We love Alden! The rooms are nice with the suite/beach view. You have two pools and a hot tub and the pools are right near The fabulous cabana bar and food truck. Only complaint I can think of with this place is that the room service could be faster sometimes but that’s really it. Positive would be: The suites was really big, has a full kitchen and enough space. The beds was comfortable, and this week the mattresses will be changed in new one on some floors of the 6 person suites. It would be clean in the rooms and the hotel. There's a BBQ terrace with some gas grille where you can have a nice evening. It's close to the fine sand beach. The personal was very friendly and helpful. Negative would be: Some pieces of the hotel would a bit old and must be renovated. On the beach you must pay $25/day for chairs and Umbrella. Parking not included, it will be $15/day.

The rooms are nice. Bed extra comfy. Staff are extremely nice and cater to your every need. Room was great! I liked the idea of having all the amenities of home. Miss Wanda our housekeeper, is a real nice person, easy to talk to and loves her job! It was a pleasure every morning seeing her! I recommend this hotel. Clean, efficient, close to the beach, two pools, a hot tub and laundry mat, and convenience store on site. Drinks at the bar by the beach are reasonably priced and delicious! Definitely coming back in the near future!

Right on the beach with a balcony or porch for every room. Two clean and spacious pools and a nice hot tub in between. Our room was clean upon arrival and cleaned every day. The suite with the kitchenette was spacious with a table and four chairs, couch and an ottoman. We had pots and pans and everything we needed to cook with. The dishwasher was awesome! The front desk employees and employees we ran into on the resort were friendly and always made a point to say hello. On our second day there, I kept turning down the air but it kept getting warmer in our room. I told the front desk and they had maintenance in our room within 10 minutes to fix the unit. Loved how the beach was literally a step off of the Cabana Bar. We had so much fun walking the shore line, searching for shells and relaxing in the warm waters. Loved our week trip at the Alden and can't wait to return again. Best in St. Pete's for sure!

Very nice resort! Our room was a double. It had 2 double beds and a logging area with a little kitchen! The staff was friendly and there were also two pools and a hot tub on site. And, the hotel is right on the beach! To top it off, we all got buy one get one drink coupons upon check-in!

I understand why people say the resort is outdated, but it's not really warranted. The property may be old, but it is exceptionally maintained. In our suite the furniture and fixtures were new. The bathroom and kitchen were also remodeled and equipped with new appliances. The parking is free to guests, and most of it is covered. The resort is literally on a gorgeous beach. The pools were warm. The stag was very attentive and helped with everything. There were even grills for you to cook your own food. But you don't need to do that because several amazing seafood restaurants are serving fresh caught food, and within walking distance. We will definitely come back.

Chris and his crew at the front desk were great, and provided outstanding customer service. We had a very early flight into Tampa and got a ride over to The Alden. We checked into the resort well before noon. Chris, was able to get us into our room before noon. Which was fantastic since we were in desperate need of a nap and some rest from our early flight. We had another great vacation at The Alden and in St. Pete Beach, can't wait to return next year.

Wow! What a wonderful vacation! Every staff member we encountered was friendly and beyond helpful. Our room was spacious and CLEAN and just a short walk to the beach. The entire facility was clean including the pool, courtyard, front lobby, laundry room, sidewalks, landscaping, and the beach. We enjoyed grilling out on the upper deck (gas grills, not charcoal! ) and much appreciated our bartenders at the Cabana Bar! We absolutely love the Alden and can't wait to return soon!

This was a last minute switch from Sirata Resort which was under construction (undisclosed at reservation). Pretty relaxed atmosphere. A little bit older facility, but plenty of charm and a great value comparably. Front desk was very friendly and accommodating. Will stay again. UPDATE: Refused us a late check-out, which is fine, but be aware.

Beautiful place to stay! Gorgeous view from our balcony of the white sandy beach, the bay and even one of several warm water pools with a short walk to all, not to mention a tiki bar on the way to the beach with a large variety of exotic and flavorful drinks to cool you on a warm day! I will definitely return!

Low service, small rooms, adequate care.

First time staying here; it's an definitely older property, but well maintained. Staff was great; very friendly and helpful, and the pools were clean and thankfully, since it was chilly while we visited, heated. The room was fine; nothing stands out either good or bad. It was clean and, again, while older, looked well maintained. The full kitchen is a definite plus, because (and this segues into my one negative comment) if I could suggest one change it would be to offer a little more in the way of onsite dining options beyond a food trailer next to the bar.

Very nice family friendly resort right on St. Pete beach. All rooms are suites with @ least 1 bedroom apartment with a full kitchen & bathroom. Our room also had a balcony. Alden also has 2 heated pools, a double sized jacuzzi, 2nd story patio with gas bbq grills, tennis & basketball courts, ping pong so many activities and it's within walking distance to many shops & restaurants. We had a great weekend stay & plan to go back again! Hopefully for an even longer stay next time!

While on the outside is not a thing that attracts you. The rooms are complete and the staff very friendly… the location is good.

We had a great time! It is a family hotel for sure. Easy access to the beach and restaurants are close by. You don't even have to use your car, if you don't want to. Room was clean and any time I called for extra towels or clean up someone was sent right away. They welcome any guest to come up and enjoy the private beach with free parking. I'd say for a weekend getaway from across the bridge, it was wonderful stay and we will be returning!

Booked last minute through a third party site. I called around 1-ish to see if we would be able to do an early check-in and it was happily granted. We were given Bungalow 110 which is more of a mini, modern beach house than anything else. So many renovations are like lipstick on a pig — but this was truly beautifully renovated. Comfy sitting area, extremely useable kitchen, gorgeous bathroom and a king size bed with fresh, cozy linens. It’s a pretty compact resort — despite our room being located near the check-in desk, it only takes a 5 minute walk (even with lugging a baby! ) to be swimming in the gulf. With 2 pools (and a hot tub area! ) it only takes 30 second to find yourself in a body of water.

March 2017, I made reservations for one of the villas with a king size bed. 10 days over Christmas break. We've stayed here at the Alden several times before. This was a gift to my wife for our anniversary. I called to confirm our reservation 5 days before and the lady who answered the phone told me they had know records of our names or confirmation number. They had know problems charging my credit card back in March. She told me that she would contact someone else in charge of reservations and they would call me back shortly. 2 days went by with know return call. So I called them again, talked to Kevin at the desk and he told me he emailed me that morning and I asked him and he told me yes we have the room we wanted. He did email me and confirmed the villa we asked for. 2 days later we arrived and we where told all the villas or under reconstruction. To our disbelief, they tried to deny that I was told from Kevin that we had the villa. They did give us a gulf front room at the same price and we accepted that. We get to our room and find that we do not have any kind of oven to cook on and a VERY small refrigerator. One of the reasons we liked the Alden, we love buying local food and cooking in our room. The next morning we complained at the front desk and they really didn't care. Thought it was funny. Parking was a problem even though the motel wasn't really that busy. We did really like being that close to the beach! The people at the front desk are very rude!

Love this place, 5th time staying here. Reasonably priced, clean, friendly staff. Beach fronts overlooking Gulf of Mexico only a few steps to the sand. Many restaurants, bars, and shops within walking distance. Great for family of 5 or a couples get away.

The resort was very well kept. The rooms are updated. I love tile floors over carpet because you can see how clean they truly are. The small kitchennete had new appliances. We were very happy with our stay. They have two big pools and a jacuzzi in between. The Cabana was a great place to hang out at while watching the sunset. This resort had so many amenities you would never be bored. My husband and I have no children; however, we noticed that it was kid friendly and children had a great time. If you do not want to hear children screaming, jumping, having fun, I advice your room be away from the pools. We will definitely stay at Alden Suites again!

My fiance and I had a wonderful time. Hotel is very nice and clean. Staff were professional and dependable. The beach was literally right there! There were gas grills that we used two nights in a row. Weather was also perfect. We'll be back.

Celebrated our anniversary here and couldn't have picked a better place. From the moment we arrived, the staff was exceptionally helpful and friendly. This family-owned resort is on prime property for beautiful sunsets, offers 2 heated clean pools/hot tub and updated suites with options to fit your needs. I can't thank Mike for his personal assistance in making our trip a memorable one — we would most definitely stay here again.

What a wonderful resort! We have been coming here for years and truly always been very happy here. It also atracts other wonderful people.

My family stayed in a suite (bedroom, living room, and kitchenette) after Irma hit. Our room had a beachfront view, which also meant we were smack dab between the bar and the pool, which were both crowded and noisy. The noise did subdue before too late in the evening. The cable was grainy and the remote difficult to use. Both beds were uncomfortable but mostly tolerable. AC worked well and the suite was very clean and inviting. I wish there was more parking available, but it is very secure. Overall decent, but overpriced due to the comfort level of the beds.

Had a great vacation here… loved being right on the beach and looking out the sliding glass doors to the ocean. Staff was helpful and friendly. There was a cabana beach bar a few feet from our room if you are into that kind of thing… at least 2 pools and a hot tub on site. Beds were very comfy and we slept well! Fabulous restaurants within walking distance…

We stayed at the Alden Suites resort the last week of July for 7 days and had a fantastic time! The staff was very friendly and helpful with everything needed. Buddy at the front desk was outstanding and made the stay very personable. Every recommendation he made was spot on and made finding restaurants and fishing trips well worth it. A few times I went to the front desk to ask about towels and coffee and he stated just call us we will bring it up to you. When we called they delivered immediately and were very pleasant as well. The cabanas were well worth the money and again they were always pleasant and helpful. He checked on us often and provided all the info we needed. This resort is outstanding and I would say the customer service deserves a 10. Thank you for all of your service and for making my vacation outstanding!

Nice place that steals items from your rooms. My 7 year old fell asleep in bed with his iPod, we left and he forgot it there. Only for us to call back and have them say it's not there, so it was stolen by the staff. Enjoy.

I should start by saying that I'm not one to normally leave a public negative review without first allowing the business to make things right. As a fellow business owner, I understand that things happen. However, after being promised that the hotel would be "contacting us with a resolution", it has now been nearly a month since our stay and it is clear that they did not intend to make things right. My husband and I stayed there for my birthday weekend July 7th. We paid a premium for our gulf front room which did have a nice view, balcony and kitchenette. However, late that evening the AC completely stopped working in our room and we realized by around midnight that it was getting very hot. Between that and the incredibly uncomfortable beds, we barely slept. We called the hotel first thing that next morning and they had a tech come out. The AC unit ended up not being a simple fix and we had someone working in our room for 6+ hours that day. So not only did we have a full Friday night without AC, but half of Saturday with limited use of our room as they were working on it. When we went to check out, my husband brought this up very nicely to the management and asked if the hotel would consider any compensation or consideration given the issues.

Great hotel. Right on the beach. Nice size room for six people. Hotel very accommodating. Lots of stuff with walking distance including the trade winds hotel which has lots of water activities. Would stay here again for sure.

The room was very nice and all staff with whom we interactacted were extremely friendly, helpful and kind. It's literally right on the beach which was so great. Our room was a 2 min walk to water. Do yourself a favor and go to Snapper' s Sea Grill, right across the street. Amazing seafood and huge portions!

Need more tidiness in the hallways and in the rooms.

We just got back yesterday from Alden Suites in St. Pete. We had 3 rooms right in between the pools. Loved having the option of cooking/grilling. We have a great time and the beach was outstanding! It was also nice to have the option of 2 pools and a hot tub. The rooms were nice, ours was a little outdated, but I know they are working to update the rooms. The staff were all helpful and friendly. There were 3 things that we weren't happy with: one was the cleaning of the rooms, and probably it was just the lady cleaning our rooms, basically she made the bed and dumped the trashes. With it being right on the beach our floors were full of sand. We tried to be careful to wipe our feet before we got in bed but of course we had sand in our bed and our sheets weren't changed the entire week. The second was the Wifi… terrible reception. And the third was we had talked to the office about a late check out because our flight, just one hour, they said it wouldn't be a problem. But the morning of checking out they wouldn't let us do check out later. But, we would stay there again.

Service is great, they try to accommodate all requests. Rooms are nice, layout is strange (bedroom by front door). Can be loud and a bit dark on the first floor, but excellen location to beach and pools. Feels more like a motel excellence rather than resort. Lots of amenities and friendly staff made this a fun stay. Pull out sofa bed isn't the most comfortable (not a surprise though) and Wi-Fi signal is average.

The rooms are cleaned daily, the attendants are friendly, the views are beautiful. I absolutely love the community patio. They have 3 grills ready to go at all hours. They are gas so you don't need charcoal. Lots of socialization happens there people feel comfortable. Yes they are cleaned too. They have a little cabana bar right on the beach. I found myself enjoying a sunset then being surprised by fireworks in the evening. Honestly, I'm coming back.

Great place to stay! Walk right out of the balcony and onto the beach. Has a nice bar with great service. Has a volleyball and basketball court! All around great place for the family!

A little pricey but there are substantial amenities offered. The room was kinda difficult to find and the bed left a lot to be desired. I came for a wedding and the hotel had custom packages for all the wedding guests that included custom made "do not disturb" signs which were a great touch. All in all service was great.

My husband and I knew upon making our reservation that the beachfront suites were a bit outdated, but we still wanted to be beachfront, so we took our chances. The prices for beachfront were reasonable, the room was spacious and the layout was fine. Access to the beach was a breeze and it was a quiet, pretty beach. We had a corner room and sometimes I could hear the people in the room next to us, and smell their cooking, but not enough to complain about. The lighting was a bit too dark unless all of the shades were opened, but then you lost your privacy. Even though when we arrived the room was clean, it still felt a bit dirty due to the age of it. The pull out sofa was very outdated and was made of a thick vinyl. Although it didn't visibly look dirty, I couldn't bring myself to sit on it without placing a towel down first, same for the kitchen table chairs. The mattress was a bit too soft, as most are for me when I travel, but I think that this one needs to be replaced. I couldn't tell if the tub was clean or not, due to the age of it, let's just say I showered quickly and got right out! I'm sure when they get around to remolding the beachfront rooms they will be spectacular, but then the prices probably won't be! The front desk employees were nice enough. Parking was plentiful, free and easy and they even have an additional free parking lot for guests right next to their regular parking lot.

Rooms are super clean. Hotel seems to be well maintained. Service was pretty excellent as well. Employees are fast and kind. Overall a nice stay for a good price.

We stayed two nights while in town for a wedding and had a very good experience. The staff was extremely nice and helpful. Our room was clean and the kitchen and bath looks as though they've been updated in the past few years. The pools and beach bar were also very nice. Clearly this is an older property and it did not all the amenities or the massive crowds of the adjacent Tradewinds but we enjoyed the peace and quiet and would go back there without hesitation.

Alden suites is an affordable beach front hotel. Staff is very good. Rooms are always clean, and it was not too crowded compared to other Beach front hotels ive been to. The only downside was the cabanas on the beach were only to be rented out — not included with the hotel price. $25 a day? I'll pass and throw a towel out on the sand.

The location is great. Rooms are mediocre but acceptable. Internet speed is very slow unless you pay an extra fee.

We just got back from 5 day getaway. This was perfect — clean, quiet, on the beach and no resort fee!

Stayed here for a solid 5 days. Our 1st morning after sleeping in the spacious room there was construction going on in the room above us. We we're instantly upgraded to beachfront rooms no questions asked. The staff are friendly as hell, the pools were heated and the drinks we're cold. I honestly can't think of anything that went wrong with our stay.

The resort is decent, especially for the price. The suite we stayed in was spacious and clean with a nice view of the pool and a somewhat obstructed view of the beach. The downsides are that the walls are paper thin. You will hear every person that walks by right down to the details of their conversation. The resort had renovations going on during our stay. One of the two pools was closed and during the day there was a constant sound of banging and metal grinding. One of our days the noise was so loud we couldn't be in the room. The other day it was less loud but still very present. Management offered us a discount for the one day. Overall I would probably recommend staying here as long as you don't need to be in your room during the day (we had our toddler with us who still takes mid-day naps)

Good: Spacious suite, separated spacious rooms, balcony, friendly and VERY helpful staff, beach access, Tampa Bay Times daily delivery, proximity to food and necessities. Bad: slow internet, room not quite as clean as I would like it to be, dated look, no daily service for rooms, no character. I'd probably stay here again if I was coming back on a budget.

We just stayed in a suite here and really enjoyed our stay. The room was very clean, the staff very friendly and helpful. The gulf view was beautiful. The only suggestion I would say is to have a full size coffee pot in the room in place of the 1 cup at a time one that we had. We had three adults who were coffee drinkers and always had to ask for more coffee packets. Our maid, Arifa was very accommodating to us when we asked her. We would definitely stay again.

I just stayed there last weekend and had an incredible time. Rooms are nice and very clean. Beautiful view from my oceanfront suite and great weather during my stay. The bar staff was on point and very friendly. Can't wait to go back.

This place has a very friendly staff and is a great Value we stayed in the suits and they were in great shape I dont know what happen to the people with bad reviews. Our room was clean and in great shape great for our family. We are always looking for a good deal we booked early and got a great rate. We would recommend it and come back.

Great hotel went here many times as a child and now me and my wife spent our 2 anniversary there for a little 2 night stay. Rooms were clean and bed was comfortable. Resort was clean and well taken care of. Dave at the bar was welcoming and fun spent the better part of our first day hang down there with him and other guest. Hotel is in close proximity to fun bars and restaurants. Beach is beautiful like all of the Florida Gulf Coast. Price is right also they we're the best priced clean and inviting hotel on the beach. Would recommend this hotel for out of towners and locals like ourselves looking to get away.

This is the worse hotel EVER. Don't ever book there. The hotel is falling a part and dirty. It was the worse expeirence ever we've ever been to with traveling to FL. The hotel should invest on remodling the rooms, carpet, and painting the palce. The beach bar was all dirty and rusty. The pool was all dirty and the employees did not like working there becuase of the place is not up to date. The main office is all updated and nice, don't let the pictuers on the website fool you.

Mattress very comfy. View beautiful. Staff very helpful, and made a bad flight turn into a great night. Grounds need a bit sprucing up. But I don't understand all the hate flung out there. Give them a chance.

We stayed for 5 nights and it was awesome. My 3 kids loved the swimming pools and the hot tub. They have a ping pong table and some sand games. The beach is great! The service was great.

We've stayed at the Alden twice this year. Once during spring break and again in mid June. Both times we stayed in a Gulf Front Suite in building 1. We also have a reservation to stay another long weekend at the end of the summer. The rooms we stayed in, were both fully renovated, clean and well appointed. One had a mini-fridge and 2nd one had a full size refrigerator. Both had a dishwasher, small stove and microwave. The bedroom has two queen sized, very comfortable, beds and there is a pull out sofa in the gulf front living room along with a small table. We found the staff friendly, efficient and quite helpful. On our last day we were able to continue to enjoy the beach, pool and other amenities after our check out time. While walking through the courtyard, I have been able to glimpse into some of the first floor units that have not been renovated. I would be very unhappy with one of those rooms and can understand why some may have reported a negative experience. This is probably important to ask about when you make your reservation. Overall our experience at the Alden has been terrific. We will return again and again.

I wish they had negative stars. Don't EVER book through their website because choosing the best available option means their website refreshes every minute and will throw in non refundable prices with out you knowing. I tried to cancel my reservation and was told this then when I asked where this is located I was told they will not tell me. The rep ASHLEY advised me she was hanging up on me but didn't then went to her manager and lied saying I told her to go f herself which I never did and the calls are recorded. Then continued to mock me saying yea she cant even buy diapers for her kid but wants to come to a hotel she needs her priorities straight. When she came back to the phone I said I heard you and she hung up. I called back and spoke with the manager grace who then advised she knows what her rep said and told me she isn't given me anything and to stop calling (which I only called twice) or she will call the cops on me for harassment. I said I just want information on the website she told me stop calling and they will not give me anything. I asked for information on her boss to write a letter she advised she will not give me that either and to stop calling because they have better things to be doing and hung up. Worst customer service ever! dont ever stay here.
