Viewfront Ella

Had an amazing stay here! The view was absolutely stunning 😍 and the staff were super friendly and helpful. Even though my check-in time was 12 pm, they let me in around 9 am when I arrived in Ella and even helped arrange a bike. The uncle who helped with our bags was so kind. I first booked for one night but ended up staying two — they even gave me around 40% off when I switched rooms, which was really nice. The new room was great too! You just have to climb a few stairs, but totally worth it for the view. After checkout, they even let us keep our bags and use a washroom to freshen up after our Ella tour before heading home. Really thoughtful people and such a comfortable stay! 💯

Absolutely incredible view from my room. Staff was very helpful getting my luggage down all the steps to get there. Great value for the quality. Wifi worked well, hot water and shower was quite good too. There is a bit of hiking to do to get up the hill to the hotel entrance, and then down the steps to your room. But all worth it in my opinion.

I had a lovely stay at Viewfront Ella. The hospitality was exceptional—the owner was so kind and attentive. The location comes with a bit of a challenge: there are quite a few steps to go down and a hill to climb back up with no AC in the room, but the stunning views are absolutely worth it.
During my stay, I slipped on the stairs due to the rain and my own misstep. An hour later, I received a message checking if I was okay—someone had seen me slip and immediately informed the owner.
On my last day, he helped me arrange a taxi driver from Ella to Tangalle. The driver, Neel, was fantastic. When I changed my plans, he kindly drove me to Yala and Tangalle and even joined me on a safari, making the experience even more special.
It was a memorable and wonderful experience, and I’d highly recommend staying here!

I recently stayed at the Viewfront Hotel, and be more impressed. The room with the mount view was absolutely amazing and highly recommended. The room service was excellent, ensuring that every need was met promptly and efficiently. The food was delicious, making each meal a delightful experience.
The hotel's calm and serene atmosphere, combined with its beautiful views, made for a truly relaxing stay. The most memorable aspect for me was definitely the stunning mount view from my room. Additionally, the pricing is very reasonable, offering great value for such a fantastic experience.
A special mention to the owner, who ensured everything was perfect. Overall, I highly recommend the Viewfront Hotel for anyone looking for a wonderful and peaceful getaway.

View Front Ella exceeded my expectations. The serene location, combined with the comfort of the rooms, made for a perfect retreat. The attention to detail and friendly staff made the stay even more enjoyable.

Large and comfortable rooms with an excellent view of the hills. The staff is very kind and the breakfast is large and filling. Thanks for a great stay!

Stay away from this hotel!
The hotel rooms isn’t what’s pictured on booking sites, the entrance is through a forest on a mountain and through other buildings. The walls is stained, door is leaking, and the room are nasty. The entrance pathway crumbled under me so a nail went through my foot and got several scratches. It is NOT a hotel, not even a bungalow. I would rather sleep with the homeless dogs than stay there one night. We checked out 30 minutes after we checked in. At least the manager was nice enough to give a full refund and drive us to another hotel.

I wish I could give 50 stars. Because this 5 stars are not enough to describe how amazing was my experience in viewfront Ella. The best thing I could tell u about this place is the amazing host, David. That took care of me like a father. He made sure I’m ok every day, that I feel safe, he helped me in so many situations, and he is an honest, amazing host. Other then that, the room was remarkable. The view is jut mesmerizing, and the room is super clean, spacious, and you get everything that you need. If you’d be lucky you will meet David’s sweet puppies. I loved this place so much that I stayed here 4 nights, when I planned originally to stay for one night. I would come back to stay in Ella only here!

The location is at height and the rooms are almost 3 stories downstairs. It was a little tricky to reach the room, but the location and rooms were comfortable. Especially the owner, an ex-military person, made sure we were comfortable. Provided us with all necessary equipment.

It is near Ella railway station and the city. The view from the balcony is really amazing. The hotel provides every facility like comfortable room, guest amenities and clean environment. Overall experience was great and value for money. I would recommend the Viewfront to anyone planning a stay at the Ella city.

With a clear conscience I can recommend Viewfront Guesthouse. We had a lovely stay there. First of all, the room was exceptionally clean and very spacious. We were impressed by the host who was helpful, nice and took very good care of us:) location is great. It takes only ca. 5 min walk to go the city centre, full of bars and restaurants. The way back takes a little longer as the guesthouse is located on a hill. This little climbing is fully recompensed though by a marvelous view from the balcony! Moreover, we absolutely loved our breakfast (served to the room) with magnificent view!
