We stayed for 3 nights at the accomodation. Jon, Hidemi and the rest of the staff were extremely hospitable and welcoming to all guests. The hotel is clean and filled with amenities.

This place was lovely! Mr jon and his team all so nice, even gave us a souvenir on our way out. The ski slopes are close by. The breakfast was yummy and the room was spacious.

We stayed here from February 2 to February 6 and had a very pleasant experience. The room was spacious and comfortably accommodated four people.

We stayed at Hakuba Tokyu for 3 nights. The service was very good. All of the staff were extremely accommodating and friendly.

Our group really enjoyed our stay at Shibu Hotel. The owners’ hospitality started with the free shuttle from the train station, then on to the snow monkey park that very afternoon.

This place is the platonic ideal of a hot springs resort, and I cannot begin to adequately sing their praises.

The mountain view is stunning. Room is ok. We had problem with air con that was fixed by opening the window to let cool air in.

We stayed here in the summer and it’s in a great location to drive to the nearby lakes and fishing pond.

Excellent place to get an experience of traditional japanese onsen with a very good food, made from local seasonal fresh ingredients.

We loved our stay at Rankeisou and Yukari was so sweet, attentive, thoughtful, and accommodating. The private bath is beautiful, the meals felt healthy and delicious, and the scenery is unmatched.

Very impressed with my stay at Senshinkan Matsuya, it was my first time at a ryokan, but they definitely exceeded my expectations.

We had the most amazing stay and genuinely couldn’t have asked for better service. From the moment we arrived, the team went above and beyond to make us feel welcome and looked after.

Us 4 girls had the best stay at eternal flame. Nao and Kimmy were the most accomodating hosts ever and went above and beyond to help us with anything we needed.

The owners of this lovely inn were so gracious and kind. We were picked up at the Happo bus terminal and then driven back on our last day.

Pension Kobekko was a great spot to stay for checking out all the ski hills in Hakuba valley. It’s a quiet location 1km from the base of Tsuigaike ski resort.

The pension is placed quietly at 5 min drive from the Tsugaike ski resort. They offer a shuttle that can take you there morning and evening.

Great location to see the sight for both high and low seasons. The staff is not only very professional, but personable and friendly.

We stayed for 2 nights (3 adults + 1 child) during April’s sakura season, and it was our first time

Decided to find a last minute sento! They allowed non-hotel guests to use their sento for 750Yen! The ojii-san was really friendly and patient.

This is a great option for solo travellers who plan to use the sightseeing buses to get around the area. The Japanese style room was the perfect size.

Great service from check in to check out. Our room was clean, comfy and the AC worked! I run hot and need it cold and was glad to be able to put a nice chill in the room.

Our family of 4 had the best experience ever, first time in Hakuba for all of us — our snowboarding trip was made extra pleasant with Paul and Tracy’s kindness and hospitality.

This hotel was perfect! Stayed here for 5 days and it was amazing! Firstly, the owners and staff were really welcoming — big shout out to Paul!

The family are incredibly welcoming and hospitable. The breakfast was great and prompt. We enjoyed the close proximity to the bus stop and food spots which made it very convenient.

Stayed here during my long trip in September. Though it’s not the grandest ryokan in the area, it was nice, approachable and had all the things I was looking for.

This Ryokan was such a wonderful stay and ended up being a highlight of our trip despite it being last minute.

We stayed 2 nights at this hotel and we felt very welcome starting from the pick up from the Echigo Yuzawa station. It is an easy reach from Tokyo station using shinkansen, about an hour trip.

I attended my dearest friend’s wedding at Mampei hotel on October. I had an amazing wedding banquet lunch here.
The banquet staff were all well trained. They were polite, efficient and attentive.

Mampei is famous as John Lennon's favorite. He (ane his family) frequently stayed here in the 1970's. Classic. Photos were taken in October 2015.
