Upper Bavaria Hotels

Hoping this review helps others make an informed decision.
We stayed at Hotel MIO during the second leg of our Bavaria trip while exploring Christmas markets.

Quaint and modern — just so so so cute — design is so pretty.
Ref, safe, Nespresso machine and pods, water bottle, hairdryer, shampoo, body soap…
There is a REWE grocery next door.

Everything fits here! Service is written in capital letters. And the beds are a dream. You don't want to get out.

Really great location for first time visitors. In front of the hotel is the entrance to the metro, which is also intersection with the city railway line S8 that goes to international airport.

Rooms were very nice and very up to date. However we did have a slight issue with room service as we were out all day and when we got back at about 5/6pm, that's when they turned up trying to clean.

An unforgettable Munich stay — pure luxury done right.
My stay at rosewood Munich from 11th to 18th January 2025 was nothing short of exceptional.

Hotel is beautiful! Very close to old Town. Walk everywhere. The restaurant is excellent. The staff is excellent. The beds were semi comfortable. Beautiful sheets but the bed itself was a little hard.

The third time in this hotel. Location was very good, few minutes from center.

Excellent hotel close to a lot of Munich attractions. Very clean and modern and nice. We stayed in the adjoining family room, which was great for the kids.

My wife and I stayed for one night following a Danube river cruise. We booked through American Express Platinum's Fine Hotel and Resorts benefit and could not have been more impressed.

Four stars = very good. Nice hotel. Staff is great. Location is excellent. Everything is very clean. Breakfast is great, but having it at the proper breakfast restaurant is EUR 50 per person.

Things to be aware.

A great hotel in a truly great city! Staff were polite and helpful, room was clean, tidy and comfortable, suited my purposes as a solo traveller, a great breakfast buffet.

What can I say? First class all the way! This hotel is superb. From the moment we walked in we were welcomed warmly and guided to our fabulous room.

An oasis of calm in the heart of Munich.

This hotel is in a fantastic location! Right next to Marienplatz and across the street from a farmers market. Easily walkable to many attractions.

We stayed here last minute and we were very happy with our stay. The food at the restaurant was great — both for breakfast and dinner. Location was also great and very close by to all sights.

I’ve stayed at Jams several times over the last few years for business, and it never disappoints. The rooms are incredibly cozy and the staff is consistently friendly.

I and my wife had a three-night stay at JAMS in the beginning of November, and we had an absolutely lovely time. This charming hotel honestly has it all for a unique and budget stay in Munich.

A charming hotel in a peaceful area. It’s conveniently located — just 3 minutes by subway or 6 minutes by tram from the main station. Many key attractions are within walking distance.

We had a fantastic stay in the garden house located in the courtyard behind the hotel. The kingsized bed in the upstairs bedroom was great.

We stayed here last minute (booked same day) after a bad experience meant we needed to leave our other accommodation. Location is lovely on a quiet street close to all the main sights.

Wonderful place. Will not stay anywhere else when I’m traveling from the US to Munich. The staff is amazing. The rooms are amazing. Everything about the hotel is the best.

You won’t find a room with a better view of Marienplatz. It’s a boutique hotel with some quirks, like no tea and coffee making facilities in the room, so you need to pay extra for any hot beverages.

It’s a lovely walk from the hotel to the old town, and the hotel itself is charming, very much in traditional Bavarian style.

I don't usually do Google reviews for every hotel, but Marias Platzl is an exception! This was a FANTASTIC place for us to stay, and I can highly recommend!

This hotel guarantees quality and excellent service. The rooms are spacious and tastefully decorated! The restaurants are very good, the service is spectacular, and the beds are the best.

Our stay at Mandarin Oriental, Munich was nothing short of exceptional.

The lobby was quite small and you had to bring your luggage up one small flight of stairs to get to the lift.

The room was nice and comfortable, the bathroom was very nice with all the toiletries, everything very clean. Excellent location walking distance to the center, shops and restaurants.

We booked a deluxe room for a few night stay to enjoy Munich, and we couldn't have asked for better accommodations.

Excellent hotel!
The cutest room for one person. It was clean and cleaned everyday. My room had a tiny balcony too with a small chair and table.

I was meeting friends in Munich for a long weekend and chose this hotel relative to the location of their Airbnb. I couldn't have been happier with my 4 day stay.
