It’s amazing and everyone is very helpful and nice, including House keeping ladies or whatever they’re called.

I’ve stayed here many times in the past with Vern Weber, and we always had a great time. The Baranof no longer has a great dining room as in the past, but all other amenities are unchanged.

Nice place to stay the staff is very friendly.

Had a wonderful visit. Hotel is nice and clean with some beautiful views.

The Baranof is right downtown, within walking distance to all the attractions and restaurants and bars. It recently became a Best Western, so I’m looking forward to seeing the upgrades that will be made. Our room was sufficient for our needs, the shower was great, the sheets wonderful, the housekeeping staff was friendly. Bubbles Bar has good choices of wine and beer.

Beautiful hotel, nice helpful staff, my son and I stayed here for 1 night on top floor. The view of downtown is awesome! Very nice quiet room, beds so comfortable I did not want to wake up. For your downtown Juneau stay I recommend this hotel.

There was construction in the lobby, which we could hear three floors up, and we awoke at 6:30 a. M. To the sound of jackhammers tearing up the sidewalk and street outside of our room. We wouldn't have stayed here if we had known!

Right in center of town, good food. Bit on the older side. My room faced the street which some times got noisy late at night; mostly people from the bars down on the street.

The hotel location is great and the rooms are clean, albeit small. But unfortunately the walls are so thin that I could hear the family next door talking to each other. And the Wi-Fi is quite wonky, which made working out of the room quite frustrating.

Mediocre hotel. The rooms are very, very small. We barely had room to put our luggage on the floor (and it was only 3 of us). The people at the front desk could have been nicer. When I called them at 4 pm to ask why our room has not been cleaned, I was immediately told, "The housekeeper left for the day. " They would not even apologize for inconvenience or try to figure out what happened or offer clean towels, they simply shut me up by saying that the housekeeper left for the day. So go and figure it out yourself Will not stay there again and would not recommend this place.

I was here for an event using the conference room and did not use a hotel room. The conference room could use a refresh but suited our needs. The hotel staff were friendly and knowledgeable with good recommendations for food and sight seeing in Juneau.

Overall, very good experience. We stayed a week in an upper floor suite. Excellent views of the channel and cruise ships coming and going. The hotel is dated, but suited our needs. Room had everything we need. This is the hotel where airline staff stays. We saw many every day. Elevators are fairly quick if you're going up from the lobby. Waiting on the elevator to go down takes some time. Chain coffee store in the lobby can be found all over town. Consistent, friendly, good prices. Also have some food and smoothie options. Ample seating. Good place to wait for a ride. Concierge was knowledgeable and friendly, but we do most of our own research, so only spoke with her once. Front desk staff is helpful and consistent. They had cookies available — sitting behind the desk each night. Trust me. We checked out other places while we were there and would stay there again. Now for the bar. Horrendous service. We tried three times. The bartender kept disappearing and the other kids that were working there weren't allowed to serve anything. Wait times (bartender not in sight) — after we finally started timing — were 9 minutes, 14 minutes, 8 minutes. Again, this is after we started timing. It was bad enough that we chose not to eat at the hotel. Made us wonder what is going on in the kitchen. Bring earplugs! The radiator in the room was loud. As were the homeless people some nights.

Great place to stay if you are interested in the down town area. Very limited parking if you have a car. Food was good also but the hotel and the restaurant was on the expensive side.

We are a crew member working on the ship so the one who do our reservation is our company… This is the worst hotel I experience for 11 yrs in the company. We arrived 8am and up to this moment they dont give us any room yet. How many people already check in eventhou we came before them. I was thinking because we are just crew member and we are not paying them. But I do believe our company is paying same as what other people pays for the hotel. I hope they change this kind of treatment for asian crew member its 3 of us waiting up to this time. Its 3pm already… but there is 1 guy who was very helpful he even give us blanket and asking if we want coffee or juice. I thank this guy his name is Jerry he deserve a promotion for this kind service his giving us. Some people dont deserve to be in front desk. Jerry needs to be in front desk.

Short walk to downtown, tourist shops and dining. Rooms were a little outdated. But worked for just an overnight stay.

We had a great stay at the Baranof in a corner room with fabulous views of the Channel. The staff is always friendly and helpful, and the downtown location is convenient to all sorts of entertainment, shops and activities. Our dinner in their restaurant was delicious — good seafood chowder and excellent entree salads.

Okay, the hotel was nice, beds were comfortable and the location is cool cause we can walk just about anywhere downtown.
The problem we had was that they had to keep fixing issues with our reservations. They knew we were coming in at a certain time, check out is at noon, check in is at 3 and at three our room still wasn't ready and had to wait another 45 mins to get into our room.

The rooms were overpriced. No a/c so open window and at 3AM people screaming outside F*** U! Rooms were small and out of date. Will find another hotel next time.

Checked in kn june 5th the 2 girls at the front desk which I pretty much know lied about their names had the worst guest service I have ever seen in hotel Dont greet I asked for the name " evelyn" asked me why I wanted to know They told me my room wasn't ready till 3 pm I asked to checked again it happened to be ready but she told me I wasn't sharing with my partner which I knew wasn't true so he told her to check again and 2 min after she just gave me the roomkey without not even apologizing she had her boyfriend who clearly didn't work at the hotel next to her Worst service possible. My boyfried ask for mea service she answered " you dont have any "! Her fake names were bella and evelyn there are a phillipino looking woman and a blonde russian looking girl Just miserable horrible people for that job.

Was met at airport by the hotel manager… room was awesome. Staff was very nice. BEAUTIFUL room and view. Great food…

It was located in downtown and was abeasy walk up to our cruise! Definitely recommend staying here!

I stayed for a week while attending a professional training. A nice location downtown and close to the shops. Close to food and some hiking trails, great for what I enjoy. It's definitely got a classic, well used/loved feel. I would stay there again.

The rooms are nice, and the bed was comfortable. I stayed at the hotel for a convention. The hotel staff did an excellent job of providing everything we needed for the conference rooms. The hotel catered our meals and our banquet. I was very impressed with the quality of the food.

Art deco interior design, modern menu available for the main meal times, and an integrated independent coffee shop in the loIbby. Beautiful place!

Bubble Room Lounge for food service unacceptably slow, allow an hour after ordering for the food to arrive. The cod was succulent, moist, excellent. The cod as a burger was okay. Service for attention was was spotty from the bartender.

Great location right downtown, good restaurant, outdated but hey it's Juneau, and well a good location downtown.

The Baranof Hotal has a a contemporary, aesthetically pleasing atmosphere. The rooms are small, but the bed is very comfortable. The basic rooms do not have a fridge/microwave, but do have a coffee pot. The food was good in the cafe, and the coffee shop was nice. The staff was friendly and helpful. My only real complaint is that the rooms are not very soundproof. I could hear my neighbors alarm clock go off in the morning, as well as any conversations in the hallway. This made sleeping somewhat difficult at times, so next time I would bring earplugs for sure!

Ok hotel. Nice staff but everything is a bit dated. Buts it's no big deal to me.

The hotel is one of the nicer hotels in the city. Juneau may be the captial but it is very small. The hotel is just a few blocks from the capital buildings. It is very busy during the legislative session. The restaurant inside The Bubble Room is pretty good. Yes it is a bit overpriced as is must every small town in Alaska.

I live with a man that I went to middle school with in an apartment in Alaska. We also live with a Mormon and his twenty-four wives, so the rent is distributed evenly between us all. My profession is a veterinarian that nurtures camels that I run into in the Alaskan drifts. I then cut them open and crawl inside of their intestines to reenact that scene from Star Wars. My roommate from middle school is a janitor at the local Chuck E. Cheese. He has lived there all of his life, and the first time that he left the restaurant was one the first day of middle school. The reason for this is because he was water birthed into one of the toilets there. He has had a lifelong devotion and passion for that glorious restaurant. At home the apartment is kind of cramped. In addition to the Mormon and his twenty-four wives that we live it, we also have a pet rhinoceros that I ride to work. My friend rides a cardboard box with paper plates as wheels. They're super cheap so we don't have to pay any automobile expenses and whatnot. My friend also has a son that he adopted at the age of 8. His name is Wematanye and he squires for him, and will one day take his place. The house is also pretty cramped because half of it is one floor mattress that the Mormon and his wives sleep.

Old hotel, room was to hot or to cold. Dirty bathroom! Rude bartender. Lobby bar shut down @ 10pm… requested room with channel view, very disappointing!

I recently had breakfast with friends and had a great experience. The food is always tasty and on time. The service is also good.

Stayed here for our anniversary service was great room was nice, great view. Food was fantastic (best asparagus ive ever had) highly recommend!

I'm still and I really like the Baranof Hotel. The staff are kind and attentive and the facilities are great. The view outside my window is great as well — Mt Roberts and Mt Juneau!

Over priced and needs a makeover. The restaurant was over priced and I could have gotten a better breakfast at McDonalds.

I stayed in a room with a mountain view. My room was quiet except for in the morning when the dumpsters were being picked up (probably not an issue with the windows closed). The room was clean and comfortable. I had minimal interaction with the staff but check in and out was easy.

Too close to the mountain to all it a mountain view. Rooms and location were good; but the staff were not friendly. Most importantly for the first time in my life, we were denied even 1 hour flexibility for a late checkout. Without explanation, just "no". This lack of flexibility will insure that we never stay at another Westmark property!

They've done their best to upgrade over the years, but with more competition in town I think I will stay elsewhere next time. Still has a quaint elegance about it if that's what your into. Small rooms but comfortable beds. Window's have no screen's and can fully open so watch your kids.

When I arrived, there was no reservation for me. The guys were very helpful and sorted out a room. When I got to the room it was not made up. I went back to reception to let them know. Someone immediately went up to take care of it. Dinner in the bar was excellent, as was breakfast. If everything had gone smoothly at check-in, I would have given them 5 stars… The guys in reception were great.

Keep hearing it's the best you're going to get in Juneau. Rich history. Very old.

Loved our stay! Favorite part is the cafe on the main level. Bob, the maître d', is amazing! He checked in with us, asked how everything was and was prompt yet kept a distance to allow us a great meal. Yes it is an old structure, but we have stayed at other hotels in Juneau and so far this is the best! There isn't a smell to it like the hotel we stayed at that still had a few smoking rooms and no "old" smell like some places have. We were greeted and welcomed when we arrived. The rooms are smaller but don't look shabby or old and are very well maintained with some updating going on. The bathrooms are small but well designed for the space. We LOVED the bed! You can't adjust the temperature in the room but we slept perfectly (he gets hot usually while I freeze so this surprised us both! ). Highly recommend this hotel. Just know when you visit Juneau you won't be getting anything close to the modern updated hotels in the continental U. S. So don't come to visit and expect to find that. They simply don't exist up here. This is why we so loved our stay, we knew what else was up here and we're very pleasantly surprised!

Wish I had done my homework. The service elevator is extremely loud and in constant use between 10 pm and 5 am. Stay anywhere else.

Only for the restaurant and service charge deserves 3 as well. No sound proofing and constantly in the hallway someone said.

Attractive website photos. Everything beyond the lobby is a waste of your money. This antiquated structure is heated by hot water radiators which bang and clank all night long throughout the hotel and most any other time of day as well. Constant maintenance/construction crews working at all hours adding to the noise. Don't plan on getting any rest or sleep. Rooms are small, only rooftop/ wall views below the 7th floor, and noisy homeless persons in the ally behind. I've stayed in more comfortable Motel 6's. Save your money.

Too bad there's not a zero star rating. Old looking, windows won't stay open and squeak like a braking railroad train, unprofessional staff, the stove looked like the 60's, poor room conditions, pullout bed was literally less than an inch thick, and cots are an extra twenty a night. There was an uncovered window in the bathroom that looks to other buildings where people can see straight in to your shower. It had a curtain rail, but no curtain. When I brought this to managements attention, they said they would send maintenance up while we were gone to fix it. Upon our return, there was a towel, literally a bath towel, draped over the curtain rail. We checked out early and went to the Goldbelt hotel which was astoundingly better. It felt like returning home compared to the Baranoff. I walked into my new room at the Goldbelt so relieved.

Very rude restaurant workers/bar staff. Incompetent front desk. The over priced, rooms are old, take your hard earned money someplace else. There has to be somewhere better, don't believe that this is a 3 star hotel. It's at best a 1.5 star hotel.

I took my fiance there for his birthday. The restaurant itself is gaudy, with a cheesy, 1980s daytime-TV opulence. There are light-up menus, in the spirit of any mall-chain family dining experience. The service was good, but kind of offbeat. They would drop by and ask us how everything was while we were waiting for our appetizer. The food is nothing short of terrible. Tasteless, unimaginative, NOT what is actually on the menu, and overpriced. Entrees do not come with a soup or salad, and the menu is often a flowery description of what you actually get. I ordered the Macadamia-crusted Halibut, served with Yukon Gold Potatoes and a mango chutney, only to receive a dry piece of deep-fried fish, made soggy by plopping it atop a glop of watery, tasteless mashed potatoes. The 'Mango Chutney' was actually just white vinegar, with grey, indeterminable vegetables. My fiance got a better piece of fish, but the side dishes were awful. The lot wasn't edible, but we had already waited about 45 minutes. Thinking dessert would get the taste of disappointment out of our mouths, we ordered the pecan pie ala mode. We were given an $8 sliver of old, refrigerator-flavoured pie, with spongy, goopy Costco ice cream. We laughed it off as the worst dinner ever, but the $120 bill (for two meals, two drinks, an appetizer and dessert) still kind of hurt, knowing it wasn't worth it at all.
