Reviews of BEI San Francisco, Trademark Collection 4*
Easy walk to my client’s office. I appreciated the free drink coupons! And the concierge was very helpful arranging a ride for me to the airport after I checked out.
Horrible hotel. No customer service. Stay Away!
They never call you back when you call about stuff you leave. The beds are on the floor. No storage in night stands or drawers. It was ridiculous.
Good. Nice. Cool. It is worth a lot.
A very spacious clean hotel always very friendly all the staff and above all muncha security at all. Time
your rich food.
Good Wine Tasting. I enjoyed that and the delights!
The beds are so comfortable, the room is clean and modern and I love the complimentary soaps!
Aesthetically pleasing, nice staff! Literally across from the Orpheum! No complaints other than my at home Giants are not on their TV network!
The 3 stars is not for the hotel entirely. The rooms were clean and the beds were comfortable. The staff was not very accomodating except for Benny — he was awesome! The staff could learn proper hospitality from him. The hotel is close to Market St and the area is filled with homeless people. We felt very unsafe walking back to the hotel. Give benny a raise!
If anybody is trying to find good deals on hotels visit HoteIBully. Com booked a hotel on there and they had the best rates anywhere! Room was clean as was the rest of the hotel. Hotel staff was very helpful and friendly. There was some construction going on so their front doors were not being used. I wish there had been a more visible sign for us to know where to go. Passed by the entrance our first time around. They did have a sign but I didn't even realize it was the original hotel entrance. It was the perfect place to stay if you are going to the theater! Literally right across the street.

Hotel is in a great location. It's very close to the BART station and close to many restaurants and drug stores like CVS. The rooms are good too. The bed was comfortable and provided a good view of the city. There is a pool and a gym that has treadmills and elliptical machines but no weights. The staff is polite friendly and helpful. The only downfall is since the hotel is non smoking people go outside the exit doors at the end of the hallway and have a smoke. The smell comes right back and travels down the hallway and into your room. Especially mine as I was right next to the exit door. Other than that this hotel is a go!
Remodeling on (at least) ground floor in August 2018. Rooms are fine, if a bit dated. Staff friendly and efficient. Area is a mixed bag. Tech workers and tourists during the day, and it's hard not to be accosted by homeless at any time, day or night. Half a block from Market St. So convenient for transport. One block from the Market, a While Foods-like store with lots of made to order food choices.
Stayed here some staff are very pleasant but others incredibly rude and disrespectful. I would not recommend anyone stay here there is a much nice hotel just around the corner at a much better price. Check the area you'll find much nice cheaper accommodation with respectful staff.
If anyone is looking for great deals on hotels go to HotelRaven. Com Booked a room on there and they had the best rates around… The rooms are nice and I was very happy with the staff and the services. The location is convenient to the sights and public transportation. The only downside is not the fault of. The hotel. The area outside the hotel is blighted with drug activity and drug zombies. The hotel has guards in the lobby and you need a room key to use the elevator so I did. Not feel unsafe. Overall, I thought it was a good value for an expensive city. Hope the city can clean up the drugs.
The rooms themselves were clean, and the bed was comfortable. The staff was top notch, Livia, who checked me in was fantastic. But the floor I was on had a door that looked like it had been busted in, with a gaping whole covered by tape. Which made it feel unsafe. The room was also very bare. I would stay here again. Just not my first choice in the area. Pic was my view.
Rooms were nice. Parking was easy. Location is not ideal for foot traffic at night. Otherwise the location is great and very convenient.
Nice clean hotel, nice reception staff, is very close to the BART. In the evening so about 22va. 00, the homeless gather in the surrounding streets but were never paused. You should be careful where you step, here and there you will also find a syringe. Unfortunately, the hotel can't do anything about this — In the morning everything is clean again the city puts a lot of effort into it. We would book again.
May 2018 update — — I've returned to this hotel, possibly for the last time. I've always been able to overlook the homeless problem in the surrounding area since there are homeless everywhere in SF. But I can no longer justify the PRICE of this hotel given it's difficult location, and for the first time I felt nervous walking near the hotel, as a woman. I hope newcomers get some info before walking around — there are some directions you can go without issue, but Market street, south of the hotel, should definitely be avoided unless you have high tolerance for street poverty and mental illness. — — (Previous review is below) This location was very convenient for me (for work reasons), even though the surrounding area can be a bit dodgy — but not so much dangerous as adjacent to areas with a lot of homeless/street people. But there are lots of restaurants and coffee shops around (I recommend Paramo's on 9th). I like that there is a business center her — and that the hotel is so close to transport (Bart and street cars).
Room is small but clean. My room doesn't have a desk, but it may be because it is a handicap accessible room. A/C works well. Convenient location and the staff has been great. The restaurant is not bad as well.
An excellent hotel with all the luxury of details. Good bar and restaurant service.
Very clean and excellent location.

Good facilities, good attention, the only bad thing is the area, it is full of homeless around, it seems unsafe, although it really is quiet, just be cautious, but the hotel well located and OK.
This location is NOT a place I recommend for anyone with a family or young children. There are active drug deals going on within steps of the front entrance. The homeless make walking into the hotel nearly impossible. If you want a refrigerator in your room no problem 20.00 a night. I recommend the Holiday Inn Express at the Warf safer, free breakfast and refrigerator and microwave in room. A better value. I am a IHG premium customer and thus is the worst location I've experienced.
First off I'd traveled all day n brought some food to microwave while we settled in. There is NONE. I was fine just go to the vending machine, only soda machine. If u want to go clear down to lobby there is food vending machine with very poor options. This is my 1st time to SF so I was very excited to look out at the view. Our view was literally a cement run down apartment building. Cdnt even see the sky. Also no sauna, no continental breakfast. The bathroom sink was dirty. No bags in any of the trash cans. There is a restaurant here but $19 for eggs Benedict looks like I will have to get completely dressed, go down to main floor with lobby to maybe gets some starbursts for $2
If anyone is looking for great deals on hotels go to HotelRaven. Com Booked a room on there and they had the best rates around… Lobby is really nice and looks recently renovated. Rooms are a bit small but comfortable, and front desk staff were very friendly. Immediate surroundings were somewhat crowded by SF’s homeless, which made walking near the hotel feel unsafe at times.
Located walking distance to many downtown attractions and the BART, but the surrounding streets don’t feel safe due to the large homeless population. Not easy for Lyft/Uber/etc. Drivers to pick you up at the front of the hotel. Security guards stand outside the front doors and are nice and will help you cross the street to your ride if needed. Nicely renovated lobby, but our room wasn’t as recently remodeled (but still clean and nice). Hotel restaurant is over priced for the food available, but convenient.

Always a pleasant stay even if the rooms arent super fancy. Everything is clean, the staff is helpful, but you will have the occasional issue with something. Like my room that had NO HEAT and would only blast ice cold air. I even called front desk and nothing was done. So this time, 2 stars because that was a very poor experience.
Lobby was nice, but kinda sketchy outside and I now understand the need for the security guards. The rooms also have very thin walls. Could hear anytime someone in the vicinity flushed their toilet.
The homeless immediately surrounding the hotel make it very uncomfortable to get in and out of the hotel. The staff I imagine so their best to clear as much as possible, but it's still extremely off-putting and makes it feel unsafe. The staff is polite, but don't listen. They like to repeat themselves over and over despite providing a response the first time. This happened several times during the trip. Check-in was a breeze and the agent that assisted was super helpful. The room was clean. Overall a mixed bag experience.
It clears my basic requirements: linens and bathroom are acceptably clean and the beds are comfortable enough to sleep in. The wallpaper doesn't look clean and is peeling in less visible places. The tub in the bathroom has a textured bottom to prevent people from slipping, but it also makes it look somewhat dirty before I even used it. A hotel room needs to be impeccably clean to earn four stars from me, and it only gets five stars if the amenities make me never want to leave.
The hotel itself is fine. Rooms are clean and the staff very friendly. However, the area is, especially in the evening, somewhat disturbing due to the high number of Odachlosen.
Great hotel. Very nice. Very well located with relation to the points of interest of Downtown. However in the evenings it seems unsafe, when you see people on the street are living near to the hotel.
Pass here for breakfast. The service was very good, were atentivos and the food was good.
Relatively expensive, but close to the Bayline.
This hotel is a nice no frills place to stay in San Francisco. It's definitely a convention hotel. The staff was very friendly and the beds were very comfortable. Decently located, although the only down side, and to be fair most places in San Francisco have to deal with this, is the number of homeless the congregate on the sidewalk outside the hotel.
Nice lobby. Quiet rooms. Front desk needs work. No reason for a holiday inn to be as snooty as it was. They should work on creating a good pizza and put it in their menu. Maybe some decent tacos, and even noodles. good sleep though. Even after they tried to upcharge us. (if you book online, be sure to save your printouts)
Nice hotel, very clean. Have to pay parking. Area is very bad. Full of homeless people sleeping in street and using drugs. People shooting up heroine in front of hotel. Needles and syringes all over street. Market street which is adjacent to the hotel is full of homeless and gangs. Very uncomfortable walking in street day or night. Very beautiful city ruined by misery. I have never seen in my 43 years on planet so many miserable and drugged out people. Hotel should have city remove and arrest drug users. Hotel should clean up all needles and syringes on street in front of hotel.
The rooms are good size and very clean. They are pretty well updated and nice. However they do not have convent store in the hotel, and getting a bottle of water takes a block and a half walk.
Very competent and especially helpful staff, security service at the top entrance! Strategic point to visit the city both on foot and well connected by the means.
This Holiday Inn allowed my fiancée and I to enjoy the first adventure of San Francisco. Service was exceptional. Our room was clean from the moment we entered. The staff provided us with all the comforts when away from home. Simply put; we had the time of our lives here!
Good Hotel but full of junkies and bums in the street!
Stayed here some staff are very pleasant but others incredibly rude and disrespectful. I would not recommend anyone stay here there is a much nice hotel just around the corner at a much better price. Check the area you'll find much nice cheaper accommodation with respectful staff.
Close to the subway (beard). Rooms are ok but expensive. Windows weren't really dense, it pulled and the constant noise from the streets — especially Police Cars — annoying. The area isn't the best, running down 8th Street is also somewhat adventurous, lots of oblique people and homeless people.
Rooms are all not cleaned properly dust all around the front desk staff are rude do not care if u book through ur corporate internal site and will allot all non premier rooms like next or behind elevators and not care when we show pictures of dusty rooms which It’s clearly visible the dust on side tables. I kept my phone on table and went to take shower came back I see a layer of room dust on my phone screen clearly visible then I called for house keeping if some one can come clean the desk got response no house keeping available and they forwarded to on duty manager and went to voice mail the I took that phone like and walked to front desk to show it in person then front desk person told will send a house keeping person and person came and trying to wipe the dust and when I moved my pillow all dust again formed a layer on table and I told him did this room properly cleaned why we see dust on pillows and bedsheets it’s 11.45 PM means 1.45 AM as I visited from Texas CST Mid night have to go to work Morning the person left saying he will tell to on duty manager but no response yet it’s already half hour passed the house keeping person left still waiting.
Service excellent, with perfect facilities to be able to rest or perform activities of odicina away from an environment estrezante.
I have traveled to many places in Europe I'm a member of Accor and in America with IHG worst thing is that this hotel chain, I recommend it because I would travel with my pet in the end I did front desk reception and ill-educated little kind to the eastern ward of luggage and a tour desk are rude and unpleasant, WOULD NEVER go back, you threw my daughter in the stroller of the baby and their suitcases to the reception only with a sorry please! I asked for room on ground floor more than a month ago and I gave it to a 14-floor with a drink, just a seat for a drink in the dining room, demanding if you have a coupon from target it was the worst experience.
If you are looking for a "reasonable" place to stay this is the place. Pete's Coffee just down the street. Food is good but it has a very limited menu.
Well located close to the town hall. Clean, relatively modern and with good room service.
Great hotel but breakfast is not included.
Good structure pity for the tramps near the tree.
If anyone is looking for a great deal on hotels you can check it out on HotelRaven. Com Booked a room on there and they had the best rates around… This hotel was a very pleasant surprise to my wife and myself. It is located in the Civic Center of San Francisco, not far from the Orpheum Theater. It is a little bit of a rough area, but it is very easy to get to and from the Subway nearby to the hotel and the pathway is well lit at night. The rooms were nicely sized and the bed was comfortable. Everything was clean and well maintained. The usual Holiday Inn quality was there as well as good service from the front desk staff. We do plan to come back.
A lot of homeless in the surrounding area but very good inside.
Nice clean room, convenient to the location that was the reason for our trip, very friendly staff. Just know that the surrounding area us shockingly populated with drug dealers making transactions in broad daylight without any hesitation whatsoever. I'm still stunned by what I saw — though I will say they did not approach me or make me feel particularly threatened — but the volatility of that activity puts passersby at great risk so be very careful.

The hotel was amazing. Well decorated and clean everywhere from the lobby to the garage. The staff was friendly and courteous and attended to every need immediately and professionally. I also use a wheelchair and found the facility accessible and easy to navigate.
Hotel is nice. Room was adequate but a little on the older side. Parking wasn't included and is pricey. The restaurant in the lobby was good and reasonably priced. Would stay again.
Definitely more upscale than your average Holiday Inn very clean and tidy. The area has it's typical downtown bums. San Francisco spends over 200 million dollars a year for homeless, but it would be far more cost effective to have support in less expensive areas instead of encouraging them to move to expensive areas.
The shampoos are too small and they don't give you enough.
It is a comfortable hotel. It is good for the price. The only thing missing is to have hot water always!
Nice and Spotless hotel, too bad for the proximity to the nasty and dangerous neighborhood.
The rooms are very nice and the staff is very good. Breakfast very abbontante. Convenient location for Raghiingere center and airport, only flaws the presence of some homeless people from nearby neighborhoods.
Not the best Location… But however the Service desks are really nice and Respective and will do Anything to Make their Costumers happy and Satisfied. The rooms and sofa bed are really comfortable. The air conditioning circulates around the Room very fast. And the cleaning service comes like instantly. Me and my family left the Room for and Hour and came back it was Perfectly clean I loved it. Best San Francisco expierience ever.
Amazing experience. Stayed here while working at San Francisco this past week, and can only say positive things about this hotel. Staff is friendly and very knowledgeable, views are incredible, rooms are comfortable and have all necessary amenities, within walking distance to great food, shopping, and sights. Overall great stay.
Nice room. The outdoor pool was too nasty to swim in though. Beware that this hotel is in bum central. Just outside the hotel are the most homeless people you will ever see. Vomit, urine, and poop on the sidewalks. One bum urinated right in front of us in broad daylight with hundreds of people around right on the sidewalk. Do not walk around this hotel.
The front desk representative is very rude and not competent. She never ever maintain eye contact when talking. She (curly hair) was supposed to check in my room for 4 nights, but she Checked in my room for 2 nights. Horrible experience with the front desk. I hope nobody meets this representative soon enough.
I'm staying here for a little over a week and am very impressed by the quality of thier service and hotel rooms. The check-in process was very smooth and professional. I found the room spacious and well arranged. Nice view from thier top floors. There was a problem with my TV and they replaced it with a working one very quickly!
You can't beat the price and you get a clean comfortable no frills room. The gym is small but the equipment works. I stay here for the price and because it is convenient to the mid market area. If you are lookig for a swank bar to meer your friends with, go elsewhere. Its not really a place I'd like to hang out in.
Room was alright. Nothing terrible. The buffet in the morning though… Worse than juvenile detention food. And to think, people have to pay $21 for that? You're better off walking down to the Starbucks on 9th and Howard and getting a sandwich, or a diner on market.
This is our Hotel every time we visit! The staff is friendly, the beds comfortable and the 50onEight hotel eatery is delicious. For the price, excellent! Yes there are some homeless folks in the area, but they are around almost every hotel! This is San Francisco… It's part of the cities "charm". :-)
The rooms and amenities are fine, but the problems started before I ever checked in. Orbitz (my company was paying for my stay) glitched out and didn't pay for the room. So I fronted $300 for the first night. The problem of payment wasn't resolved the next day, so a second time, I authorized a $300 charge. The next morning I woke up to find that second charge was actually a $450 charge, and there was also a third charge for $750 that I DID NOT AUTHORIZE. Well, my company got payment squared away that day, and when I returned to the hotel that afternoon, I approached the front desk about releasing the charges they'd made, and I questioned the $750 fraudulent charge. I was told that not only would it take a few days for the fund release to clear my bank (which I understand, ordinarily), but they also would not even be able to start that process until after my stay was complete, EVEN THOUGH THE ROOM WAS FULLY PAID FOR AT THIS POINT. I was told there was no way to get that money back any faster, which is also false. I've had a situation like this before, and with the exchange of the proper approval codes for the release of funds, my bank is completely capable of and willing to releast my funds. I just have to call them and get bank personnel and hotel personnel to communicate this information. However, the manager, Rashid, was extremely rude.
The hotel itself is clean, nicely updated and the staff are friendly. If you just plan to take a cab and stay there and mostly stay in the hotel/get transportation from the front it's fine. But the area is very sketchy. Lots of bars on windows, trash on the street, broken car windows and an above-average homeless presence (though I haven't personally encountered any that have been agressive). It's a convenient location the the conference I'm attending but even at 6'5" tall and not skinny I don't feel that comfortable walking too far from the front doors.
The hotel is clean and most of the staff were friendly and helpful. The room was very basic without much frills. The pool is small and no hot tub which was disappoint ing for us. The hotel is near public transit which is very nice because you don't want to walk outside. The hotel in and near a bad area with lots of homeless people. If you plan on walking out to the piers or Union square be preaired for 10 minute uncomfortable/creepy walk. The location was are largest disappoint.
Excellent hotel. I loved everything about it. Efficient and friendly staff, quiet, clean and comfortable room, delicious buffet breakfast. What more could I ask?
Convenient location, and we found that it was very near the farmer's market! The rooms were clean, toilets were clean. Beds and pillows are very comfortable. Guest services was friendly and helpful.
For an inexpensive room it was clean and convienent. The lack of a mini-fridge was a bit annoying and avoid the restaurant down stairs. But free Wi-Fi and nice view where well worth the $140 a night price.
Stayed for 2 nights on early APR. Reception desk was kind and nice. Room was neat and clean. My room was on 4th Fl. Where opened to the rooftop and the out door pool. But the sliding door didn't slide nicely and the rooftop was not clean. BART station was close. But there was nothing around the hotel, feeling isolated. Whenever came in and out of the hotel, I had to come across with some people looked homeless. Yet to say reasonable for a budget trip.
The holiday inn is nice and affordable so i'd stay here.
Overall ok, it's a Holiday Inn so it does just fine as that. However 4 stars is generous. I was curious if it was going to be a 2 or a 3. Average rooms, scetchy locks on the sliding doors, nice lobby (must be where it's rating comes from).
Very good. Well-located. Rooms very correct. How critical very expensive parking. U$S 42 X day. It seemed to Me an abuse.
Very accommodating clean and modern room with pleasant front desk staff. Reasonably priced compared to other SF Hotels.
Good value for money. All comfortable and functional without frills.
Good hotel with good beds and clean rooms. We can not evaluate breakfast because we had breakfast at Sam Diner around the corner.
Pros — Breakfast was decent — Front desk, restaurant and bell-hop staff is friendly and helpful — Rooms are clean and comfortable — Close to rapid transit Cons — Nearby building construction woke me up at 2-4am every night for 5 nights. I was on the 12th floor and the construction didn't look like it was going to be completed anytime soon, However they did provide ear plugs in the room and an apology note, how nice. — Internet is a little slow — Room air conditioner seems to shut off if you aren't moving around, like when you're sleeping. No way to force it on, or even just the fan. — You won't get reward points for booking with IHG when going through a third party site, even though I paid a ridiculous last minute price for this room. Not so much for this hotel, but for IHG in general. — Location is a little rough, don't take Mission St. If walking, take Market instead.
I am a disabled person with a service animal. Holiday inn broke the law in requiring for my proof of disability. I was yelled at and treated like a second class citizen because of my service animal. Anyone who cannot provide reasonable accommodations or treats people with disabilities like I was treated should not be up and running.
For the rent they charged $295 per day experience was ordinary. Food is not so good. Staff can be more friendly. But hey it's SFO downtown.
Hotels in SF seem to be in some of the least pleasant neighbourhoods. Holiday Inn Civic Centre is no exception. Inside the rooms are basic and overall the place feels like it was once a much nicer venue. The staff however are superb: Friendly, helpful and attentive. If you want a place that is in the heart of downtown SF for a lower price point (by SF standards at least) then this is the place to go.
Good hotel, good location, attention regular, regular price bedroom clean and wide, regarding the vagabonds they don't kill or a butterfly, in a few words the hotel fulfills its mission perfectly.
Good room, but terrible front desk service. Ordered roll away bed came at midnight after multiple calls, no hot water, only warm water in the morning. Came back to front desk after to talk like adults and receptionist was rude rude rude.
Good place (*¯︶¯*)

I was curious if anyone was aware of the person at the Bei Hotel this afternoon who was standing outside the balcony; this person was contemplating ending their life and we were told after a while that we needed to clear out of the area because the traffic was getting dangerous (there were subsequent car accidents because of this, and a MASSSIVE group of bicyclists ended up creating a giant traffic jam) None of this matters, does anyone know if this person made it back inside the hotel? I am hoping and assuming so because not one single news article or post has mentioned this moment and it is important that this person received proper and gentle care after all of this. I don’t need a personal answer or response, but do not let this go unmentioned or unresolved. This happened.
