I do hope that people visiting Matera and those who are looking for accommodation there will read my review of Vivere nei Sassi. I hope that because I rarely found a B&B run by a nicer host than the one managing Vivere nei Sassi. Giovanni, the owner and manager of this B&B has been absolutely spectacular from the first time I contacted him for the booking until the day my client and I checked out. I am a professional photographer and I booked two rooms, one for myself and one for the client I was giving a two weeks photography workshop in Puglia, with an additional stop in Matera. Vivere nei Sassi, owned and managed by Giovanni, is a beautiful and elegant house in the heart of the old city Of Matera. It has two very nice rooms, both very clean and fully equipped, with very comfortable queen size beds, and each one with its own bathroom where you will find plenty of soaps and other sanitary items. Giovanni provided us with plenty of information on sites to visit, restaurants in the vicinities, and activities to do in case we had time out of the photo workshop. He always replied immediately to my emails and phone calls, always nicely, patiently, and professionally.
The house is not only very nice and fully equipped, with snacks, teas etc, but Giovanni welcomed us also with a bottle of delicious red wine.
So, in a few words… thanks a lot Giovanni, you have made our stay in Matera really enjoyable and cozy!
