This is a family friendly space (especially Sunday lunch) has lots of activities for the kids. The prices are pocket friendly and they have amazing food. The wait staff are professional and friendly. Accommodation is also available here.

Great place for any event. Had a Rotary Club of Karen social there and it was fantastic. Great Pizza.

Ambient & lively pub, lush & green gardens, ample parking, great local & English beers available, tasty meals; the staff are quite friendly & effective. Best option in Karen for a relaxed weekend out with family/friends.

Beautiful place with a multitude of activities that fit every one. Beautiful environment! Nice restaurant. (service can be improved though. ) outdoor activities like paintball. Biking. All in a calm and Cosy environment.

Children's play area very neglected; then simple 2x toast and jam took AGES, even with an empty restaurant; given ultra-thin slices and cost a lot. Oh, dear! But… a good atmosphere and lovely grounds.

I love this place been in Kenya for 2 weeks now and the food and drinks are excellent. Staff are friendly and always smiling. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming. A must go to if ever in Kenya. The market is organic and all welcome. Asante Sana.

Nice open place with restaurant to spend a couple of hours with family. Many activities for kids available. Wall climbing, archery etc for adults. Good food.

The pizza was really good. The place has perfect views and outdoor activities for both children and adults. For pet lovers they allow you to come with your dogs and chill. Though I didn't get time to do Archery I definitely will be back.

The Pretty Arms is worth a visit. The food is decent if a bit pricey. There is a large amount of space for the kids to run and a climbing area. There is an archery activity and a climbing wall that are generally only available on Saturdays. I might have rated it higher but everything looks just a bit run down.

Busy place with traders selling produce, Maasai jewelry and other African inspired crafts. Restaurant was pretty packed on a Saturday afternoon. The food was great, the wait staff were also friendly and helpful. The Parking space seemed like it’s not enough for everyone especially on Saturday. The parking lot needs to be worked on because it is not well leveled.

You will be hard pressed to find a place that has a better beer selection. I've long awaited the arrival of craft ales within Kenya, and Purdy Arms has finally done it. They have a great selection of English ales and ciders, as well as a decent selection of Belgian beers. Then, there is their own in-house brewed stuff, which is definitely worth a try (the best locally brewed stuff around, for sure). Their food is also excellent, though perhaps a smidge overpriced. Either way, the wife and I are frequenters of the pub and will continue to be so long as they have such a great selection of drinks.

Amazing bar and restaurant. Popular with both locals and foreigners. High end, a bit pricey but totally worth the experience. Kids and pets allowed, ample parking space.

A perfect place on a sunny Saturday morning. Organic market, lots of tables in the shade. Plenty of space for the kids to run around. Helpful staff.

The food has really improved. The burger I had was great. Kids area is good for older and braver children, not toddlers, but there is ample space to play. One of the outside tables is situated over a septic tank, so that particular area stank. Cocktails were tasty. Slightly expensive.

Nice location but rustic tending towards run down. Decent food but terrible customer service. Not worth going to if you value being treated fairly and respectfully.

The veggie burger here is amazing! But, that's not all that I like about this place. They have a farmer's market on Saturdays which has great produce; from fruits and veggies to jams, homemade biscuits and preserves. They also have games to keep the little ones busy. The restaurant is a favourite meeting place for many of the Karen crowd. I've tried the pies here as well and the total yumptiousness keeps me yearning for more.

The activities are fun, well coordinated and worth your money. It's definitely a place to hang out with a group of your friends or your family for day full of fun. The restaurant is a bit pricey but the food is good. I got a chance to be present when a festival was going on and the fireworks were amazing.

Away from the city. Unique set up and an environment that relaxes… mingle with pips from all walks of life as you bid farewell to the hectic week you just had.

Nice setting, but made bad by the wait staff messing uo the order, offering an already plated dish as a substitute, or charging on chips that were not ordered. Would I go again? Yes, as others have said they had good meals and no problems. We will see.

The location of The Purdy Arms is spectacular and it's always a fun place to spend a Saturday morning during the farmers market. My kids love all the activities for children, including the quad biking. However, we did have pretty bad service at the restaurant during our first visit, and we haven chosen not to eat here again. It definitely ruined things for us.

I have been going to Purdy Arms for years and have always meant to post a review but I am easily distracted we really enjoy visiting Purdy's and they have always been very accommodating when it comes to catering for me as well. I am a vegan and they always cook up a storm for me. New Chef Kendi is awesome, we were there on Saturday and she presented me with so many fabulous vegan and gluten free options I was so spoilt for choice I asked her to decide on my behalf needless to say… delicious! My other meat eating half had the fully loaded burger for a change as he always goes for their renowned yummy pizzas and again he was very pleased. I have also had many of their falafels in the past and these are TOTALLY delicious accompanied by the lovely fresh salads from their own organic vegetable farm on site… so fresh and tasty! I love going on a Saturday lunchtime… it's so nice to pop into the farmers market and then over to the pub for a lovely cold beer and a catch up. Owners Rob and Jules are pretty much always there and they are actually very good people and also kind and so accommodating. I say this in a non bias way, it really is true about them both. This place has a I am not much of a night owl but on the rare occasions that we do go out for an evening party, purdy arms NEVER disappoints… always a great DJ around to keep the party going especially DJ Pandora who is excellent! For all the sports fans… this is the to go place! Say no more!

Purdy Arms is a fantastic friendly family orientated establishment which bends over backwards to please it's clientele. The food is always great as well as the service (unless on busy days as expected in any restaurant) The new chef has ensured that orders come correct and is always happy to see you if there is a problem. The atmosphere is friendly and welcoming and it is a 5 star place as far as I am concerned.

Can't wait to go back to my fav Kenyan pub. That right a pub. Serving the best pub food and drinks in a great atmosphere. Not always 100% spot on but I'm not a perfectionist either. The ood is great but this is not fine dining, it's rustic outdoor setting hardly lends itself to be so so go with the flow. Relax. Chill and slow down.
On busy days, the service may be slow. If it's drinks you need, go to the bar. Free tip
But it's the best bar for sport especially Rugby.
Go and experience this place but take the time to appreciate all that is good and not 1 thing that is bad and then write a rubbish review.

Huge grounds and lots of fun acrivities for kids. Service can be painfully slow sometimes. If you're having a lazy Sunday, then that shouldn't be an issue.

So disappointed.
I've had many, many meals at the Purdy, but I'm done now. Appalling customer service. … I have a gift voucher for a two-course lunch/dinner for two. It's approximately seven months old (won at a Nairobi archery club competition) but there's no expiry date on it. However, it does say booking is a must.
So I called last week Thursday to make a booking. The person answering the phone rudely told me that he didn't know anything about vouchers. And Jules wasn't in, so tough luck.
After much convincing and pleading, he agreed to pass the phone to the manager on duty. Who just said: 'I don't know, so you can't use it. ' I nicely asked what I could do to find out if and how to use the voucher. She barked 'will call you back' and hung up on me. Needless to say, five days later, I'm still waiting for a phone call.

First the garden was amazing, service was top notch, great food with fair prices for this type of places in Karen… I am inlove with this place… can be my every Tuesday and Sunday hangout joint.

Lovely property, with a cosy bar. Organic market on Saturday has good vegies and crafts for sale. Food is average, as is service. Good atmosphere for watching the rugby.

Had a really lovely lunch at Purdy Arms today, excellent food and and fast, friendly service thanks to Patrick our waiter. We took a selection of starters to share, Prawn Samossas, Calamari and the Deep fried camembert, all very good and also highly recommend the butter paneer tikka masala I had as a main. Keep it up!

Such a beautiful place! Definitely worth the visit (especially during the markets! ). Only thing to be careful about is when it rains it gets supremely muddy!

Purdy Arms is a great place with a fabulous atmosphere. They have live bands and their pizza is to die for. The grounds are massive and there is a playground for kids. They also offer archery at a cost.

A great bar, restaurant, beer garden and boutique hotel. One draw back — the bar is very close to the rooms and on weekends can get very loud. The rooms are however very comfortable, well equipped and reasonably priced. The service is good, but can be slower when they are busy, and they can be very very busy. A great garden for the kids with plenty of activities including bouncy castle, roak climbing, remote control car racing and archery on the weekends. Great selection of wine and great food.
