I had a fantastic time at the event organised here by Monat.
From the moment I entered, staff from the reception greeted us and led us right to the doors where the event was taking place.
The staff serving us during our party was amazing and so helpful.
Food was lovely 🙌 the place itself has a warm and welcoming vibe to it :)

A very elegant and sophisticated hotel. Customer service was exceptional especially from Eoin and Lucia at the front desk who were very helpful. Brunch at The Secret Garden was delicious. Restaurant staff were very pleasant and accommodating. The room was spacious, very clean, and comfortable. Toilet and bath was super clean with luxurious toiletries. With the best walk in showerOverall, a very pleasant stay. Will recommend to friends and family.

We had our wedding in The Alex Hotel on December 29th. We had a fantastic day and the staff made the experience all the more enjoyable. We must give a special mention to Lucas who was calmness personified and looked after us so well throughout the day. Mario was also so well endeared to our guests as he kept the drinks flowing in such a warm and friendly manner. Super spot thanks so much guys.

My daughter and son-in-law had their wedding in the Alex yesterday. I would like to thank them for the excellent day had by all. The staff were truly excellent, they couldn't do enough. The food was amazing. The hotel is beautiful. Would definitely recommend.

Gorgeous and very stylish with fabulous rooms — lots of attention to detail and a lovely warm and friendly team. Had dinner on the terrace which is a gorgeous space and delicious food and cocktails.

Visited twice last Saturday — for lunch and then in the evening for drinks. Service both times was appalling and food was mediocre and overpriced. Staff were disinterested and bordering on rude. On Saturday evening I ordered a glass of wine at the bar (small glass — €9! ) and was asked to take a seat and it would be brought over (no-one else in the bar apart from us). Eventually had to go back up to the bar after waiting 10 minutes or so and ask again. Very poor service … no apology … something sadly lacking here and it would appear to be poor supervision/management. Shame because it is nicely designed and comfortable.

The staff are so helpful and friendly. The room was spotless and the bed was so comfy. Breakfast was delicious. Lesley at breakfast was very friendly.

I performed at a charity ball in The Alex Hotel during the week! I couldn’t get over how helpful the staff & management were! Eimear couldn’t have done enough to accommodate me alongside all the other staff! Could not recommend this hotel enough! Thank you ❤️

We had a reservation over at The Mont hotel which wasn’t ready due to contractors not finishing on time. They kindly moved our reservation to The Alex and we were not let down at all. They put us in the Executive rooms and they are very spacious with the biggest bed we have slept in for a while. The rooms were equipped with everything that you would need on a stay in Dublin. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The variety for breakfast was amazing and catered for continental and cooked breakfasts. Would recommend a stay here if your travelling to Dublin.

This was one of the best hotels I've stayed at! My father and I were moved into this hotel because our booked room at the nearby brand new The Mont had to be cancelled due to non completion of building work. Nothing was too much trouble for the excellent staff at The Alex, who made our stay outstanding. We stayed in an executive twin bedroom, which was brilliantly appointed and allowed us access to the wonderful executive lounge well stocked with beers, wines, snacks and hot drinks. Our room was large with a great shower, big TV, a nespresso machine, prosecco, chocolates, robes, waters, and super comfortable beds. We ate at the Carriage restaurant downstairs which had great food and even better cocktails. A very memorable two night stay in Dublin, right in the heart of the city. Would absolutely stay again given the chance!

Massive price hike on a glass of wine from €8 to €10.50 for a small glass of house white. Crazy price for a glass of wine. Should inform people before serving. I assumed it was a mistake. Lovely hotel otherwise just check the prices before you order.

The room I book for work is modern and has nice design touches. Most comfortable bed I have found in the city. Breakfast is fabulous!

This hotel has promise! Good location, great style and feel. Could do better to keep up with wear and tear in the rooms (we had lots of scuff marks, worn paint). I thought the pricing was a bit overpriced for what we got. How about including parking in the rate?

My boyfriend and I stayed here this weekend. We paid for early check in and our room was not ready on time. We paid for access to the executive lounge which we were told there would be a supply of unlimited alcohol and snacks. When we went to use the lounge there was no alcohol and the snacks were flapjacks as I went to complain to the hotel manager about this I was informed the lounge was going to be stocked and offered a beverage while we waited which was ok. After 30 mins we went back to the lounge to find it was not stocked and so we waited another 45 mins. Eventually we gave up and went to bed. The customer service is terrible and the staff made us feel like nuisances just for asking for what we paid for. They are refusing to refund us our money. Really bad form and we will not be staying here again. Also the hotel is still very much under construction as there is safety and hazard signs in the 6th floor and one of the lifts isn’t operating at all with cling film Around it.

Very nice hotel and very well located to discover Dublin. Good food, friendly service in the restaurant and great breakfast buffet. Only the service at the reception was not very sympathetic and also not really competent. All in all, however, it is very worthwhile!

I have been visiting Alex for a business meeting and have had an extremely pleasant experience. Clean and bright facilities with extremely helpful staff. A pleasant atmosphere for an afternoon tea or breakfast which is all you can look for.

Very chic hotel. Had no issues with the hotel, I would say it overly met my needs, and was clean, hospitable and very decent. The staff was extremely well presentable. Would definitely stay here again if I am in the area.

Great place to stay staff are great.

The Alex is OK, and was as good as we expected. Only 2 complaints, and one of them is my own fault. You seem to be understaffed. Only one person at the front desk with several customers milling about, needing help. Difficult to find someone to help with luggage. Second item, my fault. I left 2 packages of insulin (I am diabetic) in the fridge in my room, and they are probably useless now. They're fine if kept refrigerated, but go bad quickly when not. If by chance someone on your staff found them and they are still cool and damp, I'm willing to pay for expedited shipping in dry ice. Otherwise, please donate them to a health service organization that may be able to use them. In any event, I'd be happy to return to The Alex.

Stayed at The Alex for one week and can 100% recommend this hotel. The staff is very friendly; the location is good; it’s a stylish decorated hotel; the rooms are very comfortable and are of good size. Most important: the bed! It is just fantastic and you get a very good night sleep. Last but not least: When it comes to hotel cleanliness, then I can only speak very positive and give the highest score. All in all a great experience and I would definitely come back once I am in Dublin again.

Friendly, helpful staff. Lovely room. Nice and quiet during the night. Close to all amenities. We’d thoroughly recommend the Alex. Hoping to be back next year.

Our 2 night stay at the Davenport Hotel was extraordinary. Our fist day in Ireland they made us feel right at home by allowing us to check in early. Their full Irish Breakfast was scrumptious, to say the least. They were very accommodating when we needed to leave our bags after checkout for a couple hours. Our last day in Ireland they made us feel just as welcome after our cross Country adventures in the Beautiful Ireland countrysides. Their location to Trinity College is only a block or 2 and it's centrally located to many shops, Pubs, Restaurants and other amenities within walking distance. We walked allot and enjoyed their location. Their was always a cab sitting just outside if you wanted one. We had very friendly visits as they drove us to our chosen destination. The bus service was also a Block away if you wanted a closer experience to Dublin life, which we also experienced. Hands down we highly recommend staying at O'Callahan Davenport Hotel. It's our choice when we come back to Dublin.

I was here last weekend with my teenage daughter. The lovely, and very helpful Paloma, had very kindly arranged to have a card, and a little cake left in our room for Georgia's birthday. She was absolutely delighted with this. Huge thanks! We felt so welcomed and at home during our stay, and can't wait to return! (My only small "complaint" was lumpy pillows! Kept waking me up! ).

The comfort of the hotel and inpecable (cleanliness, bedding, …) and the design very aesthetic.

We really had a top-notch staff. Staff was super friendly and helpful, especially to some special requests that we had. The hotel is so lovely decorated, I really love the style and class! Would 100% recommend it to friends in the future.

Hello Alex team, I think the Hotel change is amazing, and as someone who travels to Dublin on a monthly basis I am excited to continue to stay with you. The Room: Absolutely perfect, however it did feel unfinished. I. E. There was no room service cards, the Iron wasn't working, the TV remote was missing etc. I think the room has the potential to be perfect, but these little things can be annoying for people staying with you. Service: The hotel reception staff were very friendly, I would suggest having two staff members during busy times as there was often a long wait to get quick answers, however overall reception gets 5 stars. Room service staff however get one star, the lady on the phone was rude, when I said there was no room service menu.

The Alex is a beautiful hotel we only stayed one night would loved to have stayed another to appreciate this fabulous hotel.

I was really disappointed. Firstly: When I arrived I asked to pay upfront. Prior to paying for the room I said we would like to get Breakfast in the morning. I was told that as I was checking in, I could not avail of the bed and Breakfast rate that I had to pay for Breakfast as stand alone payment. I had not made any payment at this point, there was no good reason for me not getting the B&B rate. I would understand if it was the morning after check in. I was told about the reduced price the at time of booking over the phone, but why it couldn't be changed at time of check in I don't understand, as it's not like I was looking for an alternative room!. Secondly: I was checking in with a baby I asked for assistance carrying in travel cot and baby bag. Despite asking, no help was forth coming. I had to make 3 journeys (with baby in one arm) in and out to the car, which was parked 200mtrs down the street as there is no onsite parking. Thirdly: No Room service in the hotel. (Couldn't pop down to Restaurant with Baby asleep in room). Fourthly: When my wife joined us, she popped down to restaurant to grab some food around 8.10pm ordered a Beef Stir Fry which was poorly cooked and off which she left most of on the plate. Fifthly: The next morning after paying €13.50 for breakfast each we were expecting a freshly cooked breakfast, instead it was buffet style, no great problem, but the scrambled egg was watery and looked more like soup and the sausages were not cooked.

Great location, nice experience. Lobby was too cold, and a meeting area would have been nice — — did I miss one? Bedroom nice, but ironing board broken and couldn't go horizontal. Bathroom could do with some quality fittings.

Everything was perfect about my stay at the Alex. Room is absolutely gorgeous — I think it's been newly renovated. It was spacious, modern yet cozy and the bed was SO comfortable. It's about a 10 minute walk to city centre but still surrounded by bars and restaurants. You get the best of both worlds. I didn't have any food, so I can't speak to that (seems many folks have negatively commented about that).

Outstanding experience from start to finish! Truly a 5 Star experience. Staff were excellent; the room was incredible, the bed is without doubt the most comfortable I’ve ever slept in and the decor is to die for.

Very nice Hotel, hospitable and professional staff, cozy room and nice furnishings, only fault the bar staff empty and not even a bottle of water in the room, the cost of the room not cheap, so some water could be included in the price!

Recently refurbished and they have done a fantastic job of it. The rooms were immaculately appointed and the finish ran right through the lobby into the bar / restaurant. There is still some work to be done on the service, visited the bar without being served or spoken to (although they were closing up).

Vile hotel. Had a coffee in it recently. Toilets are deplorable, like something out of a horror movie. Avoid this place in my opinion. 21/11/2017 In response to your generic retort. I gave the hotel a second chance now that it is 'beautiful' — not sure if that implies it wasnt before your upgrade, given that you were charging similar prices. I Digress. I was with a group that asked for hot port. They were served hot brandy. I was then informed that the manager told him to give it to us — maybe you might update your reasoning, or even better train your bar staff on the difference between port and brandy.

Comfortable, convenient and stylish. Would happily come again! Of particular note the food was outstanding. I had dinner one night (superfood salad, sea bass with potato cake) and veggie breakfast two days. Great effort.

A very nice and comfortable hotel, well designed (recently renovated), at an excellent location. Everything in Dublin Center is within walking distance. I went for the continental breakfast, which was great. Friendly and helpful staff. Quiet. This is a happy customer. One small suggestion for improvement. The walls appear to be rather thin, when my neighbor turned on the t. V. Right after I arrived I could hear it, even though it was not turned on at a loud volume. The very nice lady at the desk went out of her way to find an alternative room but I decided to stay in the same room and I did not have any problem for the next two days. If they manage to isolate/soundproof the walls this would be the perfect hotel. I'm still giving it all the stars I can.

We have stayed here before and like its location within Dublin City Centre and easy walking distance of Trinity College, Grafton Street, St. Stephen's Green, Temple Bar, CHQ and the EPIC Experience, etc. Hotel was in the process of being renovated during our stay (to become the sleeker "Alex" hotel) and our room was newly designed with a nice open, minimal, masculine feel. Noise from construction is limited to between 7:00 am and 7:00 pm. Ground floor breakfast dining area and future coffee shop. (Nice pub, The Ginger Man, right across the street serves lunch and dinner. ) We needed to add a night to our stay and reception desk handled it with no problem since I booked our initial stay online through the hotel site.

Hotel was very pretty but the air conditioner was not existent. Called front desk 6 times over a 2 day period, they said it was working fine. Thank god we only had 2 nights here, would have been looking for another hotel if we had more days booked. Had to wait 4 hours for a second roll of toilet paper and that was after a second call to front desk. No Kleenex in the box. Said they didn't have any more. Safe would not open with code. Started a 30 minute count down and would not open. Had to call front desk took 15 minutes for some one to get here still couldn't get in safe. Internet is so slow you can barely check an email. 10 euros if you want it to work faster. Hotel was under going renovation and had no room service or restaurant. To many nice looking hotels in Dublin stay somewhere else.

Great hotel, room 508 was fantastic! Breakfast was not great to be honest. I know they are having construction work done at the moment so maybe the kitchen is not in full swing. But that aside the hotel is really great. Couldn't fault the room or the staff. I would definitely return.

Had a lovely stay overall. The room was very nice and the staff mostly very friendly and really helpful. The person who checked us in, however, was abrupt and unaware of (and subsequently somewhat disgruntled about) our late check-out arrangement that we had prepaid for online. Nor was our late check-out communicated effectively to other staff as we did get a knock on the door the following day and somebody entered not knowing we should still be there. The breakfast was lovely though and overall the staff very friendly and helpful. Just a shame that the lack of professionalism at check-in and communication about our late check-out left a bit of a bad taste.

We came here for our honeymoon, and it was a wonderful place to stay. The staff was very helpful and accommodating; we had a lot of travel issues getting here, but everyone we talked to was very kind, and when our baggage was later even than we were, they made sure we knew as soon as it got there. There was even a handwritten note in the room to congratulate us on our marriage, to give everything an even more personal touch. The room is lovely, spacious, quiet, and clean, and the bed is very soft — an easy place to relax after a long flight. I only wish our stay hadn't been cut short!

Great staff and location. Room was OK but the air conditioning was not adequate and the door lock did not work, even after reporting it not functioning. Could use some updating and a new and larger flat screen TV. Overall we enjoyed our stay and our visit to Dublin.

Bed sunk in a lot, needs replacing, room generally needs updating as furnishings and carpet are now dated and marked, location is central, rooms are quiet, no mini bar, no safe, so I'd give this a 3 star really. Fine for an overnight business trip but not a holiday in my view.

The beds and rooms are massive. Very comfortable stay.

This hotel was between a 3 and 4 in my opinion. The hotel's entrance is quite nice and everything seems to be very promising until you get to the room. The room seems a bit dated and the equipment such as the hair dryer, tv, and the beds. Aside from that some of the pluses are the excellent and responsive custom service, the extremely fast Wi-Fi which is included, and the food at the restaurant was actually delightful and the price was not bad at all! Overall it was a decent hotel aside for the minor inconveniences.

Nice hotel, staff was very helpful and the location is also great! The cleaning staff did our room every day and put out fresh towels and other supplies everyday. The bed sunk in a bit and the furnace fan didn't work very well but we were offered to switch rooms.

Stayed here whilst going to a concert at slane castle — fantastic staff, very clean and modern — exceptionally central also to city centre! Definitely worth a visit.

The heating facilites obviously are broken and we were forced to spend our first night in a 15 °C room in 5°C Dublin. After a friendly request no room change was provided but a noisy plug in heater to solve this — as it seems for them unimportant — problem. I suffered a cold for the rest of my holidays due to the cold room. That's certainly not what I expected of my time-out in Dublin. After asking and reassuring about the free internet access and how to get it, on our final bill we found 12 Euros for the Internet. Next thing, we booked the room for 328 and on our credit card was a minus of 350. We didn't touch any minibar or used any TV or anything, So, except of offering us anyhting for the room temperature inconveniences they even wanted to con us concering money. Never again.

Gives the impression of being a grander hotel than it is. Decor is tired. Good location though.
