Third Eye Ella

Had an amazing 4 night stay at Third Eye Ella, the room was incredibly clean and had everything we needed — and the view from the balcony was amazing! Pubudu went above and beyond to make sure we were comfortable and had everything we needed, when the room was cleaned it was the best we’ve seen at any hotel, absolutely spotless.
Fantastic location just off the main street, close to all the main sites. Would definitely stay again!

We stayed 1 night at Third Eye Ella, and really enjoyed it. Well equipped and clean rooms. Very friendly owner, who immediately organised take-away breakfast and tuktuk for our early morning train to Kandy. We would have liked to stay longer.
The hotel is a bit way-up, which makes it a very quiet place.

We enjoyed our stay here! It is at the end of the main street of Ella, which makes it centric, but also very peaceful. The young staff boy was really nice and attentive. The Mini bar Prices are fair. The room was clean. Also the breakfast was very great! I can recommend!

TOP Location! Very quiet, clean and very near by the main street. I unfortunately panoramic view! The breakfast was very delicious with local dishes. Ask for the cooking class it was amazing as well! Great value for the money! Internet was very fast during the day.

Lovely place. The owner was so kind. Breakfast was amazing and balanced, perfect way to start the day. Balcony had such a nice view. There are a couple sets of stairs up to the rooms, but they will.

Simply loved this place and everything about it! It has only 2 double rooms so very intimate.
Gorgeous views from the comfortable balcony (with excellent comfy chairs! ), spacious room with lovely bathroom and to top it all — the best breakfast we had in Sri Lanka! Excellent service throughout.
The location is extremely close to the center, 3 minutes walk — but the only downside is the ascending back to your room, which will leave you breathless…
Excellent value for money. I can't recommend this place enough.
If you continue to Tissa, ask the owner about a shared taxi for 6, 000 pp.

We really enjoyed our stay at Third Eye, Ella. Our room was spotlessly clean and had a fabulous view. Tucked away from the noise of Ella town, it was an easy stroll down the hill to have dinner, or go exploring by tuktuk. We were warmly welcomed and made to feel at home by the helpful owners and staff.

Wow! Stayed on the upper level Ruby room and what a lovely room, amazing large balcony and panoramic view.
This is definitely a BARGAIN and the owners could probably charge a lot more. Best stay in Sri Lanka so far and would DEFINITELY recommend.
Situated just on the outside edge of Ella it's about 5 minutes to walk into town. Given the town is small and you can walk the entire length in about 7 minutes this is nothing.
Steep walk up to the property but easily driven in TukTuk too.
Room is very large with king bed spacious and bathroom/shower room. Huge big floor to ceiling windows inside let you look right out to the view which is incredible.
Balcony is such a peaceful place to spend an early morning or late evening.
You will hear well in advance the vintage trains coming along the track and easily see them from the balcony.
In the distance you can just make out some waterfalls.
Breakfast is included again what a bargain and you just need to let them know what time you intend to come down and will be served in the lower main building on the outside porch.
Would recommend this to any couples travelling who want to avoid the noise/bustle of Ella.
If you're driving a TukTuk you can park outside and staff will help with your luggage.
Stayed here for 2 nights and loved it.

Close to the main strip and station, extremely affordable, and incredible local service. It is very unassuming from the outside, and a fair few steps up the the hill to your accommodation but the view (and breakfast) are worth every step!

I booked for one night and was greeted by Chinthaka and mother (I think) who kindly carried my case up the steep stairs to my room. The house consists of two rooms, both with amazing views.
Chinthaka was very hospitable and messaged me to make sure I had everything I needed.
The room was very luxurious with an amazing balcony with view of the mountain and the railway line.
A lot of thought has been given with the room with everything you would need to a high spec. A mini bar (supermarket prices) a large TV with loads of English premium channels. A map of the area, good lighting, sockets by the bed, fast Wi-Fi and a comfortable bed with premium bedding. A large walk in powerful shower and toiletries. It was the best accommodation on my tour of Sri Lanka.
Breakfast was provided on the downstairs terrace of whatever time I wanted. The freshly prepared food was delicious and generous for one person. Consisting of roti, toast and jams, sweet pancakes and a platter of fruit. Fresh juice and tea, and I am sure you could ask for other things too. There was more than enough food for one, that I couldn't eat it all.
The hospitality and high spec room I received was outstanding. I only wished I had booked another night.
Only negative point which is not any fault with the owners was I was woken at 2am and kept awake until 6 am with a dog constant barking. I would not hesitate in staying here again. The location is also great, minutes from the train station and the top of the village.

Third Eye Ella is a lovely little property with spectacular views over the steep valley towards a water fall and the famous rail way.
The room (Ruby room) is clean and spacious with comfortable and clean bedding. There is a mosquito net in the bed however I saw no mozzies around. There is a furnished balcony and a spacious shower/wc. Tv, minibar, tea/coffee, hairdryer and Wi-Fi free of charge. Note: the internet is fast and there are plenty of sockets to plug your phone vs.
The location is practical, near the town and to the railway station.
There is a construction work on site during daytimes but early mornings and in the evening it was tranquil and quiet; fantastic.
The breakfast is plenty with fresh fruit juice, fruit, home made roti and pan cakes.
There is a rather steep (100? ) steps to the hotel, however the staff is helping with luggage.
The staff is helpful and the owner is lovely.
I warmly recommend this little gem.
