The rooms are individual and named for their colour scheme. We stayed in the grey room, which was very comfortable and restful. The food was very good in the bustling pub, and the wine was excellent.

We had a fantastic stay in the rooms over The Spout. Yes, they’re located above a lively pub—but that’s part of the charm. The rooms were clean, well-kept, and ideally situated for exploring the area.

Amazing place. Louise is an excellent host. Close to Naas but in the most peaceful and picturesque area. The cottage is decorated and maintained to the highest standard.

Wonderful touring trip in Ireland. Have visited the area many times but never stumbled across shannonbridge before.

Idyllic setting on the banks of the canal, rooms are comfy with views of the canal, the cooked breakfast is a tasty delight.

Stayed for a single night and was pleasantly surprised at the quality on offer. For just €100 bed & breakfast this was super value. The room was basic but very clean and comfortable.

From the outside you wouldn't think much and when you step in it's old what looks to me like an owl farmers pub no offence. Those carpets!

My wife and I availed of bed, breakfast and lunch at Kilkea Castle Hotel on Sunday 20th July, 2025.

I truly cannot say enough incredible things about our stays at the Ashbrook Arms.

Stayed here last night, we were attending a wedding in castle Durrow and we were really delighted with the hotel. They were able to do an early check in for us and we could change for the wedding etc.

The views here are the kind of ones that really make you appreciate what's on your doorstep.

Albert and Geraldine were incredible hosts, and breakfast was delicious! Close to downtown, quiet and cleanly, cannot beat the atmosphere.

I stayed at Walker's Nest with a group of friends, and it was perfect. Albert and Geraldine were amazing hosts, and you can't beat their Irish breakfast.

We really enjoyed or stay here and look forward to staying again. Bernadette was a great host and really made us feel welcome.

We had lunch with 7 adults and 3 kids in The Coach House. It is the nicest lunch I have had in a long time. The food was so delicious. We all struggled on what to order as everything sounded so good.

My partner and I had 3 courses plus snacks, wine and cocktails here for the first time yesterday evening. From the moment I walked in the door I was greeted with smiles and warmth.

Myself and a friend had lunch there today. The staff were very nice. A young man served us and was very polite and looked after us really well. The food was lovely and decently prices.

Preston House is without a doubt one of the absolute gems of Abbeyleix. Owner Ross, is always on hand to welcome guests and provide excellent recommendations (yup, the nearby Bog Walk is sublime!

We just had a wonderful 2 night stay at Clonganny House, the room was amazing as was the location, quiet and peaceful with trees and birds singing in the morning.

We visited Clonganny house for dinner while staying at Wells House nearby. Karina and Kevin were great hosts and the meal was excellent in lovely surroundings.

Wood-fired pizza scrumptious, salad lovely and fresh, staff were superb — welcoming, attentive and super helpful, definitely going back for more.

I stayed at Orchid Mews for two nights over the weekend while taking part in a local marathon, and it was absolutely perfect.

Lovely accommodation in nice peaceful surroundings, located only a short drive from Mullingar town. Hosts were very helpful & friendly and obliged us with all requests — nothing was too much trouble.
