Stayed here on a 5-day trip to Juneau. Not a fancy place, but well kept, and looks like the rooms might have been updated fairly recently. Main selling point is convenience. The Sandpiper Cafe (good breakfast) is next door, along with a decent Chinese place, Zen. Downtown and the seawalk are a short stroll away, and the State Museum is literally on the same street. Bonus: You get a nice view of Mt. Juneau and Mt. Roberts up on the second and third floors.

Clean and comfortable, nothing fancy, which is just the way I like it. I have stayed here many times. It's within walking distance of the Alaska Folk Festival, the legislative building, the State Museum and the State Library. Funky restaurants and bars are also within walking distance. Right next door to a small grocery store where I pick up food for cooking in the room. Very affordable. It's an old fashioned motel, very Alaskan. I highly recommend it if you are here for business or pleasure.

Clean, convenient to downtown and eateries. Over the last few years the rooms have been updated, and beds are comfortable. Thin walls, outside noise, and hearing neighboring toilets being flushed keep me from rating higher. Pleasant staff. Free shuttle to/from airport and ferry. I would stay here again.

So far so good! After the terrible experience at the prospector hotel we booked a few nights here and the staff was great and it was pretty much the same price as the prospector but has a kitchenette! It’s great so far. I read these other reviews and see people complaining about these tiny/petty issues like how the rooms look outdated or they don’t serve breakfast big wupp this place is great! My only issue is that the air vents must be connected with the other rooms because the smell of cigarette smoke became a bit overwhelming and I didn’t see anybody smoking outside and it only get better when I opened the windows and we are non smokers and but also I’m pregnant so I’m sure my nose is probably just able to pick it up more than others but the service is very very good they have been so nice and understanding I would definitely suggest this place and come here again.

We love this place. It isn't a fancy toitydoity place, the employees make you feel as if you are part of their family. The only downside is that there isn't a microwave nor a average small fridge in each room nor a dresser in each room, but I love this place.

The bed and bedding were very comfortable, and this was the only highlight of the stay. The shuttle ride was bumpy with a lot of jerking around even on the main road. We were scolded by the front desk lady for not giving 24hour notice before wanting a shuttle ride the morning after our one night stay. The lady at the front desk and the shuttle driver made excuses for each others lack of professionalism as they talked about how work was hard and that they never get enough sleep. With the women saying things like "you don't know how hard it is" and "have all the candy you want, our boss buys it. See he got two bags a few days ago, and it's almost gone. He'll buy us more soon. " Once checked in we had to ask how to get to our room. Then when heading up the outside stairs the walk way had ice all up it causing us a great deal of trouble. We later mentioned this and it was dealt with almost immediately, which was nice. In conclusion, the rooms were clean and mostly well maintained, the beds and bedding was wonderful. The service, well the service lacked professionalism and customer service skills.

The staff was threatening about a 700 fine for smoking in the room, could have been handled much better, also when someone says fines you think police not a hotel service charge she was talking about. It was winter and the third floor landing was icy and unsalted. We we were admonished at check in for not scheduling our ride to the airport for the next morning as they require a 24 hour notice. (The lady the front desk girl seemed to like this wasn't an issue) The room was dated, with stupid things like cords draping across the wall and to the night stand instead of getting an extension cord so it stayed across the wall. When they opted to upgrade to cable they didn't bother putting them in the wall or even matching the color. Do what we are going to do next time we overnight in Juneau, pay $20 more and get a better hotel.

As other reviews have stated, in need of some refurbishing. A little on the "run-down" side. Not horrible but not a "3-star" place either. A bit over-priced but probably get away with it due to its proximity to where the cruise ship crowd disembark. Will definitely look for another hotel next time in Juneau.

Disappointed. Room opened to parking lot, across from liquor store. Proprietor read rules that I would never in my wildest dreams think of breaking upon check-in, including letting us know that we would be fined $700 if we smoked in the room (I detest smoke). Also we were told not to break things and to be nice. I must look like some sort of trouble maker, based on that lecture. Room was hot, window not operable. Old and dated, very small bathroom with no place to put your things. I would not recommend staying at this place, unless you really want to economize. You get what you pay for.

Great place to stay near downtown Juneau. We found them very accommodating — — my wife and I few into Juneau early morning and as such hadn't had a night's sleep. We checked late morning to see if we could check in early, and they worked it out for us — it was so nice to be able to catch up with a few hours of sleep. While this place is more like a Motor Inn, it was clean and comfortable, and the service was good.

Very hot rooms (early May) even with the heat turned off. The free shuttle from airport is convenient however it was a disaster trying to set up the return shuttle back to the airport. We asked 2 different front desk employees to set up a shuttle for the afternoon we were leaving because they both said it wasn't set up when we checked. Then we got a call at 2 am from the shuttle driver saying she was ready to drive us even though it was set up for 2 pm. Thank you for waking us up at 2 am for absolutely nothing. The front desk staff all seemed confused and were not friendly. They only cleaned our room and provided more towels and shampoo 1 out of 3 days. Our TV also did not work. We informed the staff of the broken TV and they said it would be fixed. That evening they assured us that the TVs were fixed by the cable company however the TV never worked for the 3 days we were there. It was easier to not address the issue again than dealing with the front desk staff. The only positive aspect about this hotel is that the location is easy to walk to many places.

Had our reservation been correct this hotel would have been perfectly adequate. It's clean, has a kitchenette, and the shuttle service is good. However, we booked a room for 4 people, and they could not find this reservation, so all 4 of us were in a room with one bed. Had we not come with camping gear, this would have been a serious issue. None of the staff seemed to be able to help us with anything, and seemed confused with all of our questions.

The staff was very nice and helpful. The price was reasonable compared to other nearby hotels. The rooms were dated and showed significant wear but appeared relatively clean. It was cozy and a decent place to stay for a couple of nights in Juneau, but nothing too special.

I had a great experience at the driftwood hotel, love the location with good restaurant near the hotel. The bus driver was really friendly and helpful see you soon Florence from Canada.

We did not have an enjoyable time at this motel. The rooms are dingy & run down & our room had a very strange configuration. The kitchen area is a passage through to bed one. The bathroom is off bed one. The second bedroom is also off that bedroom so it is necessary to go through the first bedroom to access the bathroom or the kitchen! We organised a shuttle for 3a. M. The following morning at the desk. A couple of hours later that evening it was checked with Jeremy that it was all correct & organised, only to be told that it would now leave at 3.30am. Which was cutting it very fine for us. After querying the change he made reassurances that the time was correct & all would be well. We all arrived at 3.20am to be told it had left at 3am! The receptionist was not particularly concerned telling us that there was only that one shuttle that night & the only taxi available had just left (with another couple who had also been misinformed. ) She eventually organised the day shuttle driver to come in & we just made it to the ferry terminal on time. Staff do not seem particularly interested in the customers or their job. There is a high degree of incompetence & a distinct lack of customer service. At no point did any one apologise. This hotel needs a big upgrade. It is in quite a good position in the town & was inexpensive but fell well below expectations. The only bright spot was the cleaning lady who was lovely & very helpful.

Nice roomy and clean. Coffee machine was broken, had issues with Wi-Fi and could only use it right against window, and minor stuff around with front desk staff but manager Amy was wonderful and helpful.

The hotel is similar to Motel 6 — Painted cinder block walls, no updates, no refrigerator, keys are still used. The staff is friendly, but totally incompetent. The cleaning staff cleaned our room 2 of the 6 days we were there. It was awful.

Great access and room to store skis for skiing Eaglecrest. Kitchenette is a huge bonus. Don't expect luxury, but clean (mostly) and a good deal.
