Very nice place, well-kept details, Mimmo is an exquisite person and very helpful.
I did not stay in the hotel but had a late lunch (3pm) in the hotel’s restaurant “Dulcis in Fundo”. This is a complete turist trap. Do not eat here. It is a poor culinary experience! The food is average at best, the bread was stale and not such a good service. Yes, we looked for lunch too late for Italian eating times but still, this restaurant is really not worth the effort. The view is amazing though, so maybe stop to have some expresso?

We were walking around Matera and stumbled across the bar. Since it was aperitivo time, my husband and I asked to sit down on one of the four UNRESERVED tables available. The waiter turned us down because, allegedly, the tables were for four people. A real shambles for a place like Matera that lives on tourists! I DO NOT recommend it.
