Although my room was considered "non-smoking", the strong scent of stale cigarettes permeated the entire room. Some electric outlets did not seem to work. I should have requested a room change. No hair dryer or iron in the room. You must go down to request these.

I booked a king size bed online. When I arrived at the hotel around 3:45, there were no king sized beds ready for occupancy. I was given a room with double beds for the same price. However, the room reeked of smoke.

The bed was comfy the room was clean despite one of the towels being stained but it was nothing to get a new one and from working in housekeeping I know sometimes the washer does it to the towels but the housekeeper still should’ve checked. It would’ve been nice to have a mini fridge and a microwave in the room instead of having to walk to the laundry room when it’s dark out. Overall my stay was fine because I was only in the room to shower, eat and sleep.

Very clean rooms. Convenience. For me it's my first choice in the area. And what’s important friendly stuff. Good night.

Room was in decent shape. Bed super firm. Pillows were rad. Bathroom had numerous issues, all aesthetic. Not horrible, not great.

I stayed at 3 weeks at this property and had a great stay. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The room was very clean and spacious with an excellent channel lineup. I will recommend this motel 6 to everyone and looking forward to returning with my family this summer.

Small but comfy rooms. Fair price. Water takes a bit to heat up but not to long. Beds are super comfy.

Like that alot of motel/hotel chains are going to hardwood/laminate floors but, once in every blue moon they need to put a mop or pressure cleaner on them. Bathroom in our room was small enough that the shower mat made the bathroom have full carpeting. Lol.

Room was very confortable except for the train in front of my room. No emergency toothbrushes and toothpastes, emergency shampoo and conditioner. The price can include those items. I think hotel is located close to the train it should be cheaper of what I paid. No hairdryer.

The rooms are too small. Also they didn't have hot water available. No microwave and servoce was really bad. Towels also weren't clean. I recommend you check into a better motel because this is not worth your time.

Very friendly and accommodating staffs. The room I stayed was very clean and everything in general was very good. I will surely stay again at this place if I'm in the area.

It was cleaner than I expected. Very basic but fine. It was the cheapest option in town.

It was a decent economy motel. Nothing notable, but nothing wrong either. IF YOU ARE A RAIL FAN OR TRAIN BUFF, ask for a room around back on the second or third floors. The CSX Metropolitan Sub runs past, but it is far enough away that any noise from the trains is minimal. Bring a scanner and you'll be able to know when they are coming. You will be able to see CSX freight, MARC commuter and Amtrak passenger trains right outside your window.

After making a seven hour drive to this I was looking forward to my stay at this location but when I got there I was told I wouldn’t be able to stay because I’m only 19. This was after I checked the website that says 21 to book or 18 with a military ID. I heard of another incident like this at another Motel 6 so I even called this location to confirm and the woman I spoke to confirmed that it was 18 with a military ID. I mentioned that to the woman I checked in with who said her manager said the ID doesn’t matter, the age required to stay is 21 regardless. She said she’d try her best but there were no promises. I was able to stay but the woman did not speak to anyone about the situation, she simply rolled her eyes and asked me what side I preferred to stay on so I’m still not sure as to what happened.

I stay at motel 6 all the time. My most recent visit was pleasant but the time before was crucial and the staff attitude was way over the top. I was told I'd get a discount but I didn't get that. But over all motel 6 has come a long way. I love the rooms. I believe the motel can use new comforters and sheets.

It was a small room. Looked recently remodeled. Very clean and a modern, 70s retro motif. For a cheap, smoking rooms motel, my boyfriend and I were pleasantly surprised.

I'm currently standing inside the lobby at Motel 6 in Gaithersburg, MD. I come here often. Typically Im greeted with great customer service but at this very moment from the time I spoke the front desk guy Mr Singh is being extremely rude and loud. My sister paid for the room from her state. I get here he yells and tells me "IT'S NOT PAID ONLY CONFIRMATION". The whole time the money has been paid. He's rude and I wish I never came here. I will never ever come back here nor refer any friends or family here as I've done so in the past. I've never been so humiliated in my life. I wish she could get a refund. Signed not too happy right now…

Service was average. No ice machine, you had to go to the front desk and the clerk scooped ice for you from an ice chest. Not the most sanitary looking mechanism. The stay was average — reminded me of the "old" Motel 6 — not the new one — where you seek to be more than a truck stop. No water pressure in the room! sink, showers — very low water pressure. How much money do you save — would love a good shower at least. Given, DC area is an expensive market but for 75$ a night for one person — c'mon let's get a little more quality going here. R.

I've been staying here while training and I must give props to them for their excellent service and amazingly friendly staff. My room has been serviced daily and everything is clean, comfortable, and inviting. Excellent place to stay — especially if you are on a budget!

Motel 6 Gaithersburg MD. The service was outstanding. The room was perfect for what I was looking for. Stunningly cheap for the DC area. It was right on a Marc train track… and guess what… I liked it. It was like Chicago though only every 2-3 hours and more in the morning. Dog loved it. Speaking of dogs… no fees and no questions asked about a pet. Very nice. Although I booked 5 days… I had to leave 2 days early. They refunded my money within hours with no questions asked. As motel 6 goes, this one is great. Straightforward rooms. Convenient location as a pit stop night before hitting dc. Walking distance to coffee, donuts and sandwich shops. I've been there four times. Highly recommend if you're a budget motel person.

The motel was spacious. We are a big family and needed something last minute. The beds were spacious enough for 5 people. It was pretty clean except that the floor (being rug free) felt a little sticky/ unclean when walking bare foot. It's tucked a way in a nice place. There is a train the runs through there but, different from other reviews, it didn't bother us. The staff was very friendly. We enjoyed out stay!

Honestly, I was a bit nervous to stay here after the death of the baby a few weeks back, even though the baby did not die in any of your rooms. Stay was pleasant enough. Rooms are nice. My only real complaint was that the water running from the tub was yellow. Did not feel comfortable taking a shower what so ever, but my friend did with no issues. He did not leave out glowing in the dark. Lol I do like that there is no carpet on the floor. I have also stayed at your establishment before and the prices even for weekend prices, have gone up considerably.

Traveled with our 2 cats and stayed 3 nights. Room had wood grained tile floors that looked nice and were easy on cats. Underside of bed was half sealed off and half accessible to cats, they could hide there but were easy to retrieve. Room was comfortable, clean, with nice amenities — wide screen TV, shelves, seating area. Staff was friendly and gladly provided hot water in morning for our tea. Upon arrival, they gave really helpful advice on where to eat dinner. The office provides free coffee from 6am to 9am.

Clean and cheap room the one time I stayed there. Had to pay extra for faster Wi-Fi.

Terrible, room smelled like really bad cigarette smoke. Sketchy people around and wi Fi cost extra and it keeps booting you off? I never write reviews. But not a good experience.

It's exterior is a bit shoddy but my room ok except for all the questionable stains on the sheets. No free Internet. 2.99 for "basic" and 5.99 for deluxe.

It was easily accessible, easy to book, great price range and location with neat and clean rooms. The other services were great as well.

No free Wi-Fi and there are train tracks right behind the building. Staff was friendly and the rate was expected in the area. Guest with me commented that the towels were rough. Room was clean but no option to refuse a cleaning. I had no need for the service until check out. Would be nice to have a placard to put on the door. Overall positive experience.

Recent stay after plowing 36hrs during the 201g blizzard I needed a local convenient and place to rest and take a hot shower. I arrived and had to dig out my own parking space. Check in was fast and friendly. The room overall was a efficient in size and as expected on decor. However, the bathroom tub/shower was suspect and to my amazement full of stray hair — short and long. The sink area as well as the floor also were had tufts of hair… not very encouraging to suggest a recommendation for others. The Wi-Fi is per fee use not free. The bed was comfy and the primary reason other than a hot shower to "crash" there. Hide sight… Holiday Inn 3 blocks away 10.00 more — free breakfast, Wifi and a restaurant in house to boot. Oh well… next time.

This was the cleanest and nicest Motel 6 we have stayed in. We loved the hardwood floors and felt safe walking on them in our stocking feet in lieu of carpet which you usually find in motels, dirty and worn out. The rooms were immaculate and the staff was great, especially the man who checked us in. Highly recommend this motel and it is in a nice place for finding a place to shop and eat. Great value. Highly recommend it.

Due to location near NIST is was perfect. Should not pay for internet in USA — not a way to make money from an important service rendered. Coffee only partially available although the staff made some the one evening when arrive late.

I come here very often I always deal with mr. Sighs, he is great. Guy always attend to my need never have an attitude and once again he is always there. Not sure if he is the manager but great service room are clean, nonsmoking rooms are a plus. Last visited In September and will be back maybe this weekend keep mr. Sighs around hope I'm spelling his name correctly.

The overall stay was okay. The bed was comfy, the room was clean and it was relatively quiet. The only problems I had were with the front lobby worker yelling at my boyfriend and I for sitting on the stairs telling us to "go to our room right now" and the fact that since I stayed more than 2 nights, I did not get any kind of house keeping after the second day. No fresh towels or sheets unless I asked for them. The Wi-Fi does not work so do not pay for it. It is for one person and one device. They will not tell you this. Other than that, I enjoyed my trip to Maryland to see my boyfriend and I may stay here again if I can't find a better place for a better price.

A motel 6 standard only the don't tell you that there a very loud train passing right next your room shakes. Every 10 minutes. Shouldn't be 75 dollars.

Room looked clean but it had cockroaches, couldn't sleep because of the car lot next door had music blaring all night long. No kleenex or coffee pot or refrigerator in the room. One vending machine in the whole hotel clear at the other end. I would of had a better stay if I would of slept in my Suv. Very few television channels.

Took a quick trip to MD from NY. Motel was clean, staff was friendly and helpful. Was a great place to go after a long day of sightseeing. I would recommend this motel to everyone.

Bed not too bad. "Free Wi-Fi" costs $4/night and is super slow. No coffee maker in the room. Close to the highway, but probably could have found something around for about the same price ($75/night). An overnight stop for a drive down the east coast, but probably would not return to the same Motel 6 again.

When we called the front desk spoke no English. When we got to the hotel we had to pay for Wi-Fi, even though they advertised free Wi-Fi. The Wi-Fi is only useable on one device at a time, and it's very slow. The sheets are very scratchy and the towels are dirty. There were noisy people drinking outside our room, and they continued to be noisy even after we called the front desk. My advice is to shell out a few extra bucks for a comfortable bed and a business that won't tolerate excessive noise.
