Close to the hospital and and friendly staff. Room cleanliness could be better. The floor looks like it hasn’t been vacuumed for quite some time and my sons feet were black after running around barefoot for about two hours. They offer breakfast and the location is convenient.

It was very nice and clean had no problem with anyone there we stay there while our daughter was in NICU for a week the people at work was really nice to us.

All the staff very helpful at all times get place to stay clean felt like home.

Great to have somewhere close to stay while a loved one is in the hospital, except the fact that I forgot my brand new portable phone charge in the room. I called them and explained the situation and they claimed it had never been found. Sadly people aren’t always truthful. So, I hope who ever took it needed it more than I did.

Large clean room, comfortable mattress, great free Wi-Fi, breakfast, and shuttle! Also, close to historic sites (walking distance to many).

Great hotel in springfield! Room was very clean. Had a fridge and microwave in room. Very comfortable stay. Friendly front desk and maid staff. They have a shuttle to take you to nearby places. I believe the hotel was full during our stay for the State Fair and we barely heard a peep from the hallway. Would definitely stay here again!

Perfect place to visit everything. Great breakfast. Rooms spacious. Beds comfy. Staff friendly. Walking distance to many attractions. Centrally located.

They checked us in at 11am the day before my surgery. Very nice comfortable room. Friendly staff. Will stay again if needed.

I really like the hotel the room and staff was very nice. I liked it there more than the hospital, St. John's, I had to go to surgery at the following day of June 26, 2018. I just wish they had smoking in the hotel rooms and meals other than breakfast for customers.

Reservation person was awesome. Room was adequate. Price was reasonable.

I felt it was a great value. Parking is free and I was able to walk to all the major attractions downtown (Lincoln Presidential Museum; Lincoln Home; State Capitol and Old State Capitol). I'd definitely stay here again. P. S. — Hotel guests can get discounted tickets for the presidential museum at the front desk.

Very clean, comfortable and accommodating, they took great care of us, it’s is also located in a great location easy to get what ever you need! We had a issue with reservations and they made it right and even gave us a free day, I would recommend this to anyone also if you are having any medical procedures done at the near by St. John’s hospital they have special rates to help you out! Just a awesome place!

Close and convenient to the hospital. Room was clean and comfortable. Staff was friendly and helpful in find a place for dinner.

Great Hospitality. When I arrived and a problem but they were so kind to work with me. Things worked out. The TV went out and run was up and fixed it. Quick. Shuttle Service is great.

Carpenter Street Hotel is good priced option near Downtown Springfield. Walking distance from most tourist spots. Great service and friendly staff. Great continental breakfast too.

So Im a little upset at this place. I stayed there last Wednesday to Thursday for a training in Springfield. When I came back home (all the way in Chicago) Thursday night, I realized that I had left a massage roller (that has a lot of sentimental value to me). I immediately called the hotel, described the item, & the manager told me that my item was there & he took down my credit card information and address and told me he would put in the mail the next day. Today, I called the hotel back and asked the agent if she knew whether the item had been shipped out yet and she informed me that my roller was still sitting on the manager's desk… I understand that it is just a roller and doesn't mean much to others, but I won that roller as a mini-prize in a bodybuilding competition so it means a lot to me. Why would you take down my credit card and address information if you're not going to send out my item? So disappointed. I just want my roller.

It was good. Ok staff and no bed bugs or anything. Hotel is clean and nice.

Comfortable rooms. Close to downtown. I have stayed there several times and the staff are always freindly, but there was some maintenance issues, bathroom vents need work, tubs slow to drain taking showers on the floors and other small things, but they are clean and the breakfast is good, parking well lit. Overall not a bad place to stay.

This is a older hotel downtown. Perfect! Clean, quite, polite professional staff. Nice rooms with frig, microwave, and very comfortable beds. Exceptional prices. Very, very close to the St John's Hospital. Which is why we chose the hotel. But we will be back for pleasure. Very close to many attractions. Thank you!

It's close to most of the historic sites, walking or a few min drive. They offer a shuttle M-F within a 5mile radius from 8am-10pm (weekends would be better). They have breakfast in the morning, although the serving area is small. The rooms are nice and the hotel staff are helpful and polite. I would definitely stay here again. We stayed for 3 nights and 4 days.

Made reservations yesterday before driving 2 and half hours. The guy didn't take my phone number down and didn't write the card information down correctly. Surgery was early in the morning and when we got to the hotel at 10:30pm they gave our room away to someone else. Said the card wasn't correct and they tried calling me and said it wasn't an active phone. Well I asked the guy if he needed my phone number he said not at this time when I made the reservations. Which I thought was weird. So they couldn't have called me, never had my number from the start. The hotel was booked up so the girl at the front desk called the manager and they gave me someone's else's room which was a double bed. Not what I reserved, I reserved A queen suite. Then they called in a housekeeper to clean a room so the person who's room they gave me had a room when they got there. My first time staying there wasn't very happy with what they did! Sounds like they give rooms away very easily! I felt sorry for the young lady at the desk it was her 4 th night working and Xavier who took my reservations really messed all my stuff up! I would of thought the hotel would of went above and beyond to make up for there error but no they didn't!

Excellent place to stay if you are touring Lincoln's historic sites. The hotel sells discount tickets to the Lincoln Presidential museum and also will provide a shuttle if necessary. The hotel is only 2 blocks from the museum and within easy walking distance of the Lincoln home and the Old State Capitol building.

The hotel is conveniently located near many of the Cities unique attractions. There are so many choices for food within walking distance or if there is something within a few miles they hotel has a shuttle that will take you anywhere. The staff was super very friendl and the GM is so nice. The rooms were very clean and comfortable. I'd definitely go back.

Very nice hotel experience. Rooms are clean with a friendly staff. The breakfast in the morning is very nice with some great options. The best part is the proximity to the Lincoln Museum. Ask the front desk for discounted ticket prices ($10 instead of $15! )

First night of our 10 day road trip. Excellent! Friendly! Don't hesitate to stay! The morning of check out we first went to the Lincoln sites. Staff drove us and picked us up! Easy peasy!

Great service! Excellent rates! Perfect location! Only issue we had was the stains on the rug, sheets and coverlet. All were clean but obviously stains were not removable. I felt the service, rates and comfort of the room were definitely worth some run down aspects.

The Carpenter Street Hotel was Fantastic. Their Free Van Service drives you within 5 miles of their hotel. They drove me and a friend to the Abraham Lincoln Museum, Abraham Tomb, Abraham Lincoln Springfield House, and all restaurants we wanted to go. To. Beth at the front Reservation Desk was friendly and very helpful. I recommend you stay at this hotel when you visit Springfield Illinois. I give the hotel 5 Stars.

We had to get our room key changed four times. Within one day of staying here because it was not working. In the morning when we were about to take showers I opened up the dry towels to hair being on and caught in the threading of the towels. I spoke with Beth the front desk manager and she explained to me that this was normal. She said sometimes when they wash the towel hair gets caught in the threading of the towels. This is the first I have ever experienced such filth at all hotel. I will never stay here and I will be reporting this non sense.

Carpenter Street Hotel. Is very clean the rooms are really nice. Had everything we needed in the room. Microwave, fridge, Coffee pot. And the staff there was really polite and nice And knowledgeable of the area. My wife had to have heart surgery at the hospital right next to it. I like to say thank you to the staff for making it a pleasurable trip thank you Jose S Hernandez.

Rooms where very nice and clean. It we very easy to find and all the people working where very nice and respectful.

Carpenter staff were very kind, the manager was very accomodating. I do wish they had a pool or larger bath tubs, but otherwise everything was nice and clean. I frequent this hotel as a traveling nurse and the entire staff has been very kind. The shuttle service is great as well!

Not sure how a reservation was made using my credit card, called them they didn't give me any information about it other that my name and address. There was no email confirmation or anything in my email. So they charge me a "no show fee" which is $110 and wouldn't refund me anything. I did however stay at the Wyndham the same date that I was supposedly made reservations there, why would I stay at two places. Long story short no refund of any kind. Beware of their online reservations.

We had to be in town for a friend of mine's cancer procedure at Memorial Hospital. The staff was courteous and very helpful. Had a wonderful breakfast. Was disappointed because Memorial told us the room would be free for her. It was not and cost more than we were told.

Clean, quiet, friendly. Everything worked. Comfortable. Expect to be back.
