It looks a little rough when you get there; but the people that work there are very nice and professional and when you get into your room it is clean and comfortable. Definitely a good deal for the price.

I would avoid this place! This place was awful. My first clue about the seedy situation was the price… Which was cheap and advertised as like because of remodeling was under way… Remodeling? Wow what a joke our time was "completed" and all we could do was laugh when we considered what has been done. My total human interaction with staff was done through the night pass through bullet proof glass widow. Not exactly the welcome wagon! Bed was ok…

Awful, dirty, nothing worked correctly. Left did not stay drove home instead 4 hours away rather than stay at this place. Have it a star cause it wouldn't let me leave it blank, but does not deserve not even the one star.

Dont stay here bed buggs and rude staff. On Friday June 8, 2018 We Booked and payed for 2 king size none smoking deluxe rooms. Asked in advance for a late check out even said we would pay extra for it. Was told that was fine and it would not be problem. When we checked in the rooms were not clean and they smelled like old cigartess. Then at 2:30 am my Daughter was by BEDBUG'S CRAWLING AND BITING HER. Late night staff was helpful and said we would have to speak with manager in the morning. But not to worry Hotel would comp us are rooms. And in the meantime put us in another room. The next morning I went to speak with the daytime manager and she was rude and told me that there was nothing she could do that she wasn't authorized to make any decisions and that I would need to speak to someone on Monday because she was not gonna bother him on a weekend. And then charged me $10 for a late checkout. And when I called Today Monday June 11 2018Management refuses to comp the rooms and pretty much said I was lying and hung up on me. So don't stay here the staff is rude and it is infested with BEDBUGS.!

Stay was ok. Friendly staff. Shower was ok. Bed seems not that good. Very few option for breakfast like bread, milk and juice. Literally no breakfast area at all. Good place for travel stay.

I had horrible experience with this hotel — Housekeeping does NOT vacuum and does NOT clean toilet. — The air conditioner appeared as if it hadn't been cleaned for a long time, so disgusting, At reception, when I requested to be cleaned I was informed that the maintenance guy will come and clean it. He never came to my room!

Just got here, room looks good, but then my partner spotted a BED BUG right on the pillow. A quick inspection yielded a couple more and we got the hell out! Be careful folks.

We spent a night here in transit. De Hotel is easily accessible and not far from the highway. The price/performance ratio is good.
Nice reception at reception and short-term booking no problem.
The room was spacious and well equipped. The cleanliness is acceptable.
The Wi-Fi works perfectly. Very clear breakfast, but still ok.
The rooms are quite light hearing and sleeping at the open window is not possible because of the noise outside.

1 star is too many. Angie in the front office is very rude. It would benefit the company to replace her or implement a training program to help her be more professional. She is not customer centric.

I was rather surprised and extremely satisfied with my room. Room seemed to be recently updated. Clean and no shady characters loitering. I'm definitely going to be a returning guest.

Room was clean and comfortable. Late night check in staff were pleasant and helpful towards my partner. A bit of feedback for the management — We were told that the continental breakfast was served from 6am til 9am and although we managed to come downstairs as early as 7:30 we found that many of the choices were no longer available. When we asked if there were any more spoons for the cereal, the person at the front desk did not seem very happy, nor did she offer any explanation as to why there wasn't much food left. Seems like they should add a disclaimer that the continental breakfast is "first come, first served" or "while supplies last"! Aside from that minor detail, a pretty decent place to stay.

This place was a nightmare from the time I walked into the room. The phone was not connected, the lights over the sink didn't work and there were wet towels left in the room from a previous guest. when I went to the front desk to get another set of towels this small indian fellow threw 1 small towel at me across the desk and said " that's all ya get" I was immediately pissed. As a former usmc ss I felt extremely disrespected. i took pics of the wires that were not connected and various other things like a waste basket that had the opening facing the wrong way. i will never ever stay at a roadway inn ever again. The other stuff I can overlook but the guy behind the counter was disrespectful tiny smug man who should not be in customer service with the attitude he possesses. this place was very unclean and the breakfast was absolutely ridiculous. i strongly suggest that if you are in bakersfield and are thinking of booking this place, … don't!

It's nice I don't put it the like getting a room from a someone who doesn't speak English but they're pretty good about it.

I like the price but honestly the area it's in is a little on the downside but it's around a lot of food places and a theatre. Bad experience for me I got bed bug bites : (but I do like them, my suggestion is they do a little more cleaning to make sure bed bugs don't occur.

Affordable price and large pool, hotel facing the sea. Good breakfast.

This hotel was a great price and location. It was close to the freeway, several restaurants, and an AMC movie theater. The front desk staff was very friendly and allowed us to check in two hours early. The rooms were spacious and comfortable. I would definitely stay again for a future trip and would recommend to others :)

Great price for what you get. It's nothing amazing but It's the nicest hotel I found for under $50 a night. Plus the staff are all very nice. Close to down town, alot of dining options nearby and there's a bowling alley across the street. Make aure you book with choice hotels. You'll save money. Also, if you stay here make sure you check out Fusion On across the street. Great food!

I absolutely LOVE this place! The flavors are fabulous! And the blended drinks are to profection! Never EVER have I gotten a piece of ice, especially one too big to go up the straw! I hate when that happens! Unfortunately I can't say the same for Starbucks, where it has happened often. Need more Java Detours! ☕

In The Family room we trpvati well.

Decent hotel for a decent price. Nothing to complain about. Didn’t have an iron and ironing board like some other hotels in the area, that’s why it’s not 5 stars.

The family running the place was very courteous and welcoming. The beds were slightly above average. Safe location. Seems like a nice place to stay if you're staying for a while.

A few minor hiccups, but well handled by a pleasant staff. Would stay here again.

I was going to give this place 1-star, but I added an extra star because the concierge lady accommodated my request to switch from a disgusting smoke-permeated dwelling, to a slightly better room in the non-smoking wing of the hotel. It seems there's no quality control and consistency between the smoking rooms and non-smoking rooms. The room I was initially given felt like a completely different hotel. I recommend locking your cars and bringing your valuables inside your room because there was a murder near the Carl's Jr. Across the street the night before. Lightning usually doesn't strike twice in the same place, but it never hurts to be aware of such an incident, which by no means is a reflection of the hotel's operation.

Clean rooms, the owners are very nice and are constantly improving the place, safe and some covered parking. Just a comfortable hotel with no bells and whistles. Plenty of restaurants within walking distance, pool and spa.

There were some serious downsides though too. We saw a cockroach in our room. We killed it and then it was attacked by tons of tiny ants. We asked for a nonsmoking room and even though the sign said no smoking outside of it, the room smelled terribly of smoke. Even our comforter had what looked like tiny burn holes from a cigarettes. The hot tub water had an unsettling greenish tinge. Finally, the shower curtain was so poorly designed that I couldn't keep it on while I showered. You can't beat the price, but you get what you pay for. Continental breakfast was small but standard.

If I could give a negative star I would rate the Roadway Inn & Suites a negative (-) 5. The customer service personal was rude, aggressive and abusive. This hotel is unprofessional, extorts money and deserving of a discrimination lawsuit at the very least. So far very nice place. Money was better then the headquarters & the front desk people very helpful.

We ended up in a room with a jacuzzi when we would have preferred a shower, so ask what kind of room you are getting especially if you are traveling in a family group because, there was NO way to close the bathroom. It opened right into the room. Otherwise, the room was clean, quiet, and staff seemed helpful.

Great location next to various food choices. Lots of parking. Good prices. Horrible cleanliness. I would not suggest using the pool area… ever.

I would have rated it higher except for the fact that I was here for an extended period of time and booked a room ahead of time upon checking in I was told the only room available the air was controlled by the office. Some nights/mornings were unbearable I had to go purchase a fan. I will be contacting the corporate office.

I didn't have any issues with my stay. My brother said the carpet wasn't clean and when we went to get our complimentary breakfast we had to pay tax not the hotels fault found it a bit odd tho. The ladies at the front desk were very nice. Had a bit of an issue with a room key but we got that squared away easy.

Excellent service and professional/friendly staff. The best hotel in Bakersfield for travelers. I cannot recommend it enough. Located off of freeway 99 and about 2 miles from downtown Bakersfield. The indoor pool was a great as well! Bar staff was educated on drinks and even gave me suggestions on drinks I've never heard off.

It was a good stay. The room was big. I was hoping for a microwave and fridge but there was none.

Clean, comfortable, great bed, good breakfast. The new HI's and suites are just really good places to stay.

Modern with all the eminities. Very nice atmosphere. Receptionist is personable and accommodating. Two thumbs-up!

Pretty clean, Wi-Fi was slow, met expectations.

Let's be real you aren't paying a lot so for what you pay its a great room clean, no smells, nice pool and hot tub (however hot tub jets need to be repaired). We did run out of toilet paper and there wasn't a second roll anywhere in the room. Rooms show signs of recent upgrades. The evening older lady at the desk left a lot to be desired… She was very negative… However the younger Hispanic lady that worked the am shift was amazing, friendly, helpful, and sweet. Now the only thing we were really disappointed with was the continental breakfast… You can't really even call it that — it was some bear claws, toast, English muffins and bananas. We were just expecting the typical eggs and sausage etc. The milk and juice is in the jugs it comes in just sitting in a pan of ice. All in all safe area, no major issues, and for way you're paying its a good deal.

I work but do not live in the area, so I stay at hotels when working. I need the hotel for sleeping only so don't need anything fancy — just clean and quiet. I stayed at the Days Inn across the street-bed bugs and I stayed at the Super 8 next door — they double charge you and very noisy. At Rodeway the staff is extremely nice, the manager is a sweet heart. The rooms are large and in door (important if it's raining and your walking an outdoor hallway). The rooms are always clean and the manager always gives me my same room. So it almost like home. The rooms are large. The only problem is their breakfast needs improving. If they can add a waffle machine, yogurt or hot cereal. But other than that they make you feel like your coming home.

For the price! It's a good place to stay.

Disghusting! Rooms are nasty! Dont stay here. Rude service at the desk. Fire alarm went off from 5am to 530am. I slept better in a fox hole in Iraq!

Online photos are not a true reflection of this dump! Filthy, stinky and moldy! Carpet was disgusting, comforters had questionable stains all over them and there was mold and peeling paint all over the bathroom ceiling! Pool was cloudy and looked like dirty bath water. Place was foul! Was supposed to stay for 2 nights. Arrived last night at midnight and checked out at 5 am.

Don't know how this place has gotten so many good ratings. Stayed here 2 nights because our car broke down in Bakersfield, and this place had a AAA discount. The door to our room was propped open with a rag and the window was open on a 100 degree day, most likely because the room REEKED of cigarette smoke. There was one towel provided, and I usually find it a little petty to complain about the quality of the towels, but I have to say, these towels were pretty terrible. Very small, very scratchy. The floor, sheets and comforter had many MANY questionable stains as well as cigarette burns in the comforter. If I would have had my sleeping bag with me, I would have slept in it on top of the bed. TV remote was taped together, many of the outlets did not work (just trying to charge a phone). Lastly, the "breakfast" was cheerios, a loaf of bread laid out for toast, and packaged "pastries". Not worth your money. Left that place feeling like I needed a shower… gross.
