Moxy Solo

I want to highlight 2 best things from our stay at Moxy: One will be location. It's so close to almost every destination you'd want to see in Solo, either a walk or a short taxi ride away. There's a lot going on around Moxy. Day and Night. Second is how their breakfast is so simple yet all well made. Most people would probably like a huge selection, but for us, a huge selection means nothing if it all tastes bland. We find the breakfast selection in Moxy just about right. Not too lavish, but everything tasted good. Well 9 out of 10, of course the bread could be softer, but we weren't bothered since the Ratatouille and the fried rice was just so good. Now, of course nothing is perfect. Moxy is in the middle of all the action, which is good since you have all sorts of night markets and street music just around the corner, but it comes with a lot of noise, so the weekend evenings were a bit loud in our room. Another thing is, the rooms were well prepared and clean, we were lucky to get a corner room with a perfect view. I just wish they had bigger rooms to accommodate families, we don't mind paying more if we could get a bigger room. The rates were already very good, so it would be worth it. As for the service, smiles all over, the staff were always kind and helpful.

I stayed at Moxy Solo for one night, and it was my first time trying the Moxy brand under Marriott Select. I came here specifically to experience what this brand has to offer, and it definitely lived up to my expectations.
The overall vibe of the hotel is vibrant, modern, and very welcoming. The hospitality was excellent—truly what you would expect from a Marriott property. A special thanks for the complimentary corner room upgrade, which made the stay even more enjoyable.
The room itself is simple in design, but very clean and comfortable, perfect for a short stay. The location is also a major highlight. On Sundays, there is a car-free day right in front of the hotel, where you can find a wide variety of local street food and snacks. However, this might be slightly inconvenient for guests planning to check out between 6–9 AM due to road closures.
The hotel is conveniently located near Alun-Alun Solo and Keraton Surakarta, making it easy to explore the city. There are also plenty of food options nearby, and a Lawson convenience store is just about 50 meters away, which is very convenient.
A special thank you to the hotel manager and all the staff for their outstanding hospitality throughout our stay. Their warm service and attention to detail truly made the experience memorable.
Overall, I had a great experience and would definitely consider staying here again.

The Stay:
As a Marriott Bonvoy Platinum Elite member, I was impressed with the pre-arrival communication. The complimentary room upgrade was recognized and much appreciated, and the in-room amenities were a lovely touch. The room itself was amazing—modern, clean, and exactly what you expect from the Moxy brand.
Dining & Facilities:
• Breakfast: While the variety is on the smaller side, the quality and taste were outstanding. It’s a great example of "quality over quantity. "
• Gym & Pool: Both facilities are well-maintained. Pro-tip: If you head down around 9:00 AM, you’ll likely have the place to yourself for a "private" workout or swim!
Areas for Improvement:
The service, however, did not quite match the quality of the room. The reception team felt a bit basic and seemed to lack a deep understanding of hospitality—additional training would go a long way here.
This was most evident in the lobby’s recreation area. It was quite chaotic; the pool table and board games were left in a mess, and the staff at the desk weren't paying attention to resetting the area for new guests. For a "fun" brand like Moxy, the social spaces need better management to stay inviting.
Verdict:
I loved the hardware (the room and the food), but the "heart" of the service needs more energy and attention to detail. I’d stay again for the Platinum perks and the breakfast, hoping for a more proactive team next time.

The dining area was clean and comfortable, making it a great place to relax. The room was very clean and well-maintained. The pool is quite spacious and also very clean.

Breakfast is curated rather than expansive, with quality clearly prioritized over quantity. The Indomie station provides a tasteful nod to local flavor, adding personality while preserving refinement.
Strategically located with convenient access to Solo’s key lifestyle and cultural destinations, Moxy Solo serves as an ideal base for both business and leisure stays.
A distinctive and well-executed property — one I would confidently return to when in Solo.

A very nice staycation place in the heart of Solo with affordable room rate and stylish Moxy’s ecletic pink signature design with teddy bear. The room is comfortable and there is ironing room as well, The pool is nice and you have to try the signature food Dendeng Batokok Asap in the restaurant. The Food are Great, Thanks to the Chef, they brought the taste to extraordinary level.

The location is really great! It is just a walking distance to go to market, cullinary and pura mangkunegaran. The room is spacious and chic. Only there is no in room fridge and the parking lot is just small, but the helper would like to help. Oh ya, the lobby also friendly. Many board games provided. Thank you!

Noise Alert! If you are a light sleeper or abhor noise, this is not the hotel for you. There is no sound insulation against the street musicians or mosque prayers from outside, nor is there sound insulation against noises from the hotel's corridors and inconsiderate guests. The only upside of this hotel is the friendly staff and its central location. Rooms are small and furnishings are spare and impractical. The breakfast area is as noisy as a fish market, cramped with very loud inconsiderate local tourists with their large families. Stay away from this hotel if you want relaxing accomodation! What a horrible experience, never again!

Staying for a night using Marriot Bonvoy Apps giving you extra advantage on late check out as silver members. Located right infont of car free day of Solo. If you stay over Sunday, you should try to experience it as it offers many local foods and items along the street that you can experience in one go. This hotel ks also near to many tourist attraction hence you dont have to worry much about traffic. You can even walk around on your own.

I really enjoyed stay at Moxy Solo Hotel. The service was very friendly, the food was always delicious. The building is modern and access to everywhere is easy. Moreover, during car Free Day, I was spoiled with various food stands and others right in front of the hotel. One more thing I like is that I could see the Batara Kresna train and the steam tourism train passing right in front of the hotel. Good 5-star for moxy hotel solo.

Strategically located on Jalan Slamet Riyadi, Solo, the service was excellent from check-in to check-out. The rooms were comfortable and up to expectations. The breakfast should include a vegetable menu to ensure a balanced nutritional profile. Additionally, offering a complimentary cappuccino or latte would be ideal to remain competitive with similar hotels in the same price range.

I had a really lovely stay at this hotel. I instantly liked the whole concept the moment I arrived. The bell boy and staff were genuinely kind, and the service felt effortless from check in to check out.
The room was comfortable, the facilities were great, and the restaurant food was surprisingly delicious with plenty of variety. I enjoyed everything I tried.
I didn’t get the chance to see the swimming pool because I had to rush for work, which is a little regret but it also gives me a reason to come back.
I truly hope I can stay here again. It felt like a place I’d happily return to.

From the moment I arrived, the Moxy Solo team was super friendly and welcoming. Such great vibes all around! Pak Ale and Bima made sure everything went smoothly, while Tegar and the FO team shared great local tips that helped me explore Solo like a true local.
Special thanks to Royan from concierge for his cheerful energy, Glen for taking care of my luggage, and Chef Parada for the amazing gluten-free cake. Janu also made sure my coffee was perfect and gave me that much-needed morning boost with a smile.
A fun highlight was during my TikTok Live when Pak Ale joined for a quick, spontaneous hello, a genuine moment that showed the warm and playful Moxy spirit.
The location is unbeatable, right in downtown and within walking distance to the palaces. The gym, pool, and breakfast were all excellent. Everything about this hotel feels fun, modern, and full of life. Huge thanks to everyone at Moxy Solo for the amazing hospitality! 💜
