The rooms and facilities are nice but the way they break down payments for weekly stays make no sense especially when charging credit card. Otherwise a very nice place to stay.

Rooms were large and clean. The bedroom was very quiet and dark at night. The thermostat kept a consistent temperature without being distracting. Bed and pillows were very comfy. Staff was friend and accommodating. The banquet room was nicely decorated and clean. Microphone worked as desired.

Update to this review, stayed Aug 2018 for another conference. Was informed that pull out sofas had all been replaced! Did not hear one complaint this time! Good job! We enjoyed our Deluxe King Kitchenette Suite! Spacious! Pretty clean. Nice to find all the different bits and pieces needed in the kitchen, including can opener and water filter jug. Little things show attention to detail. Staff this year seemed better trained and more helpful than last year! Lots of parking at this location makes everything so much better for large groups! Tip… don't pay at the machines in the parking lot until you confirm whether you group has a special parking rate set up or not! They will try not to refund your parking fee! When booking, staff informed me, no rooms at our group rate were available. Called our company, they assured me rooms in our block were available, staff called me to correct the issue and my rate. So am satisfied. However, especially with groups, staff should have a better communication system to facilitate group bookings. Overall, enjoyed our stay at this location. Especially the Zen Garden! Previous Review Aug 2017… It's a nice hotel. Pull out couches are notoriously awful! Went with a Conference and everyone who tried the couches complained avidly! Nice, large meeting/event rooms. Staff always seem a little lost. Friendly enough. Good parking.

The room size was great! Staff were friendly. The pool is operated by a third party club and not the hotel. The members of the pool and its management set up 3/5 of the pool with lanes and hop in one place with a member per lane while the other, minimum 20 hotel customers share 2/5 of the pool — The pool is already extremely small. At check in at about 3 pm our room was not ready, we waited 2 hours. Room size was great, id stay again just for the size because our family needs it. The room had many outstanding and much needed repairs and it needed some cleaning. If you need a large area id recommend it otherwise its lacking guest privileges and cleanliness in the rooms. The adage « its what is on the inside that counts » is true for this hotel. The hotel is gorgeous outside and the lobby is as well, rooms are paying the price though however.

Hilton Markham suites rooms were pretty unsanitary. At first glance everything seemed clean and fine, but places were sticky with leftover residue. An opened box of sauce was left within the fridge for who knows how long. I don’t even mind the large coat of dust, but it seems that this place has not been cleared or cleaned out properly at all recently. Kind of disturbing and who knows if it is completely sanitary. I pretty much had to wipe down the entire room. The bath tub stoppers don’t work and are all pulled out incapable of being fitted back in. I’ve typically had good experiences through Hilton hotels but this is just ridiculous. I wanted to leave a decent review but upon further inspection I’ve dropped it down to a one star.

Hands down, the BEST hotel! Rooms are very spacious & clean. Bakery is amazing. Must try! We had breakfast at the restaurant and my daughter ordered off the menu because she was too late for the buffet. She ordered 2 egg whites and the chef prepared 4 egg whites because the portion looked small. We traveled with our 1 yr old puppy for the first time and the hotel was very accommodating. Hotel is very pet friendly and there was plenty of grass to walk the dog. Bakery even got him a small glass of cold water after his walk. Staff is very friendly and so much fun to talk to. The only complaint is that housekeeping staff (not manager) talks among themselves and complains about people at the hotel … for example — how there are too many dogs at hotel and some people leave a mess. We put booties on our puppy so that he does not track mud and grass in the room. Our puppy is trained not the bite furniture and chew personal items. They weren’t directing the remarks at us, but my daughter was offended because they were talking right beside her in the hallway. Above all, I would DEFINITELY return to this hotel.

Compliments to the chef! I was there for a work event for 3 consecutive days and it was neat, tidy, very well put together, and they took really good care of us at the hotel. The food was absolutely delicious each and every single day and that also included the desserts! I would highly recommend it! It is a great place to host events.

We booked the hotel for 17 people for 11 days, it’s been 3 days now, hot water is not available, one kid are experiencing significant fever now because of the water temperature dropped during his shower. We have reflected the problem for 3 days and jot water is still not available.
We chose Hilton because of the service and reputation, but this clearly isn’t the experience we are looking for. I have to write a bad review until they give us a proper explanation.

We had the family suite for the weekend. First, the good: Beds were comfortable, cleaning staff was very helpful (especially one named Maya), check-in was a breeze (Thank you, Roschetsa — I think that's her name).
The not so good: There was hair in the sofa bed (and I happen to be bald), the bathroom was a bit small, pool has too much chlorine, had to replenish our coffee by going to front desk and asking for it, parking should be free.
Also, being a Gold member didn't have any benefits. Not the hotel's fault, I guess.

Nice and spacious corner room. The room is clean. The furniture is not dated but didn't have a new feel to it like other hotels. The technology is decent with two 50" TVs and a good selection of channels. The pool is heated and clean with an okay hot tub.

Huge hotel and conference centre with spa services pretty close to the 407 highway. Rooms were huge and modern, conference facilities adequate, and catering food half decent. However, I cannot figure out how a room service cutoff of 11pm, partnered with its somewhat remote location and lack of late-night delivery services, has gone overlooked for this long. Take your own food of you will be up late and you should be fine.

Great location at warden and hwy 7. Always great customer service from the ladies in the front desk. Rooms are clean and roomy. We love the spacious living area and how there are TVs in both areas. My dad loved the beds as they were very comfortable. No complaints at all.

I went for the "afternoon dessert buffet" and it was delicious! and not too expensive too.

They do not make you feel welcome at the restaurant. Staff need training on being nice to guest stating with smile. They were very moody. The front lady was nice.

I attended the Hilton for the Annual General Meeting for Navy League of Ontario. The hotel is beautiful. Rooms are tastefully decorated, clean and comfortable beds. I stayed 2 nights. The only small points I can make are about the bathrooms. They were usually very clean but the sensor toilet flushers may require adjustment. Some would flush several times with one use while other times they would not flush at all. The toilet paper was thin single ply which was a little surprising when you see the other high end finishes. I enjoyed my time. Didn't have a chance to check out the pool or amenities. Overall it was a pleasant stay. I would return.

I used the gym at Hilton before, it was pretty good. All equipment are well maintain and most of the device has own TV, so meanwhile doing work out, never feel bored. And went there yesterday voting for community, conference room is huge and staffs are friendly.

I attended for a Union conference. The food was good. Bar service was good. My room was clean, big, a couple TVs. Only thing it didn't have was a bathtub/Jacuzzi. Stand up shower only. The conference rooms are equipped with projectors, and there was good audio equipment. Everyone could hear everything. Overall, I'm quite pleased with my stay.

Internet speed has finally been upgraded. However, the service is deteriorating. Last time when I was there, I have to line up for 30 min to get checked in, app didn't work. You still have to wait for the front desk to get the keys. This time, the cleaning is so unprofessional. We left a glass on the table in the morning, it was still there at night when we came back. The cleaning is not done and bed was made poorly, as good as mine. Thanks God, a new Marriott nearby is opening soon.

I absolutely loved my stay here. I attended a professional development event. The food was amazing. The service great. Every employee smiled and greeted you. Such a positive place to stay.

Absolutely loved my stay. Parking was available everywhere, and easy access from the hotel rooms with the seemingly endless walkways. Room was spacious and comfortable for a small or large group of people. McDonalds is right across the street, so good is not an issue. Shopping centres are only minute drives away and is easy to get on the highway from here. The ONLY complaint I have is signs leading towards the pool and gym, as we spent a fair amount of time trying to figure out where we could swim. As well, the pool did look slightly deceiving from the picture. Overall, this was an amazing experience and would love to attend again.

Hotel is in a great location. Especially with downtown Markham developing just around the corner. There is a lot of parking around the hotel which is also a plus. Service was good. Rooms were clean and also well stocked with all the essentials you need. All in ask this Is a nice hotel especially for how old it is.

Good place to stay for a weekend hockey tournament. Would have gone with four stars but the pool is not ideal for a youth hockey team. It's not part of the hotel but rather part of the gym that's connected to the hotel. So it's not ideal for a dozen nine years olds to get in and throw a football around. The rooms are nice but oddly setup. There's a living room like space when you first enter separated from the bedroom by a small hall and a door. This makes for two small spaces as opposed to one great room with more space to move around. They also have a policy, which was explained to me as an insurance issue, that limits the use of the baggage cart to the doormen. So unless you're willing to tip the doorman for wheeling your cart up to your room or back to your car, you'll end up making a few trips back and forth with your bags. On a positive note, the breakfast is fantastic! It's a must try part of the hotel.

Room was modern and clean and also featured an interior door to separate the bedroom from the decent sized sitting room. Both the bed and the pillows were super comfy. Front desk staff were friendly and checking in was done quickly. Housekeepers would always smile and say hello if you saw them in the hallway. The conference rooms were good and buffet meals offered were good as well.

I was there for the Christmas dinner buffet. Food was just barely at par for its listed $60 pp price. The only item I would consider close to hotel quality was the roast beef. 90% of the hot food was just plain room temperature. Each refill of the salad bar and dessert tables showed signs of less condiments. Servers were either very eager to get off work or they had nothing better to do caused they took my plates away mutilple times when I just simply turned my face to talk to my friends when there were still food on my plate. I would definitely not go back for any festive meals.

Nice 4 stars hotel in central Markham! You won't miss it if drive along Hwy 7, the big clock on the building kind of a signature! The Spa is good & busy always, as well as the gym! They always have function in conference room & every year hold Christmas & New Year party for public! Rooms need a bit update due to the high traffic! Overall, 4 stars for the hotel!

We went to have the brunch buffet at Essence. It was our first time. The food and service was excellent. However, the price I would say is too pricey that I would probably not do it again. It was good food but I can eat good food elsewhere and pay significantly less. $130 for brunch for my wife and kid is a bit too much.

Very good hotel, according to the service in every way. The lobby and the public areas are nice. The layout of the rooms is a little strange but they are spacious. Excellent fitness area and exercise machines.

I was at the Hilton Toronto/Markham Suites for a celebration event. We used the Markham Ballroom. It was a beautiful room with wonderful and helpful staff. The food was buffet style and was delicious. The bathrooms were clean and presentable. The audio system did need a bit of improvement and to be easier to plug in, but overall it was a great experience.

The staff were pleasant and helpful, even though I arrived at 1AM. The facility is beautiful and modern, and the rooms are all recently renovated. There's a separate bedroom and living area in each room, allowing two people to comfortably share space. The Hilton Markham is a beautiful hotel. I highly recommend staying here if you have business in the area.

Comfortable beds and lots of room. We did have a couple of surprises. The sinks in the bathroom are under the counter type, don’t look under rim, pretty scary! We had a $17 pizza delivered to our room and it was really good. In the hurry to get the very courteous staff out of the room we added $5 to the bill and said good night. Looking at the bill the best morning, we were charged $3 delivery plus 15% gratuity, come on guys that’s called double dipping in my books!

I was on the 4th floor right by the elevator. It was a good room even with wedding guests and parties going on we couldn't hear much of it when on the bed. However, the bed itself was very soft and bouncy which we didn't like as much. The pillows were nice and plump though. Our shower head had a tendency to droop down as the water pressure decreased, which made it difficult to shower at times. Other than that our stay was very nice, the cleaning service was great and respectful.

We checked in earlier tonight. We booked the weekend getaway plan and the plan name also appears in my confirmation e-mail. However, two ladies at the front desk first denied breakfast and late check-out as promised by the plan. To be honest I don't like their attitude which makes me feel like I am a theft. But I paid for it. Even if the confirmation specifically says it's a weekend getaway plan, staff still said it was just regular discount. Eventually, they found the plan and apologized in a pretty reluctant manner. Room is good, but staff needs more training.

The Markham Suites Conference Center & Spa is a very nice hotel located in Markham, a suburb of Toronto. The hotel offers ample parking around the spa, hotel, and in a separately located garage. Rooms are large and well appointed; not overly luxurious, but very comfortable. The hotel has a nice restaurant serving meals throughout the day. The hotel also has an executive lounge for Hilton members to enjoy. While I stayed, I had meals both in the restaurant, and using the room service. All meals I had using both methods were very good. The hotel is a nice place to stay and is conveniently located to many attractions in the downtown Toronto area.

Hotel in itself is stunning, our new experience however wasn't. I do wedding photography and a majority of my clients day starts at the hotel and there has never been an issue with permits or ever even needing one if you were staying at the hotel. This was the only location that did not allow photography without a permit and the security person actually jumped in front of the camera to prevent us from taking any shots for our client. This was for a an out of town client who had his entire wedding party and his family and extended family residing at the hotel at that time. I am ashamed at the level of service and professionalism showed by the Hotel and it's staff to it's guests. My hope is that the hotel realized what they did and apologized to their fullest extent to my client and their guest.

I stayed here for 2 night for a wedding banquet. This Hilton looked decent based on how to lobby looks, and the conference centre and banquet hall look classy and fit for a wedding. The rooms are all suites — meaning they are a very good size, with a living room area and a separate bedroom area. However, you can see that the interior is very dated, as the paint has chipped off and the doors looking very old despite having a modernized bathroom and bedroom. The bed itself is very comfortable. 2 our of the 4 elevators broke down during my stay, and I frequently have to wait a long time for them. The breakfast buffet is poor — the food selection was very limited and super expensive for what it is. There is a Cora's nearby (within a 5 min walk) and I would recommend going there for breakfast/brunch instead. Overall, this Hilton is just OK.

During my wedding weekend, my wife and I experienced technical trouble in her room, poor customer service and attentiveness and a lack of empathy from management concerning our experience. My wife's room lost power twice, the shower head was broken and a hotel staff member humiliated my wife in the lobby bar in front of everyone. That staff member even threatened to call security on my wife. The photographer asked her to sit up on the bar and as my wife is in a wedding dress which gives her ZERO mobility and maneuverability, she could only move so fast. When the staff member yelled at her the first time, my wife was trying to comply but because she was moving slowly, she got yelled at again. After the wedding was over, we complained to management and after her so called "investigation" she found that our situation did not warrant compensation as the staff were just doing their jobs. I was not aware that yelling at and humiliating a bride and groom on their wedding day was part of the job description. The manager advised us that breached hotel policy by taking wedding pictures in the hotel even though our event was not being held there. Well then, when we booked the hotel with the front desk and advised them it was for wedding purposes we should have been informed of that shouldn't we? Bottom line, we are totally dissatisfied and disheartened that our wedding was trampled on at that point on our special day. Also, management still refuses to do anything for my wife and I.

This is the nicest Hilton I have ever been to. It has super nice rooms. Beautiful layout. The rooms are small but you really don't notice. Very friendly staff and I haven't had a chance to try out the fitness center or breakfast but I expect good things.

I had a really good experience with my stay here. The staff was very accommodating and despite there seeming to be three conferences occurring at the location while we were staying here, we suffered no inconveniences for it via the amenities available to us. If there was any point of criticism that I could pose, it was that I'm generally not a fan of having to pay for parking as a separate fee — especially since I was renting a car and had to pay for parking everywhere we visited during our stay. But otherwise, I would definitely recommend this hotel for anyone looking to stay in this area.

I tried to reschedule my reservation due to a family member's issue (unforeseen cancellation of travel arrangements). I was transferred from Hilton Honors to the hotel itself, and then to Hilton Advanced Purchase, all to tell me they could not do anything for me. Super-disappointed. Customer Care would not do anything to assist me and the property manager did not do so either. I spoke with both the supervisor and the manager and both were unwilling to assist. I was requesting… a refund or a rescheduling of my stay to another day but they were not willing to do any of that. I will be staying at other hotels from now on, as this is not the type of customer care I expected from such a highly ranked hotel. One would have thought this was a hotel which genuinely cared for its customers and would see what it could do in this unfortunate situation. I have been through alot in the past few days and there wasn't even a hint of an attempt to see what they could do or accommodate my situation. What is further disappointing is that they said they would have been able to refund me the rate had the cancellation of the flight had been due to weather but not for overbooked flights. So if your flight was cancelled because of weather, you may be refunded at the discretion of the hotel property. If your flight was cancelled because it was overbooked through no fault of your own, then you will not be refunded. A cancelled flight due to no fault of the customer is a cancelled flight.

I stayed there this weekend for a friend's wedding. When I arrived, the man who greeted me at the front desk was extremely rude. He claimed my reservation was under another persons name (the guy I had listed as my additional guest in the room) and didn't want to give me the room even though my email address and credit card had been used to book the room. Then, he tried to book a separate room for my guest — the whole point in me listing his name as my additional guest was that he was arriving the next day! He was unapologetic about their mixup and kept asking if I'd even booked the room myself. He didn't tell me any details about the hotel and didn't offer me a drink, even though the couple beside me and the person before me in line had been offered drinks when they were checking in. When I got to the room, the complimentary items I had requested weren't there. I had to call and, again, request that extra towels and foam pillows be brought up because I am allergic to feathers. What is the point in requesting these things in advance if they aren't going to be provided and you just have to call when you get there? The next day, I went with friends for some drinks in the restaurant on the main floor around 4:15. Because of the construction in the lobby, there was no official bar and we were initially told we couldn't just get drinks without food until the makeshift bar opened at 5pm.

I was there for a work event recently — didn't stay overnight. Parking was easily accessible, nothing too complicated. It is a paid parking lot though — just be aware. Walking in, I was greeted by the concierge, and some other staff, with a smile. They were very helpful. The lobby and bar area were clean and had a nice modern feel. There are a multitude of conference rooms to suit any event. The catering was good — breakfast was ok (the fruit tasted odd) but lunch was really good (fish sandwiches, salads…). It was overall a nice experience.

The suite was extremely narrow, the layout of the suite could be much better (glass door right in front of toilet), complementary wi fi was incredibly slow, not even optimal for basic internet browsing, should have a mirror and tissue box outside of the bathroom, room phones could not dial through to front desk or services.

Hilton markham was awesome, I originally got a queen bed but they upgraded me to king. The room was clean with many amenities. The view from the Windows looked down at the lobby over the bar. Service was great and friendly. I would definitely come back.

Company meeting/presentation, staff were very quick to help clean out plates and refuse after meals, and were quick and efficient when setting things up. We had a cocktail reception in a beautiful Terrace zen garden. Excellent service and would definitely recommend for corporate events and meetings.

We booked a wedding party of 30 rooms. Hilton head office took the rezo but this was never communicated to the hotel. We did get all 30 rooms but everyone who wanted a room had to contact either my myself or my future wife. This is on going but I've already had to go to hotel twice and spend multiple hours on the phone with guest services and supervisors. I now have to call the GM of the hotel myself because apparently you never become a customer of this hotel and their time is more valuable than mine obviously. We printed the phone number of the hotel on our invites (over 200 sent) but I am now told by the hotel the only way to fix it is to tell everyone to quote our reservation number or contact one specific person? This may be the worst customer service I've ever received from a hotel. I've now called customer service at head office. Very nice and wants to solve the problem. She agrees they made a mistake but it's up to me to fix. Hotel looks great from my last visits to try and resolve my issue. Unfortunately they don't care about customer service. Head office says it's the hotels fault and hotel says its head office fault? It's easy to take no ownership of a problem isn't it… I will update this review…

Front staff great. Rooms clean. The bad… could use more sound proofing in rooms, tea / coffee / shampoo etc. Not restocked when room made up. Water pressure is terrible, Shower drops to a trickle several times during use. The lounge service is abysmal. The lady at the bar was ignorant, the service is incredibly slow due to being understaffed. The pool is too small for the size of the hotel, always over crowded. Both our TV remotes were broken and had to pound the buttons to get them to work. Needless to say this is my first and last stay at this hotel.

Great deal, easily accessed from highway 404 / 7, rooms show signs of wear but were clearly renovated in the last couple of years. I concur with others that the double beds are on the small side, but they were nonetheless comfortable.

PROS: Nice, well-kept property. Clean, well appointed rooms. Helpful, accommodating staff. Nice health club. We had a noisy/drinking/uncontrolled kids group of guests surrounding our room. (can't blame the hotel for rude guests). They tried to make it right with us in a manner I would expect from a Hilton. Thumbs up. CONS: Atrium can be noisy. Rooms (all floors) that are near the centre atrium might as well be directly opening to a bar. A building design flaw. Doors separating the room halls would help. Only an issue if the lounge were rowdy (a rarity, I suspect). Just ask for a room down the hall. Double bed rooms have these small micro-doubles. Not great for two to share (very cozy! )

The hotel was pretty nice overall, however there were some problems within the hotel besides the lobby like lights flickering going out, and TV's not functioning right. The rooms were very clean and nice. Staff were very friendly, helpful, and nice. The location was pretty decent with everything about 7-10 minutes away from the hotel. But one big problem was the internet, we got free internet but the problem with the free internet is that it didn't even work (it was a 0.5 MBPS), and the price for the regular internet was a bit too much. The free internet was so slow, we decided to revert to using a mobile hot spot. But overall, the hotel was good.

Excellent location very close to client. Great fitness center with a huge number of machines and variety equipment to use. However the fitness center doesn't open early enough to get a full workout done in the morning before going to client. Rooms are great and staff is great.

I went for the afternoon tea. Service was top notch. But food selection and quality were below expectations. Sandwiches were blown dry, everything just tasted like sugar and we didn't get macaron until we had to personally ask for them. We expected what you advertised would be there, if not perhaps there should be fine writing that signifies that each day would be different. $20 isn't fair for the poor selection of snacks. Also my table and chairs weren't properly cleaned before we were seated. I ended up getting syrup on my jacket.

I wish there was a no-star. First of all, front desk clerks were rude and unhelpful. Coming in from a 8-hour drive, I'm not expecting much, just want a clean bed at 3 o'clock in the morning. Also, we had to sign this non-party agreement when we checked-in since it's New Years eve. I would be fine with it, but why did the white guy in front of us not have to sign it then. That didn't make sense to me. After observing the interaction between this clerk and the man in front us, I was expecting the same service. The clerk told the man aboht how to access the Wi-Fi and how to get to his room (which way to his room) Do you think we got the same service? NOPE! All he care about was telling us about the no-partying in the room rules and we are responsible for any damage. (dude, I know people party, but we looked like we were going to pass out right there at the lobny) After finishing signing all he said was "here's your keys! " Nothing else, I had to ask him how to get to our rooms and access the Wi-Fi since I needed to work. Finally getting up to our rooms, which was colder than outside. We turned up the heat, waiting for to kick in. I decided to take a hot shower, our shower head was broken. Dude seriously!?!?!?! The shower head would not stay down so you have to hold it down, I ended up just using a hairtie to hold it down. At 3am, I'm too tired to complaint. Called our friends room to make sure everything was okay, and then hung up getting ready for bed.

Rude night staff during check in. Unhelpful with Wi-Fi login or even directions to our room. Our friends room had issue with phone going off at 2am. Our room shower head won't stay in position and heating didn't work til 5am in the morning. Terrible 2 night stay ever.

The conference hall is located at the heart of downtown Markham which is the business district. It is minutes away from highway which makes it convenient rather you are coming from Toronto or Newmarket. Parking spot is a little bit limited but there are options to park off site. Room is very large, but with a high ceiling and decorations it looks modern and cozy. It can easily provide catering for 1000 guests. Staff are very friendly and professional.
