Gansevoort is our new go to with each NYC visit. The rooms are modern, beautiful and spacious… and the suites with patios beyond all expectations. We walk to all of our favorite restaurants and bars with its excellent location with proximity to the West Village and Greenwich! Staff are professional and unassuming. Roof top bar is stunning with the most delicious drinks. Cannot wait to go back! Xo.

It’s alive. You feel like you’re in New York. The rooms are spacious very comfortable. Makes you feel like you’re in a luxury apartment. Roof is great place to gather with friends have dinner or just drinks.

Good service and the waitress is very niceand took good care of us.

I think thru the many challenges of current times the experience for my family was great. If you expect perfection being adventurous maybe best to stay home. What stood out was each individual employee was consistently helpful, positive, and creative in any way to help you.

Place is nice don’t get me wrong, price to stay is a big ridiculous. At 600 a night. But over all very clean and welcoming place.

This place is under new management and is being run by inexperienced children. I have been a long time patron and guest of this hotel and roof top and I am disappointed to say the least.

I had a Great experience staying at this hotel.

My wife and I stayed at the hotel last weekend and it was the best staycation we could have asked for! They made the most of the pandemic shutdown with a complete overhaul. The elevators and hallways seemed brand new and brightly lit. The room felt new and fresh. The floor was a gray wood grain material inspired by the cobblestones of the nearby streets. It had a soft feel that added to the comfortable and relaxed vibe. The decor felt modern with vintage design accents. We loved the rolling barn doors for the closet and the fully renovated, white tile bathroom.
A sitting area was cozy with a brown leather chair and a black marble table. The couch was set into a recessed window space which lets guests feel like they are suspended in air and offer a panoramic view of the rooftops and the neighborhood below. The artwork features photography that highlights the transformation of the area over the past 20-25 years. The hotel itself, centrally located has seemed like a cornerstone of that revitalization.
Many tech upgrades include a new touch panel to control room temperature and request housekeeping or signal not to be disturbed. A virtual fitness mirror allows guests to access exercise routines and use the room as a personal fitness studio. The exercise mat and T. V. Remote were wrapped in a paper band to ensure that they were sanitized and clean.
Our room faced West and offered gorgeous views of the Hudson River.

My husband and I stayed at the hotel after it was recently renovated. We were very impressed by the new updated look and amenities! The furniture was sleek and comfortable. The bed was a perfect combination of comfy and firm! The bathroom was spacious and bright. It had both a hairdryer and hair iron which both worked great! The hotel also has a new mirror workout feature. Although I did not use it, I can only imagine someone who works out daily would appreciate it!
The Hotel has a pool on the roof which is exclusive to hotel guests. In order to go up to the pool you needed to reserve a time to do so with the staff at the front desk which was offered upon our arrival.
One of my favorite things about this Hotel is it’s location! The Whitney Museum and the Highline were both one block away from the Hotel. The view of the Hudson River from our hotel room was beautiful.
This hotel has been a great escape for my husband and i. We always enjoy our stay and look forward to it every year.

From Sonya, who has the most helpful, beautiful energy, and smile that makes the busyness of the city slow down, Melvin who was super funny and very helpful. The hotel was very nice sadly the Roof top staff not so welcoming and well bluntly put RUDE. (Heads up BOYB just for that reason alone! ) The views were to die for, no joke day or night breath taking. A huge thank you to the wonderful men who closed out our stay, Malick and Manager Paul. Malick, keep up the great work, your smile was nice to see that early in the morning. Paul, thank you for letting me know I have a direct point of contact for all our future visits.

Easy to come this rooftop the view is amazing and very comfortable a little expensive the drinks but it wort if you want be Happy.

Service was amazing from the moment we arrived, Mike the bartender was exceptional, made the best cosmopolitan I think I have ever had, Mike the concierge was extremely available. The rooftop staff assigned us our very own escort! They treated us like we owned the place, that’s amazing customer service we will definitely be back!

My wife & I enjoyed our visit to the Rooftop at Gansevoort. The view of the city was awesome! We had a drink or 2 and ate some appetizers (Steak Flatbread, Sweet Potato Fries & Chicken on a Stick). The food was good! The service was only ok. The server rarely checked on us. Otherwise, we had an enjoyable experience!

The rooms are nice and the staff are friendly. However, the room was not as clean as it should be. There was a bunch of hairs attached to a light, and one of the mirrors looks like it hasn't been cleaned in months. Also, the pillows easily went flat and the bed was way too firm. That being said, great location.

Upgraded to a corner suite — the room was clean and amenities were quite new. Nicely situated in the meatpacking / Chelsea market area. Liked all the interactions with front line staff.

The bar smelled like a dirty bar. NYC Dept of Health grade of B was hidden behind a hostess table. Good drinks, pool table, outdoor seating, upscale atmosphere. You can do better.

To be a 4 star I would give you just enough. Pretty clean, bathroom with only shower. Breakfast at the good bar: cereals, yogurt and fruit; potatoes, eggs and bacon; pancakes.
The hotel staff does not speak Italian. I went there for work but if I were to return to New York I will definitely look for another hotel.

Pros: very Nice hotel, clean, good size rooms, in a trendy neighborhood. Friendly and lots of staff, quick Check in. Cons: the pool is too small and not enough sitting space. The concierge was supposed to make à réservation at a restaurant for us, no réservation when we arrived. The hotel is currently in an area with LOTS if road Work. Traffic and impatient drivers honking day and night non stop. Had a room in front if the catch. Felt like beeing there in the party at 2 Am. We would go back, but would request a room on Higher levels, on the back. And we would wait til the road work is done.

This review is about the hotel itself, not the nightclub. I stayed in a queen sized room and it was very nice. Modern fixtures and styling without being over the top. I've stayed here a few times and rooms are always clean. Bathroom is highly functional unlike other trendy hotels who try too hard and end up w showers w no doors that get the entire bathroom wet.

Good location for my trip with incredible staff. Don't be put off by the construction as the hotel is in great shape. Trendy hotel but still comfortable and has amazing shower pressure. Another great benefit was the wonderful toiletries by L'Occitane.

I love this place, one of my favorite places to go to, when I go to the Meatpacking District. The drinks are pricey but then again what establishment in New York isn't. It has a rooftop deck, which is where they have their events and the views are amazing. The rooms are also really nice, and they're pretty reasonably priced for Manhattan hotel. I would highly recommend anybody touring New York stay here because you'll have a great time.

Amazing experience and excellent customer service… specifically by Lauren at the front desk. I was spending the night with my sisters… it was a late birthday celebration. On getting there we found out that the rooms reserved for us was very far apart. She were not pleased with this… but she fixed it on the spot. Getting us in a different room than what we wanted… but close and complimentary drinks. That was the start of an amazing night in NY. Also, we didnt know this before booking but there is a club at the rooftop. This made life easy for us as we didnt have to drive anywhere. No, u cant hear the music in the rooms. We had an amazing time and it was the perfect location. Thanks Gansevoort and thanks Lauren.

A bad note from the rooftop work. Very noisy and visible. Not even an advantageous price despite the gene. Maybe to try it in a few weeks.

I love this place what am I go to places when I go to the Meatpacking District the drinks are pricey but then again what establishment in New York isn't it has a rooftop deck, which is where they have their vents and the views are amazing. The rooms are also really nice, and they're pretty reasonably priced for Manhattan hotel. I would highly recommend anybody touring New York stay here because you'll have a great time.

Want to find an eclectic, great location, upscale service hotel? In New York you find it! Have everything to relax after a day of work or sightseeing! Good option is to hanging out on the Lobby Bar and play a few rounds on the pool table while drinking beer or cocktails this time I got a room with a river view, that was awesome! Didn't want to close the curtains to avoid loosing that view! If want to get an hotel souvenir, don't miss the opportunity to buy the hotel bathrobes, just using it drives you to another dimension.

Cool hotel, but wasn't impressed with the customer service. After informing them multiple times about overheating room and not able to control the temperature, we were told to open the window. Rooms are cozy and the bathroom vanity has very limited space. At the time of my visit parts of the rooftop bar Plunge was under construction.

Check in process was easy and the people at the front desk were friendly. I had the double bed room and everything was clean and nicely appointed. They provide very nice toiletries. The location of the hotel is great with a short walk to Chelsea Market but the surrounding streets were under construction so it was a bit difficult to get around.

Worst experience! We have booked 5 rooms, already no indication of the fact that the roof top is under construction and that the whole street is under construction. No hot water! Hot mini bar.
The staff were very friendly and the room was very clean and the breakfast was very nice. We were intercepted in the elevator in front of other guests as if we were thugs. I travel immensely and I never have such a deplorable service and all this in a 4 star.

Fantastic experience overall! The lobby bar was extremely happening for a weeknight, but the room was dead quiet, not to mention surprisingly spacious for a NYC hotel. A great night's sleep in a great location in the city.

Loved it! Much better than the nearby Dream Downtown at a similar price tier. Showers with temperature control, bath amenities from L'occitaine, comfortable bed and nice service. Espresso machine in room (capsules cost $2). Good vibe in the lobby, although small lobby.

I'm in Chelsea / Meatpacking frequently, and I've pretty much always stayed at The Standard. This time The Standard was full, so I ended up at the Gansevoort, and I'll be coming back. The rooms are great, the place is stylish in a very intentional, very engineered Gatsby sort of way. If you're looking for hip, it's pretty good, though The Standard comes off less forced. The staff were all great, especially Lauren at reception. The one thing that this place has over The Standard in spades is the actual utility of the bathrooms. The Gansevoort has, like, normal bathrooms. It's awesome. I don't need hipness when I'm trying to get ready in the morning. One star withheld because the restaurant and beer garden are good, but nothing especially notable. I wouldn't go out of my way to frequent them. Unlike The Standard Grill, which is a pretty great venue, regardless of the fact that it's in a hotel. Still. Next trip to NYC I think I'll be staying at the Gansevoort. It's cool, it's comfortable, and in my experience the staff were great.

Good hotel — small but convenient and quiet rooms. Fast check-in and check-out. I just wish they didn't charge for in-room coffee and water — this should be standard free items. It's still my preferred choice for business travel due to proximity to office.

Very good hotel near the High Line and the Chelsea Market, with large rooms and very spacious bathrooms. It has a rooftop pool and a cup club which is very popular. That yes, like many hotels, the management of the lights is a nightmare, because there is not a single command that turns them all off. The staff is very attentive, the food service to the room works very well. The only downside, a bit, is that the whole area takes a lot of time with works, although it's not the hotel's fault, of course.

Very nice staff. Convenient location with quite a lot of restaurants nearby. Nice PH level including pool and bar with very nice views. Rooms well decorated although not ultra modern. Regular room with good size and wide and tall window overseeing the city. Comfortable bed. Complimentary water. Good experience.

Special mention for Lauren of the reception (for her friendliness) and for Paul in the services and reception before arrival, never seen such a clear availability.
If you decide to go to New York, think seriously about this new facility on the 9th.

We hosted a several hundred person rooftop event here with awesome views and enough room to mingle, especially on the balcony. However, way understaffed with only 2 bartenders for such a big crowd arriving at a set time.

Nice hotel and friendly staff. Disappointed in the breakfast accommodations, it was freezing in the breakfast area, 25 degrees outside and probably 40 inside. On my third morning I decided to call in room dining but was never able to reach anyone. I called the front desk and was told it was a change of guard (? ) but they would transfer me. Nope, still no answer. You would think for what they charge for in room dining that you'd get someone to talk with. But it is a nice hotel. Just wear winter attire while eating breakfast.

The restaurant was delicious, very hygienic and nice.

The hotel itself was nothing to write home about. A few bars, restaurants, and an over all modern feel … But the rooms and hotel itself could benefit from some updates. For NYC the standard rooms were spacious. But for the price … There are many other hotel options that are better. The location is great and there's easy access to the Subway. Tons of hotel/bar options right around the hotel, as well.

Nice hotel, good location. Staff was very friendly. Only thing I wasn't a fan of was the stuff for sale all around the room, and I wasn't sure what was free. There were two bottles of water beside the bed with prices on them, so that's clear. There were some energy drinks beside those without prices, so I assume those are free. There were two smaller bottles of water on the bureau, also no prices, so maybe also free. However, there were process for the energy drinks and smaller waters on the mini bar menu, so maybe not free. Nice stay otherwise.

I had to purchase a bottle to enter which cost a pretty penny, because I had 6 guest with me. I don't know if you need reservations to enter. Regardless, The venue was nice and the security treated us like VIP.

Location of this hotel will give it 5 star on its own. And pool area is FANTASTIC. The view ia great and the service received was very very good.

The location is perfect — although to be honest avoid the place during Fashion Week if going for work. It's located nearby all event after-hour parties. Even the hotel holds its own party. Additionally for price, room feels a little on the cheap-side, as it could possible be a more comfortable bed.

Would have enjoyed the rooftop bar more if it wasn't for the security guard at the elevator in the lobby doing ID checks choosing to insult me tonight. I got my wallet out as I walked in. Unfortunately had one of those situations where my ID was hidden amongst my cards and I started to panic because I'm traveling and can't afford to lose my ID. This man chose to get impatient with me, despite me standing aside to let others come through. I found my ID within seconds and as I approach him to show, he said in the rudest manner, 'Don't do that again! ' That was extremely uncalled for as I didn't choose to have my ID getting lost in my wallet. The last thing I needed on my last night in NYC was to be belittled like that. If your staff can't have a few seconds of patience, they shouldn't work with the public. The staff at the bar were at least more welcoming and helpful. The hostess was lovely.

Very nice hotel! Nice rooms! Super well placed next to the Chelsea Market, which is perfect for breakfast! 4 stars instead of 5 because the queen size bed is not a 160 but a 140…

That whole area in the summer is great. Outdoor restaurants, rooftop bars and pools, definitely a place for friends to have a great time. Be prepared to pay your posh city prices for food and drinks. Remember you're paying for scenery, location and ambiance so don't be turned off when you see $19 drinks prices. The Plunge roof top view and ambiance was amazing. I could have stayed there all day. My next trip to ny I'm staying there!

I thought it was me! I was there this weekend have not been in a few years. The place has gone totally down hill. Dirty, rude staff the whole vibe was off. I would never go back! Btw I have never written a review in my life.

A mixed stay
Our arrival at the hotel was bluffing. An impressive queue made up of a motley fauna with a quirky appearance. All were waiting to climb to the top of our hotel at this famous rooftop.
At the desk the reception was cold. I am asked for the credit card used for the reservation. Standard. What was less is the surety that this person has taken in order to ensure the possible damage. Nearly 2000, 000. And she wanted to pick up even more. Never seen. But I did close to 15 hotels in the United States. In short to say that the entry in matter was a little chilling…
Suite of pleasant stay in a spacious room with a tiny balcony with a beautiful view of the district of Meatpacking. The bathroom was very luxurious. A very clean room and a comfortable bedding.
The rooftop of the hotel is very popular. However, your identity card and credit card are confiscated as long as you consume on-site. The pool is tiny.
The bar at the entrance to the hotel is nice but the service does not follow.
At the start of the hotel I expected that I would be given my deposit back. Well no, they still picked up the amount of the room on my credit card. I had to wait almost three weeks to get a refund. Several calls with the managers of my credit card, email to the hotel. In short this is the first time this has happened to me in the United States.

Great cocktails and music with DJs to dance inside, while outside classic outdoor sofas to enjoy the view.

I've never been a guest of the hotel but I've been to the rooftop in many occasions. Everytime I go I'm treated worse at the door. Once inside everything is overrated. A glass of wine will cost you more than the entire bottle (the same that you would find in a convenience store). There are better places, better views, better drinks, and better professionalism in many places not too far from there. Never again.

Great service — very accommodating staff. I was able to check in early and add someone to the room at the last minute at no additional cost. This hotel is well located. The rooms are small but very nicely outfitted. Good bathroom with all of the things you need. Small but state of the art gym. Great lobby. Highly recommended recommend this hotel.

Fantástico hotel en el corazón del distrito Meatpacking de Nueva York. Tiene bar, terraza y piscina en la azotea, el servicio de habitaciones es caro pero bueno, y las habitaciones tienen un tamaño considerable con un gran baño y una red Wifi que funciona sin ningún problema. This place is over rated and unprofessional and RACIST. Me and a group of my black girlfriends were having drinks and food there on the rooftop and a caurcasaion man who worked there with a ponytail asked us to leave once we paid our bill, when he saw we were being attacked by 2 guys who were being very disrespectful to us and obsessive not wanting to leave us alone he made us women leave instead of the 2 guys following us and cursing us out, I guess if you ain't white you ain't right. Instead of making sure we as women were safe okay and have those losers leave he asked us to leave, after we spent money there, the black bouncers even saw how we were being attacked but this caurcasaion man with ponytail had something against us and asked us to leave, unprofessional, poor service, racist, over rated. They need a upgrade with services and who they choose to work there. Very sloppy place.

Location is great, really close to Chelsea. The rooms were very nice and they upgraded me at no charge to a larger room. Great water pressure in the showers. Bluetooth boombox. Very friendly staff. The only complaint I have is that the sheets were a bit on the rough side.

Another great hotel in the meat packing district. Stayed there once and would highly recommend it. Rooms are excellent and spacious given its New York City.

Amazing view. Amazing food and drinks. The price was a little steep (but what do you expect) and the service was slow, they had one girl waiting the whole restaurant! But overall awesome place to chill on a nice evening with friends.

Gansevoort Meatpacking NYC Hotel is a classy hotel, but is nothing too fancy. Service is great, breakfast is also good, and the rooms are kept nice and clean. In a safe part of town, not too far away from the ferry building and some other cool sites to visit. Our stay was pleasurable and we would come back.

This hotel is conveniently located in Chelsea. Typical of the hotels around there, it's hip it's cool but sometimes impractical. If you are a light sleeper don't stay here as there are several clubs around (and construction), so the noise can be problematic. Amenities are nice including the rooftop pool and gym, and soap, shampoo from Loccitane.

The hefeweizen is great but the bar wasn't stocked enough for their cocktails which was a little disappointing. Their food and portions are really good along with excellent service.

My stay at the gansevoort was amazing. The rooms were were very nice. The staff was friendly and accomodating. The location. Was convenient as there were many restaurants and shops nearby. Anytime we needed anything the staff there were very prompt. I would stay there again.

The rooftop pool bar is great! Lots of space to mingle with friends, beautiful views, great music and beautiful people. If you haven't been but you like to visit lounges, you gotta go. You never know who you might run into.

This is about the rooftop bar specifically, as I have not stayed in the hotel itself. The bar offers great views, good drinks, and a fun setting to take anyone for an evening cocktail. Turns into a great dance scene late night with good DJs in rotation (top 40, edm, pop) so if you can make it in, it's worth it.

Popped by the rooftop bar for a drink — elderflower & gin cocktail was nice but the main attraction was the view! Worth visiting just to see the skyline beyond the water.

I enjoyed staying at the Gansevoort Meatpacking — the location is amazing, the rooms are luxurious, and the overall feel is young, and maybe trying just a little too hard. The entire service staff, from the concierge and front desk, to doormen, elevator operators, etc. Were accommodating and polite which definitely helped me enjoy my stay. There is certainly a lot to do in just the hotel, from the pool table/restaurant in the lobby, to the spa, lounge/pool and club. It felt nice to get to walk in wherever we wanted or reserve entry at the front desk rather than wait outside. The rooms were nice if not a little garish — but I think that's part of the experience. The best part was the location — to go out in the meatpacking district (or the Chelsea market for that matter) and still be so close is the biggest selling point. Overall, it was well worth the splurge, although I don't think it is comparable to similarly priced 'upscale' hotels/resorts — it was clear the Gansevoort Meatpacking caters to a younger 'party-friendly' crowd — so certainly expect loud noises, crowds of the inebriated, etc. It all kind of comes in the same package.

Big stylish rooms. Clubby neon lobby, which wasn't to my liking but good for people who want to socialize. Large windows in the hotel room made it fairly noisy (lots of sirens at night, cabs honking — not ideal for light sleepers). They put too much "stuff" in the room, for purchase… beauty products, dollar have club razor, massager duck?!, stuffed animal, food/water. Still, a comfy bed, plenty of room, nice TV, free apples/oranges at reception and an espresso machine in the room for morning caffeine needs. Great location, lobby staff are very nice and they checked my hotel key each night before I entered the elevators, which made me feel safe.

Our room was nice, The lady that checked us in was very nice. Unfortunately, this hotel is a rip off. They charged my car and my fiancée's card unauthorized for the same charges we paid cash for. Instead of trying to help resolve the issue they just kept transferring me to different departments and being extremely rude. I stayed in the Penthouse suite two nights. As soon as I checked in they begin charging both cards on top of demanding cash. They are a huge scam and big thieves. Do not give them your credit cards. They will steal from you and give a million miscellaneous reasons as to why. I travel all over the world and I would never stay here again, even for free. Rude accounting and management. Never again. We spent almost 3k to be treated unfairly!

Great hotel and rooftop bar, very expensive and disappointing there is no breakfast for such an expensive place.

Solid hotel, but expect noise if you are there on a weekend night. Also, you will get charged for everything in the room, including bottled water and coffee. Just check before using stuff.

I've enjoyed my stay at the hotel, but have not taken full advantage of the bars and sports facilities. The room is spacious and stylishly decorated. I was a bit surprised by all the products for sale, including the coffee pods. It's a shame there was no free hot drinks and milk. I didn't buy anything apart from an espresso on the first morning.

Location and rooms were great. Service from front desk was good but from some of the other staff was just OK.

If you plan on actually sleeping don't stay here. At least not on the weekend. The music coming from the rooftop bar was shaking our room until 4am. Front desk's response was "yea it's loud, not gonna lie. " They did offer to move us but after walking through the hotel we realized we were ten floors away from the music and there wasn't much moving was going to do to help. Wish we were warned about this before hand. Such a fun area but if you plan on sleeping I would suggest a different hotel.

The rooftop is the worst one from NYC! The manager and the people in charge of the line to get in to the rooftop discriminate people by their looks and they think they own the place when they are simple employees!

Booked a room at the hotel with my girlfriend, and was hoping to go swimming in the rooftop pool. When we arrived and went to the pool, it turned out the pool was so crowded they wouldn't let anyone else in, not even guests of the hotel! Maybe the hotel could have warned me about that when I spoke to them on the phone and mentioned the pool as my reason for booking my stay there. The room was small (even the deluxe) and compared to other luxury hotels in which I have stayed, it was overpriced for what it was.

Worst bar in New York. Terrible service. Terrible views. Way better rooftop bars in New York. Don't waste your time.

I LOVED staying at this hotel. It definitely caters to the chic crowd and has a nice touch of elegance. The rooftop bar is just perfect for letting your hair down. Very comfortable beds and the service is top notch as well.

Drinks are overpriced and horrendous. Wines by the glass are unpalatable (I didn't touch several despite paying for them). Cocktails slightly less so. Aside from the view and the cache there is zero reason to come here.

Awesome experience! They do all the little things right, and the hotel itself is very nice! Will definitely be back soon.

A savvy rooftop lounge which ideal for your typical NYC lovers. Highly recommend for those who just want to lounge with a glass of wine and accompanied by an amazing view.

A bit pretentious, but a good bar to get a great new york feel.

Everyone should see this place at least once as there is usually a line and its nice to know what all the fuss is about. Have been to the rooftop lounge and it's ok. Usually feels a bit crowded and difficult to tell where you should get drinks. The outside and inside have no central vibe other than dark space and uncomfortable chairs. It's a nice view of the city from the meatpacking area and elevators and lobby feel very neon so cant imagine it must a be a comfortable place to stay past one night. Was part of a handful of the first rooftop bars in NYC but now a days there are many to choose from.

I was here for an event on the rooftop. There were some great views, including the Standard Hotel and you can see the Apple store from there. On the other end, there is a swimming pool too.

Some coworkers of mine and I went to hang out at there rooftop lounge. We hand a great time. Beautiful people, great music, and awesome view. While we stepped out to see the view and return to our table someone stoled our bottle of whiskey. The management team was able to take care of the situation and were more than accommodating. This is why they get 5 STARS.

The rooftop is amazing and the people taking care of it are too.
