Great, clean hotel. I wanted to recognize Melvin. I came out to a dead battery and went to front desk. She called in Melvin who came and jumped me off, however it didn't look good. Melvin offered to follow me to Autozone where he changed out the battery. He went above and beyond service.

Great facility and great people working here. Had a brief hotel stay and also attended an all day conference here. Check-in was a breeze, staff on all levels were always courteous and attentive to the needs of guests. Will definitely stay here again when I'm in the area.

The layout of the hotel is confusing to navigate. Rooms are clean, and customer service is excellent. I missed the turn a couple of times because the turn is a little hard to see. Overall it's a nice hotel.

Would not recommend this location. Our stay was paid for in advance by a second party. I gave my credit card for incidentals only and was reassured I would not be charged. I agreed on good faith. Two days later my credit card was charged for the room. I hear this happens 70% of the time. Bad Management! Too make matters worse I called and received no resolution because the General Manager is on Vacation. I was promised a phone call? Since it was supposed to be free we overlooked the outdated amenities from the 80’s. For $154 per night you can do a lot better!

We thoroughly enjoyed our visit. Upon arriving very early (check in time is posted as 4 p. M. ), we asked if it would be possible to get our rooms sooner and they were very accomodating. The staff was so sweet and helpful. Breakfast was good and the location perfect for our visit. We would stay there again!

Avoid this hotel and other Marriott properties if possible. Upon arriving here on August 6, I found construction vehicles blocking off a large area of the parking lot. Upon checking in, I asked where the construction was taking place and if it would impact my stay. I was told that I would not be disturbed. This assurance proved to be false, because workmen were drilling right above the room where I was put up. Furthermore, the workmen tracked water in from the rain-soaked parking lot, creating slick conditions on the stairwells. I slipped on the steps, and got a concussion, a sprained foot, and multiple bruises and abrasions. I was not offered any meaningful assistance, but was able to obtain treatment from my own physician whose office is nearby. All the interactions with the Front Desk revealed personnel who are rude and offhand. Forewarned is forearmed: stay in a newer location which is not surprising arriving returning customers with disruptive construction projects. Once a reliable and reasonable dependable facility, this hotel is now just predictably bad. Save your money, or stay elsewhere.

There is only one elevator that is on the backside of the hotel. I checked in late at night so there was no parking on the side of the hotel where the elevator is. So, I had to roll my luggage from the other side of the hotel to the elevator, go up to my floor, then roll my luggage back to the side of the hotel where my room was.

Convenenient to Samford Univ campus.

Too costly to stay here if you are staying for several days due to having husband in ccu in brookwood hospital their hospital rates were 143.00 night.

The hotel is fine. Clean and in a good location, however — the Bistro restaurant in the hotel is a complete mess. I try not to expect much from hotels when it comes to food but this one in specific is horrible — 14.25 for a pizza and it is served cold and was clearly a frozen pizza, a beer is 6.75 which is robery. For breakfast I decided to grab a strawberry and banana smoothie 4.25 it is served with old yoghurt and is mostly ice — so much ice intact that you cannot drink it with a straw. Don't go to the restaurant but the hotel is fine and the staff is very friendly.

Room and rest room were smelly. I would not pay $40 a night for this place. I could not sleep early just for that odder smell. Will not go there again. Okay good thing they have is Starbucks inside and location. They have DD around it.

We were in town for a show choir competition. When we came back to hotel after competition there was no parking at hotel. Finally found a spot on complete opposite side from our room. While they have signs for elevators, I never saw one. We had to take stairs to our second floor room (no big deal), but the stair wells were at the complete opposite ends of the very long hallways. Breakfast was not complimentary (as stated above). Room had three coffee packs (single servings), but only one packet of two sugars and a creamer. Overall, comfortable room. Decent place to stay, but it was the lack in the details that annoyed me the most.

I had made reservations for May 13th check out on 15th I had even gotten a reminder notice of my up coming reservations notice that spelled out my request of my reservation as I had explained when I made the reservation that I had to have with two beds because it was for two men. And had requested first floor because it was hard for me to walk. I also explained that I was scheduled for surgery the following morning At St Vincent's Hospital the 14th at 8:30 am. When we checked in we were put on the second floor in a room with only one bed. We went back to the front desk and were told that they could not put us in a different room because they were booked full. Needless to say I was NOT a happy camper. The desk clerk said there was nothing he could do. I said there is something you could do by looking to see what other hotels are near the Hospital and he said there were none. We then went to the hospital and explained what The Courtyard Birmingham Homewood had done to us and Could they Tell us of a Hotel near them, They were vary helpful by suggesting the Double Tree Hotel a VARY short distance from them, They even called them for us and they provided us with a VARY Nice Room with two beds. I might add that The Accommodations and Personal At The Doubtree Hotel was far superior to the Courtyard Birmingham Hotel. Other people have now told me they are known for over booking. I will Never Book At a Marriott Hotel Again. It was not even Good Enought for one start.

Stayed here for 8 nights; is one of the older Courtyards but has been updated. One bonus is the YMCA next door is included with your stay here. They have an indoor and an outdoor pool — very nice.

Older building, but updated with new lobby and the Bistro. Situated in great location, near downtown as well as multiple shopping areas. Staff was courteous and helpful. Issues: room was not entirely clean upon checking in, and room plumbing was less than desirable. Ultimately, would stay again.
