Really nice service so far but was super disappointed when I called 3 times if there was an adult pool as well as if they confirmed the reserved cabana and neither were true.

This place is awesome. Friendly staff, wonderful food, beautiful facilities.

Thoughtful is a great word to summarize the exceptional service provided by a friendly team. Small details showed genuine care which made me feel appreciated as a human and not just a customer. I arrived exhausted and left feeling refreshed. Thank you to all who made my visit pleasant.

A lot of the staff who worked here were rhude. From the concierge to main hotel and spa. Not the customer service you would expect from such a nice hotel. The valet was great, and the the Jewelry Class along with the teacher was phenomenal, she definitely made the experience worth while. There Massage is great quality, the stones are a nice touch but I am a bit bruised… Spa facilities were not kept up… toilet paper was out of the stalls, messes were left too long without cleaning especially in showers, other people’s dirty towels were in them while I took a shower. Robes weren’t replaced in empty lockers and was embarrassingly without one in a towel after my shower… finally found one in a closed locker out of at least 14 that were empty and since I arrived.

Amazing location with breathtaking views, beautifully landscaped gardens, the food and service are top notch! Highly recommend!

Good overall. However some employees can have better attitude. It reveals management may have leadership problem. Customer service does not represent this 5 star hotel unfortunately. Although most staff are nice and kind, but one 2 were rude, made the while experience have a flaw. A bit disappointed.

Great place to stay with excellent service.

Beautiful location, excellent amenities, outstanding service and wonderful selection of eateries. Had a recent stay which was thoroughly enjoyable, but beware of your belongings. If you forget ANYTHING, you will never see it again. My daughter forgot her charger cord in the room. And it was not recovered. Also a small gym bag with earphones and charger cords disappeared. Sad ending to an otherwise wonderful stay.

The food and service at Club 19 is outstanding. Highly recommended for a 5 star plus dining experience with a stunning view.

Absolutely beautiful place, we didn’t stay there but had dinner in the Bourbon Steak restaurant it was delicious and the service was wonderful couldn’t ask for anything better it was the best!

It has been days since I visited the Monarch Beach Resort, I still cannot stop thinking about the resort the location and the staff. The resort is immeasurably beautiful, the location gives views that are picture perfect. The entrance pulls you in to the crisp clean ocean views. The staff members we encountered are nothing more than ambassadors for the Monarch Beach Resort brand, the level of quality and service that work effortlessly welcoming you with exceptional courtesy. 9 of us all arrived at once to quench our parched thirst, naturally we all went straight to the bar. For a group of 9 people, highly attentive Andrew had all our drink prepared in seconds acknowledging all of us with his jovial personality and friendly smile, simply superb service. Thank you Andrew and I hope you are recognized for all your hard work. Our group decided on a patio seating arraignment, the views from any of the patio locations are strikingly beautiful, I could only imagine the sunsets get many people out on the many patios that are available. Both Kody and Valerie with their friendly and warm smiles helped to keep our drinks and snacks for nibbling flowing without us having to lift a finger, each time tactfully appearing seamlessly to provide their services. Within minutes I felt like I had been transferred from Orange County to a completely different world where every person of hospitality is working of the highest standards.

This is a beautiful course. It’s also very fun and challenging. I particularly like the hole with the ocean view. It’s very mesmerizing and yet relaxing to play with a gorgeous backdrop. The golf cart is wonderfully equipped with the GPS and helps identifying the yardage and green location of each hole.

The place is beautiful. The views are great. BUT we went during a holiday where we overcrowded to the point where they were capping the number of people that were going into the pool area. In addition to that — there were two pools — one of the pool areas was supposed to be adults only and the other was family friendly. There was an overflow of kids at the adult pool and splashing and screaming. Felt more like a kids resort. They offered us a more relaxing experience at the spa pool — but it was not in a good location and it was just a lap pool. It was disappointing enough that we left after being at the resort for less than 4 hours. Not the most relaxing getaway.

Exclusive. Valet parking. Exquisite outdoor patio or high end steakhouse in Tavern. Formal dining also. Decorations at Holiday time are worth seeing. Golf course best in the area. Panoramic views of Pacific. Great Chef. Delightful menu options. Won't disappoint but if you open your wallet.

I've stayed here many times before and had a great experience, however, that is when it was managed by a different company that put guests first and prided themselves on that. I came back for my girlfriends birthday and had a very different experience. First, we ate at the new restaurant Bourbon Steak, following dinner which we shared, we both got sick. Their response, "nothing we can do. " Next we booked a blow out at the dry bar, showed up and no "booking in the system. " After talking to many employees at the Hotel, finally got the manager, Ryan. His response, let me call the spa and see what I can find out. I explained they were the ones who transferred me to him, and he had the same response, nothing we can do. So at least I can tell their systems and staff training are working. There is nothing they can do. I would recommend staying at the Ritz Carlton in Dana Point. Not only do they say they provide a world class experience they actually back it up.

LOVED IT, LOVED IT, LOVED IT! Five Stars times a thousand. Beautiful facility with gorgeous views of the Pacific Ocean. Every room is meticulously designed and the housekeeping staff and the maintenance crew keep the rooms and property spotless and in excellent condition. The landscaping is gorgeous and is maintained beautifully by the maintenance personnel. I had an opportunity to have a massage in their incredible well appointed Spa. The Resort is located in a beautiful (as if there are anything but) section of Dana Point known as Monarch Beach. My wish is that every person on this earth have a stay at this beautiful Resort. Of course the cost of a stay is in line with the quality of this beautiful place. As a result, the expense is prohibitive for most of us. I was blessed to stay on behalf of my spouses employer. I'm so grateful to the company and humbled to be a recipient of such generosity. Folks, if you ever have the opportunity to stay at this marvelous Resort, don't bypass the opportunity — you'll forever regret your decision!

If you were to draw the most beautiful space to be in, it would look exactly like this. Plenty of room, beautiful architecture, huge fountains, colorful plants, spas, giant pool, next to lush green golf course and the ocean right behind it. Plus Immaculate service with amazing food. A very special place. It was an honor to be there.

We’ve been coming here for ten years as a family for vacation. It’s disappointing that after ten years, no one seems to know who we are. A truly upscale 5-star resort would be rolling out the red carpet for ten-year visitors. The decor is gets worse every year as changes keep being made with new ownership. Stick with a style and make it flow throughout the property, basic design theory. Finally, the prices go up every year and are ridiculous. $799 for a daytime cabana at… the pool? There’s a reason they are empty… they are too expensive and don’t provide enough value for the cost. $5000 for a private room at the main restaurant? Not even in NY would you pay this. Charging ridiculous prices to attempt to create an air of exclusivity is failing miserably. We’ve had many great memories at this property. We just aren’t certain we will be back.

I’ve loved this place for years. My husband took me here for our 1 year anniversary and it was wonderful. The things I didn’t like is the changes in decor to the Miraval theme. I’ve stayed at the Miraval in Az and loved it but this is a different experience. I am a designer but strangers with no design background were talking about it over cocktails. The new decor does not flow and especially in the main room off the hotel near the lobby. Everything is mismatched with no… flow. The urns as decor do not make it Asian theme and we joked they might be ashes of guests or ex employees. Changing the spa to Miraval was fine but the rest should have stayed more classic St. Regis.
There was a promotion too where we were supposed to get a free night with staying so many nights which was not reflected in our bill and I will look into that further. The staff was all wonderful and the rooms comfortable I wish they would get the beds they have in the Miraval in Az. Those are like clouds the most comfortable beds I’ve ever slept in. . Please don’t change the staircase in south hall with the marble inlaid butterflies in the floor because I will just cry. Over all I still love this place and would come back anytime even with some free design advice.

We had stayed at this property before when it was The St. Regis. We paid for a full Ocean view and got exactly what we paid for. Now it is The Monarch Beach Resort, after a reported $40 million renovation. We booked a full ocean view expecting to get what they advertised — but did not get it. I complained and wasted my breath. They did make some concessions but it was not enough to totally offset my disappointment. This was really false advertising. They advertise a full ocean view, but then give you a partial ocean view, which can only be viewed at certain angles from the balcony. And you have to be standing at that. The Manager was not helpful and we got a lot of talk but nothing happened. The whole experience clouded our 30th Anniversary. Whoopi! They gave us cheap champagne and Strawberries to celebrate. On the last day the safe jammed and they had to pry it open with a crow bar. So much for their 40 million dollars in renovations. Everyone else who worked there made a great impression. The food was fantastic. Our Anniversary dinner at Bourbon Steak House was outstanding. So yes there was good along with the bad. But at basically $1, 000 a night, there is no room for error.

Really nice hotel, the views of the golf course and beach are nice at sunset. Kids loved the pool, they have one just for them which is 6in to 3.6ft. Perfect for the little ones. The service was great especially by the pool, they set the chairs for us and for drinks in our hands in less then 5 :). Variety of food in the restaurants for kind of limited would really like to see more choices especially for the snacks part, but other than that it was great. Really enjoyed the early check-in and late check-out they offered for AMEX users.

Amazing course, great customer service. Took a while to play but enjoyed ourselves the whole way. Greens are fast, views are fantastic. Overall, very enjoyable round on a great course with lots of sand to play in.

Initial impressions were fantastic. Then we tried to go to the pool. We were told they were full and we'd have to wait. So, we did. Finally got a spot. Tried to order food and the whole system was a disaster. Totally disorganized and slow. It seemed like everyone working there was European, new to their job, and lacked the skills to communicate properly. Some guy dressed like a mobster seemed to be overseeing the operation, but not well. On our way back from the pool we saw a DYING RAT on the sidewalk. Disgusting. We had a garden room and had the doors open in the afternoon. Had to listen to kids playing games on the lawn… that was fine except the guy running the games was talking to the kids via a handheld Elmo puppet with the most ear piercing, obnoxious voice. It was terrible. If you're looking for an elite vacation experience you will get it in part here. It's lovely and the staff is super accommodating. You will have to deal with crowds and lots of kids — lots of kids… lots and lots of kids. I'm just not sure it's worth the price tag.

Crazy expensive crazy views crazy luxury crazy friendly service and the new Bourbon Steak Michael Mina restaurant is crazy delicious. The whole experience is crazy Mad excellent if you have money enjoy.

Unparalleled staff. Friendly, comfortable, and able to anticipate your needs. The rooms are beautiful and well appointed. Even the artwork on the walls is tasteful, inspiring and gives you a sense of home. A must see for personal vacation or corporate events. Also dog friendly (somewhat)!

Their is no words that l can that has been said of the resort extreme friendly and go out of there way to assist. I was disappointed with meal. Wow the way they resolved it was to make sure l was extremely satisfied. How many resorts would train their staff the priority goes to the guests. Kudos to management and staff.

The staff is friendly, professional and presentable at all times. They truly are the backbone of this beautiful resort. Plenty of scenic locations for wonderful pictures.

This is one of the greatest spots in dana point. The views are outrageous. The staff is super nice and very helpful. The only part that I did not like was that a water bottle cost me 7 dollars. Other the that, it is a great place. Hopefully next time I have more time to golf. I did see that they have GPS on all the golf carts. It was very cool. The ballrooms for meetings were also very large and beautiful.

Five diamonds are not enough for this wonderful resort! You will feel like royalty at this fantastically beautiful resort. The customer service is top notch.

This hotel is beautiful! It was just recently renovated, and looks amazing. I have been here a couple times, and the service only gets better! They have a free shuttle to the beach, which is also convenient.

The annual holiday luncheon for my company was held at the Monarch Beach Resort. The resort is beautiful. The holiday decor was stunning. The staff was friendly and very professional. The property was very all manicured and the event room was comfortable, spacious and clean. The food was beyond excellent. We had a very enjoyable and memorable time at the resort.

We visited monarch beach resort for a wedding. The grounds were beautiful and well kept. The ballroom was a generous size and staff was extremely friendly. The only minor downside to this was the location of the bathroom in relation to the ball room. Otherwise had a great time.

For a work finance related conference. Food was great. Hotel was really beautiful. Valet parking was fairly quick. At one point they did manage to run out of beer in the bar, but managed to restock within the hour. Bring sunglasses!

Room was amazing. Beautiful bathroom with TV speakers piped into toilet. Bed was incredibly comfortable. Lots of special touches. Beautiful pool. Room service was slightly lacking. Overall a very nice stay.

I will admit, I thought my stay was for the most part amazing. I had Room 538 in the North wing facing the pool and the view was Immaculate, of the grand lawn and the main pool area. Speaking of the pool, it was a beautiful area, with 3 hot tubs and 2 large pools, however the pool got very crowded. I found the food to be fine, however I wish there were more breakfast options. I also found that oftentimes I could hear outdoor events because there is a large patio to the side of the main lawn. And finally, the only reason I am apprehensive about staying here again is the price. This was not a cheap hotel, combined with flight costs overall this was an expensive, albeit very serene vacation. Would stay again, if only the prices were a bit lower. But, You get what you pay for for the most part.

We stayed for our anniversary but no one told us there were renovations going on and we couldn't use any of the spa facilities. We did go to the restaurants which were fine — overpriced for the quality of food, cerviche was canned seafood with tomato sauce — terrible. With no response from the feedback form I filled out when we left, I wrote the publicist and received a gift voucher in the mail for two nights stay — what I did not realize is the gift voucher expired so I tried to use it and I was told it expired — and also the hotel has changed its name to the Monarch and will not extend the voucher. Their idea of customer service is atrocious and it is not worth spending your hard earned money there. Go somewhere that appreciates customer loyalty. This hotel is pretentious because they spent on extravagant upgrades but they lack in food quality, customer service and overpriced spa treatments.

Our stay was great but we ended up at the Monarch Bay beach club for some beach time. Got there at 4pm but there was no more towels, and no one available to help us. Other than that the staff was great and our stay was pleasant.

Beautiful property and friendly staff, for the most part. My wife and I booked this for our honeymoon but no one told us they had a conference going on at the same time. Some of the restaurants were closed on certain nights because of "private events". They advertise live jazz music on Thursday evenings and even sent us a text message that afternoon reminding us to "join them" for live music. When we arrived there was no music and they said it was a "system error" and it wasn't busy enough to have live music. Could've been a nice family trip but pretty disappointed for a honeymoon.

5 nights of mediocrity. The only difference between this hotel and the Holiday inn is the view. Most staff couldn't care less about guests and failed to act when issues were brought to their attention. Shower temperature would fluctuate from luke warm to scalding hot without touching the knob. The towels feel like 200 grit sand paper. Bathroom sink would hardly drain. I pre-ordered room service to be delivered at 6:00 AM on my last day and when the time came they said they had no record of my order and didn't seem to understand why this was an issue. Great way to start a full day of travel. 0/10 would not go back.

Went for the Spa and Tea Time and was very memorable. The staff is very accommodating and super friendly! It was my first time going, the money was completely worth it, and it was such a relaxing day after a long work week.

This venue is one of my favorite venues to photograph weddings! As you can tell it's such a beautiful resort and the staff was wonderful to work with. Everyone is so helpful!

From the moment we arrived this hotel and its staff have been exceptional. Any desire is responded to immediately. I would recommemd this resort to amy of my friends. If you are questioning if you would like to come stay, the answer is yes. One negative… The self parking lot is small and full almost 100% of the time. Which forces you to pay for valet parking. On that bright side, it was only 5 dollars more a day for valet parking than self parking this weekend. Which in my opinion is worth every penny. Enjoy your stay. I know I have enjoyed mine.

High end hotel beautifully decorated. Extremely clean, very comfortable beds, huge bathrooms, great pool and rest areas, great selection of spirits. Very friendly staff. Would definitely go back again!

Excellent Resort Very conventional.

Fantastic resort and amazing golf course. However, don't expect easy access to the beach. The property is located quite a distance away. Fortunately there is a resort shuttle service that can take you down there. Our room was very nice. Resort staff comes twice a day: once to tidy up your room and once in the late afternoon/evening to prepare your bed for bedtime. Resort food is expensive — — would recommend taking the trolley to nearby Dana Point for local restaurants.

The reviews here definitely live up to it's hype. I can be an SPG snob from time to time, because I absolutely love the service you get at any of their hotels. We came here for a wedding and I was completely blown away by the hotel grounds, the service and the ambiance and attention to detail. The staff was very friendly without overbearing you. Everyone had a smile on their face and catered to any need you had. The grounds were absolutely stunning! I was in complete awe at how well maintained it looked and how beautiful it was to have such a special event here. Definitely plan on coming back for a visit soon!

The staff was helpful and friendly as always. The pool area was under construction, so our view was of dirt and concrete. This greatly devalued our experience. The buffet has decreased in value, we chose not to partake this time due to reduced quality.

Enjoyed recently renovated guest rooms and excellent service. The pools and lawn were unfortunately under construction, but we would nevertheless visit again to see the results. The outdoor patio area is particularly pleasant, with numerous fireplaces and heat lamps burning into the night. Very beautiful! Food and drink are expensive — be prepared for $10 beers, $30 entrees.

When we went to the St. Regis Monarch Beach hot, it was under construction. That said, the rest of the hotel was gorgeous and the staff was extremely polite and hospitable. The room we stayed in was comfortable and had a small pateo area to enjoy the weather. Parking was valet, $40, but was half off due to construction. It seemed mandatory, but we heard there was self-parking. Wifi was free due to the construction, but normally you must pay. Room service was expensive. Watch out for mandatory in-room dining fee in addition to the delivery fee. The hamburger we had ordered wasn't particularly worth the cost, but the dessert was delicious. Despite expense, the overall experience was great. We'd love to return sometime.
