Clean and ambiance is great to spent with family.

Rooms advertised online have different style tubs than what's actually in the room. Concierge really grumpy and can't even reciprocate a good morning when calling them for something.

Pet friendly. Really nice staff.

I brought my golden retriever. She was welcomed and at a great price.

The place and rooms are. Dry clean. The bed was comfortable. The bathroom was large and had s large jacuzzi type tub. It was very nice after a long day of walking around. The tub is large so save water by bathing with a friend. The location is great. It’s a short walk to Dana Point Marina and Doheney Beach. We used it as our launch point to Catalina. It’s also very close to other sights like San Juan Capistrano. The people are also great. Professional, friendly, and courteous. We were accommodated when we had to change plans and when we forgot something in the room we had it waiting for us later that day.

Nice suites close to the beach eyes view 4min walk.

Good prices. Interiors are a little run down. Breakfast and coffee were good. So close to the beach and harbor and the staff is friendly and helpful. Champagne was waiting in our room upon arrival for our anniversary weekend. Such a lovely gesture. I would stay here again.

Booked a king bed suite with a pullout sofa in the living room area for a family of 4 for 1 night. The hotel room was roomy for us. Breakfast foods were good — sausage link, hashbrown, pancake, eggs, etc. Really friendly and helpful staff at check-in, out, and dining area. We enjoyed our stay! Only quibbles are pretty tight parking spaces and a small dining area (admittedly, we were there at breakfast around 9a, so probably peak hour).

The rooms were really nice. Beds are fairly comfortable. Crew on staff are very friendly. Hotel is walking distance to the beach and very close driving to other beaches. Had a great visit with the family. Will definitely visit again.

This hotel is fantastic! Manger found us a room after a hotel in Laguna Beach lost our reservation, we called the Best Western Marina Shores Hotel. The manger found us a room, and when we told him it was our 36 wedding anniversary he upgraded us to a king suite at no extra charge he even gave us free parking! Wow we really love this place and appreciate the extra effort that the manger made to make our stay absolutely fantastic! Thank you for such a wonderful experience.

Good hotel for the price. Free breakfast in the morning. Eggs toast, cereal, oatmeal, juice stuff like that. Rooms are decent size. Very friendly staff. My only complaint is the pool is very tiny and the pool area literally only has four chairs. Otherwise definitely a good hotel really close to the beach.

Stayed in the Best Western in Dan Point. We found it very clean and that worked there were very polite. Breakfast was great. A happy client from Palm Desert.

Have stated here previously so were happy to stay here again.! This is a very clean, tidy motel with very friendly and helpful staff. The breakfast is more than ample with a great selection of brekkie foods. Thanks Best Western at Dana Point for another relaxing and great stop. We'll be back!

We stayed in a suite while in CA for a wedding. The room was very comfortable, and had a lot of room. The bathroom had a jacuzzi tub, a sink and a separate vanity table, with toilet and shower in a separate room. Very clean and the staff was extremely friendly and helpful. We enjoyed the conversation with the breakfast staff. (Free breakfast, which was pretty good). Location was walking distance to Dana Point, with many different shopping areas, restaurants and grocery store very close by. I would definitely stay again!

Great Best Western hotel. Very comfortable, clean rooms, some with ocean views and balcony, some with a large jacuzzi tub. Their 2 queen beds with sofa slerper sleeps 5 quite well and has a little wet bar, counter and mini fridge. Property is well maintained. Staff is welcoming and always very nice. Walk to beach and harbor ~ 15 — 20 min. Free breakfast has nice options — hot and cold foods. Plenty of places to walk to eat. Can catch trolley a few mins away when running. Small pool is never crowded, would be nice if they added a jacuzzi, but cool way to end day at beach. Highly recommend this hotel. Family friendly, and other guests are always pleasant.

Our rooms were very clean and nice. Got two adacent rooms and both had a whirlpool bath. Breakfast was good not great but got the job done. Good location, very close to marina and across the street practically from the beach. No actual view of ocean from our room but we faced away from it.

The Best Western Marina Shore hotel is comfortable, well located, and clean — — with a terrific breakfast and friendly staff. The parking/lobby/entrance was a little confusing. We arrived late and I appreciated the coffee (decaf) being available, the bag for Best Western rewards members, and the comfy quiet room. We would like to come back another time and stay longer.

Family wedding in Dana point April 2018. Hotel was perfect for the 20 of us! Location was excellent! Rooms were great! Beds were wonderful. Staff could not be more helpful and always greeted us coming and going! Well done! Thanks again.

Clean and safe. The staff went above and beyond to make our stay comfortable. Very helpful when we had to find restaurants or other local amenities with our group.

Nice place to stay with breakfast. People are friendly here. However, my son left his IPad on the bed and we called the hotel when we find out at night. Lucky the staff found it, and we can get it back! Big thank to them.

Nice place downtown. Had a nice free breakfast with lots of choices. Staff was very pleasant.

Pros: Convenient location; clean; comfortable room and bed; much better view of the ocean than expected; rate was ok considering the location and competition. Cons: Noisy traffic (ear plugs were provided) ; one of the reasons I reserved this hotel was because of the swimming pool, but it was closed, and we were not notified before we reserved or even during check-in; breakfast food was poor quality, but there are good off-site breakfast restaurants nearby. I would reserve this hotel again only if I got an exceptionally low rate. Also, I would call in advance for the status of the swimming pool.

My daughter and family recently rented for an entire week Feb. 2018. They had their reservation for several months, when I learned the pool was under construction. The Manager, Mr. Callan, was most helpful in allowing our family to have a suite room with an ocean view. This made their stay much more comfortable and enjoyable, since the pool was not yet completed. Great customer service!

I feel like one of the most important things to judge a hotel on has to be "hospitality" as it literally defines the industry. The staff here were very good! I forgot my cell phone charger and one of the guys at the front desk lent me his personal charger to get me by through the night until I could get a replacement. The room was quite nice and clean! It was very well laid out and well appointed. The bed was a little uncomfortable and felt stiff to me (but my wife thought it was great). The breakfast is where it lost me. The breakfast buffet was pretty horrible… the "eggs" were not appetizing at all. I got excited because they had a pancake maker there (I've never seen that! ) but the pancakes had a rubbery consistency to them. My recommendation: walk across the street to stacks! That place was amazing.

The staff at this hotel were very nice and accommodating. We were very tired from driving across country and then all night. They allowed us to check in early at 7 A. M. The rooms are nice. The breakfast is healthy. Great view of the ocean!

Amazing staff, super comfortable bed, and a surprising number of amenities add to the value. At check we giving the option between a street facing room or a hill facing room for more quiet accommodations. We took the street facing room and never heard a peep of noise. One of the most relaxing hotels I have ever stayed in. Would stay again.

I love staying at the Best Western Hotels as I love the staff, the price is reasonable except in summer, that is in California. I have been staying at the Casablanca in San Clemente, CA for over 10 years and now I love the Dana Point Best Western because it's by the harbor and within walking distance to many shops.

My friend & I were very comfortable, as seniors we tend to be cold and requested extra blankets which were promptly supplied. The breakfast was far better than expected and all services were great. I would return & send friends.

This hotel is a great value. Rooms are very nice for the price — especially from an amenity standpoint. The hot breakfast is extremely good. The location is excellent — within walking distance of harbor and many restaurants.

I really liked it! All the attention the cleanliness the breakfast and above all the heating x Q outside a whole bank D fog! When you drove, you could only see the car d across. You arrive with GPS in that case with much difficulty were seen signs D notice to leave the way (in winter)

My husband, granddaughter and I all caught the stomach flu 3 days after check in. Including ER, Medication costs and a spoiled Christmas visit with our children after not seeing our son for 3 years. We asked for late check out to allow time to get our granddaughter to a doctor and gather our things. We were told the hotel was booked and to get out as quickly as possible. Then upon check out, 2 separate hotel staffers told us that several employees were sick and had come to work over the past several days. We were NEVER warned, notified or told if this until we were leaving your facility, so ill it became hard to function. Too tired to exhibit our shock & dismay. The man who came from an office behind the front desk tried to hush the situation by blowing off the severity of the situation. Jerk. Another issue-being so ill; vomiting and diarrhea, we used EVERY towel and washcloth availabile. Asked for more. Asked for the room to be cleaned and disinfected. Rude and very slow response. Also, some of the lights didn’t work. One lamp had a loose bulb fitting, like it had fallen over. Asked for repair. NOPE! Didn’t happen over our 10 day stay! Oh! One more thing! We stayed at Marina Shores last year and the smoke alarm kept going off. Dead battery. Night desk person was an older woman and the ONLY staff there late at night. She ended up taking the desk chair and putting it on the bed to try to take the detector down. Nope. She fell!

Clean and decent place to sleep if you need a place in this area. Not a great morning meal, but not inedible nor inadequate. The staff though was very friendly and nice. The pool was drained and the staircase closed on that side which was an annoyance, especially if you end up coming in late and your car parks to that side and is under your room. You have to walk to the opposite side and back again. Would have been nice if they closed to pool but kept stairs usable.

Really friendly staff, beautiful, well-cleaned rooms, an amazing free breakfast every morning, high-quality Wi-Fi, great pool, and just an all-around nice place to be. Probably one of the best hotels I’ve stayed at.

We enjoyed our stay very much. I must say that the breakfast staff was awesome. They were so friendly and helpful.

Where do I start… We stayed there a total of 3 nights, the first night a naked person kept knocking at our door between 2 and 3am. When we spoke to the front desk they let us know that the person was later arrested. The following day I was relaxing by the pool and a bum jumps the fence in to the pool area and says "he's not going to hurt me, not today at least… Paused and said wait what's today? ". Needless to say I was terrified. We travel a lot, and usually stay at Best Westerns. But they fall very short in the safety department. They offered us points, and laughed off the bum… Because they know him. One of the staff members were very helpful with suggestions on what to do with a 5 year old. Thanks Barbie. We were freaked out otherwise.

Location, Location, Location combined with an efficient and caring staff made our stay exceptional. When we needed a microwave it was immediately delivered to our room. Tamara in the breakfast area was a delight with a caring and positive attitude. Loved our stay!

3.5 stars. Decent for the price. Clean. Nice staff. Thin walls. Could hear my neighbors shower and the dogs across the hall bark.

We were greeted with a smile, had a quick check in and were given a small gift bag with snacks and water! Can you imagine not having to pay $6 for a bottle of water if you didn’t bring your own!? It’s the small things people. That small kindness and friendly service will bring me back. Thank you!

This is hands down the best Hotel in Orange County. The staff are second to non, room are big, clean, safe a newly remodel. The rate are great and the property is wonderful.

Excellent location with close proximity to the beach, very clean hotel with warm and friendly staff plus all hotel amenities were in good working order. One of the beds matresses seemed a little worn out and in need of replacement but nothing to stop a good night's rest.

A really nice hotel with an excellent effort by staff to be as nice as possible. The breakfast is pretty much the standard BW breakfast, but staff keeps it well supplied and lets people get food even after the official end of breakfast. Rooms are very clean and renovated. Overall, a good value and nice stay.

The room my wife and I stayed in was very big with two seperate areas (living room and bedroom). The room was very clean, and a big plus: had a jacuzzi tub! The only downfall was the patio. It was a little small with only one chair, and the traffic on pch that is easily heard. But no biggie! 5 stars!

Love this hotel, and that it's pet friendly. Rooms are clean, staff is very friendly and helpful. Always great breakfast. But this last stay, my mattress was so hard I couldn't sleep. I guess they got new mattresses. I not talking a little firm, I'm talking like sitting on a rock firm. My dogs blanket over the carpet felt softer. I would have given them 5 stars, but I'm deducting 2 for the mattress.

Overall, a very nice hotel. Location, cleanliness of the room, size of the room and hotel staff were all great. Price was a little high and had to pay $10/night to park in their lot. That's my only complaint.

The hotel is clean. In high season, it's a good value for what you get. However, the hotel desperately needs new management & leadership. Our group, in town for a wedding, had booked the 3 room Doheny Suite. Upon booking we requested an early check-in if possible, and called the day before to see if it would be possible, to which the staff was unable to tell us… shouldn't they know if there are or are not guest in those specific suite rooms we booked? Why are they not able to read and/or understand the booking software? We arrived 1/2 hour early at 2:30 for a 3:00 p. M. Check-in, hoping we could be checked-in early. Check-out is at 11:00 a. M. 3 1/2 hours before that. When we were told our rooms were not yet ready, we sat down in the breakfast room to wait, upon which we heard someone screaming. When we looked to see what was going on, it was a man, the Manager, screaming at the front desk girl who had just been trying to help us. We approached him, as we felt it was very unprofessional, inappropriate, and concerning. The Managers response to us was apologetic for his actions, saying "I didn't know anyone was around to hear me. " That is not an excuse. That is not okay. This hotel needs New Management and needs to better train, inspire, and lead their employees.

The manager and front desk people are great and tried their best to make our stay great, but the quality for the price is unfortunately not there. And we had a parking pass, but when we got back, no more parking spot available. We had to park cross the street. So location is great, people are great, breakfast is okay, the room not that good (the TV remote barely worked, …) I give 3 stars because the manager and front desk were great to us. But I won't go back there, too expensive for what we got.

The hotel is great over all. We have stayed at this hotel once before with a great experience. We only stayed the one night this time. Clean rooms and nice views. Nice breakfast with lots of options. I look forward to staying here again.

Guy who checked us in at front desk announced our room number out loud to everyone in the lobby had to ask where the breakfast area was and times. Glad they had covered parking. The room was nice but average sized for a suite. Headboard had hair gel (I hope) where peoples heads would rest. Room smelled like wet dog. I didn't realize till after we checked in that the hotel was pet friendly, I have dogs but the smell was a little strong. Breakfast was good but breakfast area is small. There aren't enough tables for this size hotel. Set up in breakfast area is a little weird, they have the coffee cart and pancake maker right in the middle of a walking path around the outside of the tables causing awkward people pileup lol. Hotel is in walking distance to a quite a few local restaurants. We walked to Carlos Mexican and they were really good. Pool in hotel was neat and clean and heated.

Location is convenient in a beautiful part of the state. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Room ac did not cool down making it hard to sleep. Breakfast was pretty good.

BEWARE! The hotel was nice, but staff was very UNPROFESSIONAL! We arrive around 11 something pm, with our dogs, went out for about 45min. Have something to eat. The dogs was barking, very noisy so they opened our room and let our dogs our without contacting us first. My dog was missing for a week I guess. Our family was devastated. Then they were so firm that they did not do any mistakes. No compensation whatsoever from this branch. Very disappointed at that time. So tips tell front desk that you have pets then tell them do not open your room without calling you first.

Best place you'll find in the area for the price! **** I stayed here for a week and was very impressed. I was given a suite on the 3rd level with a large balcony and ocean view. The room was very modern, clean, and well maintained with a refrigerator and two TV's. The room was nicer than some 5-star hotels that I've stayed at. The walls must also be sound-proof since I never once heard the people next door. The staff was very friendly and helpful, great location, and covered parking. They have two computers in the lobby to use and don't charge for printing. I'd highly recommend staying here.

Amazing rooms and staff. Staff is really accommodating. Love the beds and the whole pools. Rooms are really clean and spotless. Also breakfast is amazing and nutritional.

We were looking for a place on our way back to LA and landed here. It is very nice. Wonderful large room and remote fireplace. It was so reasonable that we're keeping it an extra night so we can rest before going back to LA!

Beds are like 30 years old and provide no back support. It was a ghetto place with ridiculous parking space. Lindsey was very nice and helpful but aside from that, nothing positive about the place.

Clearly the best hotel to stay in if you are doing the Dana point. Location is central and well priced for the cleanliness and amenities. Won't find any other hotel that is only rated 3 stars looking this good.

Beautiful. Loved our balcony view. Krista and Tom at the front desk were the best. Everyone is so friendly and loved the interaction with all the dogs. Even getting on the floor to greet them. Can't wait to go back next year.

Great accommodations including a great breakfast that's actually worth eating awesome pet friendly staff that gave our dog lots of treats and love. Computers with free printing that I am writing this review on now! Highly recommend — shout out to Krista she is wonderful!
