We arrived about half an hour before check in and were told the rooms were not available yet, which is fair enough, we happily waited in the comfortable reception area. I booked two superior double rooms, but when check in time arrived was told that this room type was unavailable, and no longer labeled as such. Despite having booked and paid for it in advance I was offered different configurations of single beds instead of separate double rooms (twin rooms or triple room) Eventually got double rooms, although the lady at reception seemed to say that they weren't as big as the double superior rooms booked. In the end got everything sorted. The rooms and bathrooms were fairly clean. Some issues with the shower not draining and evidence of a past leak on one ceiling tile. The shower was fixed as soon as we brought it to their attention. A little on the small side but not a big deal if you are not spending much time in them other than sleeping. The bed was very comfortable. The breakfast was very good, some items run out and don't seem to get replaced too quickly, or were sometimes replaced with different items, but all in all very pleasant breakfast, with lovely staff. The location of the hotel I great, I was able to walk everywhere. Some pros and some cons, but I would stay here again.

This is our second stay at this hotel and we will be back! The position is ideal with the bus to and from the airport being only a five min walk away. Everywhere else is easily walkable. The staff at the hotel are particularly friendly and helpful, from the reception staff to anyone you meet in the corridors! We also love the decor of the hotel which is attractive and appealingly different. Breakfast is great with an excellent, well presented and tasty selection. Thank you for another lovely stay. Great location, really pleasant and clean rooms, this such a good place to stay and the staff amazing. All of the people are incredibly helpful and generous with their time and advice. Everything was perfect, the hotel is clean and provides u great hospitality. The hotel owner is very helpful. Breakfast is tasty and varied. we will recommend this hotel to every couple and families:). You wont regret, just be there:)

Nice hotel. Room was cleaned daily and cleaning staff did a good job. Appreciated the free water, coffee/tea and mini-fridge in the room. We noticed some minor issues with the room (bathroom floor got wet when shower was used, door lock initially was difficult to use but staff fixed this promptly when alerted). Hotel is a bit pricey (800 euro for a 5 night stay), however the cost is likely average for Amsterdam which tends to be a more expensive city. Hotel concierge were generally helpful with questions about the city. Overall would recommend this hotel.

I thoroughly enjoyed my stay in this hotel and will return. The hotel is in a good position if you want to stay in that part of Amsterdam and was easy to find. Well laid out, very clean and nicely decorated. The room I stayed in was good and the bed super comfortable. My dealings with the staff were all good. If I had not been let down by below average coffee at breakfast and the fact the plug in my wash basin would not stay in place; I would have given this hotel 10/10.

The Hotel is definitely suitable for the family, in view of the fact that it occupies a prestigious position. You can walk to any place worth noting; From museums, to the House of Anne Frank, Dam Square and whatnot, just see the map to realize it. Also the bus that arrives from the airport stops at about 50 Mt. To improve, but great, housekeeping in the room and advertise in a real way the rooms, which as far as I'm concerned my not at all corresponded to reality. The stay for the tourist is very important, everything is chosen according to the features advertised by the Hotel, if then these do not correspond definitely The reviews are negative.

Very good service by personal. No bell boy (I guess since it's not a 5 star hotel), to carry luggage. Instead of the standard telephone in the room they give you a smartphone (Android 7) with their city recommendations and free local and international calls and 4g internet. Great service! The served breakfast is good and fresh. Location is very good as well.

Staff are very friendly, only grievance is the showers that arent designed that well, the floor often becomes drenched and the shower head keeps dropping down uncontrollably. Rooms themselves are very nice, ideally located for any attractions. Very enjoyable experience overall.

Nice hotel. The room is small, but everything is there. Breakfast is good. The room has a safe, large TV, hair dryer. Slippers not. It is very cool that the room has a Hendy (mobile, you can call for free and the Internet is available, can be taken, take to the city and be in touch)

Excellent value for money. The rooms are not very large but they are very cozy and have everything you need. They offer you at no extra cost a mobile phone that is in the room and you take with you and with which you can make up to 120min in international calls and is loaded with the usual apps as well as agenda of things to see and Google Maps, so you save a lot on data.
It is in a very quiet street but a few meters from a main entertainment area in the city and a walk from the museum district. They rent bikes very cheap which is a highly recommended experience that you should not stop doing.
Breakfast is good and complete even though it is only until 10:30. If you pay in advance you save 2, €5 Euros But if you fail someday notify that same morning to make a credit on the account.
The staff were very friendly and helpful.
For putting some glue, charge a deposit of €5 for an advertising umbrella of the hotel is a bit ugly…

Good value for the price, breakfast is OK, unfortunately not a baby chair, still happy to return. Quiet corner, bus from airport stops nearby, Old Town within walking distance.

The location is perfect, the beds and breakfast are good. Unfortunately, the room, especially the bathroom, has not been cleaned properly. The size of the room at the same price also varies greatly.

Excellent location. Every major attraction is a walking distance away. Very good breakfast with a nicely designed dining area. Pleasant staff. Rooms are comfortable and modern and provided well for a four night visit. Don't expect exuberant luxury, the place is not aimed at that. It a decent boutique mid city hotel.

I had a very small room even by European standards. Hotel is clean and staff are friendly. Food breakfast every morning. Convenient location to trams and central city.

Great hotel very central, easy walk into Dam Square and everything around. Easy links to all transport. Staff extremely helpful and pleasant. Breakfast was fine and rooms comfortable and very clean. Made to feel very welcome and would highly recommend a stay here.

The hotel is a nice hotel and the team are very friendly, however, the fact that there is no room service or someone to clean the room or change towels throughout my stay was something that would never bring me back to the same hotel.

Well located Hotel with regards to the museums. Poor service if not poor. The room in 4 days has never been cleaned they just made the beds. Very small room. We were 3 girls and when we entered the room we were appalled. 1 double bedroom with 1 folding bed. In practice a double adapted to 3. A lousy one. Towels only for 2 people and the toilet paper was never replaced only at the time we went to complain we were given. Anyway I hope to return to Amsterdam but not in this crap.

Very good location is the description on the Internet no bad surprise on the contrary the small extra touches are very nice (possibility to leave the luggage for free, coffee water and tea arranged in the room as well That a phone even if we did not use it) only small downside is the 2 single mattress as well as 2 small cover for a couple it was not terrible as well as it lacked the brochures to have good plans but otherwise it was perfect thank you Many I would come back it is on cordially.

The rooms were a bit small, checkin was not possible on time and unfortunately the wrong room was also available so I had to move during the stay. In short: Easily chaotic and quickly overwhelmed.

Cleanliness still has potential for improvement, but the rest was very satisfactory. Good location, quiet and nice, well appointed rooms. Recommended.

Hotel more than decent, almost trendy and not far from the center with clean rooms, a bit small, but taken care of. Breakfast.

Service was good, which was a saving grace. Our first room had a few issues including power shorting out if you turned on the kettle! However, the team where responsive and understanding and moved us to a new room with little fuss. Placed just on the edge of the inner city canals and near a few tram stops making it easy to get around Amsterdam. If you don't mind walking then most things are about 30min walk away, otherwise about 10min by tram.

The neglect of the room is a great sin.

Easy access to city centre. Very expensive street parking : 24 euro per day. Nice quiet rooms. Clean and cosy. Very friendly and helpfull staff.

The first hotel when I arrived in Europe the first time (Apr 2010), the hotel was still called "Best Western Leidseplein Hotel". Overall was okay but quite noisy between midnight to 2/3 am and not sure from where, but because I open the window. Room was good but small. But I can never forget the breakfast. I love the chocolate croissants and chocolate milk there. I cant stop!

The hotel is centrally located and breakfast is OK. They claim it was recently refurbished but difficult to see. The lifts are old, carpets muggy and the room furnishings are also old. Breakfast was good but pretty basic. The staff at reception and service staff were often loud and obnoxious when having their breakfast smack in the middle of customers. They would talk loudly in Dutch much to my annoyance. Service staff should be seen not heard. Basic hospitality principles.

The Leonardo Hotel Amsterdam is absolutely recommended. I haven't been so satisfied for a long time. The location in Amsterdam is ideal, it is about 20 minutes by tram from Amsterdam Centraal but not 10 minutes away from the major museums. To really be in the hustle and bustle, you need just 5 minutes. Pity that my stay was so short, but VH certainly come back there.

Superb hotel except surprise Sunday towels not were changing the beds are not retype for a three star fro fro.

Overall we had good experiences. We travelled with 1.5 year old toddler. The room was big and comfy and travel cot was provided. Location is really good for a hotel outside the central town and it's walking distance from tram bus, canal boat, and lots of food places. Staff was helpful and let us store the straller in luggage room. Only negative was that there was a bit of smell in the toilet all through the trip and two days in the row the coffee/tea was not replenished but we were given it when we asked. Also rooms are not sound proof to today's standards.

My room was changed to basement floor and it was very smell from a bathroom. Keycards didn't work well. Nevertheless, location was good. Room was clean and reception was very nice.

I requested a room on the upper side but I didn't get the room. But it was a nice stay. Room was really good. Near to the public transportations. I will strongly recomend this hotel.

It's a very nice hotel, in general. Lobby very well decorated, helpful and kind attention of receptionists, excellent and assorted breakfast (16 euros per person, not included). Rooms with air conditioner, wide bed, TV with tens of channels, and a little refrigerator. Bathroom with hot water, electric hair dryer, and a tiny shower room. The laundry service is very expensive: washing one coat is like 12 euros. In the stories, for getting the room, you have to climb like five big steps. Carpets look old. It's very near of the Museum Quarter, an for going to Dam Square, you can use trams 1, 2 and 5.

I was impressed with the room that we got. It was way better than what I thought we was going to get. 20 minute walk into town. Price was ok considering I only booked 10 days before I came to Amsterdam. Would stay again next time I'm in town. Most definitely.

I'm not sure why this hotel has so many negative reviews. The location is fantastic and I thought the cost was very fair. Breakfast buffet wasn't amazing but as far as a hotel breakfast goes it was good to me. Rooms may be a little small but they were clean and comfortable. Maybe recently remodeled? All in all, I would recommend to a friend or stay here again.

The Leonardo is located very Central in the heart of the old town and the Perfect base to Amsterdam to explore. The rooms are modern and stylishly furnished and offer a beautiful view. The Restaurant has an excellent kitchen and has convinced both to the dinner as well as Breakfast. The staff was very friendly and always with advice and act to the point. We can recommend this Hotel very much! great price/performance ratio.

The location is great right on Vodelpark and near high end shopping. The museums are very close and there are plenty of restaurants to choose from. The hotel was decent to sleep and shower, but not a place to really dine or spend time. Rooms are nice, but small and if your neighbors are loud you will know.

The staff is very Friendly and nice and tried to fulfill every request. The room (201) was for three people too small! The extra bed was a pulled-out chair. The was very hard and low! The suitcases had no space. For the robe there were to little options for hanging. There were in the room 5 lamps! For the price (1300. — in April) for two weeks. Otherwise the location was very quiet.

Sorry must go! We were in the basement, bunkered, what now is not really the Problem. But we had the pleasure of staying in a double room, extremely small bathroom and right next to our bed, a window with a entrance hall… to the Elevator. Conclusion if you are not intoxicated you couldn't sleep until 2-3 PM.

The location of the hotel is wonderful as this in an area where you can find a lot of variety to have something to drink or eat. It is located very near the area's major museums and to the side of one of the main parks in amsterdam. The rooms are much smaller than I we expected, but they are pretty clean and all correct.

Quiet and good location in a side street on the edge of the centre. Nevertheless, everything within walking distance. Good beds and good bedding. Clean rooms and good Breakfast. A little noisy. Very friendly and helpful Staff. Prices for Amsterdam conditions is in order.

Stayed here overnight on a short break to Amsterdam and was very impressed with the hotel as a base to explore. We arrived at the Centraal Station and it was easy enough to find the correct trams at the western end of the station (1, 2, 5) to Leidseplein for €2.80 for a 1 hour travel card. The journey is about 9-15 minutes depending on how busy the streets are and the trams are about every 2-3 minutes. The hotel is 2-3 minutes walk from Leidseplein on the Tesselschadestraat which is more than easy enough to find (behind the Marriott hotel). The street is leafy and quiet and had a very relaxed feel about it, with locals sitting out on chairs, reading the newspapers in the afternoon sun. We arrived 4 hours early and our room wasn't ready, but the staff were more than happy to let us store our bags in the luggage room so we could head off into Amsterdam. Staff were friendly and helpful, providing us with maps, discount vouchers and a wealth of information about what to see and where to go. If you can't speak Dutch, the staff are happy to speak excellent English. The area around the hotel is a mine of things to do, from the bars, cafes and restaurants in Leidseplein, to the Hard Rock Cafe, the shops along Leidsestraat, canal tours, the Museum Kwartier for the Van Gogh Museum or the Rijksmuseum or even a stroll in the Vodelpark are all within a 5 minute walk from the hotel. Trams are frequent if you want to travel further afield also.

I really liked this hotel, staff very friendly, breakfast very good and abundant, is very close to the center you can walk or if you prefer there is the tram 1, 2, 5 that take you to old town. The beds are soft, simple, separated, but if you remove the top you are left with a very good basis for sleep the ones who suffer from the back no problem everything very clean, room very well equipped, The guy from the bar in the evening very good host and very nice and friendly, would return. Things to improve: an extra blanket in the room, more insulation in the doors, but for everything else, I would repeat. The bus to the airport leaves you super close to Leidseplein passes every 30 minutes and you are going fast up to the central plaza of schiphol airport.
