ventilation, clean, newish showers and bath). Beautiful garden patio to eat an excellent continental breakfast at. Yes, steps are steep, and my room on 5th floor was a hike. Also my room was small, as in the European tradition. But all was good for me.
