Mountjoy Ella

The hotel looked nice in the photos, but the reality was completely different. The rooms were dirty and damaged. Additionally, during our stay there was no electricity at night, which meant we couldn’t charge our phones or other devices and had to move around in the dark. To make matters worse, a rat entered our room at night through a hole in the door seal. During the day, renovation work was taking place, making it impossible to rest. Overall, it was a very disappointing and uncomfortable experience.

The only good thing about Mountjoy Ella is the view — it’s truly stunning, one of the best in Ella. But that’s where the positives end.
The bed was so small that two people couldn’t sleep comfortably at all. The room had lots of insects coming in and out, and overall it felt poorly maintained. There were hardly any basic amenities, and there’s no air conditioning, which makes it unbearable during the hot season.
If you just want the view, maybe drop by for a picture. But if you’re planning to stay the night, I’d seriously think twice — the staying experience was a big disappointment.

We were warmly welcomed to Mountjoy Ella, and the views from the room were stunning. Be prepared for a short but steep hike up the hill, the views make up for it. The host at Mountjoy Ella was super helpful. Highly recommend.

Not bad not great. Starts with a way too steep pathway that will be slippery when wet. The shower was only just warm not hot and wasn’t fixed when we asked. Very new so limited storage for clothes etc. Bed a bit narrow. But absolutely stunning view and close enough to town.

Called them for booking and whoever spoke to me was super rude. Please know how to talk to people.
