Hotel not excellent. Noticed a lot of problems in the food and in the rooms. It is not a hotel that I would recommend, despite all the staff being very friendly.

In the centre of Matera, this hotel is convenient to places of interest.

The hospitality is warm and professional. The lodgings are chased in the maze of the various buildings and floors that make up this hotel. But there is also the part of the hostel with the comfortable and cleverly carved Camerons. All interspersed with corridors, stairs, reading rooms, conference rooms, meeting rooms. Among these ancient mure you can read the uses made in the various centuries. Because this structure exudes history, legends, rituals, traditions, works of art.
There is also a splendid church, richly adorned, with altars, stuccoes, statues, paintings and precious frescoes. The church also completes the gallery completely enclosed and protected by the grate, from which the nuns could attend the mass.
Spectacular are the various terraces that overlook breathtaking views over the roofs of the stones or directly above the precipice of the valley.
A beautiful inner courtyard today empty space under the stars, has taken the place of the old church whose three-aisled plan east-west are still perfectly legible.

I visited him to attend a meeting, but I sensed all his charms already in the path to reach the "meeting room". Unique environments, as unique is the landscape that surrounds them in the heart of Matera. I recommend it.

You have a negative experience. Cold chamber with an air-conditioning unit managed by the directorate. Internal routes are not air-conditioned. Missing the television in the room and the furniture is essential. For the cost that they ask for I would say a better b&b.

I stayed for a conference. Allocated in an ancient structure at the top of one of the hills of Matera, a few steps from the Duomo. Good base for touring The Stones. Includes a small but beautiful baroque chapel. The room was large but with small maintenance issues. Beautiful views of the Gravina, both from your room and from the terraces. Functional meeting room.

One of the most beautiful hostels you will find not only in Matera, but in Italy.
The care with which Antonella has renovated the old convent, combined with the spectacular location and really low prices (19 euros per night) leave every visitor with a smile.

The dormitory of the hostel is clean, spotless and the environment is quiet and comfortable. Cost is really affordable.
