The decor, the food, the service, the ambience is tops. This was my second time here and I loved it. Been to hemmingways watamu and its also super. I guess its a hemmingways tradition to make their visitors so welcomed and loved they keep coming back. Would like sample Ol Seki and see for myself. Thank you.

If you wait 22 minutes and then have to walk around looking for someone to serve you while staff walk around you ignoring you then the service is very far from five star. However when the service does work the staff are friendly and the food is exceptional.

My favourite restaurant so far. The ostrich steak was succulent and the beef skewers even better. The portion for the beef skewers was generous. The spinach cheese samosas were great. Definitely going back.

Good time… enjoyed my birthday Jana… With hospitable people there… great service… Awesome, superb, incredible it was… Loved how Chelsea received us, showed us around and was there for us… she helped me have a great time and best birthday ever… The cake was lit… It was worth every penny.

The Hemingways Nairobi is relatively new. The grounds are spacious and well kept. The public areas are nicely appointed. The service was excellent. For dinner, we had a beef and a pork choice off the menu and each was excellent. Beautiful and relaxing views from spacious suites. Our bathroom had two separate sinks, a walk-in rain shower, soaking tub and walk-in closet with two sets of dresser drawers. Internet connection is good and complementary. Bed was hard but comfortable with mosquito netting. A limited number of foam pillows are available upon request. Complementary tea, coffee and water. Tea kettle to make tea or coffee in the room. I especially liked the TV that pops up from the chest. Our room had a desk with good lighting and an electronic panel. Outlets by both sides of the bed. The room lighting could be a brighter and the light switches are somewhat tricky to master. We stayed one night, it provided a great chance to recover from jet lag before rushing into safari.

I LOVED this hotel. The rooms, the service and the food are the things dreams are made of. As an added bonus, the spa is superb. All in, one of the best hotels I’ve stayed in.

Hemingways is a delightful hotel nestled in the heart of Karen. With beautiful architecture, a rich history, and stunning views, this is a classy property fit for royalty. For Valentine's dinner, I found the hotel gave a worthy effort but ultimately fell short on the service in ways a property of this class should never find acceptable. Nonetheless, it's hard not to recommend spending an afternoon or leisurely morning at Hemingways.

Hemingways is a fantastic hotel in every sense, the style, the ambience, the food and drinks, the spa, the pool and above everything the suites and the butler service. We really enjoyed our stay. And we will be delighted to come back if possible. This time however the rooms weren’t ready at the time for check in so we had to wait for almost half an hour. We were also a little disapointed at dinner time, that there was no reservation for us on the veranda. We thought there would always be a table ready for the residents but so wasn’t the case. That 3 out of 5 wines by the glas on the Wine list were out of stock could also improve. But those are details and if you don’t bother so much I must say it is one of the best places we have ever stayed at.

The hotel is beautiful and elegant. However the food is slightly disappointing and the variety on the Sunday lunch buffet could be better.

Hemingways is beautiful and luxurious. The rooms are spacious and well decorated with all the amenities you would expect from a five star hotel. The food excellent and the menu is wide enough allowing for a great deal of variety. There is a spa, with steam room, sauna, massage and beauty treatments. There is also a fitness center with a Gym and a Large swimming pool. The staff are polite, friendly and quick to respond to requests.

Beautiful place. Serene, green, sound of the water is so relaxing. You can show up without a reservation for a meal but they prefer that you do especially during peak tourist seasons. The food is delicious, the staff is very helpful and polite.

The menu is quite affordable. Grab a seat on the upper floor for better views esp to catch the sunset. Nice venue for a chill date ☺

It's located in a prestine environment in Karen area. Elegant designs and access to pool and sauna. Has good service delivery but slow on the main meal delivery after placing an order. The price is moderate for the main dishes most ranging at $25 — $30. The room service is excellent. All in all it would be a really good area for family, friends and couples.

We were to stay at Hemingsway for two nights during our honeymoon in Mauritius and Kenya. However, due to flight delays, we were forced to come from Mauritius later than expected, leaving us only one night at this hotel. We arrived in the wee early hours and were harassed by cabbies at the airport when our travel agent failed to ensure that our airport transfer. I made a call to Hemingsway to explain our dire straits at 2 am and within 10 minutes, they had coordinated a airport transfer for us. Their concierge, Steven, was my absolute favorite person at the hotel and their front desk staff, including Colin and Hajj, were awesome. When our flight home got delayed by 2 hours, they allowed us to extend our day pass for an hour and called our airport transfer to move pickup back an hour. The 24-hour butler service is something to be studied by other hotels as they were very attentive — even getting us drinks from the bar at 3 am when we were finally able to check in the hotel for our stay. I wish that I could remember all of those butlers who helped us but shout out to Anthony who ran to get another golf cart to pick us up when his broke down. Lastly, we would like to thank Francis for driving us around Nairobi for a day tour and helping me work on my negotiation skills to buy a Kenyan mask. We will definitely try to stay here again as the rooms and property is gorgeous overall.

Absolutely amazing views! I particularly liked the concierge and staff in general, very organised and professional. I had some sort of seafood soup that I found completely revolting that I had to have it taken away, I ended up ordeeing something else. Great bloody mary though!

I always enjoy the serene atmosphere at hemmings over dinner with Family. I can't think of a better place in Nairobi. The meals are great and the ambience is classic. The service is also good.

The ambience is truly great, A+ on all things aesthetic, decor, atmosphere.
However highly taken aback by the service. We sat for 15 minutes before being brought a menu, at which point menu service was incomplete as the drinks and wine menu took another 15 minutes to finally arrive. Usually in a restaurant drinks are ordered first and followed by food order.
Even after finally ordering for wine, water and juice, it took another 20 minutes for these to arrive (after being told that quite a few of our preferred wines were not in stock). Food was good and actually took less time to get to us than menus and drinks. All in all a very average experience…

Best massage of my life. The views of the Ngong hills was spectacular. An out of this world hotel.

The service was impeccable… I've never experienced anything like this. If you're in Nairobi, Hemingways is the place to stay. It's also a good place for a 24 hours getaway from the hustle and bustle on Nairobi. Take your partner if possible… the ambience is very romantic.

The ambiance here is great and staff if very friendly and helpful. The surrounding garden is very nice to walk around and take pictures. The food here was ok in my opinion. It is definitely a nice place for brunch or afternoon drinks.

The food is superb what can I say but didn't quite enjoy it coz of the so called executive chef kept yelling at the staff. Been there thrice but its all the same. Can't a guest enjoy his or her meal in peace.

Great tasting food but please speed up the service. Larger portions would good.
