Hideaway Trails Ella

I had a very disappointing experience with Hideaway Camping Ella. The service was extremely poor and did not match what was promised at the time of booking. From the beginning, there was a clear lack of professionalism and transparency.
One of the biggest issues was the advance payment. We were never informed that the advance was non-refundable, yet they refused to return it when things did not go as planned. There were no clear policies communicated to us beforehand, which made the situation even more frustrating.
Additionally, what they advertised and what we actually experienced were completely different. It felt misleading and dishonest. The staff did not take responsibility or attempt to resolve the issue in a fair manner.
Overall, this place does not seem genuine or trustworthy. I would not recommend Hideaway Camping Ella to others, especially if you expect clear communication, proper policies, and honest service.

We stayed in this hotel booked by our agent for one night. It’s far from Ella and attractions and should be chosen if you want to get away from hustle and bustle of Ella. Location is peaceful, surrounded by mountains. The night sky here is magical. The fireflies and the stars are nothing short of magical. The staff goes extra mile to make your stay comfortable. Super nice people! The food is served hot, fresh and delicious. Rooms are small but clean. Property boasts of natural pool downhill but we found the water dirty so we didn’t go in.

It's a fantastic place for stay. Full natural beauty. If you love quite place then you should select this resort. The main drawback is it will take 45 mins to reach Ella city.

Hideaway Trails Ella is a truly special place that lives up to its name. Tucked away in the hills, it offers a peaceful retreat while still being close enough to Ella town and the main attractions.
The accommodation is beautifully designed and well maintained, blending naturally with the surrounding greenery. Rooms are spacious, clean, and thoughtfully set up, with stunning views of the mountains and forest. Waking up to the sounds of nature and misty mornings is an experience in itself.
The staff deserve special mention. They are warm, attentive, and genuinely care about making your stay comfortable. From helping with transport and local tips to arranging hikes and meals, everything is handled smoothly and with a personal touch.
Food is another highlight. Meals are fresh, well prepared, and full of local flavor, and dining with a view makes it even better. The overall atmosphere is calm, private, and perfect for couples, nature lovers, or anyone looking to slow down and unwind.
If you are visiting Ella and want a quiet, scenic, and memorable stay away from the crowds, Hideaway Trails Ella is an excellent choice. Highly recommended.

If you need a very nice place near Ella to rest, enjoy nature, enjoy a famous rice and curries…A good place to start treks too!

The Stay with the whole experience was the best part of my Sri Lanka trip. The Lady is so warm and kind along with the staff. We felt at home. The location is beautiful. The food so delicious that the lady cooks. Overall very pleased with the stay. They have a natural pool. Hiking and going to pool was also a great experience with kids. We loved this place.

One of the amazing experience we had in this beautiful hotel. Rooms were clean and staff were very frindly. Best service. More than anything the location was spectaculars. Management was so good. Home away from home. You must put in to your travel bucket list. We will be back again. Thank you for the warm hospitality. 🙏🙏

This is such a special and beautiful place! Everyone made us feel so well looked after and treated us with warmth and friendliness. The views are amazing and the waterfall pool was spectacular. Big recommend :)

We stayed here for 4 nights. Everything was superb. Staffs and owners were very friendly and always there to assist and help. Foods taste was just soooo amazing and tasty. Just the prices are little high. It was so amazing view with a natural pool. Slight problem that no nearby shops, or restaurants. Had to drive a long way.

Lovely tranquil setting up in the mountains. Very friendly staff, they try so hard and do anything to please you. Good hiking high up in the mountains. It is quite a distance from the center of Ella, so factor that into travel arrangements. Staff will take you by Tuk Tuk for an exciting day tour.

We loved this place, it’s the truly essence of traveling, people are extremely nice and helpful!
We loved the sign “Come as a guest and leave as a friend”, and that’s exactly what happened!
The rooms were nice and bed was comfy, beautiful balcony and gigantic bathroom with a big glass window.
They have flowers and plants all over the place, which we loved.
Not to mention the little trekking to the “natural pool” a stunning river with waterfalls!
If you aren’t sure about it book it, you’re fell in love for it!

I was booked into the small boutique hotel. The grounds are beautiful and lovely views of the mountains all around. It has a homey feeling. The room I was initially taken to turned out not to have hot water so I was moved to the adjoining room 105 with the hot water heater. All the rooms were nicely decorated and very clean. Basic amenities were shower gel shampoo and soap in the bathroom. The room itself has tea and coffee and a cupboard which locks. The breakfast was served in the beautiful garden. The dinner was a choice of three mains. I tried the pasta and the fried rice and they were okay. The service was excellent. The Wi-Fi is good but only available in the room and main building.
