A good team needs a good team leader. Mr Nick Brash, general manager of the hotel, is such a good leader. When we had specific requests on the accommodation Nick helped to address it just in time. He called my cellphone and did not talk down on me. As a guest of Holiday Inn, I feel respected and my family respected. Beyond that, the breakfast was nutricious and the location very close to the river. My wife booked the hotel and she made the right decision.

Maxi, The front desk agent was very kind and awesome AF! My charger gave out and phone was dead and they had no android chargers so she went outside to her car and lent me her personal charger! So awesome of her to go the extra mile and demonstrate amazing customer service. That's very rare to find these days! The holiday inn is very lucky to have an employee like Maxi!

Clean and modern hotel. Convenient location close to waterfront, Bridge to USA, Essar Centre, Station Mall, Sault Ste Marie downtown and easy access to Trans Canada Highway. Noise issue caused by large group assembling in lobby woke us at 630am. Front desk staff offered sincere apology and loyalty points credit. Check In / Check Out was fast and friendly. All interactions with staff exceeded expectations. Typical of this chain, amenities included free Wi-Fi, free breakfast and indoor pool. Less expensive than Delta across street minus only the waterfront view.

My friends and I stayed here on the first night of our road trip and this was a great hotel. The staff provided a map of the area and recommendations to eat at. They were super friendly and our room was very clean. Located across from the mall and 2 blocks from the river walk.

Amazing staff and service. Location is great and close to mall and entertainment. Rooms are typical. All in all a great place to stay for a few nights.

Although I like Holiday Inn hotels but when I had been to this one I did not like it that much. The breakfast was not that good. The pancake maker was broke. The pool was closed although it was an hour after the pool hours starts and when I told the front desk, it was then opened. The hot tub was not working as well as the sauna. It is really disappointing when many amenities are not working at the same visit.

Great service. Clean. First time that we went that the hot tub was close. Pool water was a bit on the cold side. Kids favorite place to spent the night.

I recently stayed at the holiday inn floor 4 nights on a work related trip. I found the hotel to be ready for a possible upgrade. It appears to me it is an older hotel, but in great present shape given the age. My room had a thermostat on the wall which did nothing. You head to change settings directly on the heater which is fine… would have been nice to know that two days earlier. The elevator was also down for the whole week. Not a big deal for me to go up one floor. There's are also lots of good restaurants close by and the mall is across the street. Overall the stay was fine for me… just not as good as it could have been.

Bed was hard, elevator is out of service for the next few months! Nice surprise. Looks like I have to chase my loyalty points now. False fire alarm in the early morning hours. Not my idea of a good experience!

Avoid this hotel until the elevator is replaced. I checked in on a Saturday evening. When I asked for the location of the elevator, I was told it is out of service. I had to carry a large (26") suitcase, a 20" rolling suitcase and a carry on bag up the stairs. No offer was made to help or use the service elevator. I showed to the person behind the desk what I had with me. That was met with a blank stare. Thank goodness I was on the 2nd floor, not the 4th.

Attended Holiday Inn Express SSM for my son's Hockey Team Christmas party. Facilities were very clean, pool area was updated and spotless. Excellent facility.

Newly renovated hotel. Clean rooms with nice enough furnishings. Complimentary breakfast had a lot of options, including some warm foods. Good location near good restaurants and the mall. Recommended if you are going to the Sault for work.

Had a staycation with my family and had a wonderful time. Pool hot tub and beautiful rooms. Breakfast was great.

Used to be the Day's Inn if I remember correctly… They've done a good job with the reno's… Clean, comfortable rooms… Would definitely recommend…

Wonderful hot breakfast that offered turkey sausage and wheat english muffins. Beautiful decor, even the public area restrooms were impressive. Walking distance from the waterfront board walk. Excellent night's rest. Free Wi-Fi. Great friendly staff!

The employees were the best part of the hotel. They were incredibly nice. We received a warm greeting from a woman at the front desk immediately upon entering the hotel. The rooms were decent and the breakfast was good. It was also very conveniently located for us.

Very clean and welcoming! Staff were friendly and helpful. I definitely would recommend to anyone wanting a great place to spend the night or a few nights to visit this Holiday Inn Express!

Stopped here while on a bicycle tour for some R&R. The staff were over-the-top helpful — — everything from locking our bikes away safely in a storage room, to bringing us extra soap and recommending places for takeout. The hotel is very new and clean; pool and hot tub are in a bright room with windows to a garden; rooms are comfortable. Loved the free guest-access laundry services! The breakfast buffet had a huge selection of food, but most of it was only sub-par in quality.

Staying here now enjoying my coffee while getting ready for work and the hot breakfast downstairs! Very comfortable bed, very clean room. Got some city info from the gentleman downstairs last night as I was coming in to the city. I always enjoy my stays in holiday inn express and this one is no different. My go to hotel for business travel as of late. Good location and all the expectations you should have of a mid range hotel.

Modern rooms and good staff, excellent location close to shopping and the arena.

Overall a good experience, but found the walls very thin and could often hear other rooms using their toilet paper (sounded like banging) and others speaking.

Great location close to shopping, the casino, warm friendly staff, rooms are clean and comfortable, overall a great place to stay,, nd affordable.

Really enjoy this hotel for passing through Sault Ste Marie. Travelling with 2 young children, the pool was great. Will definitely stay again. Also the gentleman at the front desk had a great recommendation for a quick take out dinner, which was helpful. :)

Stayed so we could do the Agawa Canyon tour train. Great location for this — only a few minutes walk to where the train leaves from. The downside is that the world and his wife were doing the same thing, which made getting breakfast difficult as everyone descended on the breakfast room at the same time. The staff were very friendly and helpful, the rooms were clean and quiet. Slightly dodgy pillows but otherwise a very comfortable bed.

The suite had an extra pull out couch and a really nice fire place decoration. The breakfast was great!

Food was great, service impeccable, extremely generous, quality bedding, fantastic television, top notch pancakes.

The hotel is in an excellent location (if a bit difficult to get to, driving… but what isn't in Sault Ste. Marie? ), and offers a lot for the price. The pool and hot tub are great, and the sauna is even better. Also one of the tastiest continental breakfasts I've had. The hotel is close to everything, and the rooms are nice. Would stay again.

Great location, friendly front desk and good parking. Main entrance is accessible with a ramp. I found the room to be small for the price, but clean and well kept. The kitchenette is a welcome addition. Overall a great stay in Sault Ste Marie.

Simply amazing, good location and recently renovated. I've stayed here a few times while on business in the Sault and for the price, this hotel can't compare. Had a corner suite for a couple of nights which was larger that most 2 bedroom apartments, and for the same cost as a broom closet at some other hotels. Service was friendly, thanks to Jasmine for the warm welcome upon arrival and in answering my questions. There is Free laundry on-site which was an added bonus and really nice, modern machines. Pool area was clean, towels available at the front desk and to sit in the sauna was awesome considering it was bitter cold out. Would I stay here again? Absolutely.

A nice renovation of an older hotel, located right downtown and across from the Station Mall. My only criticism about the hotels location is the lack of restaurants nearby (not their fault obviously). The HVAC unit would not shut off, so I had to unplug it. Really friendly service. 7/10.

Great experience. Fantastic breakfast. Staff is very professional. Feels like a 4-5 star hotel, even though it's a 3 on paper. Best value in the soo hands down.
