O2 Ella

Balcony rooms overlooking pool were very clean and comfortable. Well located for ella town. But groundfloor eating area was not good. Very poor service at breakfast. Also nearly impossible to get any Wi-Fi service.

A brilliant low cost hotel. Rooms are a little tired but they are clean and comfortable. The welcome from the moment you arrive is awesome the staff are all polite and friendly. We only ate there on one occasion but the food was very tasty.

I will preface by saying It was a very last minute, desperate booking given my other two hotel bookings were terrible and switched twice… so by the third time ran out of options and wanted to be close to downtown Ella… and that’s truly the main benefit of this hotel is the location right downtown near the restaurants, bars, etc. The hotel its self is very basic but nothing wrong with that if you just want a clean room, bed and working shower. Otherwise not much to it but wanted to write this quick review to share as a solid affordable option for being such a centrally located 2.5 star hotel.

We stayed at this hotel for one night only. The room itself was clean, but we could not have imagined how terrible the overall experience would be.
This is a cheap hotel that attracts a very poor crowd. Our room was located above the pool on the first floor, with paper-thin walls and ceiling. Every door slammed anywhere in the hotel sounded as if it was inside our room. Guests were shouting in the corridors late into the night, making it impossible to fall asleep.
Then came the worst part:
Around midnight, a group of teenage tourists, drunk and foul-smelling, started making extreme noise on the floor above us — until 2 a. M. Completely unbearable.
At 4 a. M. They moved to sit by the pool directly under our window, screaming and shouting. It became a continuous nightmare.
The management did not care at all. No one intervened. At 5 a. M. We told the receptionist that we would call the police if the noisy group was not dispersed. Her response was:
“Take a sleeping pill. ”
Are you serious?
Hospitality is a profession — not a joke.
If the hotel management is unable or unwilling to ensure basic peace and quiet for paying guests, they do not deserve your money.
Stay away. Shameful.

Clean room with a balcony. Staff is great and helpful. Location is perfect in the city. Breakfast is unbelievable — choice of Full English, American or Sri Lankan. Laundry service overnight.

We had a very relaxing stay in this beautiful hotel. The service was superb, the staff couldn't do enough for you and were generous with their tourist information.
The location was quiet and beautiful with wildlife around and also handy to the town centre. Thank you.
