Very friendly staff, clean shared area including bathroom, good enough security, Wi-Fi was poor in our room but it was very strong in the hall and staircase, so I just went out every time I needed it. We stayed 4 nights and we were all satisfied with the breakfast too! :)

Very noisy, the windows are not insulated and also you will hear all the guests. Tricky and annoying to have to ask for the key every time you go out or walk in and have you open the front door in the next building. The gentleman at the reception very unpleasant, the very friendly girl.

Modest Hotel with basic décor and essentials in a very central location. The staff were very friendly and helpful.

I will ask for a lower room next time I book, I was on the 3rd floor on my latest stay, last week.

The hotel itself is just “fine”, but the experience of living in an old building in the center is awesome. Rooms are very small, common toilet and shower for a floor. Stuff is very helpful, you can ask them to knock on your door if you have an early flight. Railway station is nearby, trains to airport take 20 mins, so it’s perfect if you have a one night in amsta.

In the centre of Amsterdam, two steps from the station and the main attractions. Hotel "Vintage" made in the typical Dutch house with steep stairs and soft floors. Recommended for those who care for the firm (location/comfort/safety).

Great location, friendly staff, good breakfast, perhaps, by review of the bathrooms in the room but the council.

Very noisy. Impossible to sleep literally. Not recommended. The employees, (except the two girls), were very unpleasant. I had the feeling that they were doing me a favor for staying. The stairs impossible to climb. When I walked in the room smelt a lot of grass. Rested nothing.

Extremely bright impaired hotel. The street events took place felt in the room. The ground creaks. The ceiling TV is shaking. Not again.

Just 3days for night sleep. Overall is Okay if travel alone and no so fussy about room saiz. Very near Amsterdam Centraal no need to purchase tram or buses fare if you enjoy to walking along canal to see up closed most beautiful City in the world.

This is good but its stairs are very dangerous, definitely not recommended for non-hand luggage (bulky).

Quaint place in the old town. Just Settle.

The hotel is fairly okay. The shared bathroom is clean as well as the shower. The rooms are not super clean tho. I have found few fruit flies in mine. Breakfast is ok for what I was actually expecting. The personnel is gentle and nice. Right in the center. Great location but noisy at night.

The hotel was not very good, but it was a very nice place to stay in.

People who work in reception was very kindly (man and woman). Hotel room was small and without own toilet, we have just a dusche. Our room was on the 2. Floor and stair to up was very difficult but you know, it is very old house and we knew it already so it wasn't problem.
The older woman who works in kitchen on Friday morning 8. September was nice and friendly, real Sunshine there.
On Saturday we met a younger woman there and looks like she hated that job. She sprang after guest who left a tray on the table and say to him quite hard that "you have to bring your tray, don't let it on the table. " We didn't heard what the guest answered but he didn't come back so that woman rope to him "remember that next time! "
When I asked about bread roaster if something is wrong with it because I tried to warm my bread two times but they was still cold. She took my bread with own fingers and say they are ok but if I will warm bread, I can wait a little, baguette is coming. Well, I took baguette and sat again at our table, came she to us with same cold bread in fingers, put it on my tray and say something to me with angry sound.
Jesús, looks like she had very bad day! Or, perhaps she is better in some other job…

Great review. Cheap and cheerful, if you're used to hostels this hits the spot. If you're a hotel stayer you might miss perks. We had 2 rooms for 10 people so didn't stay with strangers. Contin entail breakfast was handy, and location is fantastic.

I honestly loved this place, I would've given it 5 stars if the toilet and shower had given me some room to breathe! Everything was clean and service was super friendly, not to mention it was in a great location surrounded by many coffee shops and restaurants! However, the stairs, toilets and separate showers are way too small!

Small Central Hotel near the train station, right in the middle of Amsterdam. Mer are very easy to set up. Price performance goes.

The location is perfect. Uncomfortable that the bathrooms and shower are outside the room, but everything is quite clean. Person who serves breakfast is served totally unpleasant.

Location 5* everything else 1*. Im not one to complain normally but the stairs are more like ladders, shared shower and toilet and you have to hand your keys in every time you leave so they can let you back in to the hotel. Oh and the beds were shoking, very very uncomerfatable. If you have a conversation in your room then expect every other room to hear you. Won't be staying here again.

The first night a MOUSE found her way into our room. We choose De Mallemoolen because it had a good location at a good price. The location is at 5min from Amsterdam Centraal and about 10mim to Dam Square. De Mallemoolen is a one — hotel and in cooperation with the two — hotel De Kappermoolen. The reception st the Kappernoolen takes care of everything related to both hotels. De Mallemoolen is just the door next to the reception and is 3 level high with very steep stairs. Our room with two beds was quite small. It had two beds, a table, two chairs, a sink, a wardrobe and a TV. The room was not very clean. The sheets you slept in were clean but the warmer cover had burn holes and stains on it. The shared bathroom and toilet are okay in terms of cleaness. The rooms are not sound proof, so you hear anything that happens outside. The first night a mouse was in our room. After a long and tiring day, this was not pleasant. After hearing it and quick search, we saw it in our suitcase, where it disappeared quickly (we closed all our stuff and put it in the wardrobe). The same night an alarm went off, so it was a very sleep deprived night. The next day we went to the receptionist, which told us he would take care it. Afterwards they told us, holes were stuffed and traps were laid out, but no mouse was found. The second night it did not return. The location of the hotel is great, but everything else is not good.

Thank you for almost making me homeless in Amsterdam over the weekend. Really appreciate that. At the expense of wanting to earn that extra bit of money as soon as possible, you let out the room fast before I arrived which is only in the evening. Highly recommend to those who wants a location good but simple hotel. Oh and not to forget was the best receptionist I have ever met. Direct rude and unapologetic! Love it!

Good treatment and reception 24/7, very large steep stairs without possibility of elevator.

Is pretty good, 24h reception, change of bed linen and towels, the breakfast could be improved a lot but is normal. Very well located! Recommended.

The best part about this place is the area it is situated in, otherwise, they need some serious renovation.

The stairs in this place are sooo steep however for a 1* hotel I was very impressed overall. The bathroom and shower facilties, although shared with other guests, were newly refurbished and always clean. The staff were very friendly and helpful and the breakfast was of a good standard. Location is very central and easy to find. Would definitely stay here again!
