A great hybrid for ryokan and hotel experience. Many rooms like a hotel, no kaiseki or course dinner, but with a buffet with Japanese and Western food.

A very comfortable and relaxing resort. Older style, but has everything you need for a chill getaway.

Amazing experience. Cannot recommend staying here enough. We spent 2 nights in Gora, one at another ryokan for same price, and Hanaougi was superior in every aspect.

One of the most beautiful and memorable hotels we have ever stayed at, with service to match. Everything from pre-arrival preparations to checkout transit was made so easy by the staff.

We stayed three nights at Hotel Indigo Hakone and had a wonderful experience. It is extremely comfortable and thoughtfully designed.

I can’t speak highly enough of the staff here. They truly went above and beyond for us; so many little touches that made the stay so special.

Had part of our honeymoon here and it was nothing short of amazing… the the point where we decided to stay an extra day.

I’ve stayed at hotels all over the world, and Karku Gora Hotel was easily one of my favorite stays. The service was outstanding and the food was excellent from start to finish.

This review is about 20 years past due but better late than never. It may have been known as a different hotel then but I remember enjoying the hotel. In particular the Onsen.

The hotel was spacious and it's an apartment style hotel where there is multiple rooms that can fit 5 of us altogether.

Our stay was truly memorable, especially because of the **private onsen experience**.

Rooms were big and comfy. The onsens were very nice and private (have to reserve in advance but the room to onsen ratio is low so never an issue). Food here was very good and filling.

I really enjoyed my 2 night stay here!

We spent two night here on a trip through Japan. We wanted something quiet after Tokyo, and this was perfect. The staff was incredible! They did everything they could to make the stay great.

Breakfast is solid, a mix of western and Japanese. The rooms were very clean and surprisingly spacious.

The resort is very near to Gora station. Having read previous reviews here, we came prepared with small luggage. Thank goodness because our room was at the top level and there is no lift!

Booked 1 night here to treat my wife and I to something fancy during our 1 week trip. The hotel is situated on a hill surrounded by lush greenery and is fairly isolated.

We stayed at Gora Byakudan in Hakone for two nights, and our experience was truly unforgettable, largely thanks to an outstanding staff member named Tran.

Stayed in the Sakura room, amazing. Great food! So many new things I got to try. The staff is amazing and very kind, friendly with english travelers who may struggle with the japanese language.

Wonderful staff and place. Right next to Gora Station, so it’s easy to get to, and walking distance to hikes and the open-air museum.
The baths are excellent. The meal was good and very filling!

A beautiful intimate hotel surrounded by the hills of Hakone.
The views are spectacular from your room, each with its own private Onsen on the balcony.

Incredible staff, meals and rooms. The mineral baths on the balcony are awesome. The room design and appointment is all that is good about Japanese hospitality.

Loved that no shoes were allowed in the hotel. We enter the foyer and we put our shoes in a shoe locker. The floors were soft and clean.

We stayed for 2 nights. Check in was efficient and smooth with no wait. The room was large and spacious. There were four in our party and two double beds and three futons were supplied.

Very cozy and quiet getaway spot. The staffs are kind, and the food is amazing! Private outdoor bath is available for reservation, and is very comfortable.

We stayed at the Mizu-no-Kaori Ryokan for two nights and had a great time.

Yes this hotel is old, but that just adds to the charm. The rooms are old and some things are a bit damaged but everything is clean and the beds are nice.

The rooms are nothing fancy, but nice enough. The staff was very friendly and helpful, the food was delicious (and plenty). I really enjoyed their beatiful Onsen area.

Located a short walk away from Gora station, however it is up a steep slope so not so great if you have luggage. There is a convenience store nearby as well as a few restaurants.

The apartment is well equip, clean and bright and airy. The rooftop has a nice view to enjoy the sunset together.

Nice place to stay. Not much around but we made do.

I was able to spend a comfortable time in the very large living room.
I couldn't use the balcony because of the rain, but I would like to use it next time I go.

I used it with a friend. In the spacious living room, we were able to relax and gather together both at night and in the morning. The bathroom was also spacious and felt very comfortable.

Very good location to take a cable car at Gora station. Walking around 2 minutes to station.
Good breakfast and dinner.
All you can drink alcohol by self service in dinner.

We had some of the best food I have ever eaten at Hotel Gorakon.
With it being close to the station, I had worried about noise at night. Yet, neither I nor my wife woke up to noise at night.

Right next to gora station. You have to go through the underpass but it’s a 5 min walk. There’s no stairs so note if you have heavy luggage. The staff are kind and nice and will help.
