Hotel is on a quiet street (bollard closes street to traffic overnight) within walking distance of the National museum, Van Goph museum and lots more. Very friendly welcoming staff. Room was clean and well equipped, good if not enormous breakfast buffet, with freshly made pancakes and omelettes available to order. Certainly our choice for our next trip to Amsterdam.

You can't get a much better location. Very close to the museums. Out of, but within easy walking to, the madhouse that is the central canal district, but still close to lots of local charm. Others have commented about the housekeeping being a bit of an issue — although true, the staff was very responsive to requests. You will want to upgrade from the basic room if possible. We ended up with a room with a jetted tub and a nice balcony. Breakfast is extra.

Although we only on day 2 of our 4 night stay here, I rely on reviews when booking hotels, we are up to country 4 and week 3 of our family (2 adults + 3 wild little boys) European vacation, still to stay at a further 6 hotels in Europe — this is the first time I have felt the urge to write a review. The customer service, quality, hospitality and genuine professional yet kind and accommodating demeanor of all the staff we have come across is amazing! The room is fabulous, the location awesome, the vibe chilled yet chic and I can’t recommend it enough (& not only because our last destination was Paris! ) … just wish we could spend more time here! Thank you to all the Staff at Hotel Roemer — we are loving our stay!

Loved hotel! Thank you so much Dominic for making us feel welcome, what a lovely women, you are a credit to the hotel! I wish reception staff were as friendly as Dominic. Night reception guy was fantastic! helped us with coffee and quires. Most Staff were friendly and helpful. There was a strange smell in bathroom, think it was the drains? Shower was brilliant! But extractor fan never worked to take out steam and AC only blew cold air… but still enjoy 4 day stay. Very close to the bulldog, theatre, money exchange. Would definitely stay again…

Great location, good cleanliness, decent service but has a great flaw the parking does not exist! You have to park in the street and you can't always find some free stall!

Worst Hotel in my life… dirty rooms… they don't change towels… zero reception… is rated 4 stars… but it deserves 2…

So, Hotel Rojemer Amsterdam (Hotel Roemer Amsterdam) — a compact hotel (3 floors), located in 5min walking distance from the public transport (tram, bus) in the Museum district of Amsterdam.
Pros:-friendly staff, — proximity to public transport;
— Proximity to the central part of the city;
— Spacious safe;
— Elevator in the hotel (for ascent/descent (as an alternative to a narrow and steep staircase) ;
— Price level of the offered complex service (in comparison with similar available in the market of Amsterdam).
Cons:-apparent serious discrepancy in the total area of the room, as well as the size of the bathroom-Jacuzzi and shower (together (believe me, very far not the widest people;-) ) comfortably fit and wash-extremely difficult) — in the photo in booking-E and on the fact;
— Mixed level mat. Provision of the room (first day (before the universe) — forgot the moment about the need for slippers for guests and two (and not one) bath robe (guests-two) ;
— Absence of elementary means of personal hygiene (sponges, toothbrushes, toothpaste, shaving machine and shaving cream), although this is unfortunately the "disease" of the vast majority of European hotels… : — ( (— Quality of housekeeping (in particular, bathroom Room and balcony) – has great opportunities for growth.

We had such a nice stay at Hotel Roemer! Very comfortable room for my two friends and I — — we were pleased with how comfortable it fit us. The staff are all so friendly as well. Very hospitable, helpful, and attentive. They were willing to answer all of our questions regarding anything and their answers were extremely helpful. We really appreciated everything!

MY boyfriend and I just returned from a lovely break in Amsterdam. We upgraded to the 'Junior Suite' for an extra 20 euro a night and it was well worth it. The highlight was certainly the Jacuzzi bath which was underneath two large windows, giving a beautiful view of residential amsterdam.
There was a TV at the end of the bed, one near the seating area of the room and another in the bathroom so you could watch TV in the bath.
The King bed was the best thing I have ever slept in…
We didn't eat/use the bar but lots of people seemed to enjoy the food.
Staff were welcoming and polite.
Perhaps the decor could be upgraded in the rooms but there isn't anything I can really fault.

+ Friendly staff, nice room (we got a room with a private outdoor area which was a nice surprise). Affordable rooms. Close by there is a good selection of restaurants and places to have a beer. — Cleaning service was ok but not great. Location was ok but it was a long walk to the city center. If walking isn’t preferred the taxi fair from the city center is manageable and the number one tram takes you half way for 3€. Would I stay here again? Yes probably.

Having checked out of another hotel early, due to it being of a very poor standard, I was hesitant about what this hotel would be like. I needn't have been because it was like night and day; a large room, very clean and bright, a large and well-equipped shower room with a fantastic shower, plenty of facilities and pleasant staff. The bed was enormous (Queen Size, I think), there was a Nespresso machine (with pods) and a decent TV with channels. It is also very nicely located, right next to Vondelpark. I could not recommend this hotel highly enough and would definitely use it again.

The only reason this got any stars is because the staff was friendly and good to us. The location is far enough that you will be tired if you're only on foot everywhere. The room is small enough that if an NBA player laid down they could touch each side. Pretty much just a bed and a desk no walking room. We didn't make it a big deal but the sheets had so many nasty stains on it and the mattress did too. We just asked for replacement sheets. If the staff wasn't nice and comforting I would recommend no one stay here. I'm sure there are other big rooms and sheets that aren't stained.

Lovely and great hotel super friendly staff five stars so efficient. A relaxed time at this beautiful old hotel is wonderful. My room upstairs had a hot tub it was amazing. Great safe place. Great prices. Recommend place to say while visiting Amsterdam. So close to the center.

Stayed here over Christmas. When we checked in they told us we had booked basement rooms which was not true. One of the rooms had a horrible stench which they knew about but still gave us that room. Then moved my kids across the street because they wouldn't move us to a higher floor. Carpets and flooring was weathered and in poor shape. Then they did not clean one of our rooms until we complained. The staff was unconcerned. We were in the basement over the lounge area and it was loud late into the night. Hotel is not worth the money at all. And staff is not concerned with its guests.

Stayed at the new building. Nice and spacious. Great location & super friendly staff too!

Extremely disappointed!
They first rejected my transfer 2 days before and then started again by taking 2 times the amount… error that hurts! Then settled, but once arrived we are presented our room of 18m2 (reality felt 12m2, the measure indicated is deceptive with reality) without Jacuzzi (with the decoration of tables of cows. HUMMM) While I had paid for the Executive room consisting of a Jacuzzi for 120th (excluding tourist tax), what we were given did not deserve this amount! We asked for reimbursement, and explained that we have to send an email to the management with no certainty of reimbursement and response within several days, so basically we have to accept or shut up.! — Proposal to sleep in a room of the hotel Vondel to rate (belonging to the same manager, bizarre possibility to change hotel but not contact him for reimbursement? Lie), the other room was worse, catastrophic, dark, and as small as the other and secluded without a view! So forced to sleep in the room of the Roemer while I had bet for this evening relaxing etc… My morale was annihilated, it was necessary to insist to be heard, because I have in the end never had any explanations about the fact that we did not have the Jacuzzi, and we showed well the reservation indicating executive room, they said we were right, but that unfortunately they had no room with jacuzzi available to catch up (you amaze me for the same day it's some! ).

This was a great hotel. Only inconvenience was that the put us in a room that was next to the kitchen, so it was a bit loud until 11pm each night. Room was nice and big though. Hotel was in a good location for tourists.

Really clean and comfortable room, we were staying in the block of rooms across the street from Roemer. Great location as only a couple of minutes from Vondelpark and a nice stroll into the centre of the city. Staff were welcoming and polite. Would recommend. Only downsides were the deposit for the mini bar; we were on a budget so taking 50 euros for a mini bar deposit was less than ideal and city tax of 25 euros which we were told we had to pay when we left, would have appreciated being told at the beginning of our stay. Overall a very nice stay :)

Nice, clean room with streetview. No noise, had a good sleep in not to hard bed. Great shower with bad. Thick towels, nice bathroom. Safe in room. Elevator in hotel. Location excellent. Very very friendly personel and excellent breakfast! We (couple) woud book again.

We had the smallest hotel room in our travel history. It was clean and had the private bathroom. Very friendly and helpful staff. However, watch out if you travel with big suitcases.

Stayed two nights, very satisfied. The staff super friendly. Good size room, AC and elevator. Bed was comfortable. Nice breakfast — — was not included in price but we gave it a try and weren't disappointed. The location is perfect, quiet area, next to a beautiful park, 5 min walk to Rijksmuseum and Van Gogh Museum, 30 min through the city to Amsterdam Centraal. Would stay there again in a heartbeat.

Very nice room and luxury breakfast!

Stayed one night and enjoyed the stay, the hotel is great. Our accomodation was in the basement but we had windows and a large executive room. The place is very close to the town centre centre and really clean. Overall pretty great.

Disappointed for the price we would have hoped a better quality service.

I can't say enough good things about this Hotel. The beds are super comfy, breakfast was delicious but most of all the Staff was WONDERFUL! Every single person was super friendly, helpful and accomodating. Highly recommend!

Good hotel, Great location IMO. 5 min walk to the best museums. 5 min walk to Vodlepark, 5 min walk to edge of main city of Amsterdamn. About a 25 min walk to central station, but you can take a city tram and make it in 10 min. If you want a quaint, quiet part of town this is a good place. If you want the city life, look more inside Amsterdam. Rooms were fairly large but nothing special, fairly plain. Staff was very friendly and helpful.

Clean, modern room with adequate but not outstanding space. Excellent bathroom design and good water pressure in the shower. Hotel is set up so some rooms are across the street from reception, so please be aware of this is an issue for you. Staff very responsive and friendly.

We chose this because of the location and we weren't disappointed. We had a deluxe double that came with the biggest bed your likely to find. Its a shame it was wet February when we were here so we couldn't take advantage of the balcony of the room. The staff were really friendly and helpful. We didn't use the restaurant for any meals so couldn't comment but if they matched the service we had then I assume they would be good. Certainly worth a return journey.

Clean, friendly and in a perfect location (quiet and close)

This place was great! I read some other "not so great" reviews and I can't believe we stayed at the same place. The room was tidy and the staff was helpful and friendly. It's located on a small quiet street and it's quite small — so you don't get the "noise" of a commercial hotel. Breakfast was well prepared and room service was not lacking in quality or quantity. Would definitely go out of my way to stay here again if I end up in Amsterdam again!

Very good hotel, the staff is very welcoming. It is very well located. A 5-minute walk from Vondelpark Park, 10 minutes walk from the Museum District (Van Gogh…) And a 10-minute tram ride from Central station.
Only the walls of the room deserve a refreshment in paint (traces of suitcase shots)

Nice room like big tub and courteous staff. Eye to breakfast if not included costs 19. €95 apiece and definitely not worth them.

Near the city center, with a very well equiped and confortable rooms.

The room was a little small, but that seems common for the area. Considering the size, there were a lot of electrical outlets, which was convenient. The staff was very friendly and always greeted me as I entered, even in the wee hours of the morning. The location was walking distance to a lot of really great restaurants and attractions; it was about a 10 minute walk to Museum Square. Last but certainly not least, the bed was one of the best hotel beds I've ever slept on!

This place is incredible. The rooms are pretty and comfortable and the location is excellent, but the real takeaway is the service. We were unusually needy during our trip, and every single staff member we encountered went above and beyond, all while being super friendly. I highly recommend this place to anyone who wants a comfortable, convenient, and stress-free stay!

The hotel is very charming in a rather quiet street. It is ideally located, very close to the Vondelpark and 10 min walk to the Center.
The staff is very warm and very available to make the stay as pleasant as possible. During my visit, I was upgraded, without charge, to a 3 times larger room I was supposed.
The breakfast is delicious without being too heavy with a buffet of choice :).

Good hotel because for its location and room services but its sad that hotel have unprofessional staff especially in reception.

We had booked a Junior Suite for 3 nights, not rely on the pictures on the website.
The room is nice, we had a double bed with mattress personal, mattress that separated during the night which makes one of us ended up in between! SUPER! In addition there was a collection of hair and barrettes to blonde on the bed base (necessarily seen that deviate in the mattress, all moved between! ) Are the furniture straight out of a landfill? Given the shocks and the varnish/paint/wood chips is a wonder. The bathroom is cool at first light, except that the hot tub is actually a jet tub (do not look at the pictures! ), faucets are pretty funny, they are loose and who regulates cold water can put a spin on it (while the other not, weird) WC furniture had several small round cups the wall showed trace of forgotten limestone and for two people we had right to re-use shower gel mini. In short it is the 1st day. On day 2, you turned on the TV to a DVD (y' has a DVD player that's a good point unless that. ) well Yes! The TV speaks to us and makes pets, like pregnant HS crackling and all the fuss! OOK so no TV (fortunately I have my PC).
Then come the day of departure, or we had to pay 75 euros for the tax and drinks from the minibar, 8 euros the coke can thing of its kind! "But the Lady said:" Water is free! = D "Mouii — _-'. " So when you see on the sheet of welcome: "You have free drinks in the minibar! " Drink only water!

Brilliant Hotel! Mini bar and drinks included aswell as bfast. For 3 euros extra they bring it to your room. Lovely small boutique hotel. A breath of fresh air. Lovely rooms, clean and tidy with a coffee machine in each room. I loved the out door area too. We loved it, and I am a fussy business and pleasure traveller :).

VERY BAD EXPERIENCE, bad service an rude personel. We had booked a excecutive room, they gave us a room under the roof with no aircondition — the room was arround 40 degrees hot. I seemed that aircondition was something you had to order extra, but that was sold out — I've never heard somthing so stupid. They could'nt give us a better room, so we had to find another hotel! They choose to charge us for the room anyway. I've afterwards heard from other people, that they have had simmilary bas experience with that hotel.

A real gem. Service is unbeatable, rooms clean and well furnished, great location, quiet.

Was charged extra for room service because the weather was bad. Ontop of this they double booked my room, and tried to give me a room with two singles, and actually tried lieing to me about the fact there were two singles and not a king sized bed. There were tonnes of hidden charges, and water costed 10 euro from the mini bar.
