This is about our 6th 7th year in a row (except 2020) that we have made this magnificent hotel our home away from home! As “fru fru “as people might think (the hotel is MAGNIFICENT! And the views are ABSOLUTELY AMAZING)! It’s that down to earth and we have gotten to know MANY of the staff, especially Troy, adding Alex to a new member, just met him this last visit, he fits right in, Diane&Sureenan also, All of these folks, who are like visiting old friends or family, along with the Manager Rachel Funk& the front desk staff truly one of the best hotels top 3 of all our years of travel, 30+ business & pleasure. We will continue to visit as often as we can.

Nice resort! Very expensive but we had a convention rate. We arrived on a foggy day but things cleared up and the ocean view was beautiful. Excellent restaurant with an ocean view on premises. Top tier fitness room. Excellent conference rooms for large meetings. Will be back.

Unhelpful staff, unfriendly restaurant employees, lots of guests without masks and the guest rooms are very dated. Definitely not like other Ritz Carltons in California.

Everyone in the hotel are very friendly, helpful and attentive. Raya restaurant has a great staff named Joel. He is a gem.

First night was so-so, had 1st floor room on backside of service elevator. 2nd night :/ I know it's the beach, but had to change rooms due to mildew — BUT they were helpful about it, brought candle til we could get moved. The final room was the best — super comfortable garden room. Staff are always friendly and helpful. Menus need a little help, BUT FOOD IS Good! The inside cafe is good too, but they need to improve the latte flavor and fill cup to the top!

Attended a wedding at this fine establishment. Luxury venue. The food and beverages on display were out of the top drawer. The staff were always readily on hand to assist with our every needs. Looking forward to spending more time in one the opulent rooms. Incredibly impressed. Highly recommended. 5 stars all round!

Of course the Ritz Carlton always lives up to it's name. They have wonderful service and amenities. I wanted to leave this review for Dyanne, at The Market Place because I felt like she had gone above and beyond. We just wanted a snack but couldn't find anything that fit what we wanted. She simply asked what we would like. We figured out that we just wanted apples, peanut butter and cheese. She said "I can do that! " She pointed us towards the cheese and peanut butter and slipped into the back to grab a few apples. She came back with crackers too. She even cut up the apple into pieces and made it all look very nice. She was just so kind and we were both very happy with our custom made snack that was just exactly what we wanted. We do not frequent the Ritz Carlton. We were here with a conference, but it makes me want to come back.

This hotel is a great place to stay if you don't mind spending the extra cash that comes with a night here. The facilities are high end and the staff are very kind. The location is spot in steps from the beach and if that's too much there is even a shuttle that takes you up or down the path. With easy connections to public transportation such as the Laguna Beach trolley (Summers and weekends during off season) and the Dana point trolley (summer) it's simple to get around and explore far past the reaches of the hotel grounds (did I mention they're both free? ). In the end it's a great resort and I highly recommend it.

Beautiful hotel and grounds. Very friendly staff. Requested coastal view from room and it did not disappoint. Only drawback was that special events were held right outside our room during our 4 day stay, kinda took away from great view. Spent a morning at the spa and afternoons at the pool. Plenty to do without having to leave the grounds. Only con was that housekeeping was a little slow on daily service. We had to request service twice to be completed. Wonderful get-a-way.

My wife and I stayed here for our 12th Anniversary. We were blown away by the entire experience! Justine was responsible for checking us in. She was great. She was very engaging and provided awesome local recommendations. She even upgraded our room. Plus, later that night we received a personal card from Justine and a tray of chocolate covered strawberries for our anniversary. Wow! Nice touch. The property is phenomenal as well. The coastal views are absolutely breathtaking. We will definitely make plans to come back as soon as possible.

Amazing views of Pacific Ocean, a Luxury on top of the hill overlooking a half of Orange County Coast. Nice restaurants with spectacular ocean views. Famous English Tea Thursdays. Fire pits at night, spacious rooms.

This property is a gem of hotels, located adjacent Laguna Niguel coastline. They have fresh flowers in the lobby and throughout the property that are absolutely gorgeous, that staff is very attentive and helpful. I'm only slightly disappointed by the menu for the pool deck, but my wife and I took food from the Market Cafe and brought it to the pool. We have a Ritz-Carlton anniversary card so we're able to valet and receive a discount on any items ordered from the hotel. Ample food options and incredible view of the coastline and adjacent park.

If you are after Ritz Carlton experience, look elsewhere. The rooms are nice, but the walls are way too thin — reminds me of my stays in Hampton Inn — you can hear almost everything that is happening next door or in the hallway. Housekeeping can improve; it seems that cleaning staff is allergic to running a vacuum cleaner in the room. If you are booking this as award travel, you will at least get to brag about staying at the Ritz. If you are spending your own money, you should probably check out Marriott resort down the road — you will get better bang for your dollar.

Extraordinary a marvel of hotel.

Outstanding in all ways — the room was very comfortable, the view of Salt Creek Beach is breathtaking. The swimming pool and spa are wonderful and open around the clock. There is coffee in the lobby at 5:00 am. Everything has been considered and approached in the most creative and relaxing way. What a wonderful getaway!

This Ritz location is one of a kind, the view I mean. It's incredibly gorgeous & can be seen from several spots within. Sexy & romantic place stays open for late cocktails or a coffee.

This was my first stay here. My wife and I absolutely love this place. We spent a few days at the Ritz Carlton before staying at the Montage. Both resorts are absolutely wonderful. I would suggest either one to anyone. If you stay here I would suggest the Steakhouse, so good. I order key lime pie for desert. They did not have it and they made some small sampler with gold flakes. It had real gold flakes, never thought I would eat gold.

Beautiful place with ocean view. Attended a wedding ceremony there. It left a lifetime impression. Food was delicious. Steak was so tender, delicious. Felt like bitting into a butter cube. All the juices were there.

This review is long overdue. We stayed for two free certificate nights in early October 2017 and had a wonderful time, not only because of the beauty of the property but the outstanding customer service of the staff, especially Brendan from the front desk. I'm a gold Ritz member and Brendan showed he appreciated our loyalty by waiving our parking and resort fees and making us feel very welcome. We would most definitely hire him if we needed someone in customer care or management.

An amazing resort. I've stayed at several 5 star resorts and I have to say this one is probably one of, if not, my very favorite. The grounds are perfectly manicured and insanely beautiful. The golf course is amazing, and of course the pool is to die for and the service was amazing.

The hotel is on a beautiful property and the hotel public areas are great. The rooms are very similar to a few years ago and may be due for an update. The service is excellent, as expected, and the pool and beach area are unparalleled. The hotel is also great for professional events. I have been here a couple times bow and always look forward to returning. This is overall a fantastic hotel.

This place has some stunning views… But I've had better in room amenities at holiday Inn… Better customer service at holiday Inn too. I showed up here for check in at 4 p. M. And was told that they didn't have any rooms ready. My room has a really cheap old drip machine coffee maker. When I saw the service Personnel servicing other rooms, I asked if they had a better coffee maker, and I was told that they don't. You think that when they charge $1, 200 a night for a room, they might be able to afford a better coffee maker. Or that they might even be able to get their rooms clean in time for when a guest shows up in the late afternoon. I'm very disappointed in the service here. This is a Ritz-Carlton for crying out loud. But if you want absolutely stunning views you can certainly see some of the pictures that I took.

Nice views of the surf, sunsets and mountains. The area is very inviting and easy to find things to do. The first floor of the hotel is nice after that the rooms are average. Built in 1984 long hallways to get to your room and if your not in upgrade room with ocean view you are looking at plants and palm trees. Food is good at all places; drinks are good generous pours. Location can’t be beat. It is nice it’s a Ritz. Not the best Ritz.

I have stayed at this Ritz-Carlton about 7 different times for Mayo Clinic conferences held over the past decade. I have stayed at many premier resorts and luxury hotels around the globe in fact, and this Ritz certainly follows suit with the finest in the world. Compared to other Ritz-Carltons, this is more family-friendly (thinking about the Ritz in London), but that does not diminish the prestigious standards of the Ritz experience here at the Laguna-Niguel location. From their gorgeous and aromatic floral arrangements in the lobby (which should rotate in concept at least once upon your stay) to their trademark white marble baths, or the breathtaking Dana Point Beach to the first-class pool, spa, and gym facilities, The Ritz-Carlton at Laguna Niguel will be an unforgettable experience — and don't be afraid to take the whole family with you!

For its great beauty attention and view to the sea.

Aging hotel in a gorgeous location. The standard rooms aren't anything special, and the white marble in the compact bathrooms seems dated. (Might be different if you stayed in a suite — — don't know. ) The restaurants are super pricey (expect a 2x price differential). Saving grace: the views of the ocean and beach below, as well as Orange County's superb weather.

I just began a five night stay w oceanfront room. Facility beautiful. Service deplorable. Guaranteed late check 10 hours of travel 30 minutes late. Thereafter service at bar lounge incredibly slow right after long wait to get room key. Only accomplished that by giving concierge desk 30 bucks cause registration line was again so long. This a m out of breakfast for 3, they forgot one breakfast. No water w breakfast — maybe give water situation was supposed to ask. Fire pit w view of water which was high point didn’t work cause it’s gas and you need a lighter. No instruction given. Who carries a lighter. Valet situation ridiculous. I almost never post reviews but this is ridiculous for a several thousand dollar stay.

I went to Raya for a brunch for my birthday. The food was great. The service was not great. They always served food when we still had plates waiting to be taken. We were hardly ever asked how we were doing. The only saving Grace was us finding a fly in one of our coffee and they comped us a meal because our waitress was no where to be found.

We were invited to a work party. We were fed excellent food: appetizers, rolls, salad, main course and desserts that were so delicious. They did a good job keeping us warm during an otherwise cold California night too. Great atmosphere, location and view with reasonable nearby parking.

Restaurant was delicious. Room was impeccable. Loved the pools and ocean access. Professional accommodations for events were wonderful as well. Staying at the Ritz-Carlton Laguna Niguel made my work event feel like a vacation.

My husband and I stayed over this past thanksgiving holiday weekend. I told the manager that I had to wash the scuffs all over the walls myself, ask for rugs to cover the rust in the restroom floor, change the chaise because it had a hole and missing button. When we all went to the pool on friday around 4pm, everything looked like a mess. All the used towels all over, food from previous people all over, I mean i've never seen such a mess at a resort hotel like this. It was such a mess, I had to grab my own towels and create our own space for comfort. I saw two managers and told them, (after another visitor mentioned the same thing to me) to please clean the mess for us and they said, 'ok' and just left with nothing done. When finally I see one girl picking up after I complained I asked her what happened here and she said that they are short staffed. At a hotel like yours, I don't expect this kind of service. It was like spending the weekend at a second rate hotel. I must say, the customer service in other areas was great and the food was great but not happy with the surrounding items just listed. Not sure if you will ever make changes here but it really makes you look bad. We have a lot of followers and its not good for them to hear this. Thought I would share this with you. Incredible experience. Just stopped in for drinks but it was wonderful. Beautiful hotel, the staff was super. The bar was not as expensive as I was expecting.

For being a Ritz Carlton I was highly disappointed. Views are great and the food is good (yet overpriced because of the name but I'll accept that). The rooms are outdated. Bathroom floors and corners were dirty. Carpeting is old. In room entertainment is out dated. My Laguna trip was followed up with a stay in Denver at AC Marriott which was may more accommodating and modern than the Ritz… and have the price. I also found the nightly "resort" fee to be a bit of a waste when your stay is in the cooler months when you can't even enjoy the resort fee amenities. I will say the staff was lovely however unfortunately I will not be returning to this specific Ritz. Such a bummer.

This place is gorgeous with an incredible view of the beach and the ocean. The staff, as always at the Ritz, provide the most incredible service. I really like how the different gathering areas were separated from each other giving you the sense that you/your group are the only ones there.

It really is shocking to leave a two star review for a Ritz-Carlton property but in this caseI think it is merited. Firstly, let me tell you what is good about the property. The location and the staff. He is off the charts amazing. However, they have let the property go to a point where I think the only way you can describe it is that it looks tired. You can look in corners of the door jams and see dirt or peeling paint. Something you might expect for another hotel and not think much of it but for a Ritz-Carlton property it is really unheard of. I was only here for a da I made an appointment with the spa for a 30 minute massage. The masseuse was excellent however when I went to shower, one of the two showers was not working and the other one remaining only served lukewarm water. There’s nothing worse than taking a warm shower. I was standing there naked wondering whether I should just do it or go back all the way to the room. I like the latter. I let both the assistant know and the supervisor. I made it clear that I thought the experience was horrible. Nevertheless, they presented me with the bill for the massage for $300 including recommend a 25% gratuity. It being on a beach property is meaningful to you then I have a recommend this place but if being on a Ritz-Carlton getting the service she would expect I would avoid this. There are other examples I can get but this is enough for you to know.

We are loving our stay at this luxurious resort. The staff are so professional and so very accommodating. They greet you and ask how they can help. There are bouquets of gorgeous flowers throughout. The view from our balcony is a stunning view of the ocean. We feel very pampered and very welcome.

Perhaps best beachfront location under Marriott umbrella. They even have shuttled access and beach butler, unlike Half Moon Bay property. That said, the property is old and it is showing its age. Some not so graceful (old carpeting in rooms, etched marble bath where gunk accumulates over time) while others are still in enjoyable condition. Gets crowded during the weekend w parties and receptions.

Excellent service and unbeatable views. Get to breakfast early for a good table and make sure to have a drink at the bar. Platinum recognition: waived resort fee, $30 per person/per day in breakfast credit, late check out.

You cannot ask for better service; it just doesn't exist. The rooms are very nice, the resort is beautiful, and the staff goes out of their way to make you feel welcome. If anything fails to exceed your expectations, they will work hard to make it right. The views are amazing from the ocean front and coastal view rooms. The fireside rooms are cool, but ground level so the view is not quite as spectacular. The extra touches and staff who remember you really make it a special place to stay. We ate at all of their restaurants, and they are all world class. I don't think you will be disappointed.

Ate on the veranda overlooking the beach. Amazing food and service. Great place to go and eat even if you're not staying at the property. People are very nice and the valet is very quick and polite. Highly recommend.

I enjoyed drinks and lunch on the terrace at the Ritz. Service was slow at first, but picked up quickly. The waiter was attentive and friendly. I was with my infant son and my mother. There was no issue with my son remaining in his stroller while we dined, which was very nice. However, the hotel lobby bathrooms are not baby friendly. There are no changing tables and changing him on a decorative metal dresser is less than ideal, let alone not very safe. I hope the Ritz reads this and adds a fold-down changing table to their restroom stall. A simple fix to make families feel more welcome at their hotel.

I attended a wedding here and the location was wonderfully scenic and beautiful. We had a great time walking on the beach and looking out onto the water. It was also a lovely venue for a wedding. My one complaint would be that the only bathrooms available to us required passing through an extremely crowded hallway where a buffet had been set up for some other event the hotel hosted. I don't mind sharing a bathroom with other events but it was frustrating to have to make my way through an enormous crowd while dressed up and in heels.

Do not stay at this hotel. Staff is awful. Managers are rude and have the worst customer service. McClinton Hile and Crystal Shaw were extremely rude and did not help me at all or even try. INFACT they both gave me huge attitudes and hung up on my twice because the GM wasn't there to deal with me and they didn't want too. They made us cancel our entire Honeymoon. We booked this trip 2 months ago and the day we arrive they tell us we have to pay $500 a night when we booked our room for $251. We called the Marriott customer service number 2 months ago and asked how we get my mother in laws discount. The man walked me though and I booked our room. I also booked 2 other rooms in Orlando at the Grand Bohemian and Ritz Carlton and we have not one problem. We fly to California and the day of my honeymoon they are rude, threaten my mother in laws job, and not even try and help us once. AWFUL HOTEL TERRABLE STAFF DO NOT STYA HERE ESPECIALLY FOR A BIG OCCASION, unless you want them to cancel your room too and tell you that you need to pay double than the price the customer service man advised us. Thanks for ruining our honeymoon ritz carlton dana point the day we flew in!

We went to Bar 180 for a night cap. While the setting and view were breathtaking, the cost for three average quality cocktails was high. That's the price one pays for ambiance overlooking the Pacific Ocean. Excellent choice for out of town guests or a romantic evening just be prepared for the "sticker shock"; one glance at the amazing scenary will help loosen your wallet.

Incredible view of the ocean — don't miss RAYA for breakfast or lunch and their spectacular nearly roof-top bar, 180BLU. Prepare to be mesmerized!

If you have the money, this is a great place to stay. I was fortunate enough to hang out with some Hollywood types, who stayed there for several days, and let me come by whenever. The food was great, as was the service.

I love this hotel so much that my husband and I got marries her all the way from Chicago! There's something about the staff at the Ritz Carlton that will always go above and beyond to make sure you're satisfied!

Disappointed with the service compared to other Ritz properties I stay at. The staff are slow to respond to requests and the room staff are noisy in the hallways. I got stuck behind a guy pushing a cart in the hallway. He wouldn't make room for me to pass by. Frustrating to walk behind a slow moving person for two minutes.

Excellent view. The facility is amazing. The staff was so professional and well presented. The valley was super professional and polite.

Excellent customer service throughout, rooms are well appointed, though ours did not have the greatest of views. The shuttle service to a nearby resturant was a pleasant surprise and saved us waiting around for a taxi or Uber. As to be expected, this is the Ritz and though they stay was just fine, it is quite expensive.
