I stayed in the shared dorm room and had a really good experience. The room was clean, comfortable, and the atmosphere was friendly.

Great hostel in ok location. Staff were lovely and facilities are good. However it was ruined by a Russian guy who seemed to be staying there long term.

To be honest, I was apprehensive of booking this hotel. The name, the style, everything just seemed a little off, however the location and some of the positive reviews swayed us here.

We stayed at Hotel Kazakhstan for 4 nights with my family. Location-wise, it’s one of the best places to stay in Almaty, very close to the Kok-Tobe cable car ride.

Great hostel! Definitely not a party hostel. As there are many long term tenets and an entire russian family with middle school children living upstairs.

Affordable and clean hostel for budget travelers. Location is not very near the center though but is accessible by Yandex.

Excellent stay with the best local sullort from the caretaker. View is just mesmerising. Top view of Almaty.

Dormitory rooms in the basement didn't have a privacy curtain. The bed mattress was comfortable though. Toilets and shower rooms were quite clean.

Good value for money. Could use a privacy curtain. Floors are clean, bed is comfortable. Toilet is decent.

My stay at Aykun Terrenkur was average overall. The hotel facilities and room features felt outdated and fairly minimal, so it didn’t fully meet expectations in terms of comfort.

Updated Feb 2026. Stayed here for a second time, and it was as nice as the first.

I stayed at this hostel for about 7 days and my overall experience was excellent. The hostel was comfortable, clean, and well maintained.

Lovely place to stay, would have liked to stay longer but fully booked : ( (totally comfortable and great price. In another place now wishing I was back there.
