We had a wonderful stay! The lady at the reception was very friendly and welcoming. The room was cozy and comfortable, and we really enjoyed the smart controls via Alexa – such a modern and convenient touch. The accommodation is also located very close to the historic center, which made everything easily accessible. We would definitely stay here again! 😊

Great welcoming service at the front desk. Well appointed room in a traditional Matera style with good cosmetics in the bathroom. The lovely lady at reception reccommended local places for dinner as well as breakfast. Would book it again.

We enjoyed our 2 night stay at Hydria. It’s a great location to see all the sites, walking distance to everything. Our room was very clean, stylish and spacious either queen bed, bathroom, small table and stools, frig and space for suitcase and hanging on upper level. First level has a large soaking tub and dry sauna. We enjoyed the Alexa capability to turn on lights and music. We did not see a safe which would be a nice addition. This would not be a good fit for someone who has trouble with stairs since it is 2 levels. The host was very helpful with accommodating our early arrival, instructions for avoiding ZTL, parking advice and touring around town tips. We easily found nearby street parking using Easypark app and it was very affordable since 8pm-8am was free. Highly recommend.

Beautifully rennovated hotel room combining old stone and stylish design with quite a luxurious feel. Modern bath and sauna area. Comfortable bed. Coffee and tea available. They do not offer breakfast but give good suggestions. Front desk lady was passionatly involved and gave the most extensive information about a town we've ever received (differnt coloured markers were used ;-)
Perfectly located just one side street away from the Matera sassi area. Would recommend a 2 night stay off season to get a good feel for the town.

EXCELLENT! We only stayed one night as we only were schedule one night as we were driving through the area, but these accommodations are so good we wish we would have stayed a week. We will certainly return. The host, Mirella (I believe that's her name) is extremely informative. Accommodations are pristine/clean, safe… there aren't adequate words to explain how great this place is.

This is a beautiful property. Our room was great and I loved the domed ceiling and sunken bath. Great location. The staff and welcome was efficient and friendly. Matera is absolutely worth your time to visit. I would recommend a couple of nights to properly enjoy it. (Parking, well that is a problem in that we had to park about 1.5km from the property. The cost was reasonable but walking that distance with luggage wasn’t fun. This will be the same for most hotels in the old city area. So be prepared).

Really clean and modern apartment. Big bath and coffee machine were nice! Well situated! Good and helpful service. They gave a phone number of taxi driver, which was really nice when ypu arrive late! Matera as itself is marvellous historial place!

Our room was sparkling clean. It also had a great bathtub.
Check-in was easy and the host was very helpful in advising us on parking and providing a map with a suggested walking route for Matera and a few nearby caffe suggestions for breakfast.
Location was great. Easy access to walk around the historic centre and many panoramic viewpoints.
It was also easy to access via car. Parking was a bit of a challenge but after a few loops around the block we found free street parking only a block away.
The only downside is that the door opens pretty much to the street and that also is the only window. But that didn’t bother us much as it was quiet enough and the beautiful new condition of the room made up for it.
There also wasn’t a door to the bathroom in our suite either but it wasn’t a big deal as the bathroom is down a little hallway out of the way.
Overall great stay!

A perfectly located stay for a visit to Matera. With a very friendly and helpful host who gave a great amount of things to see within Matera with restaurant recommendations also. Before arriving, the host was so engaging, offering help with parking and any other needs we had. The room was perfect, such a stunning room with a cool vibe. Would 100% suggest this as your place to stay if visiting this beautiful city.

The place was fantastic! It was beautifully renovated, offering a comfortable blend of modern and classic architecture. The location was perfect, with the added bonus of being able to park right in front of Hydria, within Matera's blue zone. We highly recommend this spot and would definitely return! "

Thank you for a great stay. We enjoyed the room with high sealing, luxury shower and comfortable beds. This place has a good location in walk distance to the Sassi center, nearby pasticceria, caffe or shops, the parking on the street possible, or payable during a period of the day. The owner speak several languages, for those who dont speak italian, its perfect and easy. Thanks.

Hydria Rooms has its own entrance, it is spacious, well designed like a cave, super clean, well insulated, and location is perfect. It is located at the foot of Historical Town and Old Town. I highly recommend Hydria Residence. We arrived early and the office was closed from 1 PM — 3 PM, but Paolo, the host still came & welcomed us. There is always someone at their office across the street who can help you. I love their presence… Thanks Hydria Rooms, made our experience in Matera perfectly well.

We had an excellent stay at this hotel! It was incredibly clean and well-maintained, offering a comfortable environment throughout. The location is fantastic, just a short walk from the historic center of Matera, making it very convenient for sightseeing.
The staff were incredibly helpful and polite, always available to assist with any requests or questions I had. Their attention to detail really made a difference during my stay.
I highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Matera – you won't be disappointed!

We were welcomed with a wonderful information session that explained all of the local sights and the best routes to take. Based on their food recommendations, we had the our best meal of our Italy trip to date (Stano Matera). The place was conveniently located and the room was very nice. Highly recommend.

Great location so close to the Sassi area (5 minutes to the main piazza). Well appointed room, clean. Very helpful staff. If you have a car you can try for a park nearby. We parked in a street near the stadium about 12minute easy walk. We had unlimited free parking for 2 days.

Hydria residence is a great location and easy to find. The hosts are so sweet and helped us book a walking tour. Room with sauna and tub is absolutely worth it! Bed is comfortable however close to the bathroom. And uh, no privacy in the shower.
